Hand holding on survivor… how many slow downs you running on your killer? your getting ratio'd to oblivion making me think it is a rage bait post
I usaly run 1 a direct slowdown like surge or pop or erupt with 2 info perks and an other perk that is swapped for lightborn when I see 2 or more flash lights sense the blinds give me a migraine
My sirvivor build is overcome self pressure baby sitter and we'll make it.

I think Harley Quinn and Natasha Romanoff would be the ideal survivor from each franchise. Alongside Venom and the Joker
If they did ghost(hes my favorite character in fiction so im very biast)i think a good paring for a survivor is tony stark tony is a very emotional character its one of the reasons hes in my top 10 and I feel like the entity letting him make tool bit not fully would make tony every emotional and that would feed the entire alot.

i got a couple for ya.
DBD has the worst map design in pvp gaming history. Coming from a guy who has played games like Rainbow six siege, and cod mw2019 DBD takes the cake for having the worst maps ever in gaming. Picadilly from mw2019 and reworked Hereford Base from R6 are BETTER and those maps are absolute trash.
Artist should have not gotten the diablo 4 lilith skin. She does not have the playerbase to warrant that good of a skin. Sorry artist mains.
Skull Merchant 2.0 was not bad to face and endless complaigning got her overnerfed. There i said it. Hang me from the gallows likes its the French Revolution if that comment makes you upset.
I dont like Jason having a big emphasis on a ranged attack, as a big fan of the friday films i wish he was more of a unga bunga teleporting goblin mode killer. Yes i know he sometimes chucked stuff at people but about 95% of his kills are up close.
Hillbilly should be the best killer in the game and should overthrow Blight and Nurse as top killer.
I agree with all except the Diablo skin for artist one. She deserves good skins like everyone else and there will probably be more then just that skins for the collaboration. On skins tho Billy needs some better skins and bad

COMPLETE counters should not exist. Its one thing to counter something, but Lightborn for example completely nullifying flashlights and crackers should not be a thing, or Self Preservation completely nullifying BBQ and other hook related aura reading.
Okay I only disagree with you on lightborn because we do not have a dark mode blind. I get migraines from the flashlight blinds so run it to not be in pain but if they made a dark mode it wouldn't hurt me or people with similar problems.

The sad thing is, killers complain about everything in this event but have the most broken mechanic for the full match time.
Survivor can literally trap the killer and keep them hostage for 60 minutes and your calling a stamina bar that has 2 easy counters with a perk combo and just not using the full stamina bar by using the litteral 35+ pallets they give you plus the busted good and insta heal really a slow down is the strongest thing. Ya I dont think so sounds like you hsut dont understand the stamina bar and dont like it sense you cant just key pallet to pallet you have to manage somthing.

Survivors for sure need less hand holding a second chance perks but definitely not nerfed into the ground.

I've got a few, generated over a good few years of playing at this point.
- Funnily enough one of mine is that Corrupt SHOULDN'T be basekit, because it doesn't affect all killers equally and would lock some of them out of certain playstyles arbitrarily.
- Pig isn't weak anymore. She used to be, she used to be the bottom of the barrel alongside Trapper, but nowadays she's actually just pretty okay. Not top tier, but not weak anymore- five straight years of almost exclusively buffing her did actually work.
- Most perks on both sides are good, even if they could still use some love to make them more interesting or potent. Genuinely bad perks are kinda rare in this game, it's more common for a perk to be pretty decent but outclassed by other tools or just an unpopular effect.
- Similarly, new perk releases aren't as bad as people act like. Survivors have had at least one genuinely worthwhile perk per release on average, and while it's a bit spottier for killers there's still some good heat in there.
- Windows of Opportunity isn't strong, it's just nice to have. Strength doesn't correlate one to one with pickrate, too, in general.
- Finally, this game actually is good and fun to play.
I will agree windows is not broken bit I will say its and for the game with the hold w to yellow and pallet density being such a problem for low tier killers.

Vigil - useless if you're not running an exhaustion perk, which I rarely do.
Shoulder the Burden - Why are people still calling this perk good after content creators got it nerfed into the ground? It's basically a "please put me on death hook" perk.
How old are Plot Twist and Off the Record? I thought we were talking about newer perks being bad. And last is Hyperfocus which I would consider niche and it requires a full gen build just to be good.
Shoulder plus vigil with a exhaust perk and another perk of your choice like daju vu its an insaly strong build. Shoulder can literally remove all the pressure a killer has over a match.

Both sides need accounting for. The main issue is people knowing a killer is fun from one side, so being resistant to change that might make it a bit less fun for one, but overall more fun for both. People also presume any change that considers the fun for one side is some kind of automatic proof that the 'other' side is getting coddled and preferential treatment.
Ghoul is the posterboy for this. Ghoul isn't OP, so people calling for change get a lot of resistance from the camp that claim because he is relatively balanced, he shouldn't ever be touched again.
I get that there's a degree of mistrust in the community over how an unfun killer should be handled. I know enough about the Skull Merchant saga to sympathise, but we can't just not allow changes to a high-tier-but-balanced killer just because it has gone badly before. A killer being balanced purely by strength is not automatically in a good place.
The problem still stands whos fun are you bashing this off or is it just in general because again the survivors woukd have to much input being 4 times the number of killers. You need to balance around both fun and data because somthing can be fun and not good or not fun and bad.

Road Life or whatever it's called, Last stand or generally all the walking dead perks bar Conviction.
Invocations
I think Tae Young is the first who isn't, also why is the elusive fine on that for everyone since it's "free for just healing" essentially.
Like it's the same on both sides atm, so many perks have been released undertuned and there has been no news on actually making them worth peoples time, this problem isn't exclusive to survivor.
Hopefully we get fun buffs to all these cool concepts, but Cross examination should be monitored by the team, if its not a problem currently there is no reason to change itBut it is problematic currently you get to escape chases for free meaning insane time gained from it loops that are 50/50 are now just fully survivor sided sense they can get a massive heas start due to the elusive. Being in 3rd person nerfs undetectable while first person buffs elusive. It also works though floord and walls so there is also that

Fun is an important consideration when balancing the game.
People forget we're balancing a game, not a spreadsheet.
The only problem i have with this hot take is whos fun do you use to balance for. Sense if you pick the majority then killers fun no longer matter sense they make up so few of the players only needing 20% of players to be killers.
-
shes my 3rd main after pig and dredge. i just wish she was 4.6 base and set up faster
-
I really would love ghost as a killer hes my favorite character in all of fiction and i think he could work super well and would have a fun kit
Name - Ghost
Speed - 115
Terror Radius - 24 meters
Height - average
Basic attack - a simple claw swipe
Power - phase change
This power would allow Ghost to rotate through 3 different takes being intangible, invisible, and base
Ghost can freely swap between these modes but it would be on a charge system that if we runs out he goes back to base mode, the ability would have 60 charges recharging at 1 charge a second.
Invisible mode- in invisible mode his terror radius would increase to 30 meters this mode would burn 1 charge a second ghost would be invisible and able to attack in this mode with a reduced range.
Intangible mode - in intangible mode ghosts movement speed would drop to 110 and his terror radius would drop to 20 while in this mode ghost can walk through any obstacle and cant be stunned by pallets while going through obstacles his movement would farther drop to 100 and if he's in an obstacle when coming out of this mode he would be stunned for 1.5 seconds this would burn 2 charges a second. ghost could still attack in this mode injuring but not down survivors unless in deep wounds.
First Iridescent Addons - first addon would remove his ability to go invisible but allow his intangible mode to down survivors but upping the charge consumption rate from 2 to 3 per second
Second Iridescent Addon - Ghost gain elusive while invisible but removes his ability to attack while in that mode.
Perk 1 - hex: stalker
while in chase you see the aura of the obsesion and gain 7% haste when the obsession is doing a conspicuous action
Perk 2 - Man with no name
While you are in chase your aura cant be seen by any survivor whos not in chase with you
Perk 3 - Scourge hook: Ghost chip
Whenever you kick a gen the next time you hook a survivor on a scourge hook that gen because intangible for 30 second players can freely walk through this gen it regresses at 80% and can not be kicked this perk then goes on a 30 second cooldown.

Pretty much everyone from Orela to Shane. Or do you honestly see a lot of people running with Apocalyptic Ingenuity, Road Life, Change of Plan, and Rapid Response? Only one I can think of was Five Moves Ahead, but one out of however many isn't good.
i have seen a good amount of them the main problem is they arnt to weak its that the meta perks 1 have been in the game for years and 2 they need thought to use unlike the meta perks that are just equip and forget and thats not a bash on survivors its just that the meta perks and powerful and easy to use.
-
its just miserable and the unbreakable pallets are the dumbest part you can litterly hold the killer hostage for bascly an hour if you wanted by just tapping gens doing the tables right.
-
my most wanted licenced survivor is jack sparrow he just has so much emotion the entity could feed off
-
i play both sides very evenly and killer is harder to win on and how i determin that is i never watch videos or listen to music while playing killer but i always on survivor because i dont need to focus as much and i have 3 teamates to pick up my slack while on killer i am alone and have to do everything my self.

Killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, gets to High MMR, finally loses, considers this proof that killer can't win.
do you think the 20 to 30k hour player winning alot means that the game is killer sided when all it shows is how bad the match making is putting bad survivors against insanly good killers with probably multiple hunreds of hours on the game over all 4 of the survivors combined.
-
i would say a win for survivor is escaping and a win for killer is 3 or more kills sense the goal of the devs is a 60% kill rate and surivors are tracked on escape rate by the devs meaning its the win con for them.

With Artist I would make it so that survivors could not fast enter lockers when swarmed so it would make it slower to get rid of the crows and would be way harder to use lockers in chase to do it.
that and make severed hands base kit.

Killer have responsibility on his mistakes only.
Survivors shares it. They share everything.
And because this game doesn’t teach coordination and not really providing tools for it, no wonder why survivors can’t win more until utterly broken concepts will be in their hands
ya killer are responsible for there mistakes but also dont have others to help them like survivors do. there is a reason killer anxiety is a very common thing but survivors dont have the same epidemic of it.

@SoGo said:
There is a reason killer has 60% kill rate and why most low MMR matches are utter stomps by the killer.
because of survivors wanting to go next and also 60% is a neutral winrate sense this is an asim and not a even match its 4 people vs 1 there are more outcomes from killer then survivor. 0 and 1 kill is a lose 2 is a tie 3 and 4 is a win meaning 3 of the 5 out comes for killer is a bad outcome while one 2 are a good outcome. then we have survivors who has 2 states killed or escaped meaning one is good one is bad
-
agreed i think all the killers should be good but the problem is effort to reward like singularity and artist should get more value from there abilies sense they are harder to use un like trapper or blight whos powers are super easy to use

Yes the event is survivor sided and needs to be adjusted but please never bring back poison again, it's literally just a mechanic to give free hits. its not tho you jsut need to not deplete your stamina if you drop a pallet and stand there for a bit you can keep it from slowing you down you just have to no w key around the map

Hopefully this question makes sense, playing killer is a very stress and pressure heavy role for many including me.
While generally speaking i am not competitive and dont typically care if i win or lose in games, while this is also true when i play survivor, killer is just different.
It is incredibly stressful to me. I think a good reason is that I am by myself and the only support i have is myself and i have 4 people who all view me as the enemy and are working together to stop me and i have tools at my disposal and so do they.
I feel constant pressure on me and if i feel i am starting to fall behind in the game or just facing people better than me even though it is a game I as a person feel a sense of failure and that brings me stress. or insecurities about being insulted or people thinking i suck(even if randos online that ill never knows opinion shouldnt matter it FEELS like it should to me)
This causes alot of games to feel unfun. Not in the sense that i am genuinly having a bad time playing the game except for the matches i do get fully frustrated but that in the enjoyment i am having is coming from the satisfaction of overcoming a challenge and winning but not having a real sensation of "fun" when playing.
Im unsure if that makes sense so to clarify a bit, lets say i am in a match and im against a group of loop gods soim just not ending chases quick and when i do end them there is a flash save and im justy achieving nothing all game. then i get a down in end game and i manage to secure a 2 or 3k at the end.
I did not have FUN doing that but it was satisfying and it did feel nice because i overcame a difficult situation but its not the same as just having a fun time to me.
i decided to start trying huntress a couple days ago. i had used her a few times 5 plus years ago but only a few times and i was bad at hatchets. I wanted to practice with her and i also love love love the baba yaga skin so honestly thats really why i started using huntress now.
I decided that my only goal was to practice throwing hatchets. thats it. not to win the game or kill anyone and no using the m1 at all. just land hatchets. and of course all i did was whiff at first but because im potato handed but when the gens were popping and a chase went forever it was fine because idc if the gens get done, i just need to manage to hit a hatchet after missing the last 15.
Doing this and pulling back from the mindset of winning and focusing on a different aspect of the game led me personally to having genuine fun. an experience i dont really recall having for ages in dbd. I like playing dbd but these were games where i was laughing to myself and having fun experiences with the players especially when they realised i just wanted to practice a loop with them, or throwing and a bunch of survivors have played along and we all had a good time. Meanwhile i am getting better and better at throwing hatchets and if i keep doing this i think ill eventually start being pretty dangerous with her. currently im able to win my matches if i really want to (partly because i think ive tanked my mmr into a playerbase of…..well at least they could figure out how to boot the game) but converting that into actually winning currently isnt very important to me with huntress.
That being said, im unsure how to generally have that mindset with other killers, especially ones that i play alot of and am good with. Like Twins, i am good with twins but ive never been able to generate the same kind of mindset as i have with huntress as i went into huntress expecting to lose because i had no skill with her yet.
So I guess my question is, I want to capture the fun ive found with huntress and experience that with other killers and overall care less about winning.
If there is any advice, what advice would you have on how to foster a better mindset that doesnt get trapped in the competetive quagmire that many of us players are stuck in?
I only get tilted when I lose to perks and not skill like if a survivot can loop me well and I lose because they are just a better player i dont feel bad but when the game itself says you lose because of strong perks or perk combos I tilt hard because Im losing to bs and not skill. Like ds plottwist is so frustrating I have had it happen so many time and I dont even tunnel ds is just way to strong and plot twistmakes it so I have to pick up for them to stay injured because the pallet they dropped under will let them not get hit. Also survivot rubbing in they won by bming at gate or just hiding to waste my time sorry I only have an hour to play game a day if that and the extra 2 hits stacks up making me play less games sense I have to get off for classes and taking care of my mom dogs and cat.

@QuantumEcho said:
What the title says, what are some killers in the game that are so weak right now that they deserve some sort of buff or rework?
Dredge they are c tier on there good maps due to so many bad maps and pallet density. They need buffed and I wish they would make it so lockers unlocked when nightfall happend but lockers took longer to break out of in nightfall sense the survivors would have to relocate lockers near them if they wanted to slow down dredge and just add lockers ass a killer item that can spawn more in if your on dredge huntress or trickster sense dead zones hurt them so bad
-
also the point of the perk is you follow the killer while they are in chase with someone else and when the down the survivor your are there ready to save them sense the killer cant see your scratch marks or hear you.
-
My few arguments for the perk are as follows:
-Killers have how many undetectable perks and add ons, especially ones that give them the status effect for free just from existing in the match (like Insidious, Tinkerer or Unforeseen)? Survivors get one that essentially make them undetectable and its "too strong."
-It actually requires some level of skill to use properly in chase, it's not a free escape. It's not like old distortion, it does not promote hiding.well ya elusive is a strong effect to can make a survivor basicly mak the time a killer spent finding them worthless you just delete that chase time while undetectable is used to help secure downs or start a chase making it not erase all the progress a survivor has made on something they are completely different sense survivors are the attackers and killers are the defenders. yes the perk is to strong when you can just make a killer have to guess 1 of 4 ways you could have gone with lithe because they have nothing to track and if they pick wrong all that chase time was for not. it would be like if killers got a perk that lett them spend 60 seconds in basement and they got a permant effect like how invocations work on survivors it would be broken sense they dont have the same restriction survivors have from it.

Yeah, but that's not quite the same. The balancing consultants giving advice isnt equal to otz telling them how to stop hackers entering their lobbies. That has nothing to do with being a balancing consultant. It could have been any reasonable live stream participant. They would have ignored them nonetheless. They actually did. The celebrity asked them about Otz's advice and also got ignored.
We don't know how balancing consultants actually get treated. I don't know if they are even publicly allowed to speak about it.
Hens has spoken oit and said hes gotten to do play pre ptb patchs as a balance consultant but they rarely listen to what he has to say.

Let's sort your ideas.
Making shift wrap basekit is a nice idea. I think half of the trapper bag addon value would be sufficient, three traps at a time seem more than enough.
I like the idea of allowing him to collect his farthest trap from a locker. That allows him to use his power effectively, even if he decides to defend an area close to his spawn point.
I think your idea regarding the rework of his trap placement mechanic is not thought through. His trap placement is extremely delicate and sometimes it's hard work to set a trap exactly where it effectively blocks a window for fast and slow vaults for example. Increasing the hitbox of traps is also a dangerous game, because it could allow for locking down areas between close tiles that are not intended and healthy.
All in all i like your first two ideas and would like to add a huge QOL improvement. Remove the ink addons and allow trapper to decide a color intensity for his traps at the start of the trial. That way he can have very light traps on eyrie and very dark traps on gideon.
I didnt say to increase the trap size and dropping the trap where you want would be a good skill you would still see where the trap will drop when you hold it out like normal you just want stop place it and set it you would just drop it then you can leave while it sets itself
Also have the maps have set colors for the trap instead of picking

Also I'm inclined to agree with @radiantHero23 I think people take this game too seriously rnOld Cod games mostly insane players would go on long wining streaks and just stomp game after game having a hard game everh 30ish games

We joke, but we are quick to dismiss the fact that something he might be doing with his build could show something wrong with the game. I'm not saying there IS something wrong but no other game has ever had this happen that's competitive.
Like the build or a specific playstyle, or maybe a specific trapper interaction… What I don't understand is why the balance team doesn't study these win streaks (on both sides), to see what's wrong. The problem is it has happend in other game but the things those games also have is no sbmm and thats the problem the match making is insane when I first started playing i went up against p100 killers and survivors which I know doesnt mean they are good but the likely hood that you have that much time in the game and still are as bad as a new player is insanly low.

How is Plot Twist anti-tunnel?

coss examination is broken like littereraly bugged and not working as intended its ment to be a flow perk not a get elusive in chase the strongest effect survivors can get whe nyour hit or jut loop the killer once in the small loop and it also works through floors meaning you can get it from the floor above and below the killer

Then there's is no argument to be had because we have no actual data. Your stat or my stats aren't a big enough size to use as a data point. The best we would have is the top 5 the devs release and that data clearly doesn't show the full picture still, where is Nurse, onryo is a top 5 killer could have swore she was c-d tier. Then there 40 or so other killers we have no clue on there kill rates.

Wait... Are you playing killer or survivor in those matches? Cause if your playing killer, then you definitely don't lose once a survivor dc's.
Regardless, impressive tracking. I wouldn't be that passionate about the game. At least not anymore.
Still, this doesn't put a dent in my argument. You experienced a bunch of quitters. Sad but happens. Your games are not my games though. I tend to have people play it out against my piggy and I often come out on top.
Lower tier killers are very much still viable in dbd. Not against your 1 in a 100 death squad, but let's be honest, a majority of the roster gets smoked in that scenario.
Mostly survivor out of the 100 games 63 were on survivors abd 37 were on killer. Was trying out new build for survivor at the time.

(-) Remove the red mist effect from him entirely. It's unnecessary strong handholding that rewards you for turning your brain off. Generators already show you when they are getting worked on and make a different sound. The same with totems
(-) No more free haste for like 1 Minute after every Jumpscare that makes him a normal 4.6m/s Killer. When he holds a spear he is 4.4m/s and without a spear he is 4.6m/s
(-) The Anti Camp Slow motion Jumpscare penalty stays up to 5-10 seconds after the unhook happened to make tunneling less braindead
(+) Charging the Spear for a few seconds results into a longer pushback and faster throwing speed
(+) Jumpscaring a Survivor gives him 15% Haste for 3 seconds and Exposes the Survivor for 3 Seconds
I havent had a problem playing against him hes just a less stealthy spring trap just use alot of the same counter play. The problem is survivors dont want to do anything when hes in omnipresent evil get him to start chase and work on gens survivors can do gens insanly fast and are the momentum setters for the game you are the white side of the chess board while killer is the black side.

General inventory is a good thing, as it would free up a lot of server space, and I'm all for it
But the reason they can't do it could be because they need to process petabytes of data
Another, more dangerous thing is SAVE DATA, which means that if something goes wrong, players could lose progress
Older players might remember the days when DBD had a local save file that would reset every time you agreed to the terms of service
We can ask Mandy to check with the development team to see if this is safe to do so as not to break everything
If this is possible, it would be an amazing QoL
They could do it. It woudl be easier then cross progression.
