That is one swf group out of 10 000ths of players. Don't generalize my dude.
Most players can apriciate the change of pace a meme build brings
Isn't claiming most players enjoy a change of pace a form of generalizing?

Me fake picking up your teammate to get you to reveal yourself for the flashlight save is not toxic.
Me flashlight saving my teammate after you picked up right next to a wall while not even looking at the wall, is not toxic.
Making a mistake and then having that mistake get punished isn't toxic, you just got outplayed.
Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
If you teabag while doing those things it totally is.

I thought the whole point of Undying was to extend the life of totems?
Why would the perk announce its presence?
-
It's honestly pretty random. I've run with friends and run alone and it can go either way.

I'm guessing it's irrelevant because you can't find a counter-argument but still need to tell everyone that mori's are useless despite that being completely misinformed?
The arguments being made for it are tiny.
Explain to me the relevance of Unbreakable if I down you and want to kill you. The perk only does anything if I walk away.
Decisive Strike means nothing if I haven't had you on a hook for the last 59 seconds.
These are both extremely avoidable situations unless the Killer in question is tunneling hard.
-
"So this topic is about escaping without bringing a key?"
-
That perk should have no cool down for something with such a short range.

In a way every Cheryl outfit is a different character. Depending how Silent Hill meta you want to get.

DS/UB are not ''uber specific examples''. They're a very common perk combination ran in most games, and as a killer, you pretty much deal with them every single game and at worst, can be facing four survivors with it.
We all know how powerful DS/UB is, so let's not act like AN OFFERING that lets you bypass these two perks and immediately eliminate the survivor is bordeline worthless. Let's be realistic and acknowledge how mori's are still powerful, but not a free win anymore.
Those two, no. But I don't care about Decisive Strike and Unbreakable is irrelevant to a Mori.
"But what if someone leaps from the bushes at the last second and gets a full sabotage action on the hook you wanted?!"
... is waaay too specific s condition for literally the most expensive item in the bloodweb.

The vast, vast majority of DCs I witness are immediately after a survivor gets caught and downed. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe they "mostly are network glitches or power outages".
What an amazing coincidence! I nailed that Dwight with Pyramidhead's Judgement and the second his body hit the floor he disconnected!
Technology sure is funny.

Worthless? Mhm, yeah it sure is..
-Ignores DS, saving you a literal minute/an additional chase from being stunned. Game-changing.
-Ignores sabotages or body block efforts
-Ignores UB
-Ignores Soul Guard
-Ignores survivor(s) trying to rescue the downed survivor.
Man, it sure is borderline worthless. An offering able to counter DS when no other perk can isn't even borderline worthless, its strong. But yeah sure, let's bandwagon the hate train and cry about how useless it is now because it doesn't give killers free wins anymore.
-Killer main BTW before u hit me up with that ''omg suvivor maiN hue hue''
Those are some awfully specific situations.
I already work around Decisive Strike.
I've never seen Soul Guard run. Ever.
Unbreakable only matters if you are slugging, in which case comparison to death hooks is moot.
Body blocking is solved with M1.
Sabotage? You mean not looking before hooking? K.
I mean, you can keep coming up with Uber specific examples of you want. I still haven't heard one worth 7000 blood points.

The name is a meme. I'm a pphead main.
If you are really a Pyramidhead main than BT should mean nothing to you.

Only being able to Mori on death hook is borderline worthless.

You are really going out on a limb here.

@Jyn_Mojito Has young children so yeah I'd say she's obligated, particularly by law, to take care of those children.
Children are not "holiday specific". I also have two children. That doesn't change the rest of the year.

If the exit gates are powered and you did not slam the hatch shut that means the team succeeded in doing all 5 of their generators.
They did their job. They completed their objective. And you killed three of them.
So the last guy now should be screwed? Why?

I don't understand why Survivors do this. You are making it so the Killer can pressure and lock down HALF your team on the same hook. That downed Survivor should be getting as far away as possible so they could picked up.

There's always this rabbit trail counter argument talking about "But that means you're doing well!" Do you think we care? Do you think that somehow makes it right?
I think it could do with a cooldown. Weaker perks have gotten cooldowns, especially killer ones. So why not Borrowed?
"Do you think that somehow makes it right?"
YES!

Well yes that is true, but also if you have someone rush into the basement while carrying someone then that's free saves. They did nothing skillful or tactical to get those saves other than run a perk. The same thing for body blocking applies. You can't do anything except hit that survivor who most likely has DS as well. Sure they have to mend, but 12 seconds of downtime while everyone else is doing gens isn't very impactful on it's own. Too many perks in this game reward mindless plays and I think a lot of frustration/unhealthy gameplay comes from that.
I don't know. I think Borrowed Time does what it is intended to do. I've certainly never had to deal with it twice in the same minute. If it really bothers you, you could just whack the rescuer. A common thing I do is hit the savior as they approach, do my wiping animation as they unhook and then hit them again right afterward. The first victim is freed, but wounded and the savior went from healthy to dying state. You are up two wound statuses and if you are quick about it you might still be able to catch the now fleeing survivor. And the cherry on top is 50% of the team is currently neutralized.
-
There is no such thing as "familial" obligation. You didn't sign a contract. When I don't want to deal with family at the holidays, I go into the other room and play a video game.
-
I'm sorry, is your issue that the same survivor with Borrowed Time got two unhooks in a short period of time? And you want to take away his Borrowed Time?
I mean, if you are hooking Survivors SO FAST that you can't keep up with all this unhooking it sounds like you are doing pretty well for yourself.
-
I think the main issue with teachable perks is they represent a carrot to chase after. Without some kind of a goal, bloodpoints quickly become nothing more than running the same character at 50 to keep add ons stockpiled.
While it is a finite carrot, and runs out eventually, it gives players a sense of progression across characters. Getting Meg to 50 seems satisfying until you get bored and wanna try Jake. Now Jake gets to carry on some of the progress you made with Meg, and so on and so forth.
-
So move.
Wow.
That was complicated.
-
I play both sides, and I can say with total confidence the Survivor side is the one filled with more BAD WORD people. "Toxic" Behavior from Killers is most of the time them just doing things Survivors don't like, often because its effective and it works (Ex: Camping, Tunneling, running NOED, etc). Toxic Behavior from Survivors is often completely unnecessary garbage, like teabagging, or waiting at the door for a last-minute taunt, etc.
Yeah, Killers might hit you on the hook and nod/shake their head... but that doesn't draw out the game. Refusing to leave a match because you want some tiny bit of last-second chase points while mocking the Killer is toxic as heck.

Didn't stop them from doing it in the anniversary event now did it?
And how is typing in a code active participation? You can still just outright ignore gameplay. Typing in a code Is just extra hoops to Jump through to get the cosmetics, when they literally had zero problems just giving them to us for Deathslinger and claudette.
But if you are not active in the community or even READING the news updates you wouldn't even know the code exists.
-
"Fiasco" is a very strong word for people that are just whining about a simple costume. New voice work? It's not like anyone other than Ash really talks in this game.
-
I'm afraid there isn't a whole lot you can do. Best I can suggest is try to put your field of vision against the LEAST offensive thing in your field of view (maybe the generator itself?)
It sounds like your reflexes are just going to be at the mercy of the skill check chime that warns you it is coming. Sorry, man.
-
@chieften333 said:
They've shown they're clearly capable of it. Why go through the whole code bullcrap when they could just give us the cosmetics as a login reward?
They did it with the anniversary cosmetics for claudette and deathslinger, why not do it now?
It is to reward people invested in the game. If you are the type of dude that ignores the news updates, doesn't follow the forums or social media, et al then you wouldn't notice. It is to encourage more active participation.

Is it a bug or some weird new mechanic I missed?
You touch a gen and recoil like it had a skill check, but it doesn't pop or anything it just stops you from starting to work on it for like 1.5 seconds. It just shocks you and you soundlessly recoil?
I've had it happen like a dozen times so you must have seen it too right?
Oh, wow. I didn't realize other people were seeing this. I assumed it was a side effect of the Doctor's triggered Madness effect.
-
There's no such thing as "hatch camping". If a Killer is covering the hatch, that means gens are not being watched and can be completed. If all gens are done, it means a door is ready to be opened. If a door is already opened, you can just freaking leave.

Bill can run as fast as Meg too and he's an old man that wheezes, so does Ash. 😆
If you think Ash cannot haul ass you've clearly never see Ash Versus Evil Dead. And Ash doesn't wheeze. He has a bad shoulder and a trick knee, but he doesn't wheeze.
-
This is what happens when Survivors act like jerks to Killers. When you outnumber them 4 to 1, you are already at a huge disadvantage in terms of queue. Maybe you should quit the BM behavior and asking Behavior to stomp on Killers and their ability to play with constant nerfs to how they are run and you won't have such a long queue.
Or you can keep pulling your endgame collapse gate antics and enjoy your hyper-long queue times. It's up to you.
-
Jane.
The idea that her tank ass has the same running speed as Meg, a track athlete, is offensive as hell.

*says "git gud"*
*whines about teabagging and clicking*
The jokes write themselves at this point.
The two statements have nothing to do with each other.
A person's skill level has nothing at all to do with whether or not being a teabagging, flashlight clicking douche canoe makes you a BM'ing jerkwad.

i dont think any are actually dead.
though some have come very very close to death, they never actually died.
Spirit for example was taken in by the entity mere seconds before she would have died, which creates this connection with the spirit world she has where she fades in and out of it all the time.
Oni also never died, he was beaten and left for dead, but then just disappeared.
i think you can say that the body of some killers has died (Spirit or Nurse for example), but their brain never did, otherwise they wouldnt be with us today.
(that was the entire explanation behind us getting Amanda instead of John for the Saw chapter, that the Entity cant abduct dead people)
John isn't a murderer. Amanda was.

OP deserves an upvote for the level of effort put into this alone.

Pips are punishment. I'm a newish player at about 100 hours. In my first four weeks my Killer rank plunged to 13 but then I started having frequent red rank lobbies.
Game became super unfun trying to try out new level one Killers I've never used before as you share a Killer rank across all Killers.
I know depipping on purpose is reportable, so I really look forward to the rank roll back on the 13th.

This is a huuuuge argument as to why we need cross platform progression.

Oh please. Camping takes a player completely out of participating and earning points. Teabagging and flashlight clicking do not.
One is annoying, one completely throws a match for a player.
Obligatory "git gud".
Don't get hooked. Problem solved.

I second Saboteur. Doing the 4 hook daily feels like constantly wincing at waiting on that timer.

LOL.
Survivors: "Camping is scummy behavior."
Also Survivors: "Teabagging and flashlight clicking is part of the game. Deal with it."

I'm not exaggerating. Red rank SWF or even good solos will wreck you if you're not running meta perks. What people look at too often is the result of the match, but it doesn't tell the story of the match. Say a SWF could easily get 3 people out, but they stay for the 1 that's left, and end up giving the killer a 3k. The killer didn't earn those kills necessarily, the survivors just threw the game. That's half the games (or more) that I win. If survivors weren't so greedy for the 4-man escape, killer's kill rates would plummet.
That's the reality because of too many strong tiles spawning, and survivors knowing how to run those tiles. Even a TL can be looped til the entity blocks a window, because the survivor is just that lucky at predicting which way the killer is gonna go. I've had it happen many times, which is why I retreat from TLs sometimes.
Now imagine how strong jungle gyms and god loops are in the hands of those survivors: unwinnable game. Killers depend on weak links, and when there is none like in a full red SWF, there's no winning. Maybe, with cheap tactics like slugging and forcing stage 2, can the killer win, and that's if they fall for those tactics.
I do win a lot, naturally, but I know it was because of a weak and uncoordinated survivor team. I've had an equal amount of games where I got stomped no matter how well I played.
I want to second this person's point about the kills for trying to go for the four man rescue.
I swear the leading cause of Survivor death is arrogant Altruism.
