^^^ This is what I've been saying since EGC release ^^^

I've come to realize, that Survivors are in a situation now where it is better for them to stand next to a door if they know the other remaining is about to die, and wait for the killer to close the hatch -(killer always finds it first anyway, due to not hiding, and faster movement speed) Then they will have a chance to open the door while waiting for the killer to come to them after closing the hatch. Granted, this only will help against a slow killer, or if gates are apart, and if the hatch spawns on the side of the map as your gate, you're screwed.

Hopefully this post, or an echo of this post can get to BHVR's ears. Or not, we'll have to see.

Legion to me, is right down in the meh territory. Not good, but not bad either. The power is just a maybe when it comes to helping out in the chase, thanta, sloppy, m/a just works so well on legion.

Post patch legion however, to me just seems to have no incentive to spread that damage not when i can just tunnel someone and just slug them and hide nearby to use them as bait. The dw mechanics now give me no incentive to spread the damage unlike before, and just seem to promote tunneling iunstead doubly so when i have a mori.

Anyone can agree he's Mid-Tier now just because of the fact hes a M1 killer now. Any M1 killer is Mid-Tier but like I said above, their powers dictate if they stay Mid-Tier or not, and since his power is borderline worthless in most scenarios he could be as I said the WORST killer in DBD.

(Yes even worse than Freddy, at least Freddy has Add-ons that help with his situation. BHVR butchered all of Legions including the ones that didn't need to be changed.)

I personally think Legion works best (for me) when using him for tracking, first hits, and stalling overall. I've legitimately had survivors not realize I can see them after I hit their teammate, so I try to abuse that.

When I was cleaning out his Streamers and Puddings since he's no longer the best farmer anymore I realized people still hide despite there being knowledge that he can see people in FF.

Also I said I cleaned out his inventory mainly because there was some unique things about Legion that made him stand out above the rest, one of those things was something I called "Force Farming" where Legion was able to farm a team even if they didn't want to farm and wanted to just play a match.

The killer himself was a massive BP machine and i'm unaware if BHVR knew that or not. If they did that could explain some reason behind a few of the unorthodox changes that focused on this trait he had. (That and the killer was just broken in the right hands overall, but that being said he could be built around being fair if the devs put enough thought into it. Instead were left with...This...)

  • Nothing I guess, the map itself is terribly designed and so is The Game. Most maps in this game need a rework but still never get one.

  • 4 Minutes Vs Infinity +1 Minutes

    Hmmm.

  • what I would like on console is to have an exclusive outfit for players who have played since 2017 to thank those who have played since 2017 it would make me…

They actively avoid doing exclusives anymore since the last one was added during the howling grounds for the huntress's wolf mask.

They don't do this anymore because too many people cry about not getting those skins, so they don't do it anymore. I love exclusive skins from past events you were there to get, but sadly too many people don't want that to happen and want it to be a all year around thing. So its whatever, I've grown to accept it.

    @FireHazard

That would work perfectly but again, that depends on the developers since it's their game.

I mean hey, they said on stream its all RNG so they can't do anything. But I feel they say that because they haven't actually considered that option yet.

Maybe if they see this post they'll think about it, or if someone asks in their Q&A

I've never understood why killers overrate the game so much. Nearly every pallet is save and most killers are garbage on it.

These forums are just a dumpster of complaints, but that's with most game forums tbh.

However, I feel this specific forum has that issue in spades most of the time.

  • @anarchy753 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/471578#Comment_471578

Yeah, he can stab multiple survivors, the issue is Deep Wound no longer presents any real threat, and most of the time to mend is completely negated by the amount of time it takes to get to the next survivor who still has just as much ability to sit under a pallet and negate their whole chaining ability anyway. His chases are also longer than most killers, except maybe Trapper or Freddy, because he literally has no other play to down someone besides just chasing and looping. Nearly every other killer has SOMETHING that can aid them even a little mid chase, some are hard to use like Pig and Wraith, but they aren't incapable of downing with those hits.

He just has next to nothing going for him over being an M1 killer without a power for a large portion of the game.

Pre-Patch Legion didn't have this issue because most places he couldn't be looped and pallets could be mind-gamed for them to be dropped early, especially during the long route in the loop you could pop FF and hit them and move on to chain stab others to prov thanato and slow the game down even more.

This helped me to do this and I never used ruin on Legion in serious matches. Literally only time I used ruin on Legion was to get a feel for him in the PTB and a few days out of the PTB, after that I never used ruin on Legion again because you didn't need it.

A lot of Legions didn't know how to use Legion properly either, and that resulted in a lot of Ls being passed around.

Now as for Post-Patch Legion hes just a shell of his former self and the only thing he has going for him is that hes just a M1 killer with a handicapped power. Nerfing something into the ground to please popular demand isn't always the way to go with certain characters in multiplayer games, and this was one of those situations where they nerfed him way too much to get people off their back.

Its sad how it had to come to that really. its also disappointing really.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/471527#Comment_471527

    @FireHazard

Well, let's consider some other variables:

    • The last survivor will usually wait till they aren't in the killer's terror radius before walking to the exit gates because it's the most safe call.
    • Let's assume they take at least 1 second to start opening the exit gates after they are in the clear from the terror radius.

If the survivor starts opening the gates whenever the Hag is 28.4 meters away (added 4.4 meters to her 24 meter terror radius to account for that extra second it takes to walk to the exit gates and start opening it), she will see the other gate from 16 meters in 9.9 seconds, assuming the gates spawned 88 meters from each other. Then she will comeback to see the gates opened at 16 meters in 12.7 seconds. The gates were already opened for 1.8 seconds because she made the trip to the second gate and back.

This is acceptable because she didn't put a trap at the gates, which would had bought her 2-5 seconds worth of time. Huntress is a complete different story because her secondary terror radius is 40 meters which can cause survivors to be too safe.

Perhaps there can be a sort of system where gates have a specific distance they spawn for specific killers put in place.

  • @anarchy753 said:

I tried to give him a go, but he's just so incredibly underwhelming. He has so many downsides that it just hurts.

EVERYTHING YOU DO seems to leave you with 0 power bar, even running faster recharge it felt like I was waiting for tremendous amount of time just to be able to use a really mediocre buff.

He has 0 power in a chase now, and while a lot of killers are 115%, killers like Pig and Wraith who have similar ambushes can at least ATTEMPT to use them within a chase to get the second hit. Legion is forced to chase at 115 without touching their power or they CANNOT down the survivor. If they do they can get close and then stun themselves only to leave a 4 second gap between themselves and the survivor anyway, it's completely useless.

Not only that, the only "benefit" their power is meant to have is being able to chain between survivors, but they still move pretty slowly between them. Survivors are revealed huge distances away and nothing is to stop them running the opposite direction to extend that gap and waste your power. Sitting under a pallet also means the Legion either stares at you until their power bar drains, or tank the stun (MAYBE getting a hit) which drains their power, meaning they cannot chain anyway. It was the biggest frustration of playing them that just sitting near a pallet was a foolproof way to counter their power 100%. You don't need to drop it until they try to hit you, and if they don't they revert to an M1 killer anyway.

He has what he used to which is to chain stab multiple survivors, but as stated above I used Thanatophobia to maximize this part of his ability, and they nerfed that for WHATEVER reason, so now to even use him I depend on ruin to help me in most cases, Thanato still works its just worse than it already was before.

And it was bad in the first place.

  • @NMCKE said:

I have this thread bookmarked because I actually think this needs addressing.

    Clarification:

I want the killer to have an advantage in the End Game, but at the same time, it shouldn't be impossible for the survivor to escape either. Therefore, this is what needs to happen to achieve this need:

    • Gates cannot spawn within LoS from each other.
    • Minimum spawn distance: 64 meters
    • Maximum spawn distance: 88 meters

At minimum distance, the 115% killers will take 16 seconds to traverse 64 meters.

At maximum distance, the 115% killers will take 22 seconds to traverse 88 meters.

Before you say "that's really OP" hear me out: You usually don't have to traverse the full 64-88 meters because can just check them from a distance. For example: Let's say you can see both exit gates whenever you're 16 meters away from them, and they spawned 88 meters from each other (worst case). Doing the math, 88 meters - 32 meters = 56 meters, which is a 14 second patrol cycle with a 115% killer. It's not that bad tbh.

A reasonable idea, but did you account for killers such as Hag and Huntress who only have a walk speed of 4.4?

This isn't the issue with hatchets and traps, but say you didn't put them on the gate and or there is stuff blocking a gate from throwing a hatchet at.

There is a minimum coded into the game. They actually addressed this a stream for EGC. The gates have spawning rules, but are still procedurally generated by the game so you're always going to have instances where you'll get gates being side by side in a sense.

Yes we're aware of this, but the thing is that system is entirely flawed do to cases like this occurring in EGC, it shouldn't be a 100% win for the killer when the hatch is closed, if a survivor who did everything while their team did nothing is at the ends of his ropes he should be given some what of a chance.

Of course the same can apply to someone who did nothing while their team did everything, but hey nothings perfect sadly.

  • @Boss said:

Well i immediately see 2 downsides to it. (At least, they're downsides to me personally.)

    • It's completely based on 1 license. There's no room for originality besides within the license's own lore, and there's not gonna be any other licenses involved.
    • It's a shooter. I'm soooo incredibly bored of those. My favorite one is Left 4 Dead 2 with mods, but i haven't played that in months.

Hell just take a look at Street Fighter V, a multiplayer game of an iconic franchise developed by a major AAA publisher. It had a poor launch as a Sony console exclusive 3 years ago. Even though it would be a huge benefit for Capcom for the game to launch on Xbox One (a platform of 40 million consoles) that hasn't happened. Why? Because Sony helped fund the game.

If Capcom of all developers can't even get out of a Sony contract I doubt a indie studio like Illfonic can.

Anything Sony exclusive leds to a bottle neck of a community for a game.

I see that game being good on PS4 but over time the player base will die cause Sony never plays nice

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/62685/my-thoughts-on-post-patch-legion

Actually, if I start to compare killers with legion ... legion would be very below others. Before starting, for me, a killer is good when his POWER gives him resources to catch the survivor, while a killer is only M1 is quite useless in the game.

    - Legion: M1 Killer [M2 (useless)] ... Well, you get free hits and then ... M1 chase). Another thing, Legion can not catch the survivors with his M2 because he receives a stun BASE of 4 seconds, which, the survivor will have defenses to defend himself, like a pallet nearby or a window.

    - The PIG: Another killer with Freedy and Legion who are ... passing a bit by the garbage truck, basically "garbage". Why? Pig is another killer of M1, because his M2 is quite useless, very RNG and does not help the killer to reach the survivors or even ... slow down the game? Their RNG factors are too high and this penalizes the killer much to the point of being useless in some games. The luck must be with this killer.

    - Freeddy: Another killer garbage next to ... legion, I'm sorry but it's reality.

Let's compare with the other killers that really seem correct to use M1 & M2, and thanks to the two uses of M1 and M2 helps the killer to catch the survivors more easily:

    - Wraith: M1 and M2 Killer, Great map control and positioning to bring down the survivors. I consider it much better than LEGION

    - Myers: M1 and M2 Killer. Early Game weak, but once you get level 2 and 3, it's where you get great power. It does not have a great mechanic of pressing M2 to stalk and get easy casualties, but its mechanics are not very special but even so, it is a killer M1 and M2. Since a good player manages his level 3 to make big plays and this makes a player of Myers is really good and that is M2 and is quite useful.

    - Billy: I have nothing to say .. well, great control of Map and also M1 and mostly M2 killer. Its power is based on M2, not M1.

    - Nurse: Like Billy, it is a killer that needs its power to reach a hit, therefore, I consider it in M2 killer.

    - Plague: Quite different from the others with a very interesting mechanics. M1 and M2 killer clearly, it looks like the current legion, but legion is far behind plague, plague is an M2 killer, mostly uses its M2 to be able to shoot down the survivors. Once you get a free hit (get the survivor to enter the disease state) you will use M1. And to say that his power "increased" makes it M2 to provide even more power to catch more quickly the survivors. Of course plague is 1000 times above that legion.

    - Clown: Although I do not play it much, but it is a killer of M1 and enough use of M2 to be able to catch the survivors. Clearly if you want to catch a survivor faster you should use his M2 power to catch him faster than using M1 ....

    - The Hag: Honestly I would not like to put this killer to compare it with legion, because ... it is a killer that must use its power to catch a survivor, as if it does not use its M2, this killer would be very hard to get a death. This killer is based on tricking the map. A very annoying killer, because if he tricks loops it is difficult to escape from it, which makes it a killer danger. Its worst counterplay are the flashlights, that makes it lose power.

I would like to count the comparisons with the other killers, I have put some comparisons and I hope they are clear ... but it is clear that in this game, a killer where in his power does not get any benefit to help him in pursuits or help to catch the Survivor ... is considered "bad killer" or low tier or trash, as you want to call it.

I already stated above that through some discussions I came to the conclusion that his power is borderline worthless now.

So I agree with this 100%, he is now possible the worst killer in DBD jUsT aS eVERyOnE wAnTEd RiGhT?

  • @Mystaria13 said:

I haven't escaped even once as the last survivor since EGC. I play solo and have had several matches where I had a chance to escape but the odds are heavily stacked against me. The killer hooks the 3rd survivor and finds me and I'm being chased, the 3rd survivor died and hatch spawns and opens right beside where I'm looping the killer. I click R1 to jump in and feng starts to jump in just to get knocked out because the killer closed hatch when I hit R1 before he closed the hatch. If it's not like that then the killer closes the hatch and I get to a door and start opening it. It takes 20 seconds and has lights and 5 loud buzzers while opening it, I get the door about 75% when the hear the terror radius and the killer just follows me around till I die by the entity. I've also had the door at 99% when a huntress hit me with a hatchet and she wasn't close but it wouldn't give me the prompt to open the door anymore since I was hit and I had dead hard and would have escaped had it not been for it denying me the option to open the gate the rest. All I want is a fair chance but with this version of EGC the last survivor doesn't get a fair chance and the killer is guaranteed that 4k unless you have a key. 20 seconds with the lights and loud buzzers is too much. Remove the lights that show the doors been worked on or something.

I wouldn't go that far with the lights and 20 second base time. But I understand what you mean, in a case like this the odds are stacked against you, so its generally going to end in the killers favor most of the time.

Perhaps when they work on EGC they'll find a solution to problems like these for both survivor and even killer.

They all ready murdered the basement. You want the exit gates to be far enough away that a survivor can open them in the 20 seconds before a killer can patrol them.

Should we just make the EGC timer cause an automatic escape instead of an automatic sacrifice?

Would that be "fair" for the "little guy" who worked so hard to eat dirt and potentially have done literally nothing except sit in a locker all game?

I see your point and I can agree that I wasn't looking at that possible scenario where the last survivor did nothing while a team that was actually doing everything ended up rotting to the killer. I suppose in a plethora of scenario's that there will be one that rewards a lazy and undeserving play-style, but I feel that's in any video game to be fair.

I never asked also for the gates to be far enough away so that the survivor has a 100% chance of escape, I suggested that the gates be given a farther spawn than the current RNG spawn they have which is 30 Meters (One of the possible spawns) a part from each other, something like 42 or 40 is more reasonable, not a literal arms length with a possible hill spawn looking over both gates.

The double standard here is DISGUSTING.

Maybe people liked the long stand offs of looking at a hatch and some floor textures. To me it was just another day in DBD where if it happened I let them get the hatch or I slapped them at the hatch and went on my way, I suppose people have huge pride over this stuff.

I can't imagine why, its faster to die or escape through the hatch than it is to stand there for 5k extra points which could take up to 30 minutes+ to get. Maybe its the satisfaction people get? Who knows.

All i'm trying to say is, I can respect your views which clash against mine. But we can still discuss why these views are not the same. Nobody's trying to insult you or get upset about stuff, i'm just giving you my view on how I believe its not fair in some regards.

@FireHazard Mine is not a perfect algorithm, but it's unacceptable the Hag and the Nurse have the same treatment about the gates' spawning points. A remedy should be introduced quickly, otherwise the EGC for the last survivor would continue to be a death sentence or a free escape.

I'm sure you'll think of something reasonable.

No, losing doesn't sound fun, which is kinda the point. Why should losing be indistinguishable from winning?

As for your scenarios, the last survivor could have just been lucky. If the killer finds the last two survivors together and only kills one, the other one wasn't skillful, they were lucky. They survived as the result of a coin flip. The only constant in every 1v1 scenario is that the killer did their job.

A solo survivor does not have the odds stacked against them at the end. They have the same odds as before when it came to a 1v1 with the killer. They will lose with the same ease as if the rest of the team were alive. The only difference is that they've exhausted all their second chances at that point.

A 1v1 is fair. The killer did their job and killed all the other survivors. Why should the game be changed in such a way that the killer is equivalent to one survivor at that point?

Why does every argument have the "The killers just doing their job" mentality thrown in to defuse anything anyone says? Yes, the killers objective is to kill survivors and win... But that point is subjective and can be interpreted by others in different ways.

For example, yes I could kill everyone and have a literal one track mind towards the game and find enjoyment out of that yes. But to some others they seek a challenge, and to killers like me I seek a fair and enjoyable experience for both party's.

While yes you have just as much of a fair chance in a chase as you did with three other teammates the scenario is quiet different... dare I say... not as demanding as it once was, allow me to elaborate. With a team of 4 you must spread your objectives out to consider all possible routes to maximize pressure and reduce time and generators being wasted.

If we remove that factoid from a 1v1 with the hatch closed, its just a scenario of hide and seek depending on the gate spawn. As for if you close the hatch and find the survivor there is nothing they can do, sure they can do what they usually do and try and evade your attacks. But without a sense of urgency the killer has with a team the chase is utterly meaningless. You have a better choice of just letting them kill you than actually stand a chance.

And yes, the killer should have an advantage over one survivor its THE KILLER. But giving a literal ultimatum to the survivor (Get chased for X amount of time, Die to the Entity, or give up and rot on a hook) is some backwards logic to a scenario like this. That's not really an advantage over one side at that point, its just a GG you die with 0% of living in the end.

Now, this scenario will not always happen and some EGC's will be more in the survivors favor. But i'm starting to notice more and more despite the distance from each gate if its across the map or not its becoming more and more easy to patrol both and have enough time to catch the survivor before they open a gate each time. Especially with Remember Me, but we can't really remove that perk all together because of this new system. I just believe a more direct approach to this problem needs to be faced.

And if its Billy or Nurse patrolling those gates that's GG rip no matter how far the gates are, but its Billy and Nurse so.

All i'm saying is, i'm not 100% sure on how these scenarios need to be address to be fully honest, but that's why I made this discussion now didn't I? So we can discuss that problem T O G E T H E R!

Legion can still use their power to get an easier first hit than other M1 killers and can use it to track survivors. The tracking and mobility is still quite usefull. Stronger than Doc's tracking, I would say. Saying that they have no power anymore is an overstatement. It's just really clunky right now.

And it's not a handicap compared to Freddy's power e.g. which can really be a huge handicap in scenarios like when survivors fast heal a downed mate, before you can pick them up etc.

But at least in Freddy's scenario that's entirely a situational case. For Legion its kind of a overall problem he faces. I guess I was overstated that his powers useless, but I can still say its one of if not the worst powers out of all the killers now, and at the very least just makes me feel like i'm not even playing Legion at all.

Which sucks cause I actually enjoyed the direction he was going in (Ignoring his OP and abuse-able bugs) I enjoyed the concept of what they were going for, a rag tag gang of 4 teens rushing down survivors in a murderous frenzy, and as a result was captured decently/pretty well for what they came up with.

    @FireHazard

But just because they are in the top 5 doesnt mean they are the cream of the crop. Top 5s and Top 10s are just what we are used to the most, but in reality, depending on the topic, just because they are on a list doesnt mean they are the best thing that could have happened.

I placed Myers on "the rest" category because the "5th position" can be really subjective (even more than tier lists themselves). For example, if it was my list, Myers wouldnt even be the 5th place. That would be Huntress or someone else.

I never said he was the cream of the crop, I think what I was going for here is that in my personal view I believe him to be in the top 5 or at the very least number 6 or 7.

These lists are just opinion based, so its interpreted in many ways. But this is my view on said list, and yes the 5th spot is subjective that could go to huntress, Clown, Bubba even (Not too sure on that one) so its all just up to interpretation.

So you're "annoyed" that the third chance at escaping is tremendously harder than the second chance, which is the braindead free escape hatch. Which even opens when (not "if"!) survivors made 0 progress?

Be happy the hatch doesnt work for killers like it does for survivors. Getting instantly sacrificed for the killer finding the hatch would sure put the forum on fire.

I stated above that I disagree that they added that system where 5 gens still spawn a hatch, its just a get out of jail free card at that point unless the killer gets it first and the gates are within a patrol-able range.

Which in turn shows that the last survivor was boned from the beginning and had a better choice of DCing (Still not promoting DCing but you get the idea.)
