If you want streamers like this to go away, then support non-toxic ones.

    Truth

That's why TheEntityLeftHand is usually the first DBD streamer I look for when the mood hits me to watch a DBD Stream. Most friendly DBD community you'll ever behold on Twitch.

  • I just call it "Abusive Strike"

I believe I got it from Bahroo - and it kinda stuck since.

NOW this sounds like a witchhunt to me. I seriously consider flagging this answer

I'm just pointing out that if people have a beef with him, this is the wrong place to air it, period.

And this isn't a witch hunt, it's taking out the trash. Calling unfounded accusations on somebody who might be innocent or did nothing is an actual witch hunt. He who should not be named is actually guilty of lots of things.

  • Ochido and his ilk are going to cause the next adpocalpse... and will be Twitch who will have to crack down

Mark my words - it's only a matter of time

His days are numbered - the day will come when the an advertiser will be made aware of who he is and what he stands for and make a fuss.

I know that the Doctor is an alright killer but I really think that he could be better. That's why I did an overhaul buff to him, assuming that your a Doctor main... thoughts?

Yes I am a doctor main, and my thought is that if the devs do anything to make pallets any weaker, he'll be OP and they'll need to nerf him.

With his ability to slow down the game even without ruin, his ability to chase can't be any stronger than it already is.

Your ideas don't even take into account how powerful certain perk combinations already have on the doc - and you want to take those great combos and make them outright overpowering.

Additionally, I believe the devs are not done tweaking loops, windows, and pallets. If things are made any more favorable for the killer in the chase game, I fear it will creep the doc into OP territory and he'll need to be nerfed. I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Sometimes the other survivors follow you. I knew they were waiting for me to hit someone. Then they would grab the item. What good is that for the killer?

Somebody following you around is not doing generators.

  • Seems to work well on trapper if your running the addin that injures those who disarm traps and trap the items they drop XD

  • Did a quick lookup in the US Copyright website of Mr Salva's name. The results were as follows.

    3 entries for Day 22
    1 entry for Jeeper's Creepers 3
    1 entry for Rosewood lane.

I found it odd that there was only 1 entry for the series. Made me wonder if he sold of his rights for various reasons? So I dug a little deeper into the one entry... it was a copyright mortgage

My unprofessional research what that is turned up that it appears he may be using his rights to the 3rd movie as security to pay off an obligation (likely legal fees if I were to guess, but I'm no lawyer)

More research needed, but it was interesting to see.

  • Killer perks that are considered by most as must haves

    Ruin
    Save The Best for Last
    BBQ and Chili
    Bamboozle
    Enduring

Strong perks many of us use

    Nurses Calling
    Overcharge
Franklin's Demise (for those occasions that everybody brings an item you hate)

Don't sell the Clown Short - he's a potential S Tier killer that some are starting to see as stronger than Huntress. The Hag is very strong now too.

  • The doc is my main - and I can tell he never felt short ranged to me.

  • Working as intended

Not like you don't get plenty of points to replace the item you lost anyway

    Moving on......

  • Time to die on hook - 120 seconds
Time to do generator solo - 80 seconds
    Survivors in game - 4

    3. Ideal, but not physically possible. There are 7 gens, 5 totems, 5 chests, 4 survivors, and 1 killer. Only so many tiles per map (I think the average is 10? not sure). There would be very few spots where you would be able to spawn survivors. They just need better totem placement so your Ruin isn't in LOS of a gen or spawns next to a survivor.

The average Map has a size of 160 square Tiles

    Source - https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Realms

Smallest map is Treatment Theatre with a mere 116 tiles, where as The Pale Rose has a whopping 216 tiles.

In looking at these figures, I figured out pretty quickly that map size itself isn't the only determining factor as to wither it's survivor or killer biased.

Sheltered Woods, for example, is 176 tiles but is considered slightly killer Bias. The Asylum, which is considered Survivor biased, is only 172 tiles.

The shape and configuration of the landmark tiles seem to be the biggest contributes to the problem.

  • Bond

    noun
    1.
a thing used to tie something or to fasten things together.
"she brushed back a curl that had strayed from its bonds"
    2.
an agreement with legal force, in particular.
synonyms: promise, pledge, vow, oath, word (of honor), guarantee, assurance; More
    verb
    1.
join or be joined securely to something else, typically by means of an adhesive substance, heat, or pressure.
"press the material to bond the layers together"
synonyms: join, fasten, fix, affix, attach, secure, bind, stick, fuse
"the extensions are bonded to your hair"
    2.
join or be joined by a chemical bond.

Plenty of room for interpretation here

  • Hex: Curse of Greed

Perk lights up Totem as normal, but no benefit given to the killer. If cleansed, all survivors left in game lose one random perk. Hex then moves to another dull totem where it can be triggered again.

Best if used with other hex's to "Bait" the hunt

If you're on deathhook, just take the death man. You won't lose 3 pips, you get to keep your points - and you don't risk a ban. You really don't hurt anybody but your team by leaving a few seconds early - you actually HELP the killer by saving him time. If you want to pay the killer back for getting tunneled, make him waste time getting you to the hook.

And I can speak from experience, you WILL get banned for disconnects if you do it too much.

he will not loos any pip if he unplug
    are you just wake up?

My point still stands - you don't actually hurt the killer by unplugging - you only hurt your team.

I know English isn't your first language, but please read carefully

  • Basic survival 101....

You don't necessarily need to run fast, just faster than the guy next to you.

The hook mechanic and the way this works brings this into play in a way that let's you explore what it's like without risking your buddies life.

Embrace it, revel in it, feel the guilty pleasure of walking out the door while the other guy hangs.....

  • Thanaphobia used to stay in effect after survivor's died, but they removed that.

I think it could stand to take a minor buff to make up for that.

Make pallet drops so it either stuns the killer, or you don't drop at all and take a hit. Remove the dropped pallet/take a hit mechanic. If this gets slanted towards the killers im 100% cool with it just get annoyed by the trade.

Hit detection in general in this game is really dumb, I've noticed. Either you miss when you shouldn't, or get hit when you should be out of range.

Hit detection is always going to be a bit dicey due to how Peer to Peer networking works. As the host, the Killer is always a game state or two ahead of the survivors. However, given the game only hosts 5 players at a time, it's not economical to use dedicated servers for this game. (Unlike say, F13 which hosted 9 players per game, and For Honor which hosts up to 8 players in each game)

  • Jake is the survivalist, so it makes sense he would grit his teeth and deal with the pain when he's got nobody to complain to but himself.

Have you ever seen the high hurdle events? Athletes can't touch the hurdles. So wouldn't it make sense that Meg can do the vault without smacking the sill and making noise?

Not sure what the deal with Shadowborn and Lightborn were though. Billy was the one who was stuck in a dark room all his life - where as our boy Wraith was normal and out in the sun before he became what he was. So yes, those two don't make sense.

    Fun stuff
like a 0.5% of the players :D yea

It really depends how many games are played totally and how many have "connection issues".
If someone has more disconnects than finished matches, i would ban. But if someone has a dc out of 20-30 matches? Nah thats fine.

There os totaly NO bans in this game
you can leave every game + you can have report frome ALL players that was with you

If someone sabotages event hooks he looses all his rights to complain.
Btw everyone can say they are "x mains", but that doesn't make their opinions more relevant (on the contrary, killvivors as someone call them have more knowledge and game sense than pure mains, imo)

A Killvivor is a survivor main pretending to be a killer main. It's a very old Steam forums term.

I play both sides 50/50 but still consider myself a killer main as that's the side I prefer.

Event or no event - you should always go in expecting the other team to show no mercy.

So why should you show mercy?

It´s not about mercy (although i show mercy if the survivors really suck and i get several hooks before they get their first gen). But about how hard it is to reach the BBQ hooks in comparison of the normal hooks. How the killer is forced to change his playstyle (loadout) in order to get hooks, while the survivors can play normal and even benefit from the event.

Goes both ways though. A good survivor will try and stagger gens to keep themselves out of a 3 gen nest situation.... but this event sort of takes this out of the good survivor's control as the cosmetic hungry survivors just mindlessly grind the margarita machines.

I don't see the big deal myself, but whatever.

  • If you want voice chat, Friday the 13th is that way, go play that ######### instead ------->

######### your voice chat, this game doesn't need it.

  • Event or no event - you should always go in expecting the other team to show no mercy.

So why should you show mercy?

  • That wasn't a killer main, that was a killvivor. Ignore it.

  • Killer's are camping blah blah blah

    So what?

Part of the game - adapt and overcome

  • @WhateverIGuess said:
Again, can you stop victimizing killers? Killers are the same. Equally as toxic, they camp gens, patrol them hard, put overcharge, ruin, thanatophobia and other stuff.

"Killers are opressed, killers are the purest form of players in the DBD community. REEEEEE"

And like yeah, I guess they have to run something that slows the game down so they can get the hooks, but I've ran into several survivors who were willing to give me hooks in the end, not to mention their cosmetic needs 90 tokens. It still doesn't give you the reason to keep patrolling/camping those gens.

To be fair, Killer see's 4X as many opponents than survivors, so the killer statistically faces more toxic opponents.

That's just fact wither you like it or not.

And patrolling and camping those gens is completely legit.

  • "Playing toxic" Oh please, there is no such thing.

There is no rules against tunneling
There is no rules against camping
There is no rules against looping
There is no rules against body blocking (with only few exceptions)

There is only the rules of the game - and that is to win in the way you choose.

The game does not understand the concept of tunneling
The game does not understand the concept of looping

The game only understands that you died, or you survived.

To play any other way is not playing to win. I don't care if you don't care to win - but I play to win.

There is no way to play toxic - but there is plenty of people who get toxic when their imaginary rules are broken by somebody who doesn't play by the same rulebook.

    http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub

  • So bring Hangman's trick or just use all the other hooks.

Personally, I just use all the other hooks until they are on deathhook - then I'll use an event hook if available. It really throws them off when you pretend you don't care about the event for the whole game then suddenly hit the event hooks for the deathhook.

  • Sabo has been in the current state to discourage people from just saboing every hook and making the game miserable for the killer, it's been like that for over a year now.

In return, however, they gave sabo speed a huge buff.

If you want to play this way, you need to be prepping said hooks ahead of time - which is completely doable.

  • Having an easy to use character with good power is basic game design 101.

Leatherface is indeed easy and less-skilled to use, but he is far from the best character in the game. And this is not a bad thing. Indeed, this is a good thing.

  • I'm about to hit P3 on Nea, what did it get changed to? (I wasn't that fond of the Beanie to be honest)

That´s cute. I´ve heard something like this on R6.
I always wonder how the parents of those childs are. Those games are for adults and kids play them. Do the parents know it? Do they care? Do they even control what else they do on the internet? So many questions.

My son actually got me back in to playing video games. He saw things like Hello Neighbor, DBD, F13th etc ... I specifically got him PS4 (up to that point it was Wii and Wii U) so he could play f13th. 1 month in i started looking at his messages he was getting the most vile things said to him up to and including several dick pics. I spent the afternoon blocking and reporting 27 separate people. I had to change his privacy settings. He is squeaker, he is a kid but he isn't spamming messages to people telling them to kill themselves, or that he ######### a member of the family or the dog. It was mostly from F13th because they could hear him on the microphone. Luckily DBD doesn't have that built in to the game or things would be much worse.

Interesting. But do you think its good for your son to play DbD and F13th? I mean there are some really gruesome deaths. I don´t know the age of your son and i don´t want to ask here. But unless he´s 16, i wouldn´t personally let him play those games.

That depends on the child. Some have a much firmer grasp of what's real or acceptable than others.

I never personally gave it much thought until my playthrough of Halflife 2 many moons ago. My wife tapped my shoulder and had me look to my left. There was my oldest, maybe about 3 or 4? He had some duplo blocks made up into a handgun and was pointing at the screen. He had a look that said "I got your back dad". After I got over the initial humor, I wondered to myself (As I was still new to this whole dad thing) if I had made the right choice letting him watch me.

Fast forward into Ravenholm, and I'm getting chased by Toxic Facecrabs - and both my son and I are laughing at our own fright. I decide then "he understands this isn't real"

At 8, he asked to play Resident Evil 4. I allowed it on the condition he told me if it gave him nightmares.

Growing up, he played every violent game I played. Hell, he put almost as many hours into L4D2 that I did

He's now a young man of 18. Very easy-going, low-key - and teaching himself to code.

Of course, each kid is different. My son may of turned out fine and is probably one of the best teammates you'd ever have, but I still kept him offline till about 15 (and all his younger siblings are kept from offline gaming when I'm not around to monitor them),

I didn't like squeakers in F13, but I never judged the parents because I don't know their situation. But it still drove me from the game because I found listening to that crap off-putting. No all-chat for my asymmetrical horror games, thank you very much.

  • I'm more concerned why you guys are in such a rush to get broken content.

Here's the thing, PC gets it first, but it often has something that needs to be fixed - something that will be fixed before you all get it.

So we get it sooner, but we're guinea pigs - seems like a fair trade to me.

BTW, nothing but love for my console cousins. To each their own as far as I'm concerned. I tease, but I started on Console before I made the complete switch around the PS2 era.

  • Ahaha, I remember that thread - "Despicable behaviour of the company and it's representitves". I haven't seen somebody universally ripped apart by the community ever. We're usually pretty divided when it comes to Killer vs Survivor things - but we all unite when it comes to people dissin' our low-key Community Manager. Quite possibly the most epic beat down this forum has seen so far.

I just rode out my first 24 hour ban in this game - probably for disconnects - wasn't even mad about it. I was just glad to see the devs are trying to do something about it - even if it's like trying to clean up Toxic Waste with a baby wipe.

Was it a 24hr ban or you just couldn't login. It is hard to tell sometimes with this game.

Oh, it was an actual Ban. Steam gave me a nice big yellow alert I had never seen before. No message in game though. Game would function - sort of. As Killer, My lobbies would just stop for no reason, and as Survivor I'd be in matchmaking forever.

Makes me wonder if all these people not finding matches were banned but didn't get a message.

  • I frames were needed and I don't think it's going to be as big of a deal as you think. You just have to swing later. Much like the survivor has to time their flashlight save, we just have to time our re-down better now.

I'm predicting that Dead Hard will have a bigger impact on this than Sprint Burst as you can just spam it right away as your being unhooked.

Before you guys start howling about nerfs, you need to give it a chance and see it in action first. Frankly, I'm more concerned they'll break something unrelated and it will be hilariously OP. ;)

  • Oh, the rep is there. Hell, I witnessed somebody complaining about Toxicity in Rainbox 6 Siege and somebody that wasn't me commented "You don't know Toxic till you've played Dead By Daylight".

If we were bigger, we'd probably be compared to League of Legends or other MOBAs more.

I'm not sure what saddens me more, the people who lack any sort of basic empathy or their enablers who say "That's how it is, deal with it".

I just rode out my first 24 hour ban in this game - probably for disconnects - wasn't even mad about it. I was just glad to see the devs are trying to do something about it - even if it's like trying to clean up Toxic Waste with a baby wipe.
