  • Please keep your comments towards one another civil and respectful. I understand the concerns, and Mandy has already clarified a lot of it here on this thread.

And in regards to some concerns with the future automated report system: we have no information on it yet, and will update the community on it in the future. The rules will not be changing, and if you play within the rules, you will be fine; no bans are issued without proof. To review the game rules, you can view them here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • As others mentioned; Victor needs to be latched onto a survivor (ie attacked in the healthy state), to prevent them leaving through the gate. They can, however, still escape through the hatch with Victor still attached to them.

  • I enjoy getting nice messages as Killer (and survivor), and I also enjoy giving them as well! A lot of times I'll have killers that don't have a lot of practice on the character they are playing, I always like to give words of encouragement, and sometimes point out where they did an epic job (like random traps that got me, playing the loops super well, clever use of powers, etc).

At the end of the day, Killers are players, players are human, and a little bit of kindness in a day, can go a very long way.

  • Please keep your comments civil and respectful when discussing the topic. As Mandy already said, more information will be available in regards to it at a later time.

  • Thread closed per OP's request...also those are so so adorable.

What killer do you think is boring to face? Personally I believe Spirit is one of the worst offenders in my book since from the survivor's perspective, she just teleports to you. Nurse on the other hand, you can see teleport and try to juke. Spirit you just don't know, all the interaction is see from her perspective.

Honestly, I don't have a killer I feel is boring to face. Probably because when I'm playing survivor, I'm most often having fun with friends or community members in a group, and we're enjoying the game, win or lose (usually the latter, I'm a fairly decent survivor, but I can run right back into the killer like a heckin champion a lot of times rofl). I am not often a fan of a Hag or Doctor with certain add-ons or perks, but I don't mind them too badly, and at the end of the match they'll get a gg from me.

  • Its as Jasix said, it only knows that you left the game early. If you feel it could be an unknown issue with your PC, console, or internet, we have a section to post Tech issues: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues

  • Yes, the MMR was tested fairly recently for a 24-hour period. Currently there is no further info on it right now, but the official socials and forum will let everyone know when there is more information to be shared.

  • Closing up this thread; please remember to be civil and respectful with your comments, this includes discussing content creators and streamers.

But to clarify, ACMs check all reports thoroughly, especially in regards to gameplay, to verify if anything did happen. For more information about the Report System, you can go here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • While appreciation posts are...well, appreciated, this is definitely something that should be brought to attention over in bug reports. Please check the bug report section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs) to see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise open a new report following the guidelines.

  • Please keep this thread civil and respectful.

I understand there are killers many of us do not like to go against, but I am asking that you be respectful of people's opinions on the subject...and also be civil and respectful in regards to the people that do enjoy and choose to play characters you may not like to face when in the Fog.

  • I really and truly love Hex: Devour Hope, its probably one of my top 10 Killer Perks. For a while I ran it on everyone on both PC and (primarily on) console. I doubled it up with Ruin a bunch, so either they broke Ruin and didn't notice Devour until the Exposed status became active, or they broke Devour and (sometimes) kept looking for ruin (or broke em both pretty quick, that happened too lol), which kept a few away from gens for a bit. Also the scary perk art. 10/10

  • Please keep your comments civil and respectful towards one another and their posts; you can disagree about the subject without going after one another.

And a small reminder, the endorsement of Unsportsmanlike Behavior (DCing) is not permitted on the forums.

  • Demogorgon and Legion's Menu music were definitely my favorites...but I also loved Clown as it remind me of being back at all my favorite carnival-themed Halloween haunts of years past.

  • We do not discuss bans here on the forum, I'm afraid. In regards to the penalty, the system only sees that you left the game, and applies the penalty.

And as others mentioned, a stable internet connection is required for any online multiplayer game (its something I've gone through personally with my own ISP, I do understand the frustration with that).

  • Posting a reminder in here; please keep your responses civil and respectful. There is no need to insult people weighing in on this thread.

  • I play both Killer and Survivor. While I love Killer the most, I think I wind up playing Survivor the most with friends or communities I am in.

Definitely like to be a good sport and have a fun trial regardless of which side I am playing. Especially as killer if I feel one or two survivors might be new to the game, I'll ease it back and let them practice skill checks. And sometimes I've had survivor matches where I could tell Killers were learning powers, I'd stay for a bit and let em practice at the end of the match.

I have maxed out many characters and prestiged a few, but I primarily focus on getting teachables and most-wanted perks and add-ons, primarily.

I can sometimes get upset when playing (true for a lot of online multiplayer games I enjoy), but not too badly; often getting up for a few minutes and getting some air, or playing with friends, will alleviate it.

And I have purchased many cosmetics, as well as the Rift Passes... Krampus skin for Trapper is my #1, I love Krampus so heckin much lol Favorite Survivor cosmetic is Jeff's Holiday Sweater... I need it in real life, and I don't care its too hot here to wear it lol

  • All these years later, I still have trouble with that as well! My best advice is also watching the ground for scratch marks (the fresher, the better if they are running around making crop circles trying to confuse me lol), or blood pools when injured, is my go-to strategy to locate survivors in the corn...although depending on their cosmetic (bright colors and flashy design ones especially) I may be able to see them through the stalks.

  • Closing up the thread as the OP has become repeatedly argumentitive. Please remember to keep comments respectful in the future, please. Also a quick reminder that the encouragement or endorsement of Unsportsmanlike Behavior (like DCing) is not allowed on the forums.

  • As this thread has become rather argumentative, I am going to close this up. I ask everyone to remember to remain civil and respectful of one another; this includes their point of view and their playstyles in the game. As already mentioned, tunneling, slugging, and camping are mechanics in the game.

  • Closing up this thread as the OP has been argumentative with those responding to them. As a reminder, please be civil and respectful with those sharing their thoughts and perspectives.

  • Let's refrain from insults and keep this conversation civil, please.

  • I want to remind everyone, please be civil and respectful with one another on the forums; there is no need to belittle people for their opinions!

  • As you were asked earlier to remain civil in this thread ealier, I am going to close this up as that request has gone unheeded. Please remember to be civil and respectful with one another and their viewpoints, whether you agree with them or not.

  • There's already been some already good advice on trap placement, I have a few tips to add! First would be do not be afraid to take a little time to set up in the beginning, even if you lose a gen or two. Oftentimes they pay off later in the game. And I would agree the corners of loops or walls are often really good spots (also spots they need to disarm in order to pass will buy you a few seconds to catch them, or even a hit), spots that survivors may not entirely check when they know they are up against Trapper (I like areas that, as survivor, I would blindly run through without thinking anything was amiss, usually grassy where a trap could hide in or the ground may not give away immediately its there).

  • My number one is Trapper, but I do enjoy Hag a lot! I know she's not everyone's cup of tea (and that is absolutely ok!), but I find her pretty fun (she has some really awesome cosmetics too). And in regards to the post, I have had matches where teams were either popping traps I couldn't teleport to in time, or disarming them with flashlights while gens were flying. But I was putting them down when not actively chasing to keep em on the map and keeping focused.

  • Very good advice, especially so for killers like Tapper or Hag that may need to re-set traps during the match. Even all these years later, I can get a little anxious if I feel gens are going by too quick, but a deep breath and re-focusing and I go back to looking for survivors and applying map pressure.

  • I love getting cosmetics, and a lot of them are for Killers I'm not very good at whatsoever (but I'm stylish and I'll take it lol), so from my personal experience, it doesn't affect how I perceive their abilities when I see them in a match.

  • Please let's calm down and keep the discussion civil and respectful! We miss things sometimes, it happens, and its ok. Let's stay on the discussion of Small Game.

  • Hey there! I just brought your request to the attention of the Coordinators; its the weekend so it might take a minute, but they'll get back to you on it when they are able!

  • When you want to report a bug, please check the bug report section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs)

Please check to see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise open a new report following the guidelines.

Also, a specific compliment will almost always stand out. E.g., I spectated the last survivor in a round take a Rainbow map from a dead survivor and use it to hatch escape. I told them after that it was a very smart move.

I do something similar as well; along with a GGWP <3 I'll often point out something like "Omg you looped me like crazy it was incredible! I was taking mental notes lol" or "100% Spoopiest Ghostface, holy heck I jumped when you came around that corner!", or "My foot found that random trap in the corn like we were destined to be rofl". I'll also tell the lobby I hope they have a fantastic day/evening/weekend!

  • People are allowed to come onto the forum and talk about something that happened, something they do or don't like about the game, etc. The idea of the forum is everyone can come together to discuss what they want to talk about. All that we ask is that you are civil and respectful to one another and their point of views, and are mindful of the other forum rules while you do so.

Oh, i just got it a few minutes ago, thanks for answering ^^

Np! I believe the issue is resolved now, y'all have fun in the Fog!

  • There is a connection error going on right now, hang tight, the situation is known and being looked into. Refresh Steam and see if that may help

  • As threads like this often lead to bashing streamers and content creators, I am going to go ahead and close it up.

  • Closing up this thread. I am going to remind everyone slugging, tunneling, and camping are not reportable or bannable, and to keep your discussions civil, please! You don't have to agree with each other, just be respectful and not insult one another for their opinions!

  • The word toxic definitely gets thrown around a lot, but there's nothing toxic about using a game mechanic like perks, add-ons or moris. And since the reworks, I think they are in a better spot than ever. Heck, depending on the killer I look forward to the mori and the animations!

  • It's safe to say The Lion King I was inconsolable when I first saw it in the theater as a kid (everyone knows which scene)... very close second is the end to Death Note's last live action movie, L: Save the World... I had the heckin waterworks.

  • Reporting does help and is acted upon if found to be a violation of game rules, its not for nothing!

Along with the in-game report (required), you can submit a ticket with additional evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new The ACM team will look into it as they do with the reports that come in. Additional evidence like video is optional, but can be immensely helpful.

For more information on game rules and reporting, you can go here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • Slugging yes, but I would not call that tunneling. I have done that because I 100% didn't mean to hit the survivor off hook (was aiming for the rescuer, or the survivor immediately rounded a blind corner and I swung out of instinct), and I wanted the teammates to come and get them... and one or two times the team left them slugged, which I was really upset about, so I let em back up and looked for someone else.

  • Those are not handled here on the forum, in-game reports are read and reviewed by the Support Team, and they are read and reviewed.

Along with the required in-game report, you can send a ticket (as well as video evidence) to the Support Team here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000942011

And as a reminder that, as PanicSquid said, Naming and Shaming is against Forum Rules.

  • This thread has been cleaned up and handled, and I will remind everyone to stay on topic in a civil and respectful manner, and avoid attacking others for their opinions, please.

  • This is definitely reportable. If you think you are playing with someone who's cheating or hacking, please go ahead report them in game (required step) and send additional evidence to support at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new so they can review it.

For more information on Game Rules and Reporting, you can go here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • As there were some comments about it, I just wanted to come in and remind everyone that encouraging Unsportsmanlike Behavior (DCs) is not allowed on the forums. I want you guys to continue the discussion, just remember to keep this (and the other forum rules) in mind when commenting!

  • A reminder, please keep your posts respectful to others. A civil disdussion can be had without going after one another for their differing opinions.

  • I think my two would definitely be Yun-Jin and Adam. Yui is very very close Honorable Mention but I kinda like a few recolored default outfits for her a little more...and default Dwight...as good as goodness gets, and I loves em a bunch too lol

  • Tunneling is not reportable, so the incident that you described is not bannable.

If you want to check over the full list of game rules and what is and is not ok, its all listed here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • Hey there YehBoiGoku,

  • Bill teams are pretty fun. My friends and I did something similar a while back; we were a 3-person SWF and we all decided to be Bill because reasons (I think I needed a Bill daily, and one friend decided to be Bill too and the 3rd decided he didn't want to be left out). When we loaded up we were with a random Kate...and after 15 seconds she switched to Bill too, so we were a rag-tag team of Bills against the odds! The matched played normally (I think I was sacrificed iirc, everyone else escaped), and the Killer enjoyed it, said "OMG so many Bills! gg"

And I have to say I am also curious about the outcome of this particular match as well
