I have never play nurse, besides dailies, but I think she is healthy to the game since the most killers for many people are no choice, if we think on high rank gameplay.
Would bhvr buff the most other killers to the point were they are for the majority of the killer-playerbase a alternative to the usual red rank killers, I would think differently.
Besides, as a pre patch Legion main, I am not a fan of reworks in dbd in general. It's one thing to nerf a ability, but bhvr has shown that they don't stop there.
No matter how op the nurse for some people is might be, I don't think that a second killer deserves the same treatment as the Legion before.
Noone wants that treatment. However, she needs to be tuned down.
-
It's funny how you all circle jerk trying to be biased and discuss balance but fail to see how much Nurse can be OP, yet simultaneously speak of balance and say SWF is OP and if Nurse can beat them that's balance, newsflash no, it's not balance both are OP but you all for some reason cling so tightly to Nurse it's pathetic.
-
Okay just a few things:
1) Just because she does takes skill doesn't mean she's not OP. If you balance you should balance around the highest potential of any character/Killer and her highest potential is gamebreaking and OP. She ignores chase mechanics, if you argue stealth and line of sight just know with the amount of aura perks and her extreme mobility it's borderline impossible to escape even just a decent nurse.
LoS can't be broken against even a decent nurse midchase because you have to hide and getting to a hiding place most times would leave scratch marks or blood stains (especially if she hit you)
So I'm tired of you all regurgitating the same crap. "Stealth" yeah right.
2) Someone in this thread mentioned not to use pallets and vaults, #########?
It's an effective way of getting away in chase especially given the fact she can catch up to you by literally going through walls with little cooldown. So you're suggesting, to survive a nurse, don't get in Chase?
That's almost impossible, instead you all should be wondering why do I need to not use the tools given to me in chase to escape from a killer. When those tools become ineffective, especially against a killer like nurse you can barely hide from it's a damn problem.
So your solution ultimately is not get in a chase to survive, but the point of a chase is to still have a chance to survive it. But apparently not with nurse right, you all need to stop.

I think it's about time mods create subcategories. If any new discussion contains any of the following, it automatically gets moved there, so General Discussions, Killers and Survivors don't get flooded.
- NOED
- camping
- tunneling
- Adrenaline
- Mori
- teabagging
- flashlight clicking
- Legion
- Nurse
- Haddonfield
- Ruin
- totem placement
- DS
I may have forgotten some.
Why should legion have a sub category , it's an actual problem that should addressed? They need to fix him

Agreed, please! @Peanits

I would remove aura perks/items/Add-ons from both killers and Survivors.

Honesty the answer is a simple yes. The killers clearly need more than a 70% 4k ratio.
Maybe when theres no one left playing the game on survivor side it can be killer vs killer. Mortal combat style.
Finish HIM/HER/IT! XD

Stealth. There's perks in the game for it too. It's a game mechanic too :)
Aura perks says hi
Also combine that with Nurses Insane mobility
It's negligible.
Breaking LoS midchase also isn't viable because you leave scratch marks.
How do you expect to stealth?
Use a specific set of perks that at best MIGHT give you one more second in chase?
-
And why are all 3 tiers the exact same numerical values, of 20s for one basic hits?
There aren't any differences. This perk should be looked at

Well there we have a problem: survivors do not as a whole want that. They want to have their cake and eat it, they want Nurse nerfed but everything else to stay the same. The game is in the state it is because they have persistently lobbied for it to be so and for the most part have been given everything they have ever asked for.
Game design problems ARE survivor problems.
Still don't agree, just because Survivors lobbied for something doesn't mean its all the Survivors. There are devs with minds and common sense who made this game if they wanted to do something they would, map design is not a survivors fault, hook bleed out times and mechanics are not a Survivors problem. A killer having a sucky power with 110% Ms is not a Survivors problem
-
I would like this change as well. Just because it's 12 seconds and not a big deal doesn't mean it can't be changed. In fact it should be the easiest to change.

I've had games where the killer has never seen me. If you think the killer is coming towards you leave. Equip lightweight or urban evasion. Have you made any attempt to try these tactics
Realistically, trying to be "stealthy" doesn't always work and you get killed anyway.
This isn't saying I don't try to be stealthy, but no killer just ups and leaves, if they even see the slightest scratch marks or a gen is being worked on they will search around, in lockers, and the entire area surrounding it. If you factor in the fact when you hear their terror radius, they're already very close to you so you're not going far, and when they find you you will engage in chase.
So if you play "stealthy"/immersed, and stick to Gens you will still be found because teammates die, resulting in you being the only Survivor left, with hatch found by killer and the new EGC you do that, you can be screwed over easily.

Yes I know, because it's killers who criticise other killers that matter; survivors exclude themselves from any meaningful discussion by opting for rock-bottom standards like 'not a survivor problem mate' and going straight to the devs to demand changes(which they often get) rather than debating.
When it comes to the Nurse, survivors want to apply the standards that killers agree on: that each game feature is as strong as it's utmost potential, not it's de facto use, that all things should be measured at the top-level of play. These are standards which say the Nurse might need to be changed, but also so does SWF, looping, 2nd-chance perks and the low skill-ceiling for most killers. Survivors want those standards for the Nurse, but not for anything else.
They want survivor-consensus standards for all that, which say: the vast majority of players aren't playing at that level, something over-powered on-paper isn't being used to that effect, the devs must balance for all players rather than at the ceiling. Apply those standards to the Nurse, those very low-low standards and it turns out the Nurse needs massive buffs because most people playing her are in low ranks and she has consistently the worst performance record.
So if anyone thinks double-standards are justifiable, it's about time they justified them. If not, then they'd better pick one set of standards and stick to them: either the game design needs overhauling so that it is actually fair to all killers, or the Nurse is fine because she is mostly played sub-optimally and we carry on as we currently are, with a game balanced around the low efforts of most players.
Which is exactly why I said it's a game design problem, which thanks for agreeing with me. Those people are just playing the game as Survivor just as players who are killer are just playing nurse. So yes the game design isn't very good. I agree swf, is OP as well but just because you have an OP killer going against OP swf Survivor, that doesn't mean any of it is balanced.
So yes, the game design needs an overhaul and nurse needs to be tuned down.

Don't get into a chase make a character build with a focus on disappearing quickly, coordinate with team mates to make noise when you break sight with the nurse
"Don't get into a Chase"
Wth type of advice is that? You're bound to get in a chase with a killer sooner or later and you also just conceded that you can't do anything when in chase with her in the first place. Breaking LoS barely works as in order for you to do that, you'll leave scratch marks or blood when you do so and any decent nurse will still find you.
Aura perks are also a thing now too, and also not everyone plays swf so this coordination with barely any verbal communication is limited.

It's a survivor problem because they pushed for the looping meta. Most people avoided using the nurse because of the skill required. Now with looping the nurse is the best option so people are learning to play as nurse because so many other killer can't compete with looping. Survivors choose looping to be the meta now they have to accept that they've forced the increase number of nurse mains.
Survivors didn't "Choose" anything, it was all in the developers hands to stop it when it began. But the devs now fully fledge acknowledge this as a feature of the game.
Someone else in this thread said that Nurse is like an airplane compared to other killers who are cars, and I completely agree. She bypasses nearly everything, and honestly that should not be the case.

Yeah because Nurse uses exploits like the moonwalk exploit, she mindlessly spams R1 while in her Frenzy, she had a unending mend glitch and she requires you to mend then heal once again.
And show me someone who used Nurse for 2 days and gets constant 4ks.
It's not about the Obvious "Bugs" and unintentional cheesing of a chase. It's about the ability to BARELY DO A GODDAMN THING WHEN IN CHASE.

@ArecBalrin said:

And this is the point where we're in a downward-spiral; it's one rule for survivors and a totally different set of standards for killers. Killers have an overwhelming justification for opposing anything and everything that survivors suggest because of this.
But that doesn't mean everything killers suggest are 100% feasible. There have been bs suggestions by killers who frankly throw the idea of balance out the window.
-
@ArecBalrin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/589147#Comment_589147
Ok, when do killers get the freedom to choose their playstyle then? We've been forced to be reactive to everything survivors do for 3 years now.
And? That's not a Survivors problem, just a game design problem.
-
It's funny how the devs were quick to nerf legion, because they had similar reasons as to why they were a big pain. But with nurse it's because "She takes skill", no sorry but all you need is like 2 days to actually be a decent nurse and that'll guarantee you easy 3-4ks by itself. Some of you keep trying to push it's so hard to master her, so she deserves to absolutely have 4k after 4k when that should never be the case.
I've already provided reasons why her counterplay is borderline negligible, and why she's OP simply for the fact of if she finds you, you can barely do anything in a chase, kinda like legion but noone wants to see that.

I think casual and ranked modes would be a very smart idea. The only issue is that most people would play casual leaving ranked lobbies dead.
If that happens that would confirm changing something about ranking up, maybe put in a leaderboard instead?

I like posting useless things.
Some of you all have selective memory, doing all of these mental gymnastics just to justify Nurse. If you put time into Nurse that doesn't automatically mean you should 4k every game. You're not the only person playing this game, it's multiplayer, other people put time into playing Survivor, but do they always escape? No.
On another note, OP just provided a video and as someone else commented. The fact that you have to evade a chase just to survive because it's borderline impossible to escape from a nurse means that she is OP. If you cant do ANYTHING, at all to escape chase, that's a problem. Because she ignores vaulting and pallet mechanics, you can't do anything. She can lunge with blinks, go through walls, see auras with perks....but you want us to "stealth".
We can't break LoS on a decent nurse because the player still had eyes and we have to run to a place to hide first WHICH LEAVES SCRATCH MARKS.

As a Plague main myself... where do you think she needs buffs aside from the obvious (No one is cleansing negating her Corrupt Purge) because aside from that she is fine IMO.
Interestingly enough, I would incorporate small tweaks to her vile/corrupt Purge cooldown, while also allowing her vile/corrupt charge time to be 2 seconds faster.
Her yellow add-on/slightly more effective vile Purge should be base kit.
I really wouldn't change too much, maybe she could start with just 1 pool of devotion by default.
-
Oh and then to add to this, if you have this game on different platforms you're unable to transfer data, cosmetics, and etc.
This is so screwy. I feel they're focusing on the wrong things. The gameplay has been the same for upwards of 3 years with little to no change except EGC. Yes this game is growing and can retain some players but overall to Shell out this much money on an essentially unchanging/unevolving online game is madness to me.
-
What gets me is if you decide to try and save up shards (buying through playtime) it's takes insanely long to equal the total price of either the whole outfit or just a piece of the outfit.
How are you going to claim to give us alternatives yet the alternative is borderline unreachable?
27,000+ shards for an entire outift, but not only that, MORE AND MORE of the cosmetics they're releasing are NOT PURCHASABLE WITH SHARDS, and that's a problem.
They also fragment the cost of auric cells it takes to spend on a cosmetic so you will sometimes have to buy TWO packs of auric cells to gain one cosmetic (if that).
It's becoming too much. DBD is not Fortnite, I understand they're doing what seems that everyone else is doing, but to do that at the risk of alienating your core playerbase is unforgivable.
They announced a battlepass system, and archives, okay that's fine. But that will only compound to the problem, because I can just imagine when the battlepass comes out more clothing in the cosmetics store will increase in price.
PLEASE STOP!

A perk should never reward a free health state. It never should have been in the game in the first place. It's fine as it is. It should be extremely difficult to gain a free state. It shouldn't be something you acquire through natural, normal gameplay.

Can we stop suggesting gens be longer and instead ask for another objective?
Gens shouldn't be longer than they are, sorry but that is out of the question. A second objective would be much more engaging.

Boo hoo, another killer crying about somethig ignorant like always; whining about everything. Quit the game or quit whining about a map that doesn't give you easy kills. Either one is fine.
Well have fun sitting on a hook while your teammates are on the other side of the map and can barely get to you when you hit second stage.... what's that? You would complain then because it affects you?
Btw I know this happens because I'm not a "main" of either side.

In this game, the Killer is the power role actually.
How I view it, the Survivors can't kill you, only stun you briefly. They react to what you do, if you're a good killer applying appropriate pressure with a good strategy, yes they may flashlight you and do all they can but for the majority of the time.... they're running away from you.

No they don't. I don't know what narrative you're trying to spin, but that ain't it chief.
They don't want to make any more "Nurses" they've said it multiple times, the only reason she's not touched yet is because of how tightly the primary killer playerbase clings to her.
It's not that they want an OP killer(btw thank you for admitting she's OP), it's just they don't wanna do more harm than good when trying to adjust her.
