When mixed with something else, such as enduring, its pretty good. However there are other, better perks i could be running.
-
As killer my personal favorite is whispers. Theres no hiding from it and more importantly, it tells me if an area is clear. So i know not to waste time searching it. If bbq didnt have the bp bonus id almost never use it.
-
Trapper. Its satisfying when you catch someone in a trap. Like you out smarted them.
-
That is how all my nurse matches go. I land perfect blinks then i start screwing up easy stuff
-
A few months ago i would have said ds.
-
"Is this blue? Are you charging me 2 dollars for a $#&%ing blue gun?" :p

survivors should not be greedy for 4 escapes and let go of one of them.
Im a trapper main. One thing that killer teaches you is sometimes you need to cut your losses. Theres a point where attempting a rescue just adds to the body count.
-
The only good thing i can say about this year was the ds fix. That perk was broken for 4 years. Now its in a good place.
Everything else however.......yeah. Been pretty disappointing.

Hey, everyone's got that one game. Heck even the sims has gotten a chunk of my money.... But their DLCs are as much as base game 😭
The cool thing about warhammer 1 and 2 is the dlc carries over to the next game. If you buy warhammer 2 you get all those factions and the campaign mode. Which is one half of the world map. Then theres mortal empires mode which uses the entire world map and all the factions from the first game. The 3rd game comes out sometime this year and any factions I have now i can use when it gets here.
Its how they hook you. They give you a coupon for the game to give to a friend. They buy it and see all the other factions sold separately and if you want to use them all you need to buy the previous game. Its justified because the base content alone is enough to occupy you for a few hundred hours.
-
I got the game like 4 years ago on sale. When we could buy characters with shards i usually had enough for a chapter release. I bought like 3 cosmetics in total and i never spent money on the rift pass.
Personally i feel ive spent more money on total war: warhammer 1-2.
-
Both sides feel entitled. However since there's 4 survivors for each killer. Survivors are a bigger piece of the problem.
My favorites are the ones the quit a match and play the victim. Ive never played any other game where people quit then complain they got hit by a dc penalty. Theres no point in arguing with these people. You quit, you get a penalty. End of discussion. I dont care if you weren't having fun. Unless real life stuff came up or someone is legit hacking, you shouldn't dc.

So because a survivor perk got buffed the killers are supposed to immediately receive the same? That’s not how balancing works... even then a lot of killer perks are somewhat usable regardless if they’re meta or not.
Its not how balancing works, correct. However ive seen survivors ask the same thing when killers get a buff. Both sides do it so we can't tell one to stop when the other gets an exception. Otherwise were just like twitter, YouTube or any other social media :p

It took 5 years for Iri head to be nerfed.
It took 5 years for mori's to be in an acceptable position.
BHVR makes a lot of questionable decisions regarding balance, but saying they are Survivor sided is foolish.
DS took 4 years.
Undying+ruin took 3 months.
.......?
-
Both introduce bugs so i kinda dont want either.
-
Separate but equal is not constitutional :p
-
I bumped into a blenddette by chance and got called a wall hacker because everyone knows blendette is invisible.
-
The devs have disappointed me on the last 2 killers. Im hoping 3rd times a charm but my expectations are low.

Kill rates and experience of many solo players state otherwise. Solo does need a buff.
But not to be on par with swf.
-
Swf is broken and solo doesnt need to be buffed to that lvl. Swf needs to be brought down.
-
My dream chapter was the recent change to DS >.>
-
Once in awhile we do but most of the time we stay on comms encase the killer is a try hard. I admit it is more fun when discord is down. The only games we certainly play without comes are Among Us and Deceit.

Mr. X was dbd before dbd existed
literally can't understand you. like, you're speaking english, but anything beyond that is nonsense.
Mr X can bust through a cement wall and were suppose to believe a wooden pallet can stop him? Wesker can do some Devil May Cry/Bayonetta #########. Chris can push a boulder the size of a garage. In RE you can kill almost anything that's chasing you. In DBD your not meant to be able to fight back. Your suppose to run away. While you do run from Mr X but that's not because you can't fight. It's because it's a waste of ammo. Just because both games are horror does not mean they are the same.

It fits perfectly.
In RE you can fight what's chasing you. You can even explain every monster in RE as genetics gone wrong. At least in Silent Hill their monsters tend to be supernatural. The more I understand it, the less terrifying it is.
-
I really feel RE does not fit into dbd. The trickster chapter must have REALLY sucked if they are teasing it so soon after release.

It has absolutely gotten worse in the games I play (I didn't use DS before the nerf). Killers know DS isn't that good now (pretty much everything deactivates it) and are now tunneling more. I still like DBD, but I've been playing way less because of the tunneling and camping.
If your being tunneled it still works just as well. It could be because survivors can't be greedy with it, the gens are taking longer to repair. More time in the match means the killer has more chances to get hooks. Either way, I'm happy with how DS is now.
-
What bothers me even more is when I bring kindred as solo, I'm on the hook, the killer is face camping me and they STILL aren't doing gens.
-
Demo is licensed and draws in more customers than the twins.
-
I think Tr3 said it best. "Just because the killer downs you doesn't mean he's OP."
-
If I get bullied I switch to my Nurse
-
I don't think tunneling has gotten "worse". I think now that DS isn't OP survivors are realizing they suck without it.
-
I think I belong in purple. At times I do very well with my chases and other times I do horrible. As survivor I have a tendency to run to dead zones. Which is why I'm starting to run Windows of Opportunity.

Thank you! I hate when I've worked my ass off during the match and my other team mates clearly made poor life choices and died. Now it's just me and one other person. More folks need to be selfless and die to at least give the person not on the hook a chance. If I or they find the hatch, I see it as a partial victory for the both of us. Sacrifice is always appreciated and i usually message them. Unless they're on PC as I'm on console. I wish we have a thank you option.
Im a trapper main. I know from experience that sometimes, you gotta cut your loses. I've snagged many a 4k due to over altruism.

We used to have a tree we could run off of to trigger balanced landing on that map... :( Guess it was too strong to be kept in the game or something
Now the only thing on shelter woods that triggers BL is the basement steps -.-

@Xayrlen said:
It's hilarious how if the killer camps and secures a kill he will still derank, but a survivor who did nothing and used the hatch will never get a -1 because just surviving makes your score fine.
What's even more hilarious is that the first thing you reffer to is camping for a win. This is exactly why hatch exists, to avoid boring killers with even more boring playstyles.
The hatch exists so if 3 people are dead and the gens aren't done. You still have a chance to escape. The hatch wasn't made so someone with a key can leave when they don't like the killer.
-
Most TTVs I run into suck. When playing killer the TTVs are the first one to rage quit when they get caught. As a survivor TTVs usually are bad teammates. They don't repair gens. They try to grab the killer's attention instead of doing the objective. I've seen a TTV with a flashlight follow the killer who was chasing someone else. Just so they could try to get a flashlight save. That whole time would have been better spent repairing a gen. TTVs usually are more concerned with putting on a show and make for terrible teammates. That's been my experience.
-
If the gens aren't done and there's 2 survivors left. You pretty much lost at that point and the hatch is like a last chance thing. If 2 people are dead, I'm on the hook and the killer is chasing the 4th. At that point I just give up so they can try to find the hatch cause no one else is escaping at that point.
But yeah. It is annoying with randoms who give up and hide. Hoping you will be found first so they can grab the hatch.

Honestly the only killer who is good on that map
Trapper is the only time I like playing on Haddonfield. Some of those rooftops can only be accessed by a window. If you trap the roof side there is no way for survivors to disarm it. Unless they step in it.
@C3Tooth said:
Trapper is extremely map dependent.
Some map like Game, Hawkin..have to place to trap. AutoHeaven is considered as weakest open map for Trapper.
Some map like MacMillan, Yamaoka are good for him. Asylum and new Coldwind are madness OP with him, traps go invisible in many places
Lerys isnt that great either. There's some grass but there's so many ways around things that traps are rare.
-
TL:DR
I'm calling it now. Even with a totem counter. They still won't do bonez
-
BBQ is perfectly fine the way it is. Majority of killers use it for the bp bonus more than tracking. There's plenty of perks and other counters that dont require the survivors to bring anything to the match. Distortion, lockers, be within 38 meters of a hook, run one direction count to 5 and run the other way. But they don't want to get off that gen. It's the same for NOED and Ruin or most of the crap they cry about. Do <insert counter>
It all boils down to this. It has counters, survivor's just don't want to do it.
-
The game is hardly horror now. The only horror aspect are the stealth killers popping up when your working on a gen.

Thanks for finally fixing him devs! (: couldn’t ask for anything more. Hopefully this means a decline in Freddy matches overall.
I hope you enjoy playing against spirit cause that's what always happens when a higher tier killer gets nerfed. For every nerf you ask for one killer your just pushing them to another meta killer. Then you will complain "All I see are spirits!"
-
I actually feel it's an obsession perk done right. It's not the best obsession perk. I feel that goes to STBFL. However there are almost no downsides to being the obsession. At least until the new OoO gets here. If the killer is running STBFL or PWYF they are more likely to leave you alone and go after someone else because they want their stacks. Rancor is the one perk that makes me dread being the obsession. Most of the tension goes away at the EGC. Unless the killer is running NOED, Rancor or magically got BW to go off there is hardly any fear. Once the gates are open it's practically playtime until you need to teabag to escape. Rancor however fixes that, at least for one person.

This would just upset killers more seeing how often they get stomped by a two man with two randoms lmao.
Actually if I got my ass handed to me I wouldn't feel as bad if it turned out to be a 4 man swf. I think the real reason there is no swf indicator is so we have less information. The devs like to say swf only makes up like 2% but if we had a way of finding out whose in a swf. We could do our own tests and be like "Hey. That 2% number you gave us. My last 8 out of 10 matches were 4 mans. 2% has to be wrong because this is mathematically improbable."
-
I think he makes some valid points. I don't feel RE would fit into DBD though because in that game, your able to kill whats chasing you. When Ash was added I felt it was weird he wasn't able to fight the killers considering he's killed tons of deadites in his franchise. If we had Chris, Jill, Leon or Claire it would be strange to have these characters whom some can actually fight without a weapon and be powerless to fight back.
If DBD ever decides to make a RE chapter I think RE7 would be the best fit since it's not "as" shooty and it's villains aren't OP.

I believe it lasts for a total of 90 seconds then permanently deactivates for the rest of the match. the timer activates & pauses between being healthy & injured
Guess we'll have to wait and see how good it is. If you can break line of sight after getting hit you might be able to hide. Might not. I always felt this game needed ways of actually losing the killer rather than prolonging the chase with pallets. I just don't want it to be broken because without a doubt survivors will abuse it until they patch it. Corrupt Intervention is powerful but it only lasts for like 2 mins then your down a perk for the rest of the game.
-
I've been to r1 a few times. I just played 4 matches as killer. I haven't played killer in over a year so I was deranked back to 17. My god those newbs were the worst batch I have ever seen. I couldn't tell if they were even playing they were that bad. They couldn't have been brand spanking new because some of them have teachables from various survivors. No game developer should balance a game around people that casual.
Are you suggesting those are the people we should balance the game around?
-
Question. Will the new lucky break have a 1 time use or will it have a long ass cd?
We all know survivors will combine this with iron will. Having no sound or visual ques sounds broken as #@$% but if it only happens once it "may" not be too bad. Then again DS only happens once and we all know how much that can affect a match.
-
If someone is stupid enough to rescue someone when I am right there. They are just trading places. Just because you have BT doesn't mean you should save right in the killer's face. You only do that if the killer isn't giving you any other option. If people want to hook trade by making bad saves I say let them.
-
I don't think so. If anything the DS change last update was probably the best thing to happen to killer. The OoO change sounds nice. However the nerfs to Freddy and Huntress feel wrong. They could have done something more practical but instead they just removed play styles or tweaked some numbers. I'm slightly worried about the change to lucky break. You know people will combine that with Iron Will. No grunts of pain, no blood, no scratch marks. On an indoor map that sounds pretty bad. It's almost like the devs are apologizing to survivors for finally fixing their most broken perk in the game(DS) by giving them something that would absolutely counter spirit. I also don't like the idea of a totem counter. From a solo stand point it's great but from a killer stand point it's terrible. Hex perks are already very rng. Only 2 are actually high risk high reward. The rest are just high risk.

Thanks! I just got so tired of playing on console. Cost me a lot of money, but I think I'll enjoy it. 🙂
Welcome comrade to the master race. I too was a console gamer for a long time but I converted. Consoles kept breaking, memory ran out, a new console came out. One way or another I was constantly buying crap. My PC has lasted me 5 years and the only thing I've done to it was add more ram and an external SSD. It still runs really well. DBD in particular was not designed for console. People hate to hear this but it was an afterthought. I have not met a console player who switched to PC and said the game was better on console.
