Just like nurse needs to be reworked for balance so does swf. Since y'all are capable of realizing that nurse needs to be balanced, then you can admit that swf needs to be balanced right?

My post did acknowledge that, but that doesn't negate the fact that nurse needed to be looked at especially now with the adjustments of maps.

  • Nurse needed to be changed, the game is changing, maps are changing, to make the game balanced for both killer and Survivors. And Nurse herself is a killer that completely messed with the balance. Yes there are hardcore swf, but it's easier to work on nurse first than tackle swf.

Noone should also be punished based on the assumption every swf is a depip squad.

Nurse and Hardcore swf are just like the maps, a game design issue. And all 3 are being worked on currently.

  • It's one of the only ways to counter 360s aside from just tapping m1.

If we were to limit lunge, that would be like limiting movement for Survivors to prevent attempting to dodge a killers attack.

    None are great ideas imo.

  • Common and uncommon add-ons are underrated

  • You're overreacting imo. Legion actually wasn't good for the game, Plague in PTB would've been OP if left unchecked, and GhostFace wasn't even nerfed, he just had a few add-on adjustments and Detection adjustments for fair play.

  • My long range aim with corrupt Purge as my baby plague <3

Also, fully breaking my target with vile Purge then downing them, the sweet damage stack ohhh...

    <3~

  • I'd say it's well deserved, if they're changing maps and aspects of the game she would need to change with it.

  • I just had a game against some high rank Survivors, and demolished them because I was so on point, you know you're doing pretty well when they DC on you in the very beginning xD at the end, they told me I was sweaty

  • Doctor is very annoying and unfun to go against when you have a good one, Nurse is...nurse

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

If her and her addons get nerfed I will indeed be happy.

    Same

  • Using them imo doesn't help you pip, the satisfaction you get from the kill for me isn't worth just black pipping and essentially having the match be useless.

  • I really enjoyed it, it was so cute. I would love to see more!

  • @TheShape78 said:

I haven't seen this myself yet, but why do they keep adding things like this that literally no one asked for? First it was the annoying red pallet stun effect, now this. It's almost like the developers are sitting there going, "for the next update, we're going to add this completely unnecessary thing, oh the players are gonna love it!" No, if we did, we would ask for it. They need to stop adding random things out of nowhere for no apparent reason, that's all I'm saying.

They're just trying to spice things up...

  • Hey, if you all really like looping, that's fine. I just want those of us who prefer a different playstyle to have the choice for stealth.

If we all can agree to that, I don't see how there can be any problems.

Clearly I was ranting in my initial post because at the time I was so fed up with looping. It just looks weird for one when a characters body is leaning on the wall running from you down to the most accurate pixel.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

As it is, people that play “stealthy” do next to nothing in the matches I have been in. To enforce it would just mean that many people would not want to touch a gen. So it’s a no from me.

Also, I don’t agree that loops are unbalanced when you take into consideration that killers bloodlust at the loop anyway. So they will catch up.

I get that some are immersed, but remember even though there are 4 of you, the other person doesn't have to help others. Ultimately they just need to survive. I feel like DBD has lost this essence over the years, everyone claims it's a team game and it can be but really all the actions you take as a survivor should be consequential and make you think if you should do it. I don't know, maybe I'm stuck in the past.

  • @GrootDude said:

Imo removing looping would make the game really boring, I’ve played against plenty of squadettes and it wasn’t fun playing hide and seek with them.

The Claudette skin is an oversight, they never intended for her to just blend in with the environment.

I remember when this game first came out, stealth was still alot more viable, spine Chill was meta whispers helped out alot even against claudettes.

...it was so different back then now it's just run in a circle because you can't do anything else.

I just need the devs to help those of us who want stealth to be more viable. Maybe calm down on aura perks?

Or, maybe it's because it is a complete snoozefest for both sides for almost anyone who has 1000 hours in the game. Watch any streamer with thousands of hours and see what they do the most. Stealth becomes very boring to many players very fast, I myself got tired of stealth after my first 5 days of playing the game. I can guarantee you myself and many many others wouldn't be playing right now if this game was oriented around stealth.

The game was initially oriented around stealth when it first released but Survivors found the unintended exploit of looping and devs just went with it and now claim it as a feature in the game. There are many people who like stealth why do you all keep thinking everyone likes to run the killer around in circles? Not everyone does.

  • First off I am trying my best to remain respectful to you all because some of the things you've posted to me have been downright disrespectful. So that's a reason why I'm not responding so much.

Secondly, obviously there's not much that can be done about looping, however the amount of time that can be stalled for a loop is a problem, and I personally feel both tactics should be viable, even as Survivor I like to play stealthy but I really can't because so much of the majority just want to run the killer around. And the amount of aura perks on both sides prevent this.

Honestly, I would like to see both playstyles merited. Instead of the game kind of forcing you to be in chase so much of the time.

I feel like you aren't listening to anyone's responses at all. They aren't saying that you should hide after being hurt, they think you should want to hide and remain unfound.

Sure, some perks do prevent that. And if stealth were to become more prominent, they would need to be adjusted. But as of current, Survivors hold the advantage over most killers in both chases and stealth. Due to heartbeat and redstain, only two (pig and GF) and 1/3 (tier one MM) are capable of doing stealth stuff.

And then when it comes to chases, survivors in general have an advantage over killers. Killers can hit and grab and use powers of course, as well as move faster, but survivors have a lot more at their disposal than any killer. Huntress on standard had (i think) five hatchets. Survivors have at least triple that many pallets. Billy is capable of moving at immense speeds and instadowning. But you can hop through a window, use an ability like DH or SB (which actually makes you just as fast as billy), or even pallet slam them out of it.

Nobody here is saying Looping should be removed entirely from the game (short of joking about). They are saying the game should put more of an emphasis on stealth instead of just looping, which as of since the beginning, looping is a better option. There is no fear or suspense to playing this game, like at the beginning. Unless you get a select few killers such as Nurse, Billy, or Spirit, the only time the game is scary (unless you are immersion or new) is when you get snuck up on by one of the silent killers or find out they are running an exposion item.

So calm down and see these things through. I main killer and even I think removing looping entirely is stupid. But there should be more viability to other options other than ring a round a rosey when you play against a killer

Thank you so much, everytime I said something it was misinterpreted. You understand.

  • Can you show some Plague Statistics and how well she does in Red Ranks? I'm a plague main and would like to see some data

  • @warlord2252 said:

Ok easy solution that I do. Its obvious when I find an infinite loop. Step 1 Take the stun bust the pallet. Step 2 Leave the short loops! Good example preschool map red car in the drive by the ambulance. I leave any pallet I can get to either side of quickly. Then when a survivor uses it they eventually crawl to slow or jump the gun and I get the down. Step 3 If all else fails walk away and count to like 10 then go to the gen closest to where they looped you. Most survivors that know where the loops are know where the gens are. Thats my tactic if they still out run me and pop gens well ig they are just better than me and thats totally fair and chill. Just try not to rub it in when you win or waste time gloating.

This is one of the most helpful responses thank you so much :)

No, again you're misinterpreting things. The essence of being a survivor is not to be found by the killer, so shouldn't you not want to be found by the killer rather than trying to get into a needless chase?

    You really need to chill.

    ...

Why comment if you don't want to discuss something if your opinion is already biased. You're not changing anyone's minds here same as we can't change your mind. Maybe leave if you've nothing else to say?

This is the dumbest reply I've ever read

"You don't want to be found so you just shouldn't be found".

Yea, let me just do these objectives that are marked clearly for the killer while also hiding from her the entire game??????

No, again you're misinterpreting things. The essence of being a survivor is not to be found by the killer, so shouldn't you not want to be found by the killer rather than trying to get into a needless chase?

Not attempting to hide or evade increases your chances of being in a chase.

" Why is the first reaction to do laps around a car rather than go and attempting to hide."

Is essentially the same as telling people to hide and not let the killer see you.

And then, shouldn't you not want to be found in the first place by the killer?

No it's not, I said that in exaggeration and it was also a question. You're misinterpreting so much and then on top of that you sound real pompous.

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/596066#Comment_596066

Seeing as you're so good, tell me how that helps in a chase situation, dude.

You do realise survivors are slow when they walk? Killers are fast, you can't just instantly hide, killers have tracking perks like whisperers, which makes it pretty easy to find someone even if they're hiding.

but sure dude, you keep pushing the trash stealth ideas and pretend this game will work solely on stealth and a couple of pallets and windows.

There needs to be a balance of both types of play, and that's what I myself an getting at. Currently stealth isn't as viable and that's because of some perks but also because the majority just wants to chase, and that's fine but there need to be other mechanics which would encourage stealth as well. Right now this game is just all about loops

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/596045#Comment_596045

Do you play survivor at all?

"Just hide behind something and hope the killer doesn't see you"?

jfc I'm glad the devs ignore the forums for suggestions.

Excuse me? When and where did I say that? I didn't. So idk where you got that from.

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/596034#Comment_596034

Can you actually think for a second.

How does a pallet work without anything around it? It needs to operate like it does right now, should we just have freestanding pallets? lmao.

Survivors already die most of the time, people are already pushing for more objectives, the survival rate at rank one is like 43% or some ######### and you want even more, ridiculous.

I'm not saying you don't have a point that looping will always be there, but it certainly can be mitigated. Why is the first reaction to do laps around a car rather than go and attempting to hide. There are honestly somethings in this game that are ridiculous.

  • @Damarus said:

You know, I would also love for the game to have a more stealthy approach, to be given the chance to do so. As a survivor, all you do is running. Once the killer finds you, he's not gonna let hold of you until he downs you, even if he has to chase you for 5 gens (most of the time). All you can do is loop, because even when you stun the killer with just the first pallet you find, and even if said killer ISN'T using Enduring, stuns last too little to give you any chance of making the killer lose sight on you. You want to live, you loop. If we have to be fair, though, there are many things that should be removed, killer side too. Yesterday I played a match against a Hillybilly. Now, once you are facing a Billy, you already know he's only ever going to down you with his chainsaw; the vast majority of Billy players won't even try to hit you with their main weapon. Not only that though, he was also camping. After hooking a survivor, he placed himself in a bee line from the hook, far enough not to lose points for camping, with his chainsaw active. Then, when someone came in for the unhook, he sprinted from where he was and downed him. Now please, don't come and tell me this is a legit strategy or anything like that. If you want to be taken seriously, that is. Being hit through pallets or windows is another thing. The same cheap Billy guy aforementioned also hit me with the chainsaw over a damn brick wall. I'd say killer mains have much more stuff going on for them than survivors do, even though I know the pain of being looped.

The game is just terribly balanced overall tbh, I love the game to pieces, but it's issues run very deep

  • @PyroDude said:

I do the same with items on my survivor main, Tapp.

Time and time again the art team is just killing it with these cosmetics- "Shout out to those Jane 3D modelers out there, you're doing god's work"

But I digress, most of the apes on these forums are either gonna say "TOO LONG DIDNT READ" or just gonna kiss the dev's a*#@! and say "Give them more time, WE HAVE YEAR 4 COMING UP!??"

Even thought the dev's had had over 3 years + to get the meta changed, perks fixed, add new gameplay content, etc etc.

    Preach.

Yes because of them my one and only Plague now has a new wonderful cosmetic. We Plagues don't get much but when we do I say it's worth it

Oh and the more I play her, the more I feel she doesn’t really need buffs. She’s in a good solid place, even against survivors that think they’re clever by not cleansing (they always eventually do when I make them realise their mistake)

She needs small numerical tweaks really, not full buffs but stuff like slightly faster charge speed of vile and a slightly less cumbersome cooldown, maybe a second or 2.

To the OP's point (hi @Gardenia we should play more soon!), yes, it sucks that skilled players have no incentive to NOT intentionally de-rank so that they can coast through easy games versus mismatched opponents for kicks.

The developers should fix this by attaching clear meaning and rewards to the ranking system, kinda like how every other competitive game with a ranking system has done. It's their fault it is this way, and they deserve every ounce of criticism for allowing it to persist for three years.

Hey @Rydog yes I would love to play together again soon, we always have so much fun. Maybe tonight when I get off work lol.

But yes and tbh, the fact they let this happen is terrible and kills the motivation for some new players. It's inexcusable.

  • @PalletOrWhat said:

That's not true. You can get amazing skins (e.g. imo the best nurse skin) with shards. I really appreciate that we can use our play time to get fantastic cosmetics.

    Not everyone feels that way

  • Well first they need to fix the character animations, I don't wanna talk to someone looking like I'm hunched like a turtle.

Maybe if they tweaked the animations a bit it would be more believable and immersive.

  • Oh and also we say the nurse was terrible if she lost, because you all say how she's the power role and sets things in motion, how she's completely reliant on the players skill, so with that same coin if you lose as nurse essentially you're terrible with her.

    Going by that logic.

There has been valid points on both sides, and you saying that their has been only valid points on one side already says a lot about you, Im only saying that someone needs to close this thread because the points have already been made, nurse addons are the only things need changing, and the only reason why this is all a "mess" is because everyone is making it A mess by keeping this thread up

"Why, you all thought your echo chamber of shouting how Nurse isn't OP was gonna stop sound reason of why in fact she is?" Unnecessary rudeness and

"No keep this open, because we need to talk about this mess." its only gonna make it messier, so what do you want?

The "valid" points made on the other side have more or less been debunked. Stealth is borderline useless against her, her counterplay is negligible, and regardless even you've become skilled with her at base, that doesn't negate that she's OP. And she needs to be balanced around that.

  • Just because she takes skill doesn't negate the fact she's OP.

Similar to fighting games in balancing in general, you're supposed to balance around the characters highest potential.

Nurses highest potential breaks the game. Simple.

  • Exactly, only reason she wasn't touched yet was due to seniority in game.

  • @MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky said:

Some mod close this thread please.

Why, you all thought your echo chamber of shouting how Nurse isn't OP was gonna stop sound reason of why in fact she is? And now since valid points have been made and alot of the defenders claims have been addressed and debunked you want to forfeit by asking "mods close the thread"?

No keep this open, because we need to talk about this mess.

It is really odd how you argue here and on your stream. Sad that it is so diffrent.

See how legion turned out? I fear when bhvr will touch nurse, they make her something absolute garbage and maybe even remove one of the best things they made. Only 1 other killer comes to mind with an execution barrier in this game.

Don't pander to the legion mains to try and prove a point. She will by no means be a legion case, you're going to extremes. But she needs to be tuned down like it or not.

@Gardenia Here's a thought. Why not improve the lesser played killers so that there's more variety in the higher ranks instead of nerfing the one killer that's actually viable?

Because she's not viable, she's OP when played at 70% her potential, she needs a nerf/rework honestly. Viable for her is the biggest understatement

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 17
