I personally recommend buying Killers that are fun to play as, such as Oni or Deathslinger, or Killers with good Teachables, such as the Plague, Bubba, or Hag.

  • @FMLN92

It's only good on Nurse imo. Other Killers don't need a bigger FOV. You can also use Monitor and Abuse if you wanna increase your FOV on other Killers since it has a powerful additional effect on most of them.

  • @arslaN

Hiding is the same as not being in a chase. A chase is started when a Survivor starts sprinting within 12 meters of the Killer's location.

  • @WynWins

There is no way to speed it up, Dead by Daylight takes a long time to update for some reason. It's absolutely normal that DbD might take ~45 minutes to update upon major Patches.

  • @treyplayx3

Cross-progression is unfortunately not a thing yet. However, it is more or less confirmed that cross-progression is on its way to the game. For the time being, there is no way to transfer your progress from one platform to another, even though cross-play between the Windows Store and Steam versions is enabled.

  • @bubba_is_bubba

I have regular lag spikes that started appearing on Patch 3.6.0 (not only when using DS). I eventually found a way to minimize their effect, but I still kinda lag when a skill check appears.

I advise you to report the issue at https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues.

Hey man Glad you answered Quickly! How do i mute survivor voices in the game files, can you provide me a text line i need to adjust or something of that sort? Please

It's a little complicated, you basically have to find their voice lines in the game files and replace them with empty sound files. I'm not experienced with DBD's game files, and I also don't necessarily recommend editing them since it might get you EAC banned.

  • @OhMyWords

There is no way to do it in-game, you'd have to open your game files, change the models on Unreal Engine and put the blank models back into the files, which I don't recommend since it is possible to get EAC banned for that.

As for muting Survivors' voices, that also is not possible unless you edit your game files.

I hope you're right ! I just had the feeling that before Stranger Things there were sales more often on the store.

Yeah :/ , they were. However, I'm sure there's one on the way.

The Patch notes specifically state that Great Skill Checks while repairing were reduced from 2% to 1%, this doesn't mean that every other skill-check was a 2% bonus by default. So either the DBD Wiki is wrong about every Great Skill-Check being 1%, only the repair Great Skill-Check was 2% until this nerf, or everything was 2% until this nerf that made Great Skill-Checks for repairing 1%.

It's not really possible for me to test this, I can't tell the difference between 1% and 2% because the percentage is too small to begin with. But I'll look into it and see what I can find for you.

    @DawnMad said:

    According to the patch notes:

"- Great Skill Checks while repairing now give 1% bonus progression (down from 2%)."

"- Stake Out: Now adds an additional 1% bonus progression for Great skill checks."

    Now this should mean;

    Without Stake Out:

    • Repair Great Skill Checks: 1% bonus
    • Healing Great Skill Checks: 2% bonus

    With Stake Out:

    • Repair Great Skill Checks: 2% bonus
    • Healing Great Skill Checks: 3% bonus

Now here is the thing, Wiki (https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Skill_Checks) states that all great skill checks grant 1% bonus progression default. Can anyone check which one is correct and which one is false? Thank you.

The skill check percentages displayed on the Wiki were recently updated.

  • @FabV

It is also the most recent licensed DLC. There haven't been any free weekends or discounts since its release, so all Chapters released after GF haven't had a discount yet. I think there might be one around Dead by Daylight's 4 Year Anniversary.

  • @Batman781

Chasing a Survivor for 15 seconds continuously will give the Killer Bloodlust Tier 1 (+5% movement speed). Continuing the chase for another 15 seconds will give the Killer Bloodlust Tier 2 (+10% movement speed). Continuing the chase for another 15 seconds will give the Killer Bloodlust Tier 3 (+15% movement speed). After that, the Killer won't gain Bloodlust anymore. It takes 45 seconds of a continuous chase to gain Bloodlust 3.

If a Survivor gets hit by any means, if you break a Pallet, get stunned, or the chase ends, you'll lose the Bloodlust you built up. Hits and breaking actions also reset the Bloodlust timer even when you don't have it yet.

You can find out more about Bloodlust on the DBD Wiki article for it: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Bloodlust

  • @ZackSax

I think the values behind the controller sensitivity were the ones changed, not the percentages. Basically, 100% now means 200% on the old versions.

And about the Archives, Tome III will come out tomorrow, presumably at 11 AM EST.

  • @Dzeikor

With the update that dropped out today, the long fences on Haddonfield have been adjusted. The biggest issue with Haddonfield was that the Killer could be literally infinited if the Survivors had BL. Since BL was nerfed, this issue wasn't a thing anymore.

I agree Haddonfield needs some changes such as adjustments to god windows, pallet safety etc. I suppose the Devs are working on it.

  • @ddubuckyee_user

The game is translated by BHVR themselves, there is no way to change it. I think the translation for Leader is outdated since it did affect the repair speed before, but idk what's going on with Iridescent Seal, it's supposed to make Vile Purge become Corrupt Purge every time a Gen is repaired.

I suggest you send a support ticket to Dead by Daylight at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. I suggest you tell them what language your game is on, what the mistranslated descriptions say, what they should say, and the English translation of both of them.

  • @jiguiri

For Survivor, I like running different builds every game, some gimmick builds included. However, if you're wanting to escape, I recommend running a meta build. Some decent meta perks include:

    • Decisive Strike
    • Dead Hard
    • Unbreakable
    • Iron Will
    • Adrenaline
    • Sprint Burst
    • Head On
    • Borrowed Time
    • Deliverance

For Killer, there isn't much you can do to slow down Gens on some Maps, but the best slow-down perks are Corrupt Intervention and PGTW. However, each Killer has a specific build that synergizes with their power, you mentioned the Killers you main, so the best builds for them are (in my opinion):

    • Legion: Save the Best For Last, Thanatophobia, Corrupt Intervention/PGTW, A Nurse's Calling.
    • Myers: Infectious Fright, Corrupt Intervention/PGTW, Monitor & Abuse, Brutal Strength/Enduring.
    • Huntress: Corrupt Intervention, PGTW, A Nurse's Calling, BBQ & Chili.

  • @Rezblaze

If the Survivors' wiggle bar is at ~75% or higher, they'll automatically escape if you drop them. Each time you drop a Survivor, they'll gain wiggle progression, hence why if you drop a Survivor 4 times, they'll escape your grasp.

  • @tiffanyq1

I had this very same issue some time ago. You need to check if the DLCs in question are installed, they are sometimes suddenly uninstalled. In order to check if you have all DLCs installed, go to DbD on your Steam Library, click the tiny gear at the top right corner of your screen, then click Properties, and DLCs.

  • No worries :)

  • @jiguiri

I suggest you report the issue at https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues so that people at BHVR can help you.

I would also try verifying the integrity of the game files, maybe it works.

  • No worries :D

  • @ToothlessONF

    I normally use:

    • Corrupt Intervention, because it gives you a bit of time to set your traps without having 2 Gens being popped.
    • Haunted Ground, because it gives you an insta-down potential.
    • Save the Best for Last, because as an M1 Killer, the Trapper can benefit a lot from using this perk, getting some clutch hits if you have all stacks of STBFL.
    • Infectious Fright, because it gives you a lot of information when downing a Survivor, it's good on any Killer.

Note: You can use Whispers instead of Haunted Ground, it works just as good. Barbecue & Chili is also a good perk if you need some Bloodpoints.

  • @batmanscar

The Blindness status effect makes it so that you cannot see any Auras. When you enter a Locker you always gain this status effect, meaning you essentially cannot see Auras while in Lockers. However, your Aura can't be seen as well (specific to Lockers, not to the Blindness effect itself).

I have contributed to other game wikis so I don't know how this one works but there are games where besides devs don't update the wiki, they give some info to contributors when it's hidden (server side code values for example).

I'm curious if that kind of interaction between devs and wiki contributors is common here too.

For the past year or so, all data containing any values on the wiki originates from the game code itself thanks to dataminers. If that is not the most accurate source, then we don't know what else is. We will, however, be working together with the devs in the near future.

  • @xOMNISCIENTx

A lot of people bought the Chains of Hate Chapter since its release, but now, people seem to be more motivated to play Deathslinger thanks to a lot of people buying the Bunny Feng Outfit. Idk, just seems to be a gimmick.

  • @Raulillo said:

It's a fact that the wiki has wrong or outdated information, I don't know if it is updated by developers from time to time. There are things that are wrong like gate keeper emblem information and there are other wiki articles that could be wrong and we don't know.

If a value change from 1% to 2% people won't notice without hints in the patch notes. Even with a phrase in the patch notes there are balance changes that will not be that important to most of the player base and people won't notice. So a "slightly" being 1% or 1.075% it's a thing that I prefer to look outside the game because I don't want to translate from <numbers> to <how it's supposed to be played>, in a competitive game I can understand that information is displayed but in this game I think is not relevant for the most part of the players.

I know, there are some players out there that have a timed path for every tile with every perk in the game and even a 0.00001% value change can destroy their perfect though build. They are not even a big enough group to be found every day in your matches.

The Wiki is not run by the Devs, it's run by Community Members just like you. We couldn't update the values for the Gatekeeper Emblem because we weren't able to get its values from the game files.

If you feel like something's wrong, feel free to go there and fix it yourself. I am completely open to suggestions, so are my fellow Admins, this link contains my wiki profile with some platforms you can contact me on: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/UserProfile:FichteHiro0202. I'm a nice guy, feel free to contact me if something's up with the Wiki.

We always give a reason and visibly annotate if any information is not up-to-date.

If I spend 20€ of auric cells the first one will be the pig, then should I take an huntress cosmetic (the event one), something else or wait for one that I could like in future?

I didn't buy full outfits, I bought individual pieces of various outfits. It's up to you, I recommend buying an outfit for the Character you play the most/you main.

  • @Francesco044

I spent 20€ worth of Auric Cells the first time I decided to buy them. I was able to buy a lot of cosmetics by using them as effectively as possible.

I think 20€ is a good amount to spend if you want to buy Auric Cells, you can almost buy two complete very rare outfits and a lot of rare and uncommon cosmetics.

  • @nighttrash3

I don't think there's a way to change your UI scale in-game, just editing your user settings in the game files. You can disable fullscreen and make the tab a little bit bigger, pretty sure this makes the UI a bit smaller.

  • @batmanscar

If the Map contains an iconic building of and is named after something of a trademarked brand (such as Haddonfield - Halloween), then they do need permission from the related company.

  • @Viceus

    1. Yes, it does, it increases your healing speed when healing others regardless of the Survivor's current health state.
    2. No, Botany Knowledge only increases your personal healing speed and efficiency, not other Survivors'.
    3. No, ditto.

So I had a post that someone got a little toxic on and the people he attacked flagged my thread and it got deleted. So thanks for that.

my question was why do killers camp? I have my own ideas and I’m not asking for the opinions of people that don’t play as killer. I was once a killer main until everyone kept DC’ing on me. So I made the move to survivor and have stayed pretty much to do that role but I get why people were DC’ing. Campers.

So my question is why do you camp? What makes you think that strategy works? I mean you get jack all for blood points so I don’t see the point.

Please help me understand why you need a crutch like that to play because maybe you don’t realize or don’t care but it really takes away from the fun of the game. No one wants to wait in the long queues that can happen just to get downed and face camped.

Borrowed Time is certainly the best way of dealing with a camping killer.

As to the reasons why they do it, it's mainly when a Survivor annoyed the Killer by t-bagging, flashlight clicking, running them around for long etc., because the other Survivors are nearby/they can't find other Survivors, or because they don't know any better.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    1. Yes.

    2. Not really.

    3. Situational.

Ok, so it's not just me. At first, it looked like I was the only one having that issue, but now I know that more people are also having it.

  • The opinions on the Achievement are equally divided I feel. I personally think it's a hard one and you really have to use specific builds to get it.

  • @dreofanarchy said:

To say there isn’t a way to stop it is just ignorance. They have perks that can activate like Steve Harrington’s perk if you are in the struggle phase the timer stops if another survivor is nearby. So why not use those mechanics to note when a Killer stays witihin let’s say 16m (the kindred Max) then they start losing bloodpoints and if they spend too much time in that radius then they start losing pips.

Tunneling yes you are right because there’s a lot of definitions but camping is as straight forward as it gets

The Devs tried to implement a mechanic that would make the hooked Survivor die more slowly if the Killer was in a 16m radius of the Hook. However, it was being abused, so they stepped back and removed it.

    1. My first game will have hiccups and stutters no matter what. No idea what that's about but it's there I guess. It's fine after the first 10 minutes though.
    2. My ping has been surprisingly good recently. Highest it's been it's probably 100ms.
    3. Quick Draw isn't a hard achievement, it's just annoying and kind of worthless imo. I disagree with Mandy on this, because this achievement is not challenging, nor is it rewarding or fun to work towards it. I like achievements being fun rather than a grind.

Seems to be the opposite for me. I only start lagging after playing continuously for like half an hour.

And yeah, I agree, you have to grind your way to the achievement.

1: Framerate has always been bad on DBD console

2: No, not really. However sometimes Im getting some ridiculous lag and hits after the dedicated servers came out. But they do help with the queues, I'll admit that.

3: I never strive for achievements

My friend also has FPS problems on console, but it's been happening very often for me on PC.

Did you read the post? I don't need a refund, I need the right character to be credited to my account. They should absolutely be able to do that especially considering I haven't touched Yui. Also, I'm using anti-consumer to mean "not favorable to consumers : improperly favoring the interests of businesses over the interests of consumers" per Merriam-Webster, not to imply that BHVR has done anything illegal.

As I said, since you didn't spend money on Shards, there is no juridical argument to say it's anti-consumer, just go check the website of the Federal Trade Commission if you don't believe me (you aren't getting any products via money transaction, you ain't their costumer in this case). I definitely think they should give you the Character you wanted, but you have to consider it might not be possible in a practical standpoint. I definitely think you should report it as a bug, their response wasn't really fitting, it's not a feedback thing.

  • @Terra92 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1219314#Comment_1219314

Well yeah, they're liable for that stuff. If someone purchased something but didn't receive their item then that's an open and shut lawsuit, easy money for a lawyer.

Yeah, they can easily be sued if you have any evidence you purchased a product and didn't receive it. Contacting the Bureau of Consumer Protection would be enough if they didn't give you the Auric Cells you bought, but fortunately, they normally handle all issues with Auric Cells with great transparency.

  • I assume they work the same way as on all other platforms.

  • Crossplay is on the way, but cross-progression is a different story. I think there will be a crossplay option between PC, Console and Switch Players, but the mobile version of DbD has many distinct features unique to itself and lacks some features available on other platforms, which would make crossplay between PC and Mobile quite challenging.

  • @PigMainBigBrain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/144938/iridescent-shards-being-non-refundable-with-no-exceptions-is-anti-consumer

I wouldn't say thats anti consumer....but what it is is....

Really ######### customer support. Clearly be it a bug or whatever something jumped the shark and made you purchase the wrong item or thing or whatever. You can always gauge the professionalism of a game team based on their ability to fix player error or in game error. And in this case....that was a really ######### response from them. Most normal teams will say

"Thanks for the ticket, we will investigate further and get back to you"

And if they can look at the log and go "ok this thing was purchased" All we have to do is go into the account and remove the tag for Yui being owned and replace it for the Oni tag without having to refund any shards or whatever.

If they don't have an easy way to tackle a problem like this then BHVR is slacking incredibly hard compared to most modern game companies and needs to step up their game quite literally. And if they do have a way to resolve it and are just being robotic in their response then.... ######### it....don't spend another dollar.

And before you say, "B...b....but iridescent shards are free"

If they can't handle free earned in game currency and purchases why the ######### would you trust them with real money?

They seem to be better at handling issues with Auric Cells, I had a friend of mine purchase Auric Cells but not get them. He sent DBD a support ticket and got his Auric Cells, so idk.

Low has textures like Ultra as of rn. You could compare shack to an older vid on low quality and now and u'd see a lot of difference. But yeah,it does start to drop after some time, true that.

I usually play at 0% resolution or less, so I couldn't note that much of a difference. But yeah, I saw that all textures got significantly better.

    1. yes a lot, but was before the last patch, now is a little less than before

    2. Sometimes, specially as a survivor

    3. I had 3 interrupts in normal matches legit, but being one of my last 2 achievements locked, I took my wraith equipped with NOED, I downed the last survivor alive in the match, carry him to my totem and indicate him to cleanse it, I manage to get 2 grabs before all of them gave up, it took me around 9 matchs to get it done!

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/528/5YI2NZLV5ESR.jpg

Yeah, I got it because of farming Survivors too, unfortunately. It is really hard to get it without the Survivors cleansing a Totem in front of you.

For me, ping increases predominantly happen while playing Killer.

  • @luka2211 said:

Ever since 3.6.0 my fps has been bonkers. They made all textures of everything look like ultra quality, could be to do with it. But something is just weird, dunno. Fps just doesn't feel good anymore for me,before i'd have 120 all the time now I have a lot lower

My textures still look the same, but my fps suddenly drops from 30 to 5. This happens a lot, but only after I've played for a while (maybe 45 mins continuously).

  • If you send DBD a support ticket, they should help you get your cells. The same happened to a friend of mine and they got their cells after they contacted the DBD support team.

  • The Devs stopped creating common and uncommon Map Offerings since the Huntress was released. I don't think exchanging Add-ons for Offerings would be a good idea since this could be abused by some players, but it's certainly interesting.
