Previously, the hatch would only spawn if: Number of Survivors alive + 1 generators have been completed.
This made it so if there's one guy left and only one generator has been powered, the Survivor was pretty much screwed. They had to power a generator while the Killer patrols them. Since it would take 80 seconds to complete a generator alone, the Survivor never really had an opening to actually finish one. As a result, many people would just hide for a long time until the Killer lost interest and gives up or disconnects.
Obviously this is not ideal, so with the new changes, the hatch spawns no matter how many generators have been completed. If the Killer closes it, the End Game starts. At this point the Survivor is going to either escape through the gates, get caught trying, or die to the Entity if they don't make a move. In any scenario the game will end shortly and everyone will get to move on to their next match.
Makes sense, while I enjoy the new End Game Collapse I still believe the gates need better spawns.
I understand its RNG but having them spawn literally right next to each other while theirs a hill to view both of them "Like I had in one game" isn't exactly fair now is it? You can't do gens in the Collapse, you can't go to the gate or the killer sees you, you can't...do anything really unless you get a lucky key grab from a box.

Because the devs want to give Survivors a million chances to escape. They could've given something to reward the Killer for doing a good job, but instead gave them a way to speed up the game and still kept escaping as a Survivor ridiculously easy.
I don't agree with the hatch spawning anytime either, but its by far a "EZ ESCAPE GG" for the last survivor now.
If anything its an EZ win for the killer if they find the hatch first.

They aren't going to change it. They have stated this on stream. The door spawns are RNG.
I could cry and complain because I had a match today where the doors were very far apart...
But I'm not whining. Because sometimes they are close together. It's whatever.
The doors are fine.
Yes, but when I get it as a killer main it feels like it was handed to me on a silver plater. Literally the most boring End Game for killers that actually want a fair solution.

@FireHazard Like permanently? That was broken as hell. That's the point. You 99 the hooks in an area and when the killer downs someone tap it and destroy it.
Yes and as it should stay dead, I'm just saying the last thing I pointed out would probably be the only worth while thing to come out of an update like this being suggested.
-
Making it able to see the auras of hooks within like a 20m range would be great.
They need to bring back hooks staying broken for this to be even worth updating.
I mean I guess its good for hook rescues?

As someone who had their game taken hostage for hours on a few occasions prior to the release of EGC, if they cave to survivors complaining about 4 minutes, I'll be joining all my friends who have uninstalled this game.
The fact survivors are complaining about 4 minutes instead of the gate spawns baffles me tbh.
I guess people loved staring at a floor for hours on end because their pride was too strong or something.

I forgot this perk even existed until I saw this post tbh.

For anyone who has an issue with the option to close Hatch, and the chance of gates being too close, making it easy for the killer to hunt down the last survivor, consider this:
For a very long time, once hatch was open, killers were screwed. This time, once Hatch is closed by the killer, it's the last survivor who is screwed, true, but unlike with the previous hatch system, the current endgame mechanic still offers ways to turn the game around. As a survivor, you should plan for this. Think ahead, prepare. Get a purple key, scout out Hatch BEFORE your last mate dies, also find out how far the exit gates are placed, even take Wake Up (I know Wake Up is still a joke, but it can help a little).
It's a new experience for all of us, I know: no more easy escapes if we are the last survivor standing. But if you use your brain, you can get out. EGC is definitely a big step towards a healthier game.
Now I don't disagree with the statement that survivors should prepare for this, I still don't like the notion that gates spawn right next to each other since the game first launched.
That issue has been a thing since 2016 and now its becoming even bigger because of the new End Game update,I think if they changed that, the new End Game would be fantastic.

[Introduction]: Hello, some of you my recognize me from months ago when I was pretty active on the forums.
Already ahead of you on that one.
-
I disagree with idea 1# and 2#.
1# will just make him stronger than Myers with the added bonus that you don't need to charge your insta-killer through stalking, they have add-ons that increase his speed but cost you charge time. And that's where it should stay honestly (Also chili add-ons exist but they don't work.)
2# Would just make him a pocket Billy and as of right now people are complaining about him for once unlike months ago.
3# Is the only one I can somewhat get behind as it would be nice for him to have some sort of animation you physically see while he chainsaws that pallets down. It would be faster than kicking them but slower than how it currently is at the moment.

I've taken to packing Plunderer's Instinct in all my games, it's a required perk now so I have a chance at nabbing a Skeleton Key and cheating the killer in the end game.
I disagree that this has to be the case now for something that can just be easily fixed by changing gate spawns.
Its bad enough Remember Me makes this worse. But I do like how keys are given more of a use now, but since they open the hatch early anyways it kinda is meh?
-
Also, I left many changes to perks that effect the gates time till its finished opening or whatever cause they need to be re-adjusted in themselves to fit this new update. (Unless they have already than nvm)

If Billy was released today, he would have a cooldown to his chainsaw like Legion and Spirit.
He would also have 110% movement speed.
I'm just saying.
If he was released today people would cry about how OP he is, and if Nurse was released today she'd be instantly nerfed from the backlash.

@Pirscher said:
@FireHazard It is just random and that is the way it is. Sometimes it works in your favour and sometimes not. Its unhealthy to expect that everything should always be "fair" because that is just not reality.
In a game this should be a reality, but I guess there will always be a dominant factor in anything. Having a balance on either side will induce people to actually use skill to win rather than busted mechanics.
-
Like make a post? I was considering yeah.
-
A bigger issue is how the gates spawn right next to each other on the map during the end game, so closing the hatch as the killer essentially means you won. All you have to do is patrol both gates which are at a arms length from each other and the survivor can't do anything.
-
Those of you who would argue how Billy is NOT OP, dont bother. You know you’re lying. Everyone knows it.
A competent Billy is more fair than a Pro-Nurse, but hey that's just me I guess.
-
I disagree that the new end game is good, it allows a scenario where at the end of the game when the hatch spawns either you or the survivor find the hatch first, this is inherently not the bad part. HOWEVER, what is bad is the scenario where the killer finds it first.
At that point you better pray those gates didn't spawn next to each other, and if they did like in one of my games with a ledge overlooking both you're just done for.
Now how may I ask is that fair?
-
You complain about MoM yet we have a system where every match is EZ mode for killer if they know what they're doing. By simple giving them a option to close the hatch it allows both players at the end a 50-50 on who finds the hatch first.
And guess what? If the killer finds it first you're screwed. Don't believe me? I had a match where I killed 3 survivors and one was left, I found the hatch almost instantly and closed it and had a clear vantage point over both gates. In the end I just felt bad and let the survivor open the gate, but it was too late since after they finished the Entity came in and killed them anyways.
Now I can agree MoM is kinda busted under the right circumstances, but if you know how to NOT tunnel its not really an issue. But to say you need Billy and or Nurse 99% is a gross exaggeration, and this is coming from a killer main...
-
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/652/3SXT6XP21C9E.png I used a survivor pudding, every time I downed someone they DC'd not only did I get no BBQ stacks because of it but I got barely any points because survivors see our offerings and DC so that we don't get points.
Why'd you bother covering up your name...but then not cover it again in the chat box?

Honestly, if Bhvr doesn't want to rework the Legion, giving them Frank's mixtape and Cold dirt as part of their base kit is an option. And no. I don't care how "unfun" it may see/play for survivors.

@Kebek said:
It's funny since your counter based around healing yourself is exactly what you shouldn't do in most scenarios against Legion. If you heal against him you're losing time you could be on gens and only way to defeat decent Legion is to gen rush really fast.
Also your counter doesn't adress the main issue, the moonwalking. If semi decent legion double stabs you which is super easy to do and then breaks the chase and moonwalks you, you're just going down no matter what (especially if they use bloodhound).
People don't hate Legion because of mending but because he removes all survivor skill from the game. No matter how good of a juker/looker you are decent Legion with right set up will down you in exactly the same time as everyone else.
Against every other killer your survivor skill matters. Legion is only one against who it does not while playing him is also extremely easy and that is why he needs rework.
I forgot to address the moon-walking, that's something that is unavoidable which I agree should be changed as its a cheap and unfair tactic.
And yes, any semi decent Legion can be effective against a survivor team. Which is why I agree he needs things changed about him, but I don't agree that people should just out right say to delete him or change the power all together as they're already cemented into the game.
And yes, healing is a counter to Legion actually. It's true that it will waste time to do so but it can also throw off Legions momentum since he thrives off of the entire team being hurt. It wastes more of his time to hit the same survivor again with Deep Wound, so it will put more strain on Legions strategy. And if he actively wants to down a specific survivor it will divert his attention from the other 3 survivors doing gens while being fully healed.
I agree skill isn't a main factor with Legion, but I disagree that he has no counter and that he can't be effectively mind gamed in some scenarios.

@FireHazard As a Legion main, I thank you for taking the time to write this and try to view both side’s thoughts and opinions and break them down into a reasonable response. It gets annoying when you see the same post over and over again on the forums of some Survivor main wanting Legion to be reworked because they worshipped something a YouTuber/Streamer said. Yes, his ability isn’t exactly the greatest to go against as a Survivor, but what a lot of people don’t understand that (and this is just MY opinion on Legion since day one when I started maining him back in December) he focuses entirely on slowing down in-game METAs, which is Gen Rushing, Looping, and Insta-heals. I view him as a jack of all trades as he actually can perform all 3 of these but not as well as other Killers can in one specific tier of the three stated. He has counters and weaknesses that not a lot of people really want to take the time to learn, as due to the fact they DC before they get the chance to even see if the Legion they’re going against is any good. Again, I’d like to thank you for making this, it really makes me feel better knowing that some people are willing to at least explore deeper into Legion than those who will complain about reworks and removal of such a unique and interesting killer. :)
Thank you, it's just my insight on the killer itself from my experience facing and playing him. I've played him in the PTB and got him to P3-50 in 3-4 days of his release, and all I've seen are people band-wagoning that they hate him and this and that.
To be honest I don't think people hate Legion (Well some do) I just think its because of the mob-mentality of X saying its bad so Y should share that opinion too while not playing him worse or facing him once as a survivor. But its nice to also see others gave him a chance rather than just assuming the worst and that was that.
Of course he needs to be touched up on also, but what killer doesn't need a re-touch these days.

Leatherface can be looped or hidden from. Any Killer can be looped or hidden from. Except The Legion. This is why The Legion is broken. Because they can’t be looped and they can’t be hidden from.
I’m not saying that every Killer should be loopable, The Nurse is a prime example. She can’t be looped, but she can be lost and hidden from. The Doctor cannot be hidden from, but he can be looped. Every Killer has a play style that can be used against them.
The Legion does not. With good add-ons, The Legion is OP, because they can down Survivors quickly with no counter. With any other add-ons, The Legion is #########—to an extent. Sure, they can be gen rushed. But they can tunnel with a 99% guarantee of 1 kill. Because no matter how many Feral Frenzy hits it takes, that one Survivor that The Legion tunnels will go down eventually.
Actually, the Legion can be hidden from by avoiding his terror radius while hes in Feral Frenzy. He can only see your aura during frenzy when you're in his Terror Radius, and since its not a big terror radius its pretty easy to avoid being chain frenzied by him
Regardless if you get away from it and he chases after you, you can still divert him away from the others so they don't get hit by him. Saying you can't loop Legion makes no sense, they are as fast as Hag, and while yes they have the ability to hop over vaults and pallets, they can be mind gamed into being hit by the pallet which depletes their frenzy meter to zero and wastes more of their time.
I can agree the add-ons need to be redone, but when you look at most killers which OP add-ons I can't help but say that applies to most killers also. And yes, the Legion will most likely guarantee a down if they tunnel a specific person long enough, but yet again the same can be said about any killer they actively tunnels a specific survivor to death.
And if its a good Legion that does get 1 kill...its better than your entire team being dead isn't it? You can't say every Legion is guarantee'd 1 kill every game, that's like saying every Nurse will 4k every match they play on. This ties back into what I said before (Not every Killer that plays Legion is the same, they have their own play-styles and ways of thinking.)
And also the doctor can be hidden from, lockers block his passive shocks, so its not really difficult to stealth away from him if you understand where a good locker position is.

It is funny because I do better with other killers than Legion. If it was op it wouldn't be that way for sure.
At this point its more and more obvious people in this community like picking the most hated killer at the time and bandwagon on it till the next worst killer comes along.
All I heard back before Legion came out was how annoying and boring doctor was to face and play, now I hear nothing bad about him.

@TheHourMan said:
I think Legion's power is fine the way it is. Only his add-ons need to be looked at a little. Frank's doesn't suit the playstyle of Legion. And Legion's red pin is kind of worthless tbh. Just like Wraith's version of this. The problem with those two add-ons is that, while they are useful for knowing where to go, they take up a valuable add-on slot that can make the difference between a 30-second chase and a minutes long chase.
Its the opposite for me tbh, red pin is more useful than smoking mixtape.
And I think Franks works well with Legion because it ties into his power, does it mean its still busted though? Obviously, they should just redo the add on entirely, but I feel that's not gonna solve the issue.

I used thano and sloppy too. I've seen many leguons that take those and ruin as well however.
Not sure if theres a point if its being nerfed. I cant help but feel it is legion related in some way.
Honestly I don't think they're nerfing Thanato because of Legion, that'd just be working against what they're doing for him.
I think it has to do with something else. Whatever that may be it doesn't make sense either.
-
So in the most recent Q & A session, it was asked if the grind for BP's should be altered in someway to help players level up characters faster (image attached), whilst this was not the thought I had for the reason common bloodpoint gain offerings to be removed, I think it would definitely help in this instance.
The legacy players are rolling in their graves right about now.
-
I think the following offerings can be retired, for reasons I'll explain. Fog modifiers.
I agree with these offerings being retired. Fog modifiers are just a meme, they're hardly useful except for like Freddy or cold wind farm maps (if you get the ones with corn.)
As for the shrouds if they're not retired at the very least switch the killers shroud with the survivors shroud. Because killers want the entire group to be on one gen, it makes it easier to apply pressure, and giving the killers the shroud to separate them just hinders themselves. This includes giving them the option to thicken the fog, it just handicaps yourself.

Yeah super sad i cant have one good build on one killer and put it on the next without it being lame for the killer or justput off as a meme build
It all depends on the killer itself, their power, their speed, their terror radius, and height even plays a roll sometimes.
For some reason most people overlook this and focus on the one specific killer the perk goes well with. And the nerfs making that more obvious... (That's if they're nerfing it because of Legion, I can't think of any other reason why they're nerfing it.)
-
@Fenrir said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/365339#Comment_365339
Yes all perks should be good so all killers can have different and fun builds to use and keep survivors geussing
I guess people don't see it that way though, they just view it as the meta for a specific killer. So in that logic it should be nerfed and be rendered useless for every killer then right? Wrong.
-
@The_Crusader said:
I'm guessing the disconnect against Legion would go even higher if they did.
For my Legion, Thanato is an important role with my perk set up. That's why I don't use ruin on my Legion because its that effective. With that being said, if another Legion uses my set up while using ruin it is going to be a bad time for the survivor team.
And if they buff Thanato it would just make my build even more powerful, but IMO the perk needs to be buffed because it shouldn't only be useful for one killer.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Pretty good buff so far.
They should at least just leave it as it is. 6/9/12/15.
I wonder if this is Legion related.
Probably, I don't use ruin on Legion because of thanato.

@Master said:
He is in a similar spot like freddy. He needs a buff, but preferably via a rework
Changes to the power itself? I'm open for debate. However, erasing the power all together as most people hope doesn't solve the actual issue at hand.
People fail to see that erasing his power would mess with a lot of things. They'd have to rework BT (Again) and re-establish how things were before Deep Wound was applied. And on top of that why would they remove an entire status effect? Because some people don't like it? People don't like Nurse too but I don't see her getting deleted ever.

The power is just too strong for the game, DW and Vaulting together makes it impossible to balance. Take out the DW he's too strong. Take out the Vaulting he still has DW and can still eventually get you, slower than before but it'll happen. IDK what they're planning for Legion but it has to be a rework yeah. If they manage to find a way to fix them then thank goodness and they deserve my money because it would be impressive.
They're not gonna rework the entire concept and power of a killer because the community dislikes them, why do you think Nurse is still OP to this day?
These killers are only good in the hands of killers that can use them, I agree Legion doesn't take that much skill to effectively use, but most Legions I see do everything wrong or most things wrong.
The only reason people hate Legion is because of the Mend, Heal, Mend, Heal, Mend, Heal game of tag you play with him. So why is it though that when I play against him I just mend and heal then never get found again till like 2 gens pass? I think people are just blowing his power out of proportion at this point.

I believe the devs have something up their sleeves. It would be the perfect time to introduce rewards for red ranks since it is even more of a challenge to get to it.
Purple ranks is basically the old red ranks.
This will honestly feel more of a challenge then constantly ranking up so fast and then barely getting a match.
And with this system everyone will be able to get a match faster.
For me killer is easier to get to red ranks [Since you can double pip each game if you do well or fair] while most survivor games are just 1 pip since double piping as survivor means you had to do everything lmao.
