May I add
The italian translations make my brain bleed a little every time I see them
Like, yeah, there are multiple *technically correct* ways to translate certain words from english to italian, but BHVR consistently picks the most obscure and weird ones to do so
It's fun though to mention the italian name of a perk or a killer in the middle of the match just to get a reaction from my SWF, so it's not all a negative
My favourite thing is how in German ever killer is "Der/Die/Das [Name]" based on of the name is masc/fem/neut, except for Nemesis. Nemesis is literally just "Nemesis". Not even Demogorgon gets that treatment- it's "Der Demogorgon"- but Nemesis is literally just Nemesis. And nobody I've spoken to knows why.

Definitely? Well, the common sense would presuade me to believe that, but I'd actually like to take a look into the details..
I've seen gameplay of the perk it's absolutely the English version
Plus it's supported by the Asian translations and those are also almost entirely correct

I propose a new Forums event: Seal Saturday. Every user is required to post a photo of a seal before they can make any comments or discussions for the day.

This seems like something cool that people would enjoy for all of 2 seconds before getting bored and going back to regular dbd

God forbid a company wants to make money from a product they create and sell in a commercial market.
The very backbone of western civilisation is built on capitalism, does a supermarket owe you free food because you are hungry?
I wish they did, but unfortunately they don't.

I do agree that it is strong in swf, and that solo queue is ######### rn, but the perk is still strong as long as ur not playing bad, run kindred then boom 2-4 problems solved, u will know if someone is going for the resque, u will know if anyone is going to stop the hook timer, u will know if u should do any of those two
Solo queue shouldn't have to use perks, items, add-ons or offerings to get the same information SWF do at base and to think they should perpetuates the balance issues in the game

How tho, it is legit 40 seconds wasted of the killers time, how is that not useable on solo q, find hooked survivor, press 1 button boom! 40sec wasted if the killer is facecamping
30 seconds of the killer's time, to start with.
And this is solo queue, you have no coordination. 2 people get off a gen simultaniously to use the perk? One person has just wasted all that travel time that could be on a gen. You heading over? Still travel time with no guarantee someone's on a gen. You're heading over and someone saves? Wasted time. You use the perk but someone saves anyway? Wasted time.
SWF efficiency will make the perk strong. Solo queue will struggle to use it.
-
Because it was a lazy way of changing it that made it nigh-awful in solo queue, horrible against campers, and is yet another perk that only SWF on comms will be able to get good value out of

All European languages seem to be left in the dust except for English (apparently the Asian languages are pretty solidly done and well-updated so, good for them). German is hilarious (and outdated), Polish a shitshow (and outdated), I think Rizzo has mentioned aspects of Italian are- you guessed it- outdated.

Having a release button would be counterproductive. Since we have so many survivors that hook suicide, they would simply spam that button whenever they don´t like something about the match.
At this point if someone wants out of a match them hook suiciding is a best case scenario and I'd rather let them die. There's been so many games where they get saved only to drop every single pallet on the map then find a teammate and do nothing but make noise near them until the killer eventually kills that survivor. It's a piss take.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153716#Comment_3153716
Honestly? They should increase the range drastically and keep the rest like it is. That way a survivor couldn´t be kept on the hook forever, but solos could also prevent hook suicides of their teammates when they can´t reach the hook in time.
Oh increasing the range would be great for solo too, since it means you won't waste the 30 seconds Reassurance gives you running to and from the Survivor when there's no guarantee that anyone except for yourself is on a gen.
I just wish that a survivor could be kept on hook forever if that survivor so wanted to- knowing that nobody is doing anything except keep them hostage, they are able to activate the stop button and they will progress hook stages like normal, forcing the survivors to save them or let them die, or knowing that someone is cranking out gens while they get facecamped and 2 people tag-team them with Reassurance and for some ungodly reason the killer isn't looking around for someone who keeps using the perk they could choose to hold on until almost endgame when those 2 people can swoop in with BT and take a hit.
-
Hot take indeed
I'd rather face a Nurse in solo. Equally as little chance at winning but at least it'll be over quicker

Maybe the devs will reconsider if no one uses the new perks...
... who am i kidding... they won´t take a look at them for another year. Meh...
I just hope they revert their Reassurance change and make it so that hooked survivors can opt-out of any future uses of it to make it far more useable in solo tbh
I know they won't, but I can hope.

Wut? Rebeccas perks are bad? Better than new will be new meta for gen rush squads.
Better Than New no longer buffs gen speed, turning it from a potential okay perk (PTB) to a meta perk (what we both thought it was) to a useless perk (after realising it no longer increases gen speed). Leader is better than it.
@ topic
I'll still get the DLC. Ada Wong outsold everyone in the past DLC except for Claire and Rebecca is iconic too. Plus since we're getting Wesker we have to be getting Sheva, and I have to get her since she's my favourite RE character and without her I'll literally die

Except for her killrate which is basically the only statistic they share with us. Lol.
That's why I said reasonably measure. Anyone who uses kill rate, and nothing but kill rate, of one specific singular killer gets mocked in these forums for a reason.
-
If a game restart doesn't fix it then submit a ticket to Support and hope
-
that's normally how this works. the game needs a ratio of 1:4 killers:survivors. if the ratio is closer to 1:2 then naturally queue times for the killer side will be massively out of whack since there's more than double the necessary killer players.

We can debate the best perk all day, but it doesn't address the main point. You're only on the right side of this if your opinion is that literally every single premium killer and perk is worse than every freely available killer and perk.
You're only on the right side of this if your opinion is that literally every single premium killer and perk is worse than every freely available killer and perk.
Perk? No. But I've never tried arguing for perks once. That's not the argument I'm putting forward here, and never once have I mentioned them. I'm simply arguing for killers, and I am objectively correct in that The Nurse, a free to play character, is objectively better than every premium, licenced or non-licenced, by any reasonably standard of measurement that applies to DBD.
-
@Fac_attack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153370#Comment_3153370
If one game character of many in a competitive game is "objectively" the best, then you're also saying this is a completely imbalanced game.
Which would be interesting since many PtW games are. Which brings back the central issue.
Except in P2W games the objectively best character's aren't, you know, free and available the second you boot up the game.
-
@Fac_attack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153364#Comment_3153364
Again, "best killer" is subjective and therefore a moot point
Not really, Nurse is objectively the best killer in DBD by any metric you can possibly reasonably measure by. Only one other killer (Blight) comes close to challenging her, and even then he doesn't really stand a chance.

Ghostface is great, but don't forget about all the paid Survivor perks that counter all the paid Killer powers. It's utter BS - for example, the best perk against Mike Meyers is the one that comes in the same paid DLC LMAO.
There's really no defending this.
the best perk in the game against Myers is Spine Chill which is like a free perk lmao please don't tell me you think Sole Survivor is the best perk against him or something
-
@Fac_attack said:
It absolutely, undeniably is pay to win, by definition. Some players are only good with paid characters, hence they had to pay in order to win. Literally PtW lol.
Games like Overwatch give characters to everyone in order to keep an even playing field.
It's clear that the way DBD wants to make money is by holding the best killers/perks behind a paywall

You are getting involved in an argument about something being horror or not, without having a basic understanding of what horror means, and thinking that exceptions to the general understanding of what it means (like a sailor in Cambodia considering puffer fish to be horror or whatever) invalidate my opinion.
You can disagree with me but that doesn't make your opinion valid in any way unless you have solid arguments.
What you're basically trying to do, is undermine my opinion (That certain things in this game are not considered horror by a vast majority of people), on the pretext that it is subjective, when it's not. It's literally that simple.
You, providing exceptions to what can be considered horror is a bad argument in itself, you don't realize that you're the one being subjective on an objective matter.
You're involuntarily applying a logical fallacy to your argument, which is the relativist fallacy:
"The relativist fallacy arises when we illegitimately argue that nobody is incorrect because what is true for you is false for me, and we are both correct. Relativism is based on the idea that each culture or person creates their own truth, so nobody is objectively incorrect. Many people new drawn to relativism because they think all answers are equally good since so many philosophical questions have no final answer. Well, this is false. Imagine arguing the universe was created by a rabbit because we are not really sure how the universe began. The fact that we do not know (i.e. skepticism) does not mean every opinion is true or strong"
"What you're basically trying to do, is undermine my opinion (That certain things in this game are not considered horror by a vast majority of people), on the pretext that it is subjective, when it's not. It's literally that simple."
Sorry this is just hilarious to me, because (and again you've been pedelling your intellectual superiority for a while now here) an opinion is, by definition, something which is objectively subjective.
"a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge."
Cambridge: "A thought or belief about something or someone"
Merriam-Webster: "A view, judgement, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter"
The objective definition of horror is as follows:
"an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust."
What is shocking, disgusting, or makes you fearful is not the same as what someone else finds shocking, disgusting, or fearful. Horror is, by definition, subjective. Horror is objectively subjective.
What you believe to be horror is not the same as what someone else believes to be horror, and both people's opinions on what horror is or is not is valid, for it is entirely their own personal, subjective opinion.
Horror is relativist by definition. And as someone mentioned earlier, I'd love to see your sources for basically nobody finding Trickster scary, instead of just using what a minority of players on the Forums in the Western world believe.
Now that's a tragedy.

I was referring to when you stated that a better argument would be "A much better argument for the removal of endgame OTR/DS is "There is no feasible counter play to these perks in endgame" which is a better argument than survivors don't deserve free escapes, Especially since it was the main reason for the deactivation of DS in endgame nerf to begin with.
And OTR/DS is not basekit BT or Reassurance, is it?

Can you guess who found it easy?
id like it to be the meg because theres something very funny about the player with the least points trash talking the most
-
easy
-
And, good. Punish the player who makes the stupid unhook, don't punish the player who had no say in the matter of themselves being unhooked.
-
Gonna be a mad concept but when you could chase a survivor who's got 2 hits left in them and moves 10% faster for 10 seconds, as well as having a potential 3 second stun at the end of it all, or you could chase someone who you could probably hit fairly easily if the unhook is that unsafe meaning they've only got 1 hit left in them, moves at normal speed, and doesn't have a potential 3 second stun to undo the chase, then it's probably a better idea to, and repeat with me class: Chase! The! Unhooker!
That's right, it's a brand new gameshow coming to Netflix, Chase! The! Unhooker! is all about watching players in Dead By Daylight tunnel through built-in anti-tunnel measures even when it makes more macro sense to actually not do that, only for them to complain about those anti-tunnel measures preventing them from tunneling which causes them to throw the game instead of chasing the unhooker which, as the substantially smarter play in a lot of scenarios, actually would give them a much bigger chance at winning. Netflix exclusive, August 30th.
-
Now I'd argue this is a brilliant argument to nerf COH and not the 3 boon perks that are situational at best (hi Shadowstep) and one of the worst perks in DBD at the worst (hi Dark Theory)

Large fog surrounding the player that severely limits their view, such as early Silent Hill, yes.
Fog around the environment that moves and at times hides or doesn't hide a certain area of the map, no. It makes it worse.

It's literally not, vegans might consider animal products not to be food.
Carnivores might consider vegetables and other stuff not to be food.
Just because it's not food for them, doesn't mean it's not food for most of the people.
It's the same here, most people don't consider Trickster to be scary, just because some random lady from Japan thought he's the scariest killer doesn't mean that he's scary.
It feels like to you people, everything that can be, actually is.
A bat can be food, but is generally considered as not to be.
A pen can be a weapon, but it is generally considered not to be.
Trickster can be scary for a lady from Japan, but is generally considered not to be.
It's the way you say that other people are intellectually inferior to you because of your supreme understanding of what is and isn't horror and yet can't even remember that I said Korea not Japan. Oh that's embarrassing luv
