If there's only two boxes, what would prevent me from running to the other box and crouching in front of it when I hear someone fail to remove their trap at the first box? It's not a terrible idea, but it could be easily abused.
This is a situation that can already occur with Amanda's Letter.

Good survivor perks? Yamaoka Estate, Crotus Prenn, Temple of Purgation, Ormond. I'd count those as survivor perks, to be honest.
Crotus Prenn? Only if RNG is godly in the survivors' favor.

He's adorkable, though. :)

I won't pay anything over $10, since WoW charged $15/mo. No game offers comparable content for a recurring price.

Average survivor main that cant outplay a mid-low tier killer. These are the kind of people that ask for stupid nerfs like infinte tombstone myers, day one freddy. And yet they dont complain for prayer beads spirit or iridescent heads huntress (even tho at least she has counterplay)
lol'd. I can't pick the map any time my lobby rolls a Myers. That's the real hard counter to him.
-
She wouldn't benefit from Dark Devotion. That perk is probably best left to Myers, Nurse, or Spirit.
-
Buy a mouse with a functioning right click. That's all you need.

This doesn't sound like it has any relation to framerate, or even standard latency issues; it sounds like you have an unstable connection. I can do fine playing on as high as 220 ms.
Whether you haven't optimized your network for frequent, but smaller packets (such as using Leatrix's Latency Fixer to disable Nagle's Algorithm), or not, I couldn't say.
When referring to "lag" (a catchall term on its own), latency specifically refers to 'delay' in relation to your inputs. Say, you run towards a window and try to vault it, but it takes an extra half-second to actually perform the action after your input, that would be latency lag.
Frame lag would be your game getting choppy, or slowing down because you're unable to render all of the frames as animations and detail are being portrayed on your screen. EG: Your computer isn't strong enough to push 60 FPS, so it's doing its best on your current settings and only pushing 45 FPS.
-
Just addons, specifically? Most of the killers, imo. It's all about the killers with the least impacting addons, but effective baseline powers.

Not really, tru3 even says in the match it was insanely good luck the way it was laid out, even he knows that those spawns don't happen that often.
So, he was deliberately playing like garbage?
-
God, the amount of times Tru3 could get a hit and just... chooses not to. I can't tell if he deliberately screws himself in these recordings, or is just not all that good of a player sometimes.

Underrated: Pig - She's incredibly nuanced for map control, but she has pseudo tracking in the same way as Plague (whom is more obvious, but has the same concept). While tragiclly hurt by RNG and a bad power, she reliably slows the game down with traps, whether they're active or not.
Overrated: Legion - He's annoying due to tunneling, but is a tragically weak killer to play his design properly (hitting multiple survivors with Deep Wound). He's a victim of his own design, and I don't understand why people quit against him.
-
My Hag build:
Monitor & Abuse, A Nurse's Calling, Make Your Choice, and Hex: Ruin
General strategy: Honeycombing a particular sector of the map, and then hunting in another. Due to the very small terror radius with M&A (16 meters), you can easily find people healing nearby. You get a lot of easy/quick hits due to the smaller terror radius, and MYC adds a LOT of pressure on unhooks. NEVER trap on the hook, always trap a short distance away towards the likely escape routes, as survivors will universally crouch away from the hook (feel free to trap hooks at low ranks; survivors are dumb and pop traps all the time there). Some Hags play for camera pulling, but I prefer body blocking, since teleporting is nearly instant.
@anarchy753 said:
Rusty Shackles sounds like an amazing add on but it is worthless at the moment. It has been bugged for MONTHS and the devs haven't even acknowledged it.
It's meant to remove all indication that your trap went off, but instead they still hear an instantly maxed heartbeat as though the phantasm is still there, so still run away and know when you can teleport.
It does almost NOTHING.
I've never encountered this both using, and facing Rusty Shackles. It's my favorite addon to use on her.

The Pig: Now with 100% more Oink.

I, also, enjoy killing survivors.

Dead by daylight movie confirmed
Maybe they'll finally show Meg missing DS in the CG opening.
-
We got a cinematic to accompany our new ghostly overlord. That's pretty cool, imo.
-
The intro video to DbD always made me wish there was a series of shorts or something, even if they aren't accurate to the game. (Obviously, seeing a pallet dunk a killer might not be as entertaining and realistic as Meg crawling through corn fields.)
-
Shitposting intensifies
-
Honestly, the extra pressure speeds up the endgame stand off. If you were tracking in any way, EGC is a death sentence for the last survivor if the hatch is closed.

@Blueberry said:
Overall killer perks in general are quite weak. An extra 1 or 2 perks wouldn't make much of a difference. None of the killer perks really fix what makes so many killers weak.
lolwut. I could run so much stuff for my killers with 2 extra perk slots. It'd be nuts putting in tracking or chasing perks in their builds.
-
Larger maps would be nicer if time could be scaled accordingly, but you run into issues with killer mobility designs. The primary problem is Hillbilly, since there's no penalty or cooldown to his compared to Nurse and Spirit.
-
I'm actually playing more lately. I bought Dark Devotion, and I've been splitting time between that, this, and Heroes of the Storm. I WAS on vacation until about an hour ago, and it got cancelled. :(
At least work should be letting me off for the entirety of Dragon Con this year.
-
I have both, and the Plague is much more interesting. You can play her for Vile Purge, or for Corrupt Purge, or even both in the same match.
Baseline, Plague and Legion are both weak, and they direly need perks to function.
In reality, I'd like to see Plague's ability to disease objects and such be more impacting on its own. I mean, it's okay as it is, since it functions as a pseudo tracking mechanism if you use it sparingly. I really want a build where I just launch a vomit comet at everything I can.
-
The Spirit with 3 movement speed addons. Might as well give her a Nurse skin. lmao

A teaser before Friday would be nice...
But we just got an entire killer leak for him. lol
-
I don't think I've played against a single MoM, yet, but I can see how brutal that would be to face for most killers. It's basically a DS that wastes less time, since you aren't stunned immediately.
-
Only if I can get an "Entity is slightly miffed".
-
I'd like some more visual obstructions. Your best bet is trying to juke Nurse with obstructions. I usually just wait around a corner at a pallet when she's moving around to stun for shits and giggles.
-
I blame the obsession system. It's not good, and just promotes tunneling and camping the obsession to death in Dying Light's case.
-
Currently, she's unplayable without perks. Her addons are o.k., though her Ultra Rares are literally worthless, and the best ones to pick are the Vile Purge effectiveness stacking.
@se05239 said:
Would Plague lose much if the Corrupted Purge (damaging puke) was removed in favor of more potent infections overall? Like, more negative effects and gimmicks.
She becomes kind of like a better designed Doctor in this situation.
-
Literally has no effect on camping. The killers I see camp universally run this perk.

Huntress Lullaby increases failed skill check regression before any tokens, so it is not powerless before first hook.
Basically, it's worth less than Ruin and lasts as long, including all risk.
-
My only complaint is Balanced Landing on this map.
A secondary complaint isn't specific to this map, but that chases end randomly, and Bloodlust vanishes while following a survivor clearly in your sight, even while gaining on them.

You say that your friends are worse at skill checks, jukes, reading the killer, minding their locations for escapes, etc.
If they are playing solo, it certainly sounds like they are the type of players that would be eliminated pretty quickly (though that would also depend on how bad the killer is.)
Do you think they deserve to have a different outcome just because they are playing SWF? If you do, do you think that is fair to the killer?
I do agree with you that it would need a stronger, revised ranking (and matchmaking) system though for it to work.
This isn't a game that can linearly translate player skill, especially given the variance between killers, their effectiveness, and the perk and addon setups people choose. Hell, people can be doing dailies, or slugging a 4K, or farming, or not trying too hard, or testing an off build.
You can't have a "fair" system against SWF like this because such a concept would be based on the idea that players being on voice chat and together can be linearly scaled and related to a bonus to the killer player.
I've been accused of being a SWF while solo, and I've been smashed like random newbies in a 4 man SWF. Player skill is not equal for everyone.
-
Hag is bae.
-
The problem with this idea is that not every SWF is SEAL Team Six. Hell, I frequently play with friends, but none of them are as good as me. Sure, we can coordinate to some degree, but they're not better players. They're worse at skill checks, jukes, reading the killer, minding their locations for escapes, etc. We're maybe better than some green-ranked randoms, but that's it. A random set of purple ranks with 300+ hours each would easily dumpster in effectiveness.
Something like this wouldn't work without a strong ranking system behind it in some way. SWFs just won't ever measure as equally as killer mains think it will, especially given that it doesn't necessarily mean a 4-man team.
-
Hillbilly. Lowest skill floor killer by a ridiculous margin.
However, godly Trappers and Hags are brutal to face. They make you paranoid as hell, since their random traps can turn games around.
-
I've always argued that generators should have random repair times, possibly based on risk of location, or pure RNG. Alternatively, Ruin being baseline and reworked to be more effective against solo survivors, rather than co-op repairs.
-
Easy-ish map because you can trigger chases randomly in the corn fields to put you on to survivors you otherwise didn't see. lol
-
"Battle Passes" are basically a subscription service.
-
..
-
Her design is built upon using Corrupt Purge for damage, but I think she should be more focused around spreading disease/infection, and that impacting survivors.
-
Hillbilly is the best killer. Nurse is only better in the most fringe of scenarios.
Spirit is like Hillbilly 0.5, since he's more effective at almost everything they do. Outside of Yakuyoke Amulet (pretty OP), and stacking Dirty Uwabiki (considerable phase movement speed) with Mother-Daughter Ring (ultra rare, tremendous phase movement speed), she's pretty skill-based. I would say she's the melee version of Huntress.
Spirit's biggest downfall is that she is bound by an inconsistent/buggy audio system, whereas Huntress works on visual, which will never been incorrectly represented when you're the killer/host of the match. Imo, Huntress is much more reliable, even if you're a mediocre player.
-
The FOV is useless, but the smaller terror radius is insane.
Also, it can glitch the terror radius to not play at all until you're hitting someone. :\
-
China sucks. lol
-
That'd be cool, especially if the devs animated it in such a way that the blood was visibly wiping away, but left a dramatic smear.
-
You might lose details that could help if your resolution doesn't match the level of detail when it's scaled up.
I play on a 1440p, 144hz curved monitor now, and a 1080p, 60 hz HDMI monitor previously. Since I upgraded my PC for the new resolution, I wasn't forced to lose any details, but training yourself to recognize survivors is probably the biggest thing, and also knowing how they think and would try to juke.
-
Ambush is weak, and RBTs weak now. :o
I think it's time to just switch my normal MS main to barfy waifu Plague, or Trapper.
