With all of the nerfs to survivors, I never have time to cleanse totems.
I finally had a match where NOED singlehandedly turned a 0K into a 4K. :\
-
You should at least be rewarded survival points, since you're not allowed to struggle.
-
Spawned on the gas station variant of Azarov's in the open area between the tires and the side towards the basement. I got control of my character and started running, but Hillbilly was already sawing towards me and cleaved me down. This was, maybe, 7 seconds into the match.
Pretty much highlights why I just suicide against him 90% of the time.
-
You shouldn't use all of your traps in obvious locations. Some, sure, but wild traps are still very useful.
-
Hillbilly has no cooldown on his one-shot, which is baseline, all the while being the highest mobility in the game.
The Spirit has to rely on inconsistent sound cues, lower movement speed, and a long cooldown on her ability baseline. (She is also ridiculously noisy for a killer that relies on audio.)
Hillbilly is the only killer (with Nurse being a close second) that can use Barbeque & Chili to land on top of a survivor with his power by the time it ends. He is also the only killer that can down a survivor in less than 10 seconds of a match beginning.
Hands down, he's far stronger than Spirit, especially with perks.
-
Urban Evasion, WGLF
Often times I run those with Prove Thyself and another escape perk like Sprint Burst, Q&Q, Iron Will, or pair Q&Q with Dance With Me.
-
I find that she's good once her plague gets rolling, but until then, you have to manually break everyone. She's Hex: Third Seal in killer form like that.
My biggest complaint about her is that puking on anything BUT generators when you're ahead is a waste of time. It's for milking some extra 25 points, but without the addon for effectiveness on object infection (NOT extra duration), this is pointless and only slows you down in any situation.
-
I recently played on one of the Coldwind Farms maps and the shadows didn't load, so it was stupidly easy to spot survivors in the corn husks.
-
Due to her wonky momentum, I preferred the Ruin + Spirit Fury/Enduring/Bamboozle setup. Plague can be very powerful Breaking everyone for one-hits, but she's also incredibly strong with Corrupted Purge. Alternatively, I'm playing with an anti-gen progress build with Pop Goes The Weasel, Ruin, Overcharge, and Sloppy Butcher (or any other gen tracking perk like Surveillance, Tinkerer, or Dark Devotion for lolz).
Your goal is to:
- Break everyone
- Get Corrupt Purge
- Both! (Ideal situation, go around projectile vomiting for easy downs)
I like Vile Purge cooldown + charge addons if not going for Corrupted Purge, but she needs to put pressure for either of these scenarios to occur. If you can't apply pressure, you may never get everyone Broken/Corrupt Purge rolling. Also, beware of getting pallet stunned with Corrupt Purge--it ends it entirely, though this is a rare scenario.
-
Happy birthday!
-
You'll experience gen rushing even in greens.
Killer needs time to kill, but for survivors their best chances of living are... not wasting time on chests and totems, so...?
-
I don't really like Adrenaline, but when I'm solo we're all dying well before Exit Gates get powered, so I see next to no value in it.

Not completely useless, but Terror Radius Perks on Wraith is just eww.
Distressing Myers. ;D

MacMillan for juking. I really enjoy trees and the darkness, so Shelter Woods is one of my favorites. Grim Pantry is also pretty great, thanks to the reeds, darker aesthetic, and again more general visual obstructions.
I like Lery's and kiiiinda The Game, but you cannot juke anyone once you're injured due to the blood trail, and The Game mega suffers from lack of variance, so your paths are always too predictable.
-
I didn't get it until recently, and it's pretty broken. It's a tracking perk on steroids.
Everyone is close? Find the nearest vantage and you'll find someone in seconds. See people far? The hook time is maximized, and I can go straight to stopping another generator or chasing someone.
Plus the huge BP bonus for, basically, just equipping it.

Waking up means that his snares and pallets will not affect you.
You can see the snares and avoid them, but there's nothing you can do to avoid dream pallets.
-
Not really a fan of Pop Goes the Weasel on its own, since it requires you to begin your momentum with it, whereas Overcharge and Ruin are not restricted by a condition. Really, it seems like a perk relegated to the excessively high mobility killers, since they don't need the extra time at the start to get their pressure going. (This is more a game design flaw than a problem with the perk.)
I run Spirit Fury + Enduring on Pig and Plague, and would on Trapper and Legion if I had it. It's too damn strong to just ignore every pallet, force pallets to go down sooner, and not suffer any real punishment for lunging through all of them. On top of this, you eventually get a hit because of the perks working together if they risk or are forced to stun you with a pallet. It's exploitable with Hillbilly, since he doesn't actually get stunned if he saws into a pallet as it's dropped on him.
With Spirit Fury + Enduring, I just run Bamboozle as my third to shut down loops. They say you should just throw pallets early, but you don't know if a killer as Spirit Fury off of the bat, and your early pallet throws just guarantee SF is up sooner, so someone else gets screwed; the only counter play to that perk combo punishes survivors more, since throwing pallets early is terrible for them.
-

That loop sucks, certainly. I'm not approving its existence.
But the Huntress there should've either:
Broken chase and go for someone else, or
I don't know, maybe, throw a hatchet??
It's a huge problem when every survivor in the map knows this sort of thing and bolts there whenever they're being chased.
I've had Bloodlust issues exclusively with Huntress before, even when other 110% killers don't get them.
-
Ruin should be a game mechanic that periodically cripples generators. It's too important to be destructible.
-
I, also, salt my deep fried survivors.
-
It's feasible, but expect a lot of trial and error for several reason: Some options don't work, some options are dependent on other options, and some options are not meant to be changed and can adversely affect our framerate negatively, or alter you graphics with no impact on framerate.
I used to write custom configs for Vindictus when I played it, which was a custom Source Engine game. Really, it was mostly just time consuming starting the game, checking everything, and then closing it to tweak some more. Once you iron out the variables and their effects it becomes easier to adjust an entire config.
Just make a backup of your current if it functions, though a game will typically generate a new one from scratch if it cannot detect one (in case of deletion). Also, you will want to set it to Read Only, as some games will forcefully overwrite your changes; this typically doesn't happen by default and only occurs when you change something in-game, and it reverts to an umbrella preset relating to the in-game adjustable parameters.

It was actually bookshelves way back. I imagine pallets are a little more generic. It'd be weird to see bookshelves out in the woods or in the ironworks, but a pallet can go just about anywhere. I can't say for sure though, this was before I was around. This would be a great question to ask in the AMA this Thursday.
Now we need a library map, for sure. Maybe one day they'll do map-specific equivalents for pallets, such as a derelict statuettes, or a piece of piping.
-
"Just drop the pallet early!"
You won't always have a situation in which you can drop it early. I've used Spirit Fury in every game I've run it, and as much as four times in a single match. You're eliminating a pallet AND getting a hit off of it without as much wasting time on either of those things separately.
-
I feel like Nurse is heavily a skill to skill game. Technically, the Nurse is stronger, but it ain't easy. To be honest, I prefer facing Nurse over noskillBilly.
For Spirit, I feel like the only full counter you can use is an entire perk load out, otherwise you're really at a disadvantage if there isn't a lot of visual obstructions to juke off of.

I was really excited about this perk when it was first announced and swiftly disappointed when the details were released.
I did this perk study when it was released and while it's better than it was, it's not as good as it could be.
It has a lot of potential, but needs one or two things to make it useful in such a way to create a really fun and interesting experience for both sides.
The conclusion and suggestions start at 13:23
I became interested when they buffed it by removing the cooldown. It was hilarious on Trapper, since nearby survivors would be confused as hell how I was coming around a corner in front of them while they were looking off behind themselves.
-
I main both, but I end up playing more survivor due a few friends, but also long killer queues.
-
Enduring + Spirit Fury.
Brutal Strength doesn't make Spirit Fury's triggering more powerful, so you should run Bamboozle for a third perk to further shut down and punish looping. It's what I now run on my Pig, and often times my Trapper and Plague.
-
I face Nurse about 1 in 20 games, and if someone didn't rage quit at the start, we would probably have at least 2 people survive (unless the Nurse is camping on a hill with a blink charged).
Honestly, not concerned with her being changed in any way.

They don’t stun survivors. Players are just still being startled by them.
By having to go through the animation of using them; you are stunned from them. There's no tell.
-
I was thinking this perk would be S-Tier for Nurse, since she can hit the obsession and turn around and gank other people completely by surprise. It would be, like, a better Tinker for her. I miiiiiight start practicing Nurse again for this, but I'm rank 20 rusty trash with her nowadays.

@Eninya Is that how it's supposed to be?
Cause that doesn't sound like it.
I don't think so. It's very confusing. I'm keeping an eye out for this in the future.
-
All but Jane. Not into chunky people.
-
Hillbilly. His saw is practically autoaim with the cleave/auto trigger at point blank. I have a much easier time against Nurse, since she doesn't get free instant downs like this.
Spirit - I don't know if it's bugged, but her Phasing sound doesn't play when you're too close to her, so mind games at pallets are 100% in her favor against me. Also, every time I remove Iron Will is when I face one and get tunneled to death.
Trapper is rough, but largely because my teammates don't understand that popping 3 gens on one side of the map means all of his traps are on the other. The same thing goes for Myers, and the lack of diligence paid to keeping an eye out for him stalking.
-
Boring. They cut the match way too short and UNIVERSALLY promote tunneling.
-
As a Pig player, get #rekt if I grab you. It means I can save a trap for someone else and keep the momentum of my pressure without burning traps.
Also, with vault grabs, it's virtually impossible for survivors to predict this and make flashlight saves.

If it explotes in a shower of blood when you throw it... it was a dream pallet. Real pallets don't usually do that.
And Doctor pallets don't stun you when you go to use them. Freddy's are literally better, since they basically stun you when you use them, whereas Doc's just troll you into running into unsafe areas.
-
I'd like some kind of tell for dream pallets when you're very close to them. They're literally better than Doctor's hallucination pallets in every conceivable way.
-
I wouldn't say main, but I end up playing it a lot more nowadays due to the abysmally long killer queues. Previously, it was about 50-50, since I don't think you can be a great survivor/killer without playing the other side effectively.

To not be affected by snares & fake pallets.
While I never encountered snares awake, I have definitely gotten hit by fake pallets repeatedly while awake.

Funny.
I knew I had it from a video, but I couldn't remember which as I barely watch DbD videos to begin with.
Then you mention him and I'm like "Heeeyyy..."
I was searching his channel for the video containing the unintended path, but couldn't find it, so maybe I'm wrong.

The real puzzle for me is: once a survivor has used a key, is it now removed from the game? No one seems to have bothered checking, because it seems that if each RBT has a specific key, you know that if someone has got one off their head at one box, the key for another RBT can not be in that box.
I've seen people get their trap off at the same box, but in different intervals. Even when running the 5-6 box setup, it's possible that one survivor goes to a box and gets it off on the first try, but another has to search all of them, and get it off at the same box. The key to YOUR trap is determined once the trap is on, and isn't dependent on any other survivors' trap.

Yes, but Mad Grid and STBFL are just insane.
I don't use either of those on her, since I don't play for heavy Ambushing outside of a farming build.
Nowadays, I mostly run Ruin, Bamboozle, Spirit Fury, and Enduring. My other main build is Ruin, Make Your Choice, A Nurse's Calling, and NOED/Sloppy Butcher/Franklin's/Stridor.
-
No more Franklin's Demise? :/
-
You cannot be made the Obsession.
The terror radius becomes directional.
Reduced bleeding visibility/frequency.
You can see all generator auras.
Opening chests, exit gates, and destroying totems is silent.
-
Urban Evasion, and arguably also Iron Will if injured for trap baiting.
Try to pop as many traps as you can when she's carrying someone. (Though beware, this can get you killed if she has no pressure on her to get a hook here.)
If she traps a pallet/window, you can try jumping back over a pallet you dropped, or continue running. In either case, she has the advantage here if the trap is properly placed.
Take advantage of her slower speed; it's not a big difference, but it makes certain plays and mind games more feasible. Her lower profile isn't an impediment to her hunting, though.
Her small terror radius makes her dangerous, and Hags will frequently run M&A, so healing is also quite risky thanks to the synergy with A Nurse's Calling. Be vigilant, and prepared to flee if she's on approach or your suddenly hear the terror radius hit.
Due to her lack of speed, Lightweight, Quick & Quiet, and Dance With Me can all be effective perks for juking off of mind games.

How so? It is info swf already have.
Only 4 man SWF. I duo with a friend frequently and we never know how many totems are killed beyond us.

The biggest gripe I have is "the mindgames" at pallets. I put this in quotes because the Spirit player isnt losing anything by just standing there watching. Its up to the survivor to simply GUESS at which point the killer stopped standing still. Thats not a mind game, thats a guessing game.
Beyond that, lemme ask what you think @NuclearBurrito. If a Wraith could simply run up to a survivor while cloaked, thereby having the extra speed with the cloak, and hit them without ringing the bell first... would this be fair? Thats pretty much what happens with Spirit, except theres no shimmer.
My issue with this is that an audio cue for her phasing will never play regardless. You have to pray you can see grass moving.

No. The devs have said multiple times that the Hillbilly is their balance target.
If this is the case, the Nurse should be reverted back to her godlier version, since Hillbilly is broken as hell from a balance standpoint.
