  • Trapper with the add on to put any Survivor that frees themselves into the dying state can be huge.

  • All Decisive Strike needs is for its window to be reduced down to like 15 seconds but be suspended when in a chase.

  • Anything that requires a hook or a gen kick shouldn't require a cool down except for that same hook or gen.

  • The first DC penalty is only 5 minutes. Exactly how often are you getting so tilted you need to bail?

  • Flip Flip is okay with Power Struggle, but that's about it.

    Buckle Up is pure garbage.

Mettle of Man was nerfed to oblivion so hard that streamers have meme'd it to the point where just getting it to go off is a match goal.

  • You are not "forced" to use any of those perks. Try playing without them.

Yeah but they do it anyways, like you just do all the gens and leave, and the person unlucky enough to be selected just....isn't allowed to play at all. After waiting so long in queue it's quite frustrating.

Honestly, I suspect that if people actually keep doing this with him as much as they have, BHVR might actually cave and make a change. Maybe not, and definitely not anytime soon, but if people keep ONLY doing that it might trigger a response....we'll see I guess.

I feel the same way my man. He is a ton of fun to play and people are passing up on that fun to just stand there all day.

It bothers me because I feel like I am being cheated out of actual fun bubba games. If it was only like a small percent of them that face camped it wouldn't bother me, it just sucks cause MOST of them tend to use them for that purpose.

Because there is no reason not to. Why would I run around getting mocked by flashlights to the eyes and teabagged at pallets when the meat will come to me?

  • What does this even mean?

I interviewed years ago with Gazillion Entertainment and I got to see a little bit behind the curtain.

Obv this is for Marvel Heroes, but they told me they could track every movement a person made from the time they touched the website to purchase, or website exit (they obviously can't track you after their websites). They knew if you clicked the steam link or if you clicked the link to download their patch client, they knew if you opened the client by IP, and they would track even so much as if you downloaded the entire game or stopped the patcher halfway through.

It was an interesting and eye opening experience. My point here being, the marketing and finance people know way, WAY more about your playing habits then you realize. Of course they aren't watching YOU directly. You're just a number to them.

    Anyway, my 2 cents

Unfortunately, that didn't pan out for them.

    RIP my amazing roster.

When I play killer and 2 people DC before the 3rd gen is done I generally speaking just make that a farm game as its usually not worth playing normally at that point.

I say generally speaking because if you were stalking me with a flashlight all game I might not be kind to you.

Two things awaken my inner Tunneling Camper. This, and teabagging. A teabagging flashlighter doesn't get to play. You get camped on first hook.

  • Duel of the Fates implies back and forth. There's no back and forth with a dude hunting you down with a knife while you frantically look for a pallet to annoy him with.

As an avid prestiger, I'd love to see some rewards for it so I thought I'd spitball some ideas.

    1. Prestige Charms - Every single time you prestige, you get a bloody charm featuring a badge with the killer's respective perk icons on them. Prestige 1 would offer the character's level 30 teachable (Example a badge with Overwhelming Presence with Doctor's first prestige) and 2 would be level 35, and so on.
    2. ACTUAL Better Bloodwebs - As it currently stands the chance for better items in the bloodwebs are either minimal or non-existent. Maybe prestige exclusive offerings or add-ons (with a red backdrop entitled 'Prestige' instead of like 'Ultra Rare', etc.) , or higher rarity items.
    3. More BP Gain - This is relatively simple, but maybe a 10% increase in BP every Prestige would be nice.
    4. Cut Bloodweb Prices - Cutting down all prices by 500 Bloodpoints every prestige would really help with the grind and encourage people to Prestige their characters.
    5. Allow Event items to be kept - This is also really simple, but a lot of people like their event items and would greatly appreciate it if they were kept every prestige.
    6. Further Prestige Options - Going past Prestige III would be a really cool and interesting concept. One idea I can think of off the top of my head is going up to 6 where instead of getting bloody cosmetics you get a golden variant of your character (like Deathgarden!), and after that you could go up to 9 where you get golden AND bloody. Just something like that to make Prestiged characters actually kind of terrifying.

All of these were off the top of my head. Love to see any other community ideas.

Honestly, #3 is more than fair considering the gigantic black hole that prestiging is on your blood points. Anyone that has spent the 1.5 million bloodpoints (or whatever the figure is) just to start OVER again would need to play for a decent while just get your investment back, much less make a "profit" off of it.

  • Gates do not open by themselves. They still have to go through the long opening process. I don't know where you are getting the idea that they don't need to do gens, cause they absolutely do. The only time they don't is if you slammed the hatch shut.

Tbh I never really had a problem with campers before for the most part; except recently.

Like 8/10 people picking leatherface just do nothing but face camp with him, to a point it makes me question why this killer even exists in the game. Let me be clear, if they camped us on last gen or end game or something, sure, I mean no problem- but I mean they are going into the game with NO intention of actually playing at all, just to face camp the first person they can.

Makes me sad, they are a fun killer to play as and against, but no one wants to actually put the effort in as him anymore because it's easier to just face sit someone =(

It's because he is the only Killer in the game that has an effective multi-target insta-down.

It is an extremely satisfying feeling to use that chainsaw to let survivors swarm the hook, let them start the unhook animation, and then come in swinging. Leatherface revs up and gets not one, not two, but THREE downs all at once. I can't name many more satisfying things I've done in game. It feels GREAT. The temptation of "Don't you wanna go get that guy ALLLL the way across the map with BBQ & Chili?" pales in comparison.

I know it may feel cheap, but it is extremely rewarding and gratifying. As long as Survivors are still willing to hook swarm Leatherface is going to keep doing it.

  • Shout out to all the Killers that pick you up and drop you at the hatch.

The ones that don't just slam the thing shut to spite you, that is.

  • What you hear when someone says "Old Freddy":

What I hear when someone says "Old Freddy":

    • Robert Englund
  • As a Survivor I never DC. I think it's a scummy move. Finish the match. If it really really is an emergency, go AFK. Let the Killer at least think you are in the game and have to hunt you down. It gives him points for hooking you and the allies points for unhooking you, assuming they can get the Safe Unhook timer.

As a Killer it's a bit different. I have DC'd exactly ONE time. I was having a terrible afternoon of play, had several bad games in a row, and I loaded my fourth game into the #$%$ing Swamp. I hate the Swamp so much. So I just bailed and gave the Survivors the win to take a mental health break.

  • She is pretty easy. She is one of those Killers you can play naked at level 1 with no add-ons and still do pretty well once you get your aim down.

One of her best features is that her Hatchet throw has no wipe animation, so if you are quick you can nail a hatchet wound and then follow it up with a swift M1 Basic Attack and down a Survivor quickly.

  • I second this. I know this may sound hard to believe, but I try to be really positive with post-game chat. There have been many times I wanted to compliment a Killer or Survivor and I couldn't cause they were on Console.

    Poor Console peasants.... :(

  • @Decarcassor said:

Perks are tied to Charlotte, while Victor is more like a remote controlled hatchet and does not count as a basic attack. Perks that directly affect the killer won't work while controlling Victor, but perks that affect survivors or the environment still do.

"Remote controlled hatchet" is the most apt description I've heard for this little snot.

He's like a little drone, and Charlotte can't move cause she's holding the controller.

  • It sounds to me like the issue here is not that you need a mouse and keyboard. The issue here is that you can't save your progress to play it on PC. If you could do that, you could easily play the game comfortably from EITHER platform, depending on your mood or what you were playing.

Mouse and keyboard support for console sounds like a band-aid fix for a larger problem.

  • Normally I tend not to side with Survivors on these debates, but after doing this exact map last night and running around like crazy screaming "Where are all the pallets?!" I'm inclined to agree with you.

I think I ran for a full minute all over the place and could not find a single one.

I get that we don't want the Killers getting planted all the time, but it is weird that on some maps I seem to eat pallets constantly, sometimes three in a single chase, but on that map my Survivor saw nothing but debris and dead ends for as far as the eye could see*.

*How far your eyes can see will vary.

  • Most regrettable moments are probably when I get so good at evading the killer that I screw myself out of the Perfect Escape achievement every time because I don't get enough Boldness points. I still don't have it.

  • The Mori nerf made them useless. Actually, worse than useless. You can only Mori now on death hook. Sooo...

If you have a Mori that takes 10-14 seconds (which is most of them), in most cases you could pick up and hook the survivor faster than that.

This makes an Ebony Mori a literal 7000 blood point waste of time.

Grim pantry unlikely, 4/5 gens are really close together

And more tall grass and crazy confusing jungle gyms than any other map. Close gens are great and all, but I'd feel better if it wasn't so easy for the Survivors to vanish like members of the Foot Clan.

It isn't that I am broke or dont want them. It is value for cost. If I go to Mcdonalds and want a burger but the burger is $12 and I dont buy it it isn't because I am not hungry it is because I can get more or better options for $12 elsewhere. Pricing the market in such a way I feel only ensures a tiny % of people will buy the items. Also if EVERYTHING minus licensed stuff could be obtained with shards I wouldnt have an issue.

You mean duck out of paying real money.

You just said what I already said. You, personally, do not find value in it so you don't purchase them. Others, like myself, do and we shall.

It is your choice. You can engage with the Store, or don't. But they are not overpriced items just because you don't think it is worth it when the market for them is clearly supporting them.

  • *their

    Their is possessive.

    There indicates location.

  • Well, for starters you don't need to buy them. They could cost $100 each and it wouldn't hurt your gameplay a lick.

I bought 35 dollars worth of cells and got the Meg outfit with the sweet abs and the Spirit armor set and still have 2100 cells or so left over in case something pops up in the future I am fully fine with this.

If you don't think it is worth it you are either broke or you don't want them very badly. If you are broke, well.... sorry. If you don't really want them then I don't see the issue.

  • This is like asking why my Hatchet is gone after I throw it.

  • This is absolutely the perk's fault. The timer on it is insanely long, far longer than it deserves to be for an anti-tunneling perk.

It should be nerfed using Scott Jund's suggestion:

Drop the timer considerably, but pause the timer if the victim is in an active chase.

Boom, done. Survivors no longer get a full minute of invincibility but the intended function still works.

Yeah I bought a load of killers during the sale, I don't think the shrine is a good investment if you plan to unlock all the killers and their teachables in the long run! I'd rather spend shards on Killers which cannot be paid for with money, and eventually cosmetic items.

Anyway we're going off topic a bit! Your point was that its unfair on Killers who are level 1 to be put in the same matchmaking, my response to that was to have an unranked playlist.

My concern with an unranked playlist is that it would split the playerbase. People are mad at queue times as it is. I think Behavior is in a bad spot right now, because anything they do that would in any way segregate the players (new game modes, unranked playlist, etc) is going to make wait times even longer. Right now I wait about a full minute for a Killer and 3-5 for Survivor but I hear stories of some people waiting upwards of 20 minutes.

  • How is it NOT legal? A Killer's job is to kill, and camping and tunneling works.

You want a punishment? Losing 3 gens in 2 minutes is punishment enough. Those other three are gonna walk.

You say a game should be fun for everyone and not just one party, but Survivors have no pity evading a Killer nonstop for 5 minutes while he/she kills no one and you teabag at the gate.

Nah I've been playing this game for less than a month, today was the first time I saw a rank reset

You can get someone to rank 15 with like 100k bloodpoints, by that point you will have all their base perks, and a handful of commons (maybe good ones if you are lucky).

If you're buying Killers for their teachables then you will have to level them up to 30-40 anyway! By which point you'll definitely have enough perks on them to give them a good play.

I recently bought Legion with shards (mainly for his Iron Maiden perk for the huntress), I had to level him up to 40 anyway for this perk, probably cost me about 500k bloodpoints yes, but I can get that in about 10 games anyway as I usually run BBQ. I literally was able to play with him and his best add-ons and some good perks (Nurses, Sloppy Butcher) within 10 minutes of unlocking him.

It's a bit of a grind, but it's not nearly as much of a grind as it could be, to be honest.

OOF. No way would I buy a Killer with shards. Thems Shrine dollars right there. If I want a Killer I just pay for their DLC. Most of them were like $3.50 during the sale.

  • Because we really DON'T know if you saw us. And if you did, we are waiting to see what your move is gonna be. If a Killer walks towards me and stops for a moment I am not going to suddenly bail in a direction and hope for the best. I'd rather wait until my uncertainty that he may or may not have seen me is 100%, and then act. The other night I was in the Institute as a David King in the dark jacket and this Trapper Killer came towards one of the generators near the wall, but not against it. I hit behind it. This Trapper kicked my gen, then began going up and down the hall trying to find me. Every time he went around the corner, I would repair for 6 seconds to stop the regression and then go back behind the generator between it and the wall.

This trick worked SIX TIMES before he finally caught me, despite the fact I was clearly in his line of vision with each passing sweep because I held as still as possible.

  • @JPA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1816644#Comment_1816644

Let's be honest, when playing as this killer in any serious manner you are going to be using 4 perks and possibly add-ons to maximize your chances of winning, so why would you even waste time playing it with no perks and getting used to that, just stick some common perks or their 3 teachables on.

I think the solution for this would be to just have an unranked playlist, I think this might actually be more fun, you can use this to run killers/builds you are not used to, and I think the survivors would be less likely to play to win/gen rush etc, if they were also trying out different builds, or playing more casually.

To see if you even LIKE the Killer or not. After several games with Myers, I decided I don't much care for his playstyle. Your suggestion would imply I need to sink a half a million bloodpoints or MORE just to try him out? Sorry, man. Maybe you've been playing for over a year and you have all these leveled people but I'm on week 6 (started around the Halloween sale) and I am not burning a half a million bloodpoints over a test drive.

  • @JPA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1816625#Comment_1816625

You can always just farm BP with another character and level the new killer up to at least 15. I think playing a killer you have no experience with and just one perk is not a great idea, you're going to struggle there even against a low rank team.

Although somehow factoring in the level of your killer (excluding prestige) into matchmaking might be a good idea, although it's kind of an edge case, high rank players will only have these low level killers for one game very rarely, so unsure if this feature is worth implementing.

The problem with "just dump bloodpoints into them" is that it doesn't actually give you any experience with the Killer. I'm still going to be practicing against red ranks. And yes, that's not hyperbole. I rank into a 2 and a pair of 4s the other night my first time trying out Myers. That was not fun at all.

  • I would like 12 hook games if it was easier to find, drop, and hook survivors. But the reality is that good survivors that can juke, evade chases, make safe hook rescues, and do annoying garbage like flashlight blinds make this way, way harder than just pitching a tent.

    Here's my reverse-ask:

Why should I pack up my tent? Other than BBQ & Chili, why shouldn't I break out the smores and watch you rot? The alternative is for me to blindly go find another survivor that I may or may not get, while the first one gets saved?

    Pass.

  • As a (as of last night) Rank 13 Killer I constantly see red ranked Survivors so how can you say the ranking system favors Killers, exactly?

It's also hugely unfair to Killers that if we want to try a new Killer out, we are at Level 1 with no perks or add ons and only one slot, but we are still considered our overall Killer rank for matchmaking. How is THAT fair?

  • The game is just cruel to new players. I've been playing hard for 6 weeks and I've barely dented all the perks I need to collect. And then even when they are teachable, you need to find them on every character.

  • As a Spirit player, this sounds like gameplay suicide. :P

  • Freddy has NO cosmetics.

    Myers has ONE.

    Leatherface has ONE.

In comparison, you have a whole freaking wardrobe.

  • "I can't flashlight you in the face and take away your ability to play after nailing you with Decisive Strike if you put me on a hook and don't let my friends save me so I can do it to you all over again, so clearly you are a bad killer and need to uninstall because you are garbage."

  • Any game mechanic that lets you circumvent the normal win condition to win early is unbalanced. Period.

A Killer has to kill all four Survivors to win. There is no magic door he can click early to win.

That is what a hatch is. It's a magic door.
