Yes, but that kind of crap drives new players away and it does highlight a problem with matchmaking (or the lack thereof).

All they can do is two things, as I see it:

    1. Encourage/Reward Killers for NOT camping. BBQ is a good perk for that.
    2. Reduce the sting of being camped. Give Survivors a 'Distraction' bonus so they still get decent BP when a match ends, when they are camped.

The thing is; They cannot 'remove' camping, and due to programming limitations and people being people, they can't 'punish' is in any meaningful way that won't be abused.

Each side wants to win, so they will use whatever tactics they can. That includes camping, tunneling, slugging, or exploiting mechanics that punish those tactics to gain an edge. The devs can't add it in and say 'Now please don't use this to prevent your friends from dying'.

Even if they somehow removed camping; Killers would find a new way to confirm kills. Because a confirmed kill is one less Survivor doing gens or healing friends. This is what so many people don't understand.

And those that DO understand frequently just don't care. They want a punishment to feel better, and if they can twist it to deny the Killer a kill; even better!

All this, right here. Could not have said it better myself.

I think he was too powerful a killer to integrate into this game, and they screwed up. Zombies don't even have a purpose, they're stuck most of the time. Please help me to change my mind.

I've been dominating with him. I don't get why everyone else is having so much trouble using him effectively and my zombies damn near win chases for me at times, but i have learned how to build nemmy and manage them so they are always where I need them.

Would be good to point out that not every dc is intentional. Yesterday alone I got disconnected twice followed by a game error.

Just saying that not everyone you think dc’d for the reasons you think.

Every game today save one has had one or more DC's. There aren't that many people just DC'ing for good reasons, especially when they only do it after they got chased and downed and teabagged the whole chase. It's just not probable at all, so take that excuse somewhere else.

  • @Customapple0 said:

Posting Pictures of games with DC’s serves no benefit here.

Also it happens on both sides, there’s no need to make it a “us vs them” argument.

That's a wonderful opinion. You needn't participate if you object. Have a nice day.

  • So far i'm at 5 games today, 4 of which had at least one DC, one of which had 4 DC's. Unfortunately I didn't screenshot the one i just finished because I got distracted by company.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

So as we all know currently the game's health is terrible currently constant lag, freezing, and bugs. Unplayable on whole platforms. Yet, some people defend them still saying you don't know what it's like to code and such. Well, they made a product that is currently awful. That we spent with our money to to buy. But, because we don't code we shouldn't criticize them making a bad product. For reference this is saying that we shouldn't criticize a builder who made a house that collapsed because we don't understand or work in construction see the issue there. We expect a working product and if you can't make it work you should be criticized. Additionally they have over 700 employees and have revenue over 100 million U.S dollars. There's only seven currencies worth more. And yes they have to spread it out but that is such a huge amount of resources to work with no excuses for a poor product. And many issues have been here for years. So, please don't white horse for behavior. Yes, they said they would fix it by the Mid-Chapter they said that about many things however before. Yes, I don't code or such by I spent money on the belief this game would work.

    Preach.

  • And just had a match, not minutes after my last post, wherein I downed a survivor in the first minute and they DC'ed. Cheated me out of Lullaby stacks and the chance to control the map the way I needed to win, so I just hit leave game and congratulated the rest of the Survivors. No point in playing if the game is tainted.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

If this had suffered the severe limitations of Surge. M1 requirement, cooldown, range. I wouldn't have used this perk. But, currently with 30 second cooldown, no range limit, or M1 requirement. This perk is awesome especially good with PGTW. But, sadly I've only seen it on me and a few others. Any one else using this perk a lot?

Yep, it's become a staple of my gen slowdown builds along with Oppression. It's even better because this method of gen slowdown is not vulnerable to a Survivor running anti-totem perks or just being unlucky and having the totem spawn right by a survivor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366625#Comment_2366625

I don't disagree that survivors act way worse than killers in my experience, and that even while playing survivor, the majority of harassment I get and witness is from my teammates, not the killer. It's even in a ratio that outstrips the 3:1 you'd naturally expect. But even then, your bias is way too strong for me. Most of what you've said is experience I wasn't a part of and I could only interject my own in a pointless he-said-she-said, but I will say the devs certainly aren't incentivizing disconnecting when their stance all along has been that it's not allowed and ragequitting is one of the explicitly reportable offenses in the endgame screen. So I'm taking all of the 'survivors rule DBD with an iron fist' stuff with a healthy grain of salt.

I strongly disagree with that second assessment. It can easily be turned around on you - people who play to win get myopically focused over the result and start smashing the keyboard when anything goes wrong. People who play for fun don't necessarily care what happens as long as they have a chance to do stuff and make a good play or two, and they're more comfortable with losing. People should play for fun, not to stress over always coming out on top and throwing in the towel whenever that doesn't look like it'll be possible.

Or not. The truth is that it's never that absolute and easy to categorize. After all, people play to win because winning is fun. You can't really split the two in this kind of dichotomy where one objective is prone to bad behavior and the other is all good. What it boils down to is that different people want/expect different things out of a match and different people have different levels of maturity. Or patience, but I'm inclined to think someone who tableflips at the sight of anything they don't like is fairly immature, especially when there's 4 other people involved who stand to suffer for their decisions.

So no thanks. I'll keep my mentality and you can keep yours. As long as neither of us are pulling the plug on our games, it hardly matters.

    This is fair.

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366582#Comment_2366582

Uh, no? Raging and disconnecting when you're getting your teeth kicked in is a mentality. It doesn't cleave to 'one side' of players and it never has; it's a personal mindset (and/or a failing.) The same players that ragequit as survivor when things don't go perfectly their way ragequit as killer when things don't go perfectly their way, and vice versa.

Deny it all you want, that's fine. I know what the evidence of my own senses for the last five years playing this game has told me. I play Survivor, get little or no bad treatment except from other survivors. I play Killer and get insulted, called all kinds of vile things, dogpiled, doxxed and my kid threatened plus some hate speech on top of it all. Yes, all of that has happened in my time both playing and streaming DbD. These people are animals and it was encouraged by everyone from the devs to the community to the piece of ######### streamers who popularized it and got away with it because everyone was too afraid to say anything to them.

    @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366589#Comment_2366589

Yeah, so the majority of time I see a DC, it's because somebody got downed first, or because they tried a tech and the killer saw through it, or because they don't like the killer, or because they loaded onto a map they hate, or because Lethal Pursuer showed them strong spawns. There's no BMing in sight, and I'm not happy they're gone, I'm pissed I loaded into the match with someone who was going to dip on me in 0.2 seconds instead of someone who was actually willing to play the game.

At least when the killer does it, the match is over. When a survivor does it, I have to limp through the rest of a doomed game scrambling between hooks with little to no gen progress, wasting my offerings, and walking out with 10k points at the end.

That long list comes down to 'my opponent is beating my ass, I'm not winning and losing isn't fun so I quit.'

People who swear that attitude is toxic still do it themselves, and always have. This is why you drop that 'everything must be maximum fun!' mentality and encourage people to play to win.

  • @BubbaDredge said:

The one thing survivors and killers agree on, survivors are awful people.

In seriousness, this is what happens when one group has the attitude "We can do anything we want, we can jump on every glitch, exploit every bug, but it's wrong for killers to camp."

The community reaping what it sowed. Bad behavior was acceptable when it was only directed at the minority - Killers. Now the bad people have incentive to inflict it on everyone and they've been coddled for so long that they feel it's their right to do so.

This is what we all meant by 'entitlement' for all these years. This is why it's bad.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366574#Comment_2366574

FYI this is not JUST a survivor issue - had quite a few killers DC past few weeks. I play both survivor and killer and the amount of DCs from both sides is idiotic.

No, it actually is. Killer DC's haven't been crazy until recently; sure, you'd get a Killer who DC'ed while getting bullied every now and again, but now killers are done with the BS and will just drop for any reason. Survivors made that acceptable, remember? 'If i'm not having fun i'll just quit and I don't care about everyone else'.

This is the consequence. So stop with the disingenuous 'its both sides' crap. It's not. It's one side and we all know it.

  • @solidhex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2363406#Comment_2363406

wow, ok. So your fun is more important? Everyone can play the game however they want. I know people who just want to be "there" and feel the atmosphere, make some bloodpoints, get stacks etc., and then there are people who think you can play pub-dbd in a competitive way (besides all the crazy RNG and matchmaking) and the ultimative goal is a 4k/ 4 escape as fast as possible. "Sweaty" does exist for me, my personal definition is players, who just want to win as hard as possible, using/ abusing unbalanced stuff and mechanics, players who always go with the current meta, using cheesy crutches every game because a lose is unacceptable. And therefore making the game unfun for most other people. This "i don't care about your fun i just want to win"-attitude is perfectly fine but it's also fine if people call out their anger about it.

Is your fun more important? Why do I have to play in a way that handicaps me for you? This is why I don't give any weight to your type; you say 'but mah fun!' when you're demanding your opponent play the game incorrectly so you can have it. That makes you the unreasonable one. I'm doing things the game allows. Good day.

  • Survivor entitlement and ######### attitudes made the situation. Now you're noticing because it's affecting you. Welcome to the way Killers have always had to play the game, though. You're winning? Opponent DC's.

Or he'd play more if he felt he was accomplishing.

I often lose interest right after an event, because the points feel too few.

There's a huge gulf between 'not enough points' and 'no need for points'. I honestly can't say I've ever felt like BP was hard to get; but I also don't play Survivor much and that seems to be the side that complains about too little BP the most, which is amusing considering they get to keep their crap if they escape with it, whereas Killers don't.

No, it isn't. There's no point in playing if you're not trying to win. At that point you could just go screw around in GMOD and get the same result without ruining someone else's game because of your arbitrary definition of 'fun' that leads to you playing the game poorly, which hurts my fun.

    Latency

Now I don't want to get too excited but APPARENTLY, they are going to be fixing some issues with latency. Now I can feel that they are just going to make it worse. I don't want to be a negative nancy but I still have PTSD from that one midchapter where they changed the animations and somehow made latency 1000x worse. I have a feeling they are going to do it again.

    Iron will buff!?

Why would they buff Iron Will to counter spirit with stridor? Just nerf spirit directly. I know for a fact they buffed it because of spirit. Why else would they?

They buff perks to counter one killer. When they do this it can harm other killers' playstyles. Now, I may be wrong but I'm 99.9999% sure they did this because of spirit.

    Trickster.... 🤦‍♀️

Bruh why just why. This just makes him so much more annoying to play against in a chase. I don't understand. I have seen so many posts about suggestions on how to make him better without making him more annoying but nope, they just didn't care and didn't take feedback. The only thing they took feedback on was to buff trickster and didn't listen

Disclaimer: I understand this is the ptb and things can change

Annoying = 'i have to actually try'.

After playing this game for a while this question has sort of dawned on me. I've personally noticed that the sweatiest killers tend to be Plagues, Spirits, and Freddys. The most memey/kindest killers i've noticed were Blights, Ghostfaces, and Demo's. What do you think?

Sweaty in this context is a stupid term made up by losers who want easy games but don't want to gain the skill to make games easy.

Bro sometimes I SWEAR the totems don't spawn in some games for how difficult they are to find LMAOOOO

I've personally run into a few killers who I was suspicious of but never bothered to report since I was unsure. I once ran into a Wraith (without All Seeing) who seemed to always know where people were (he pulled up to a Kate in a random locker when he would have absolutely no real way of knowing she was in there) AND he had double Haunted Grounds (well before Blight was ever added to the game), even showing as having two perk slots taken by Haunted Grounds in the post game screen. He acted a little coy in post game chat when I asked him about it, too 🤯

the 'always seems to know where we are' is the thing i get accused of hacking for the most. It's so hard to get people who aren't experienced Killers to understand that if you are good enough you can track without powers or perks. Also, Survivors ignore crows and they give away more people than I can count, especially since I run Spies fairly frequently. Speaking of Spies, it's so rare to see that most Survivors don't even know that it exists or what it does.

Blight isn’t even good against competent players XD

These “sweatlord” topics are the most toxic on the forum. If you can’t be bothered to try to win, you don’t deserve to win. People who do try deserve to beat you. Either get better and run competitive builds, or accept your losses.

This. Quit bitching and git gud, like Killers have had to do since day one. Adapt.

  • Over the years i've been called a hacker probably hundreds of times. Nothing will happen; people just be salty when they lose.

  • @psionic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2354272#Comment_2354272

It's hard for survivos to find gens and it's hard for killer to go to gens. There's absolutely no gen patrol.

Play the map three or four times and focus on learning the layout. You'll be fine. A little effort won't kill you.

  • Don't bother with this thread or this game anymore. It's broken and will never be fixed; I finally called it quits myself today after five years of hoping the devs would pull their heads out of their asses and stop catering to Survivors, but recent changes have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that'll never happen.

For those of you staying with this game, good luck and have fun.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yes. I specifically mean Survivors. As in my own teammates as well as, if not significantly more than, my opponents.

It is getting to the point where I cannot play the game without getting sandbagged. Very, very deliberately sandbagged, not accidentally having a scared teammate drop a pallet on me. It's bad enough playing killer and dealing with all those totally-not-trying-to-bully squads that act like they're gods for predropping a pallet, but I'm now getting ganged up on by teammates who deliberately get me killed just because they can. One team sacrificed me to the killer because they felt he deserved a kill. Another led the killer to me and proceeded to camp pallets and bodyblock me. A third kept farming me and blocking me into taking a hit, to the point that the killer actually tried to move around me to hit the sandbagger before my final hook. All this in one evening.

I get that killers can grief, but for the most part I just see players hardcore, from-the-start tunneling and camping. That at least has the veneer of trying to play the game.

BHVR really needs to introduce some sort of bad behaviour report system. Something that forces toxic players to stay in their own little hellhole when the valid complaints pile up. The current reporting system is absolutely ridiculous and an auto-ban system will have to be too lenient or risk banning people for bad luck.

It's not often you see a rant from me, but this really is becoming a serious issue for me and I deliberately waited til I was absolutely calm before posting it. That is how much I've been getting toxic teammates. Hopefully it goes away when the event is over, but for now, I'm hoarding cakes instead of using them.

If you get your way, the 'toxic' people will be the competitive mode and the casuals will just meme aroound and never get to play the actual game. So I am down for this; it'd effectively create a serious mode and separate out the people who don't really want to play and would rather meme around with their buddies ruining my game experience.

  • Everyone who says they go easy on the Killer is flat-out lying. In five years not ONCE has a Survivor been nice to me in a game. Not once.

They are virtue-signaling. Don't believe it.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Just one of the few hard counters of each other in the game is finally gone. There are more that I would like to see changed (looking at you, Lightborn).

  • @Viciusaurus said:

No I get where you're coming from, that's why I'm taking it upon myself to play killer right now and taking it super easy. Not stressing about hooks or win conditions makes the game way more fun when you're playing peekaboo as Ghostface with baby survivors and butt dancing at the exit gates.

So you're giving them unearned pips and points, which will only hurt them later when they face serious Killers who they won't have the skills to handle and will claim are 'toxic' for trying to play normally?

    Great idea.

  • @Northener1907 said:

  • @Wavy said:

How many god-level SWF's did you actually go against?. SWF is pretty common at red ranks, yes. But most of the SWF's are chill and they are not really good. I dont understand why you take this game and SWF too seriously. If you lose, just give a cheers to your opponent and move on. I think you exaggerate the power of SWF. As i said you dont go against a good SWF too often. You cant win every match, accept it.

As for the keys, i dont think key escapes happen often. And i know even though you complain about the keys you bring it at least once. If you hate keys SO much just bring franklins, its not that hard.

The things you should complain about are Spirit, Nurse, Ruin + Undying, Wraith and OP Myers addons. Killer is the power role in this game if you know how to play it.

Dear killers, if you expect to win every match, just play with bots with the new update.

I played against four yesterday alone. One loss was my fault for playing too nice and letting them hook swap and do gens, one I lost due to a sabotager and experimenting with a new Nemesis build, one was a bodyblock/flashlight squad that I was simply not equipped to go against and one I won easily with a 4k despite a long and very miserable match,

  • @Brhoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2340427#Comment_2340427

I play killer too, the Spirit phased EXACTLY to my location, which was a dead zone with no gens, and I mean no gens even near it.

I thought she was hacking so I stood still and she phased right into my spot. you never phase into the side of a hill in the corner of the map when there are gens to be protected, even if BBQ didn't reveal any survivors.

Still not proof of hacking. Did you read anything I wrote?

  • @Brhoom said:

Had a lot of killers do this, and they pretend that they were just ''searching the area''

I even ran Distortion and a token was used, but a Spirit phased right into my location where they were no gens, in a dead zone, and in the corner of the map after hooking someone claiming BBQ

This does not mean hacking. I have been playing this game for five years as a Killer main and sometimes Survivors get found due to factors they themselves can't see and aren't aware of, such as crows flying away, past behavior by the Survivors, likely places they'll go based on gen locations/proximity to the basement or a hook, seeing a teammate somewhere else and knowing that if they are there and you weren't seen running then the places you could be narrow. And sometimes it's just sheer intuition or the Killer hearing the most minute movement or breathing sound.

Basically, there's a million ways a skilled Killer divines your location without any extra help needed. Not every Killer that can track without perks and hacks is cheating. Some of us are just good.

Ah so infectious does in fact help the zombies then?

I wouldn't think spies and hoarders would since you're the only one hearing them. Unless you mean you're just using them for info, but I definitely think we're on to something with infectious/failed skillcheck perks.

I just noticed that it says

"Zombies will react to Distraction Perks, such as Diversion or Red Herring .

Zombies will react to all sorts of noises produced by Survivors, e.g. rushed actions, failed Skill Checks, Generator Repairs, Chest Unlocks, etc." But this doesn't mention screaming so It makes me wonder...I think it needs tested tbh

In all seriousness do you have a bbq build you can recommend me?

I don't use BBQ unless i'm farming, so can't help you there.

  • @Ulfberto said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2339187#Comment_2339187

I dont like to rely on zombies for pressure bcs of RNG AI, so just for tracking. But even with zombies tracking survivors here and there you still will have to make your way to chase them. That alone can cost your gens and possibly the most important gens in the map.

But if youve been successful/lucky with zombies so sure, thats a way to go. Just sharing my experience as nemesis main in red ranks.

They're not RNG. They go to survivor noises of all kinds; master manipulating them to go where you want or you're wasting half of Nemmy's kit.

And please don't use RNG incorrectly. Just because you don't have fine control over a thing doesn't make it 'random'.

No offerings. Today has been: Ormond, Ormond, and Family Estate so far.

    Ouch. bad luck.

  • I do what it takes to win. But definitions:

Tunneling: Pursuing a survivor to the exclusion of all else until they die. Not a bad idea if you want to improve your odds of winning early on.

Camping: Remaining near the hook when you have no reason to suspect another Survivor is nearby or will be soon. This one is trickier and i ignore it when survivors make the accusation because I run a lot of aura reading and detection and I ALWAYS know when Survivors are nearby. They will sit in chat and swear they weren't, but my perks and powers say otherwise so screw them.

Remember: One hooked, one dead and one lurking for the hook = 75% of the survivors not doing objectives. Camp when it makes sense, people; the game has a hook mechanic and is designed the way it is for a reason.

  • Survivor offerings. They know the maps that favor them and burn those offerings liberally.

  • @Ulfberto said:

Im using a 3gen build on him and loving it so far:

BBQ (for farm) or STBFL(optimal for surge) / Surge / Pop / Eruption. Manipulate your zombies to patrol the 3 gen area and you can win even a red rank squad.

Early game you want to ofc patrol a 4 gen area. Nemesis lacks of mobility so you better focus your pressure on a specific region. Unless you know you can win the game and slug everyone ofc.

I haven't found mobility to be an issue thanks to his immense pressure from zombies. But nice build.

  • Update: HOLY ######### HOARDER + SPIES IS SO GOOD ON NEMESIS!

Total map awareness with these two perks. Every time survivors pick up an item, every time they touch a vaccine, every time they startle a crow - you know where they are. Add in Infectious Fright and the zombies are just all over them constantly. Oppression makes them near-incapable of doing a gen. So good.

I haven't tested screaming yet. I need some help with that, actually.

According to DbD wiki, and this checks out from my games and experiences on nemesis, who i have played almost exclusively since his release. tl;dr version - they follow noises and will chase until they lose LOS for a while. Logical zombie behavior.:

    Zombie Behaviour:

    • Zombies spawn out of the ground beneath a randomly chosen Hook.
    • Zombies will lose line-of-sight when Survivors enter Lockers, even when doing it right in front of them.
    • Zombies will react to Distraction Perks, such as Diversion or Red Herring .
    • Zombies will react to all sorts of noises produced by Survivors, e.g. rushed actions, failed Skill Checks, Generator Repairs, Chest Unlocks, etc.
    • Zombies shrink their collision hitbox when blinded, allowing Survivors to pass by them.
    • Initial Spawn delay: 12 seconds
      • This refers to how long it takes after loading into a Trial for the Zombies to spawn.

Gibb build with bbq pls. I'm starving over here plus event ;)

But yeah I don't know why I never thought of that because gens blowing up does in fact attract zombies. I wonder if screaming does too? Like infectious/Deathbound.

I haven't tested screaming yet. I need some help with that, actually.

Can we pls just move on without NOED, there is no legitimate defence you can say to keep this perk, it literally rewards bad killers with free kills, it rewards them for not doing their objective in the first place, I've just had 2 games in a row (and probably hundreds in the past) where we get all the gens done and we're all good and the killer gets 1-3 kills cause of NOED.

Do Bones. Run Detective's Hunch, Small Game or Counterforce. Plenty of ways to handle NOED. you just refuse to use any of them.
