sadge that we console gamers do not get to see better using filters :(
Tbh it depends on your TV/monitor too, quite a few more up to date ones have a lot of filters built-in and even my terrible TV I use for a monitor from like the stone age has the bare basics built into it for brightness colour and contrast. Obviously you won't get the same level as most PC programs but you can still give it a try, even if it's just the most basic things

Given the fact that the prestige changes have made the item and white ward grind 30x worse, I'd be more than happy with the offering guaranteeing that you do not lose the item at the end of the trial. You still lose it for the game if you're hit with, say, Franklin's Demise, but it's then returned to you at the end of the trial with addons.

Overall, this is a very good rework idea. If anything it might be a bit of an overbuff at the cost of making his addons boring.
I think 50% stalk from fully stalked survivors is definitely too much, especially given the fact that survivors can also regenerate their stalk. How quickly and under what conditions does their stalk regenerate?
How quickly would his stalk deplete? I think it should take 20 seconds for it to deplete and it can't deplete past 50%.
As for the addon changes:
- There are too many addons (5) there that "extend the duration of Tier 2."
- Scratched Mirror should play as it was with 105% movement speed. It wasn't overpowered and a lot of players enjoy playing as and against it. I wouldn't want to see it pairing with Boyfriend Memo either unless the Scratched Mirror's lunge got buffed to compensate since the rest of your addons would be useless with it anyway. Your Vanity Mirror is not a substitute for this.
- Fragrant Tuft of Hair should still be perma-Exposed at the cost of having to stalk more. Teams that don't feed him can counter it.
- Judith's Tombstone shouldn't change either since it isn't even that strong unless someone actually feeds him and really is only viable along with the Tuft.
How would that achievement be achieved? Since your Myers can't tombstone they'd have to use an Ebony Mori. They'd have to 2-hook everyone and then manage to full stalk them before Mori-ing them. I think this could be even harder to do than Evil Incarnate and still be easily disrupted by cantankerous survivors.
Still this could be a great start to a Myers rework, I can tell you put some thought into it!
Okay to answer a few things here:
I think 50% stalk from fully stalked survivors is definitely too much, especially given the fact that survivors can also regenerate their stalk. How quickly and under what conditions does their stalk regenerate?
I don't think 50% is too much, tbh, when considering that in my mind his power could fall back down to 0% charged if it isn't used. It's a commit or lose it type of thing, or else it's a "spend ages constantly keeping it topped up" sort of thing which would both be awkward and inefficient. Allowing it at 50% really keeps the use it or lose it aspect in my mind. Of course, I could also be entirely wrong- I'd need to have a build to mess around with it however I want to really find out how it feels to use, and since I'm not a dev I don't have access to a playground; the numbers could definitely be tweaked around.
As for regeneration, let's just say that survivors can have up to 100 charges of stalk. I don't know the exact amount, because I don't know the exact mechanics of his power, but if need be substitute charges for percent. After not being stalked for a certain period of time- I don't know how long and would again need some testing to figure out a good amount for this, but let's just say 20 seconds as a base- then a survivor begins to regenerate their stalk at a rate of 0.25 charges per second. This happens regardless of if a survivor was completely sucked dry or left nearly full- it's always 0.25 charges per second, meaning that to get back to being completely full it would take 400 seconds. Of course, you don't need a survivor to be fully stalked, especially with being able to stalk fully-drained survivors, and it would still incentivise spreading the Myers love which I think would help form a healthier gameplay cycle than hyperfocusing on one survivor specifically. The 20 second base timer just means that Myers can't on-and-off stalk in a chase and still get his power when combined with the decay.
There are too many addons (5) there that "extend the duration of Tier 2."
Every add-on that extends the duration of Tier 3 at the moment was included, and the wording changed to extend the duration of Tier 2. There's one add-on per tier, and there's 5 tiers, including Fragrant Tuft of Hair. Because I removed Tier 1 and made Tier 3 into Tier 2, then I included them all as a change to increase the duration of Tier 2, since that's just what there is on live.
Fragrant Tuft of Hair should still be perma-Exposed at the cost of having to stalk more. Teams that don't feed him can counter it.
It would, and I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. As I mentioned above, as Tier 3 was changed to Tier 2, the wording of the add-on was also changed to extend the duration of Tier 2 (indefinitely).
Scratched Mirror should play as it was with 105% movement speed.
I'm going to be 100% honest with you, I absolutely hate Scratched Mirror and find it horifically dull to play as and against. I've dealt with it so often that not even the jumpscares of a random Myers from around a wall feel scary anymore, and if anything it's just kind of annoying, because the map offering is always Lerys and they always have identical perk builds and play the exact same way (not like there's any other way to play Scratched Mirror, because the add-on is a meme). Any chance I had to remove it I would take, and since I reduced the amount of tiers of Evil Within, I essentially gave Vanity Mirror a facelift and replaced Scratched Mirror.
That said, I do think you're forgetting that when I mention Tier 1 within the add-ons, I mean current Tier 2 with some added Undetectable and a larger Terror Radius. So that tiny lunge of current Tier 1 Myers wouldn't exist anymore. My least favourite part about his entire kit is current Tier 1, so I jumped at the chance to delete it ASAP, and getting rid of Scratched Mirror was an added bonus.
Not really, any mori would work. Read the wording again.
To get this achievement, you must:
- Achieve Tier 2 (current Tier 3) by stalking a survivor who has been fully-drained. This means you'd be stalking at ~50% effectiveness without a Tombstone offering, but it doesn't need them to be stalked from 0-100 while fully-drained, just that the survivor you tier up from is fully-drained when you tier up. In theory, you could stalk 99% at full speed, and the final 1% would only need to be at the reduced speed.
- From there, down the survivor you tiered up from. This is where Scratched Mirror would be useful, allowing you to pocket your Tier 2 a lot better and so can use it when you're closer. Alternatively, provided you tier up from a fully-stalked survivor, Fragrant Tuft of Hair would work since it would give you as much time as you need.
- Within 60 seconds of downing this survivor, kill them by your own hand. This could be via the effects of Hex: Devour Hope, Rancor, an Ivory Mori, an Ebony Mori, or even a Cypress Mori.
- Moreover, it doesn't have to be during Tier 2 that you mori them- just that you do so after downing them during the same Tier 2 when they were fully-stalked, if that makes sense? Say you got the first part of the achievement during your first stalk, but only got the kill part on your fourth, you'd still get the achievement. Does that make sense?
I hope this helped clear up some questions/issues you had with it, and thank you for the compliment! I tried my best to think of the biggest complaints both sides have with his power (Tier 1, clunky, solo) and address them, and then ditched Scratched Mirror as a bonus because of my personal vendetta. I've edited my original comment slightly to help clear up the Fragrant Tuft of Hair issue.

In the next update, we plan on making the following changes to The Shape's kit:
power
As one of our oldest killers, The Shape's power was created in a very different time of DBD, and our initial vision for DBD has shifted considerably. Therefore, we will be changing how his base power works, in order to bring him in-line with our other killers.
- Evil Within now has 2 power tiers, with Tier 2 becoming Tier 1 and Tier 3 becoming Tier 2. Current Tier 1 of Evil Within, how The Shape begins a trial, we feel is outdated. Instead, The Shape will receive 60 seconds of Undetectable upon beginning a trial. This 60 second window is cut short if The Shape enters Tier 3.
- The Shape now has a 32m terror radius in Tier 2. We feel the need to standardise his kit with other killers, to make the new-player experience much easier and also to make balancing exterior aspects of the game, such as perks and maps, much easier. However, we appreciate that players enjoyed that aspect of his kit, so as part of his power his Terror Radius will slowly expand outwards to the 32m mark over the course of 60 seconds. This 60 second window begins after the Undetectable window, and similarly is also cancelled if The Shape enters Tier 3 before the 60 seconds is up.
- The Shape is now able to stalk fully-drained Survivors. One common point of complaint is how it was impossible to get your power from the same Survivor. The Shape will now be able to stalk a fully-drained Survivor at 50% of the regular rate.
- Similarly to the above change, Survivors will also slowly regenerate their stalk, rewarding The Shape for spreading damage across multiple targets instead of hyper-focusing on one Survivor, which we hope will help improve the experience of facing The Shape. After not being stalked for 20 seconds, a Survivor will begin to regenerate their stalk at 0.25% each second.
- Finally, The Shape is now unable to "99" his Tier 3. When not stalking, the power meter will slowly drain back down to empty. One very common complaint, particularly in solo queue, was that teammates could "feed" The Shape's power, and they would be punished despite playing well against him. Having made it substantially easier to reach Tier 3, and by allowing fully-stalked Survivors to regenerate stalk and also be stalked, we feel this change is fair and will hopefully reduce frustration with players on both sides. Killers will now no-longer accidentally use a power they were hoping to save, and Survivors will now no longer feel unfairly punished for mistakes of random players.
add-ons
Again, as one of our oldest killers, The Shape has some outdated add-ons we no longer feel are part of DBD. Therefore, we will be making the following changes:
- Boyfriend's Memo: The Shape does not begin the Trial while Undetactable. Gain 100% bonus bloodpoints in the Deviousness Category.
- Blond Hair: Now extends the duration of Tier 2.
- Reflective Fragment: Now activates during Tier 1.
- Glass Fragment: The Shape's Terror Radius no longer slowly expands to 32m. Increase the duration of the Undetectable Status Effect by 30 seconds.
- Hair Brush: Now extends the duration of Tier 2.
- Dead Rabbit: Decreases The Shape's Terror Radius in Tier 1 by 8m. Increases The Shape's Terror Radius in Tier 2 by 8m.
- Mirror Shard: Now activates during Tier 1.
- Judith's Journal: Increase the rate Survivors regenerate stalk by 100%.
- Hair Bow: Now extends the duration of Tier 2.
- Vanity Mirror: Now activates during Tier 1, and prevents The Shape from achieving Tier 2.
- Tombstone Piece: Fully-drained Survivors can be stalked at 75% rate.
- Lock of Hair: Now extends the duration of Tier 2.
- Scratched Mirror: Reduces the amount that Evil Within Tier 1 regresses at by 100%.
- Judith's Tombstone: Fully-drained Survivors can be stalked at 100% rate.
- Fragrant Tuft of Hair: Now extends the duration of Tier 2 (indefinitely).
We hope these changes will both improve the experience when playing as and against The Shape, while also streamlining him with more modern killer powers. We will be tweaking numbers based upon feedback, so please send it to us via our official communication channels.
achievements
Finally, as some may notice, we have reworked Tombstone Piece and Judith's Tombstone, making the current "Evil Incarnate" achievement impossible to achieve. As such, we will be reworking the achievement to the new "Evil Never Rests" achievement:
"In a public match, achieve the TIER II Evil Within by stalking a fully-stalked Survivor, and then kill them by your own hand within 60 seconds."
We are well aware of how difficult this achievement was to get, and so will understand if players feel annoyed by this being changed after they have worked so hard to gain it. Therefore, any players who have this achievement prior to the next update releasing will receive an exclusive Judith's Tombstone Charm and 50000 Bloodpoints to compensate for their troubles. This Charm will only return if this achievement changes again.

You say that Jeff got the same amount of cosmetics as Claudette. That's true I guess.
Claudette got far better quality of cosmetics than Jeff from the Rift over that period. All but one of Jeff's Rift cosmetics were recolors with the exception of the awful Blockbuster uniform. Claudette saw more unique outfits from the Rift as well as better recolors since she has a better base of outfits to choose from.
Dwight got far better quality cosmetics than Jeff did, more comparable to Claudette's outfits, and also got at least 3 Store cosmetics and another Torso piece. Claudette does not deserve to be in the same group as Dwight, Felix, Meg, Feng, and Kate.

No, not at all. There is an in-game setting which allows you to do this exact same thing, and it's called colour-blind mode. While programs like NVIDIA GeForce and Reshade let you do it easier, the options exist within the game for a reason.

change the hue from nvidia control panel
NVIDIA requires that developers specifically approve their software before you can use it to change the colour of the game. The fact that they have, and have approved of it since back in 2017, means that no, it is not cheating. It is specifically approved by the developers of the game.
-
Feng, Felix, Dwight, Kate, and Meg all deserve a year where they get 0 cosmetics. Jake gets a pass since before this year his most recent cosmetic was from December 2020. David and Nea I am very on the fence about.
######### you, Feng Min. And ######### you, Felix Richter, Dwight Fairfield, Kate Denson, and Meg Thomas. And a semi-######### you to David and Nea.
Feng doesn't deserve to be singled out, but she does deserve to stop receiving so many goddamn skins. Yui, Adam, Elodie, Haddie, and Zarina deserve more.
-
Claudette got a Rift cosmetic in Tome 11- Devotion, and another in Tome 12- Discordance. Before that, her most recent Rift cosmetic was in Tome 7- Forsaken. Bearing in mind that we receive 4 new Rifts each year, that is an entire year's gap between Rift cosmetics she received.
Let's look at every Survivor outfit during that time.
Getting the same amount of Rift cosmetics as Claudette in this time frame are:
- Jeff
- Jake
- Dwight
That seems damning, doesn't it? But then if we look at the other characters, all of whom have received at least 2 Rift cosmetics in the past year and a bit:
- Kate has received Store cosmetics (4 since 12th August 2021)
- Felix has received Store cosmetics (5 since August 2021)
- Feng has received Store cosmetics (4 since August 2021)
- Dwight has received Store cosmetics (3 since August 2021 + a Torso cosmetic)
- Ace has received Store cosmetics (2 since August 2021)
- Meg has received Store cosmetics (3 since August 2021)
And what's that? Claudette's most recent Store cosmetic (I am not including Rift cosmetics later released) was the Dog-Sitter outfit, released 12th August 2021?
Yeah, um. That proves my point.
Keep her name out of your mouth, she does not deserve to be included with the rest of the Cosmetic Hogs.

I had Pyramid Head for 12 days for a couple reasons. One, because someone asked for help with changing their pfp. Two, because I like Pyramid Head. Three, I felt like I needed a change.
But only after I'd changed it did I realise how integral it is to me. I'm recognised by that perk, and it means so much to me and has for the past 2 years almost (god we're a month off of his 2 year death anniversary, ######### me). I felt like with WGLF as my pfp I would never be able to move on, but only after changing it did I realise that wasn't the case at all. It's my little way of honouring him, of remembering him, and of making sure that he'll live forever in my memory.
It's a little bit stupid and a little bit sappy, but that's why I'm back to using WGLF as my icon.

Well I'm curious now, what is the post referring to? Was there a safe spot in RE? Doesn't seem like a game with a safety net
RE games have different save rooms where enemies cannot enter and the player is able to save their progress. Depending on difficulty, the amount of saves you can make is limited, and not every typewriter is in a safe room.

Both have been clearly seen beatable on both sides. Maybe because it's not as easy case by case is why this response is prevalent, and it all runs back into practice with different builds etc. NOPE gotta be easy pz for the baby survivors
Once again killers complained about the size more than Survivors.

Yall just making excuses, ive always had a fine time on survivor or killer for this map. Every person i see complain about it, takes about 1% effort to challenge themselves, IT HAS TO BE EASY. It's pretty old at this point, the maps prob gonna disappear eventually like ST did too so and then ill be even more disappointed
The real question is what did i just read tbh
The map would only disappear if the Resident Evil licence was lost, and considering we're literally getting a second RE chapter that's very unlikely in the foreseeable future.

It's just hard for me to swallow. It's not like Nemesis where he gives you a free sprint burst, but you did have to put survivors asleep before you could hit them, which they could reverse by failing a skill check, and you gave them a big heads up when you did put them to sleep. I'm not familiar with his old add-ons, but I doubt any of them changed this interaction.
There were block addons, which could massive reduce the transition time from 7 seconds to 3.5 seconds, giving them far less time to react. I always ran them, but I wasn't the best at killer so I don't know if I'd prefer some of his other ones now (like Class Photo, which increased the transition to 9 seconds but revealed all survivors when someone was in the transition).
Either way, I'd actually really like to see how Old Freddy™ would be in today's DBD.
-
Bring back old Freddy with some of New Freddy's mechanics (a la the teleport) and replace some of the old ones (like the constant aura reading) and see how he plays. If Sadako can find relative success being fun despite being a basic M1 killer then he might be able to too.

His argument essentially boils down to
"if you remove it, more blights will use bump logic aka playing him the way he's intended to be played and survivors will hate this because it has little to no counterplay/it's more effective than hug tech"
Despite the fact that normal Blight is pretty balanced and has counterplay so...
???
It's an extremely weak argument
Hang on a second
Wasn't that the exact same argument for keeping j-flicks? And moonrushes? And every other Blight exploit under the sun?
"X exploit is fine because it's actually weaker than bump logic" is such a funny argument to me

It was their mistake to say it wasn't intended. They said that in response to negative feedback, not because it wasn't what they intended. The projectile dodging being really hard might not have been part of their plan, but maybe that's just a wake up call to how easy dodging is. Huntress throws a hatchets slightly to the right? Don't even have to dodge, complete miss. Huntress throws it at you? Twitch at the last second and it misses. Same goes with Deathlinger, Victor, Plague vomit, any ranged attack you can think of. Y'all are using BHVR's "broken promises" as an excuse to not have to make an argument against the animations. They allowed killers to lunge and actually get a hit, and y'all think that's a bad thing.
1) I'm saying why there was outrage, not my own opinion. BHVR said there would be no changes and there were changes, which made people angry. Do you deny that there were changes to how hitboxes worked- if these were, in your opinion, good or bad changes is irrelevant.
2) If you're struggling this much to land a hit on a survivor because of a 360 then idk what to tell you, the only times I ever get spun are when I'm not even paying attention to the screen. It's really not that difficult to counter and 9 times out of 10 gives me downs on overly-cocky survivors
-
There's no struggle phase because it would be a complete waste of time. That said, I'd have no complaints to the final survivor just getting the 900 Survival points.
-
@danielmaster87 said:

No, the hitboxes did function properly, for the first time in a long time. Survivors could no longer just spin their joystick and reliably deny a killer their rightful attack. Removing the animations entirely and going back the old ones was complete overkill.
So, the hitboxes changed how they worked, and therefore BHVR broke another promise.

Okay can we just stop with grouping all survivors together, cuz I can easily do that with killers who do the same #########, but guess what not all killers want an easy game, and I realize that.
Yes, hopefully killers get an FOV change for those with accessibility issues, but it probably won't be done because those without accessibility issues could easily abuse this system. Want to pull out second change though, Rancor and NOED are two great examples, Rancor you can mori a survivor who you didn't even hook a single time, NOED is free insta-down if you got two hooks the whole game. But in the end, guess what I see these perks ran as much as I've seen people 360 is rarely.
I myself have witnessed 360s that were going to be amazing, until they got hit cuz the killer didn't instantly swing, and guess what, the killer was on console (I'm on Xbox so I see the other Xbox players), and I've 360ed killers who were probably on PC (had special characters in user that can't be there on Xbox and PS4)
TL;DR - Don't group everyone on either side together, it's dumb, irrational, and immature. Both sides have second chance perks, that's all there is to it. Also killers do need better FOV, but the developers would have to find a way to do it without it being exploited by those without the accessibility issue.
Can we stop necroing threads from months ago now, please

Sprint Burst used to have a 20 second cooldown.
Not Exhaustion, a 20 second cooldown.
That, or release-DS.

I've seen worse but if you think it was that bad chuck in a report. Chat offences are the only things that don't need extra effort to report, and I know they give them out because a friend of mine has been banned on like 4 different accounts for it lmfao (1 account went through the entire escalation system, 3 went from nothing to permanent, as per BHVR's rules)
You just don't get updated if anything happens, and because the very first stage of the escalation system is a warning into about 4 temporary bans, you're very unlikely to see results.

Of course.
Rebecca has really good perks, Wesker seems like he might be kinda fun but I'd need to playtest, and Ada is probably gonna be my new main. Plus, I need that Sheva cosmetic. My life literally depends on it

And anorher RPD rework but this time it actually fixes the issues
An RPD rework that accidentally ends in BHVR deleting the map whoopsies

I like the game map. It is a map of pallets. To reduce those pallets is to add more windows. I quite enjoy how windowless it is.
Idk let's keep the 28 pallets but we change the entire layout of the map so they're not unmindgameable anymore. Another compete rework (though this may need to wait until after Swamp + Mother's Dwelling)

It comes under the trade rule. Sharing or gifting of codes has always come under that rule - hence posts have been removed and people received notification from us many times in the past.
Wonderful, I wasn't 100% if it did or didn't come under that one. Thank you so much <3

What if they are running Inner Healing or Overzealous? This perks might compete with CoH, but they are totally viable and need cleansed totems as ammunition.
Also don't rule out the occasional NOED that might get canceled outright; I did pull of a few of those single-handedly, just to proof the point that you can "do bones" without much of a detriment to the team or "basically throwing the game".
Plague, not Totems.

What @ThatOneDemoPlayer is stating is that none of these changes improve/change position of the killer. They're meaningless changes that do nothing
- Decreased max visible range while demanifested to 24m (was 32m) -> Does nothing due to Lullaby
- Decreased Terror Radius to 24m (was 32m) -> Does not help with stealth, Lullaby
- Decreased the amount of Condemned removed when inserting a tape to 3 segments (was 4 segments) -> Does not help with building up.
- Decreased time taken to passively gain a condemned segment while holding a tape to 25 seconds (was 30 seconds) -> No one pick up tapes
- Add-on: Yoichi’s Fishing Net: Decreases time taken to passively gain a condemned segment while holding a tape by 12% (was 20%) ->Unnecessary weak add-on change.
- What does make an impact are killer negative changes such as:
- Pinhead:
- Iridescent Lament Configuration: Increased range to 24 meters (was 16 meters)
- Engineer's Fang: When hitting an injured Survivor with a possessed chain, only 1 additional chain will spawn
- Larry's Remains: Decreased solving time modifier to 2 seconds (was 4 seconds)
- Liquified Gore: Decreased solving time modifier to 1 second (was 2 seconds)
- Deathslinger:
- Increased terror radius to 32 meters (was 24 meters)
- The Deathslinger must now wait for the Enter Aim animation to complete before being able to fire (0.4 seconds)
- The Deathslinger must now wait for the Exit Aim animation to complete before being able to attack (0.6 seconds)
- Spirit:
- While phase walking Survivors within 24 meters of The Spirit (not the husk) hear a directional audio cue that gains volume with proximity
- Revisited add-ons
there is difference between high impact changes that weaken their best add-on & defining strength in base-kit vs meaningless changes for Sadako that still cement her as m1 killer with low impact ability.
And none of those changes were on release.

my hours do get rather weird indeed lol...not for long though, big move imminent
And just as an FYI our hosting provider has a fantastic customer support that really help us with the issues that we occasionally have, I really do not need to bully them in the slightest. They're super helpful and really try to work within the customisation that we have on this forum.
Ooo that's exciting! Here's hoping your terrible luck with injuring yourself on kitchen appliances doesn't follow you lol

Honestly I loved that game. It took anything good about the story of Man of Medan and improved on all the terrible things.
It still doesn't outclass House of Ashes, though. And hopefully The Devil In Me will keep improving the formula.
