Why you would nerf a killer perk when survivors are in their greatest state since the game was released.
I understand that Noed rewards you for not playing well, but also do DS, BT and DH.
It feels so good to run Noed when survivors just rush 5 gens in 4 minutes. I would keep it as it is. If the perk gets more popular they will start running small game and destroying totems, which will slow down the fastest meta we ever played.
Survivors have never been weaker.
You wanna tell me no bloodlust, no exhaustion, god loops, no entity blocker, more pallets (have you seen old Blood Lodge??), two windows/two pallets per jungle gym, t-l walls having pallets, old asylum, old bnps, and old insta-heals were all weaker than what survivors have currently?
I disagree.
-
Oh wait hold on.
You get 9% haste with this perk.
Hope provides 7%.
You get a total 16% haste.
You're now moving 1% faster than most killers, 6% faster than Hag, Huntress, Slinger, and Spirit, and 20% faster than Nurse.
Let's not.

I felt almost the same about a week ago. Took a break for 4 days. Came back and I'm loving it.
My best suggestion is to take a break and enjoy the time away, it sounds like you've got a bit of burnout. Return and things become a whole lot more enjoyable.

Wasn't it introduced with 4.0.0 (silent hill) which came out like last month

Only thing i saw is server hit detection coming soon, which is awesome. However, the servers themselves are pretty crappy. I am located in the middle of the US, on a custom gaming computer, with a 400mbs line, and my ping 100+ most of the time....its the only online game i play that its that bad....
They also said they'd be increasing tick rate it 60Hz not 30Hz which is a pretty big increase.
I wish they had a way for us to select our server though so we can be sure we're playing with the correct people
-
They're testing server improvements soon™ and would've been doing it on ptb but there was a bug forcing players to the wrong servers causing some pretty high ping.
-
I would've had to say Freddy before 2 days ago but after like 2 days of playing nothing but Pyramid Head I'd have to say him instead. He's actually really fun and hitting POTD through walls is the most satisfying thing possible in the game thank you.
Freddy definitely 2nd, Wraith as 3rd, Hag as 4th, then Nurse is 5th when she doesn't make we wanna throw up and 6th when she does, Doctor taking her place wherever she goes. I don't play anyone else lol.

Damn @NuclearBurrito didn't come into this expecting an essay but massive props for writing one.

Yes that why I put "unless its almost complete".
But if you have ruin, especially with surveillance, the information you get later from it is worth taking a chase. Especially when it's a single chase because if you can grab them you can hit them.
-
@HectorBrando said:
Actually is better to grab people out of a gen unless its almost complete since you are bypassing a chase that can last several minutes.
But man, the gen doesn't regress and you can't make it regress by doing so. You cock yourself especially if the gen is almost done.

You mean tgey can't do it if i don't want to?
For some people, me included, it's really annoying and i can't just turn a lever in my head to be fine with it. My solution is to give them a miserable match experience most times. You got off the hook and used yoir DS already? Shouldn't have clicked.
No, I mean that I've got some pretty severe anger issues but I try my best to keep positive about it. I'll laugh at their mistakes because if you do that you best be some godly player, I'll head nod when you're downed, especially if you get dedicated. But I don't let it ruin the rest of my experience because I do my best to play for fun, and I'm going to play for fun.
The only exception is when they're extremely toxic, in which case I just don't chase em. Interaction is the best part of the match so sure, follow me around all game or have fun holding M1 for the next 3 minutes :) sounds like a riveting gameplay experience amiright?
-
I've had so many people message me telling me I need to l2p because I got a flashlight save on them or looped them on one tile for like 4 gens. At the same time I've been told to l2p because I was "camping" (literally saw three other people) or "tunneling" (sure then mate why didn't I ever get hit with ds?). It goes both ways but I'm genuinely surprised and it makes my day when someone comments on my steam profile like "+rep nice player" or something even better. The hours of pain is worth it for the one guy who appreciates me trying not to tunnel him and goes into steam to tell me he had fun.
-
The fact you used Trapper and not Tarpper in your title brings me pain

Well, you shouldnt ignore the experience a player has, and i believe rank does mean something. While it is easy to get in high ranks, there are still people who cant do that (as killer mostly), and thats because they lack skill (to keep up with their matches, often due to the said bad matchmaking).
But streaming is an argument for nothing, there are a lot of streamers who lack competence. Talking about corona on tv doesnt make trump a scientist, streaming their games and commenting doesnt make a streamer good or especially insightfull.
I meant the fact that because ei streamed it you could see how I play and thus make a judgement from there.
Again can I remind people I said NOED didn't need a nerf solos just needed a totem counter.
-
I'd put Billy and Freddy up higher, and drop Oni to Bubba level, but mostly I agree. I especially agree with Spirit having her own tier of unfun-ness.
Edit: I just saw you describe spirit as, "Disgusting angry sewage girl who sounds like a crunchy and upset minecraft villager." and I've never seen something so bizarre yet so accurate.

Don't get me started on how much I love that build lol.
-
I wish to disagree that it's a part of their job. I can get by without being "toxic" (at least by my standards) so idk why you think it's required to play killer.
Of course you can play however you want, but it's not part of your job to ruin someone else's experience, like it isn't part of your job to ensure everyone has a great time. That's the great thing about a game; you can play it however you want.
-

Neither
I use Inner Strength or rely on team mates. Self care is too slow hence I love it when I am playing killer and I see survivors Self Caring, and medkits are limited amount of heals and I seem to get hit rather a lot (body blocking for team mates and things like that). So Inner Strength is perfect, you heal quickly even through perks such as Sloppy Butcher etc.
Inner Strength Gang rise up.
-
Both for me.
I've always called myself a survivor main and said I played more but according to some friends I play nothing but killer when I'm not in a SWF (which, I mean, mostly true) so at this point I'm not too sure. Been playing since November 2017, first hit rank 1 as killer January 2018 and rank 1 survivor January 2019- currently pretty consistent with being rank 1.
-
If you have Video/photo evidence just report them using bhvr's system? That's how you get them banned?
-
I wish we'd get a totem counter to help solo players along but stick that in and noed is fine. Once solos get an easier way to keep track of totems cleansed I'll no longer have an issue with the phrase "do bones".
-
Oh no the devs buffed a perk and had to have something to tier it what a shame.

Rank doesn't mean anything in this game LOL are you unaware of matchmaking?
Oh okay so me being a rank 20 means my argument is as credible as a rank 1?
Just gonna ignore the rest of it, the 4 hour livestream, me playing mostly killer when I do stream unless a friend wants to swf, nope focus on the rank.

Bumping with an update: 5 games in and I've decided on the stats to collect.
- Survivor Played
- Perks used
- Offerings used
- Items used
- Add-ons used
- Survivor and killer ranks (based upon the end-game screen).
- Pipped or not?
- Map and Realm played
- How many times was each player hooked?
- Did they die?
- Eas EGC initiated
- Gens completed
- Match length
- Queue length
- Time of day queue began
I think this is pretty comprehensive. Not all, but a lot of games, will be live so there will be proof to all these stats.

What would be bills power.
Good question... Hm...
4.6m/s.
Power: Dimensional Deluge
Your power over the third-dimension grants you great strength, as you tear down laws like rain.
Hold the Power Button to activate Dimensional Deluge. Any survivors currently repairing a generator have their auras revealed for the duration of the channel.
Special Attack: Dimensional Slash
Whilst using Dimensional Deluge, press and hold the Attack Button to charge up Dimensional Slash. Releasing the power button releases a wave attack in a cone in front of you, increasing in range depending on how long it was charged for. Any survivors caught in this wave are damaged for one health state.
Special Ability: Dimensional Skip
Whilst using Dimensional Deluge, hold the Active Ability Button to charge Dimensional Skip. An indicator appears on your screen whilst charging this, and you gain 6m of distance every second you charge, up to a maximum of 60m. Releasing the Active Ability Button at any time during the charge triggers Dimensional Skip. After a short time, teleport to the location of your indicator. Dimensional Skip is then placed on cooldown.
Perks:
Dimensional Deluge
Your rule over dimensions causes unforseen changes to your environment.
After breaking 4/3/2 pallets, the next time you are stunned a random pallet on the map is dropped, or a random dropped pallet is broken.
Evil Enchantment
You reciete evil words to gain an evil advantage. As the game progresses, your power grows.
For every generator completed, gain a stack. For each stack, recover from Successful and Missed attacks 5%/5.5%/6% faster.
[cant think of a third perk lol]
-
Lads I've found the Daily Matchmaking Post.
-
Okay so question about the first perk- is it move at 103/105/107% speed, or move 103%,105%,107% faster? Reminder that Sprint Burst moves you at 150% speed, or 50% faster.
I like the third perk though- I could see a lot of stealthy players using it.
I like the ideas about the map too, but I do think having a Killer would be needed for this, and who better than Bill lol?
-
It vanishes from the map.

Well, one could argue that bad players shouldnt be playing against high ranks in the first place. But as they do, yes, they need something to boost them.
And make solo lifes great again can´t happen as long as the devs need to balance between solos and swf. They just need to split solo and swf play and rebalance both modes. If the match against solos is as balanced as against swf, there is also no reason not to play vs swf.
Also, i dont get the argument that noed rewards bad killers for failing their objective. Their objective is to kill the survivors. How exactly is it rewarding them for not killing anyone?
Yeah, and that's a matchmaking issue which will hopefully be fixed soon. Hardly optimistic since they said June and it's currently July but, ya know.
"Make solo lives great again can't happen as long as the devs need to balance between solos and swf." That's what I said, a totem counter. To help solos know how many totems remain on the map, bringing them a step closer to being equal to swf. Once solos and SWF are closer in power, the devs can superbuff killers and everyone can be happy.
"i dont get the argument that noed rewards bad killers for failing their objective. Their objective is to kill the survivors. How exactly is it rewarding them for not killing anyone?"
It's less rewarding them for not doing their objective as it's giving them a massive powerspike at endgame. Which, go for it. I don't have an issue with the perk so long as solos get a reliable way to count totems without needing to dedicate another perk to getting info SWF have for free. If NOED gets used in endgame builds? Cool. If it's used by great killers? Great. If it's used by bad killers? Sure. But make solo survivors' lives less of a living hell first & give them a totem counter so they know if their teammates are doing totems or not.

Is this in PTB only? As far as I know you can still change killers in the actual lobby so you can just change it when there's the minute timer.
Yep this is PTB only and I can only assume it's because each killer has a seperate MMR rating, and so you dont wanna queue up as Bubba with a low rating (cause you dont play him) then switch to Freddy (who you play a lot) in the lobby to get easy matches.
-
AFAIK yep. They'll be there for achievement purposes but MMR and those should be seperate.

Forgive me, the "noed is a crutch" triggers me, and I do not see it as a valuable angle of discussion. It's simply a tactic used to shame other players and has zero constructive input in regards to the perk.
Noed has been nerfed and adjusted multiple times into what it is today, with both survivors and killers having ways to run "endgame builds" - on survivors I run wake up, adrenaline, hope builds regularly, but I also used to run Blood Warden Freddy when I mained him and grew so tired of the "noed is a crutch" threads over the past 3 years. Shaming someone for running an endgame build in a game that supports that playstyle seems silly to me. Id Blood Warden a crutch too?
Everyone runs a perk that could be considered "crutch"
I know that it's annoying but I promise I have actual reasoning for me calling it a crutch.
Back in the days of old when I started playing I used NOED and never removed the perk. I'd been carried up to higher ranks than I should've been by it, and got no kills (sometimes not even a down) until it activated, at which point I'd camp and prey on altrustic survivors. This was back with the Victory Cube.
I managed to get myself perma-banned thanks to VAC and since then turned over a clean slate. Not dont anything that could even remotely trigger VAC or EAC, and I've been completely legit for ages. I didn't use NOED and wanted to see how far I could get without it. I started learning to mindgame effectively, learned how to split pressure, which perks were good for whom. Enduring/Spirit Fury (when it came out_ used to be my best friend and I loved the combo on people right up until the Freddy Rework and I learned how to Wraith Super Lunge(tm).
Obviously you can be an amazing player and use NOED. You can use NOED in a build focused around endgame. But I see so many bad killer boosted up to higher ranks because of the perk, and that's why I believe it to be a crutch perk, because it well and truly was a crutch for me. Without it I couldn't play.
I promise, when I call something a crutch perk, there's proper reasoning behind it; not just spewing it left and right.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1434417#Comment_1434417
what i basically did with gens is make it where it doesn't take 4 seconds for 2 people to pop a gen and allows the killer time to get there. Also voice comms go well with that rework since you can have multiple working on one gen at once while someone is getting chased which can severely harm a killer if he tunnels. Let's say he chases for about 80 seconds and 2 people are working on a gen while someone is by themselves on another gen. That would be 1 gen popping(65 seconds if 2 people are working on one generator since 130/2 is 65) and another having decent progress(80/130) is decent). Also if they gen rush with 3 people on one gen while someone is chased then you have an even faster gen speed(about 43 seconds) so the gen rush is manageable for the killer but not heavily kicking the survivors to the curb. Also making games longer should compensate for gen times. Now anti gen perks should be toned down a little at least until people get used to it. and i never said you can't have easy wins you are put words in my mouth lmao. So what do you think about these adjustments. Also the fun should be the chase not the objectives.
It's much more ineffecient for multiple survivors to work on the game gen. It isn't 65 seconds, there's a 15% action speed penalty. So it's technically 1.7 charges per second, not 2. This means that it'd take 130/1.7 seconds, or 76.47 seconds for a 2 stacked on one gen. This is almost as slow as a solo gen now.
I disagree heavily.
The devs have said they're looking into ways of slowing down the early game.
