  • Why would I do totems when I could just complain about NOED, Ruin, and Undying endlessly on the forums?

  • It needs to be doubled or tripled.

When did I ever say tombstone Myers wasn't oppressive? Having instant down hatchets are almost impossible to not win with. Literally 99% of the community agrees this add on is busted and absolutely oppressive.

When you said "huntress is the most broken [BAD WORD] ever".

I am saying Myers is worse.

  • @GannTM said:

I hate this add on so much. Combine this with the infantry belt and huntress is the most broken ######### ever. Huntress is one of the most balanced killers in the game imo, but this add on makes her so oppressive. Rework this add on BHVR, it's so unhealthy for the game.

    LOL NO.

This is nowhere near as bad as facing Tuft/Tombstone Meyers that enters Mori Mode permanently. It limits her hatchets and only rewards you for having AMAZING aim. If this is a huge problem for you, you must be in Red Ranks. Even then, with the hatchet causing no cooldown on M1, it is already fairly easy for a Huntress to land a toss at point-blank range and follow it up with a quick M1.

  • I would have thrown the Key on the ground, or not picked it up at all.

If I was a Killer and saw you had a Key, I would have tunneled you, too.

  • @wimlin said:

If you killed everyone and didn't score at least 30k points it means you were doing some level of camping that prevented survivors from unhooking and generally you are a trash killer. Score more points rather than just camp and trying to end the game early. I know killers wills there only job is to kill everyone and blah blah blah... its a game meant to be fun for everyone and it isn't much fun when you camp the basement so hard no one can do anything. The game is designed massively so the killer can easily catch people. Yes we can prolong the inevitable, but chases aren't even supposed to lost a minute I believe the devs have said.

Then you admit you are terrible.

He got all of you? By camping?

So every last one of you blundered into his obvious camp?

Sounds like you played stupid games and got stupid prizes.

  • They removed rank reset? What?

  • @TheBigBingus said:

I recently picked up pyramid head, currently prestige 2 level 50, gonna prestige 3 when I have 1million BP. I must say, His design is quite interesting. I find that its quite difficult to torment survivors, and instead I usually just use punishment of the damned to score easy hits, and end chases very fast. To anyone who plays him more, or has possibly mained him since release, how can I affect survivors with torment easier? I find nothing more satisfying than his 3 second mori, and I'd like to get better with him, perhaps secondary main him alongside my main Oni.

Resist the urge to make trails everywhere. Leave 1-3 second trails at choke points, like pallets, under windows, or the only way out of one side of a jungle gym. Remember they disappear when placed within a few meters of hooks or gens, so don't bother.

The second trick is to drop it while you are being looped by a Survivor, like around a vehicle or large rock. Often times they won't think about it, and as you run the circle they will step into the Torment wire.

  • Ruin/Undying exists because genrushing is very hard to counter against skilled Survivors. You can only chase one person at a time.

Fact is if a game is built properly this is never an issue because opportunities to act badly like this don't happen. Yeah bad players will play without sportsmanship but bad devs help bad players to be #########.

That is just making excuses. You cannot blame "opportunity". I have the "opportunity" to steal expensive things at work every day, but I don't because I'm not a scumbag.

  • For a second I thought this post was going to be whining that Killers get points for DCs, but this was actually a well-reasoned post.

Not to argue your point, because there would definitely be new strategies developed around the Node.

However, I think it’s worth mentioning that your scenario is exactly the kind where a SWF would choose to 99% the gates rather than start the clock. They want time to mount a basement rescue. This gives the killer time to try to protect the hook and possibly waste enough time to go reset their gate progress, even if they open one.

Finally, in your scenario the killer has pretty well lost the match anyway. At the very least he can shut the gates on them and force a quicker end to the match - rather than go watch the dance party.

Anyway, it’s simply an idea right now. Activation times and other details are certainly up for discussion!

I don't consider that scenario a loss. I've certainly salvaged that sort of situation before. But putting a "open both doors" switch in the game just feels like yet another second chance (or third... or fourth...) mechanic towards Survivors they neither need nor deserve.

We already have second chance perks, The Hatch, and Keys. This is OVERKILL.

  • I would like an update that has people stop using the word "whinging".

  • So I can be hooking someone in the basement and be unaware there's a pedestal camper, the last ten pops, and 15 seconds later BOTH gates open, which could be currently camper by other Survivors?!

It's a no from me, dawg.

    SWF would eat that alive.

  • Here we see the Claudette coming out of hiding to ferociously defend her precious perk.

I seriously can't believe that, isn't dead dawg smaller?

I think the Saloon map feels smaller because most games don't use that big backlot of desert too much and sticks to buildings.

  • @th3 said:

It’s unfair as it serves no purpose. Killers get an insane amount of points in each category that often times are maxed out. Survivor categories are difficult to max out especially survival points. I hate playing killer but survivor bp gain is so low.

It is fair and it does serve a purpose.

The game needs incentives for people to play Killer as the Survivor load is four times higher. It is fair because the Killer has to constantly engage everything.

  • "Survivors do not have to do bones, but can still complain about NOED" is legit the parody line from Samination's video. You are speaking as a living meme.

  • @Blueberry said:

People don't hate NOED because they think it doesn't have counter play. Everyone knows it has lots of counter play.

The reason it's disliked is because it rewards the killer with kills he didn't earn. He gets them because the survivors were lazy, not because he earned them.

People aren't saying NOED is unbalanced. It's just unhealthy design.

It is no different than any other effect that creates Exposed. Except it only works at the end of the game.

  • Rank 7 Meg with bright red hair and a bright white jacket that loathes Self-Care and hides better than most of the Blendettes.

Ok, but what if I'm the one on the hook? "Just struggle", yea, but I will still depip and only get very few bloodpoints. So how is that a strategy for me whatsoever? I feel like people who give that kind of advice aren't the ones sitting on the hook with a killer looking at them. It's easy to say "just do gens" or "waste the killers time" when you can actually play the game.

I shouldn't depip because I killer decided to stare at me on the hook and make me die on my first. The killer is still getting more BP for facecamping than I am for hanging on there for whatever how long.

You de-pip because you got caught. Hide better.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1845851#Comment_1845851

No it's not. Points are points and it's safe and helps get away. It's like a killer running NOED and having survivors complain (DO BONES it's a secondary objective!) It's not the worst thing survivors can do and isn't toxic. Plus that's a good 1 or 2 seconds taken away that could've been used to save a survivor or destroy hag traps. And I'd rather be flashlight stunned at a pallet than being stunned when I'm picking up a survivor. Unless this whole comment is sarcastic then r/woosh me.

It is absolutely toxic. I cannot think of a single behavior a Survivor can do that's more annoying. "But it's points" is not an argument. Everything in the game is points. By that logic I could skip going after Survivors by just running around the map kicking in breakable doors because "it's points".

NOED is a perk, not a behavior. You cannot compare a perk to a behavior. I have no gripes with any perks except the egregiously long grace period on Decisive Strike.

Every other flashlight move I can counterplay. I have no counterplay to a pallet stun flashlight. Open field clicky? I can look away. Survivor pickup? Look left and right first to make sure the pickup is safe, then look up on the way to the hook.

Pallet stuns are scummy, and I cannot imagine what you think is worse than an unavoidable stun AFTER an existing stun that is often accompanied by a teabag for extra sauce.

  • What the others said.

He works when the players are dumb. You are banking on them making errors, not good plays on your end. A smart Survivor can evade the Trails, know when to avoid the shockwave, and not mess around at pallets or standoffs.

Very rarely if ever is what I'm pointing at with how much people here claim that it's such a big issue.

Struggling is there indicating effort exertion. In your terms "annoying". All it is is an easy, constant and continuous focus test. A situation is going on around you and a person can only juggle between various tasks while they can't truly consciously multitask. So anything going on around you that gets you out of that focus can potentially end you on stage 2. If the goal were to hold a button you could have dropped into a coma mid "struggle" and you wouldn't change the outcome of the situation.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1845989#Comment_1845989

Congratulations! You triggered a skill check which you didn't hit of course, because that's not holding M1 now, is it. The killer saw the indicator and made their way to you, grabbed you off the gen (Wouldn't want to stop holding that one button now, would you?) and hooked you. Your 3 escape attempts all failed quickly as you passed on to stage two. Wouldn't want to hurt yourself now or irreversibly damage the control device you're using along with the fact that your gloriously unbeatable one button strategy can't fail, you do not bother yourself with struggling as you die and wonder about the concept of how judging an interconnected system based on one secluded component is stupid.

  • @Mastermind said:

How about a feature where you hold a button for a certain length of time and the game wins itself for you?

Congratulations! You just described holding down M1 to complete a generator.

  • I just run We're Gonna Live Forever and play normally.

  • It's one of the douchest things a Survivor can do.

It's a free blind, completely uncountered unless you are running Lightborn. I have no other defense. It's lemon juice on the wound of already taking the pallet stun.

Pull this stunt on me and I WILL tunnel you to Oblivion and take you out out of the game as soon as possible. I don't care how many gens it costs me.

  • It's called Decisive Strike and Survivors do it all day long.

  • If anything Killers should be unlocked.

  • @Phasmamain said:

these sarcastic posts mocking survivors are honestly not funny. many survivors, me included, would like a fair and fun challenge, not a complete domination with ruin undying every game and OP addons. also it's true that some killers are just plain uncounterable: spirit, deathslinger, nurse, and people still defend them.

No, these posts are funny as hell.

Survivors want a "fun and challenging" game, but then go full pikachu face when the Killers get sick of being flashlighted after pallet drops and Teabagged at the gates and start pulling out the stops.

    That crap goes both ways.

Cut me some slack? Ok champ. I will cut you some slack because clearly you are one of these people who is so bad at this game you have to abuse mechanics to win. Here is a thought... Learn to play. Plenty of killers arent so noobish that they have to do this. They max points and still manage to win with full clears hooking players and moving along. But hey, if that is the only way you can win then I guess you will just have to keep those training wheels on. lol

The dude with a single-digit post count that was literally unaware there are three perks to get you off the ground just told someone else to learn to play. Mkay.

  • I actually agree. My record against him is 2-12. Just terrible luck against him. His shots are so fast. Scott Jund did the math. You cannot dodge his shot. No, seriously. You can't. If you do the math of the speed of the shot across said distance, the reaction time of the human brain, and the time it takes for your inputs to affect your character, the shot is literally undodgeable. You can't dodge his shot, and if the attack didn't hit you it was because HE MISSED.

Now, Freddy is awful in that I think he's badly designed. I don't think the Deathslinger is inherently bad design, I just hate facing him.

  • These sorts of stories are why I follow Spook N Jukes on Youtube.

Clocks should not be player specific.

Did you just leap into someone's server and just screaming the N-word while shouting about how much you like diddling little boys?

  • @TangledNoodles said:

It's interesting cause what I've noticed is that a lot of the posts are about killers crying that they got a 4 man swf sweat squad, or that survivors needs nerfs, survivors items need nerfs, survivor perks need nerfs.

Meanwhile, vacuum pallets were removed, BNP (toolboxes in general) were nerfed into the ground, Key is getting a rework (nerfing into the ground) soon, insta heal? gone. (Not saying they were balanced but they got dealt with nonetheless).

But all I see on here is killers complaining about stuff and wanting these CRAZY changes that would make survivor gameplay literally unbearable lol.

A survivor can't say anything on here cause all the killer mains will riot under your post. feel free to go crazy here too, I like reading the comments.

And yet the post-game chat salt is almost always Survivor. Like these psychos will literally leave your PlayStation messages with audio of death threats.

When was the last time you saw a video on Youtube that was just a compilation of Killer salt in end game chat? How many of them are there? Compared to the ocean of Survivor tears?

  • Exits, no. Because there are two.

Hooks? You will get mixed reactions. The main reason not to do it is it ruins bloodpoints for both sides.

Unless you are in the endgame collapse. Then camp that guy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1841201#Comment_1841201

Because aside from Jigsaw, Amanda was my favorite character in the "Saw" franchise. Also, I've only been playing her for a couple weeks, in fact, I've only been playing as a killer main for a couple weeks. As I keep playing her, I'll become more skilled with her, which means I'll be able to switch things up Also, It's not like I'm hooking the person and then face camping. I'm doing a tunnel if I've hooked the survivor, and some random solo has decided to unhook the player before the heartbeat has even faded.

I didn't say that I tunnel every match. But in certain situations, it's beneficial. The wounded survivor is usually far easier to bring down than a healthy one. Or if I'm in a match where three gens are fired and this is my first hook, yeah, I'm going to do what I can to try and get myself at least one kill.

    His name is John.

"It was the police and the press who coined the nickname Jigsaw. I never once encouraged or claimed that." - John Kramer

  • I get like a 50% spawn rate to the junkyard now. It's nuts. I haven't seen Haddonfield in four days.

  • An item is "worth" whatever someone will pay for it. If you think it is not worth X dollars, then don't buy it. I bought 35 dollars worth of Cells and got specific items for my Meg, the samurai armor for my Spirit, a cheap Oni skin, and still have like 1400 cells left over. I'm fine with this. 35 dollars is nothing. Taking my family out to dinner costs more than that.

  • Supposedly you get better items in the bloodweb, but I am hearing conflicting reports as to how noticeable it is.

My main issue with prestiging is you get a specific item with blood on it. I wish it was a bloody flair that could go over what you have now. I run my Meg with the red hair top and the white jacket chest. I would prestige if I could splatter those with blood, but sadly that is not how it works.

No, making the game f2p would flood the servers with throwaway hack accounts. What i also don´t get is the overall grind. Imagine a new player who sees the amount of DLCs and locked content. The sheer time it would take to get all the required perks.

My friends and I have been playing between 4 and 10 weeks. Trust us, we know.

They were created in a time where Exhaustion went down while running. This is not the case anymore, making Exhaustion Add Ons way stronger than before. You should not be able to negate entire Perks for just 3-5k BPs.

You absolutely should. Everything should have a hard counter.
