But how would you be able to detect it?
How do you tell the difference between a survivor hiding to antagonize the killer, and one who is stealthing around the map waiting for the best opportunity to make it to the gates?
That's one of the main problems with the scenario - there's the hypothetical about whether it would be good, but the more difficult practical question of how to implement it for just this scenario. Which is why we usually get the suggestion of abandon becoming available after the gates are open - except at that point the game is still frequently very competitive.
The reason i want it to work just gates open is because survivors can abandon after being "slugged" to many times and if it was just if one survivor has not left or dead then duos could just hide together to keep it from popping up. and the killer can just open gate if they need too like a swf is just hiding or a cheater is well cheating the killer can just leave and not have to deal with it and go to there next game.

One thing killers have that survivors largely do not is a stronger sense of identity through gameplay.
If we use killers as examples, Pig has stealth and Reverse Bear Traps, Knight has his three guards, and Nemesis has his zombies and whip. If you strip those away, they become much more generic.
That is exactly why I think survivors could benefit from having character-exclusive items or abilities tied to who they are.
For example:- Meg is an athlete, so she could have an ability that reflects speed, endurance, or movement.
- Sable practices dark powers, so she could have something unique tied to that theme.
- Claudette is a botanist, so she could use herbs or a slow healing/support ability that fits her background.
- Bill is a soldier, so he could have a defensive or protective ability to help hold the killer off briefly.
Mikaela is a mystic, so she could have her own exclusive supernatural utility.
Stuff like that would make survivors feel more distinct and more interesting to play, instead of mostly being perk holders with interchangeable appearances.
I think giving survivors small character-exclusive items or trial abilities would add personality, variety, and replay value without taking away the perk system.
If killers are allowed to have gameplay identity tied directly to their character, I think survivors should have more of that too.No thanks this would make swfs stronger and solo queue weaker
- Meg is an athlete, so she could have an ability that reflects speed, endurance, or movement.

Because as much as killers complain, you don't see them actually SWITCHING to play the "better" role, even when there's a queue bonus! That's all you need to hear.
Most streamers I watch that play killer mostly are mainly playing survivors so I dont know where this mind set is coming from

@Vergiveren said:
I remember 2021-2022 dbd and survivor queue times were similar to killer queue times(1m),today survivor is almost instant, killer is 4-5m minimum.
The reason is survivors leave games faster then killer. As well you need 4 killers to every one killer. When I take a survivor out of a match thats one more survivor added to the pool of 4 needed for a killer match while if you won or lose on killer noth8ng in the pools math changes. Thus is just how it will work and I have seen the killer side down the second long queue times while survivors queue is minutes long so I think you also need to look at what server your playing on.

You've clearly never had the killer bleed out all the survivors just because they can. I would be fine with other abandons being removed but this one was added for a reason.
So do you agree killers should be able to abandon when a survivor hides in ebd gane just to waste the killers time?

It's very good mechanic to gap so many differences (maps, perks etc). This can also make 110 killers less frustrating to play.
Ya no the stamina might have been interesting if It was added like in 2016 and the game was built around it but its not so I dont think they devs could do it will they couldn't even do the event well.

You're saying the quiet part out loud there. Killers don't care about moris so much as they care about their ability to use them to rub salt in the wounds of a defeated opponent. Guess it's not satisfying unless you can force someone to watch what you're doing to their avatar, huh?
I maintain the same stance I've had on this for a while now - I don't think it should be implemented but if it is, a killer abandon must function exactly the same as a survivor abandon. It shouldn't abruptly end the match for everyone else and should count as a loss for the killer in the same ways a survivor abandon counts as a loss for that survivor. Abandon is surrender.
Personally I don't think it's the same situation since I have a lot more agency as killer than I do as survivor in pretty much any situation. If I'm a killer I can force survivors to either leave or give me more kills. I could go break some doors and pallets or spam my power for bloodpoints. As a survivor I can inch worm around on the ground as a slug I guess? Does that feel like the same situation to anyone?
Yes it does to me it feels actually less annoying to inch worm on the ground then have someone hide from you while you play walking simulator when your queue times are already 5 minutes. Sorry I dont care if I get slugged because ow look I can just abandon and go to another hame to keep playing but jf a survivor wants to hold the killer hostage for end game collapse he can just go next he has to walk around the map looking for the hiding person or waste time stting and letting the timer run out. All this is about is respect. My tome is respected on survivor why isnt it on killer.

The mode is mildly survivor sided but that is enough for everyone to throw up their hands and claim its wildly survivor sided, we see the same thing happen with 2v8. The poison is so strong and non-interactive that it easily matches most of what survivors can do. I have yet to lose as killer in the event mode (about 20 matches) playing as Jason, Plague, Unknown, and Ghostface. Have I struggled in some matches, of course, but I still won even against teams with someone doing exactly what you are.
As someone who plays both sides the mode is wildly survivor sided they get way more and way stronger effects. And no the poison isnt the same as instent healing invincibility speed invisable unbreakable pallets. If you think the poison that only gives the killer realistic a hit if they hit a shot or set up a good bottle vs all that you clearly dont play both sides and shouldn't speak in stuff like this

I know this sounds crazy to some, but could we get rid of the abandon feature altogether?
All it does is encourage quitter-mentality.
If you don't want to play the game, then please just quit before you hit the ready button.
For me its not about not wanting to play its about wanting to play. When a survivor hides hsut to waste my time when queues are 5 minutes basicly making my queue for the next game 7 minutes its frustrating and I just want to play dbd not walking simulator

Survivors making the killers wait for 4 minutes is such a jerk move, and I'll never condone that behavior. We're all just trying to have fun, and if you're a person who derives enjoyment from making people mad…I don't wanna talk to you.
I'll cut the bickering with you and plainly say that my big worry is that killers getting the abandon feature when they still can do something is only going to encourage rage quits. It doesn't feel good having the game end and my victory taken from me because the killer had a tantrum. If my worry is unfounded, then I'll wipe the egg off my face and admit I'm wrong in all of this.
So you know what? I say we should at least try it. See if the increase of rage quitting at the end rises, or not.Your victory wouldnt be taken from you the killer would be replaced with a bot you would get your BP and win its would just let killers have there time respected the same way survivors is.
And if someone's going to rage quit would you rather just lose out on pd or play against a bot and get more bp. I know which one I would pick.

It’s good that we can agree that survivors shouldn’t be able to abandon simply for being slugged multiple times. I also agree with you that there is a big difference between the situations that most people are pointing to here (killer being able to abandon at endgame vs survivors being able to abandon when everyone is hooked/slugged). The feature is really intended to prevent killers from forcing survivors to bleed out for up to 4 minutes and survivors not being able to do anything about it. Killers aren’t forced to wait out the endgame.
Bit a survivor can force a killer to have to wait out the end game collapse by hiding on the map. I have had it happen to me multiple time and guess what it feels worse then when im slugged on survivor because i dont get an indication where the survivor is all I can do is move around the map so just like a slugged survivor.

You get the abandon feature when all remaining survivors are slugged/hooked, in which case you cannot make progress at all and thus the game is over. Do you even play survivor? Doesn't matter how or why they're all downed, it's the fact no action can be taken to continue the game.
Killer wanting to abandon because the gate is open is being a sore loser is because you, as the killer, can still move around and go for a kill or get points in any manner you wish.
I've said this so many times in this thread, and you're so unwilling to understand, and you're just repeating the same thing over and over again. You also get the abandon feature after you have been slugged 3 times so again the survivor can abandon before the game is over why cant killer also i have litteraly gotten all my team back up with unbreakable because the killer slugged all of us and we won yet I had the abandon option for the entire game.

Because literally unable to do anything for 4 minutes was terrible game design.
Survivors can't do anything on the hook or on the ground. The game is over. You all keep forgetting that fact.Your team can save you and you can do as much on survivor as you can on killer when a survivor hides all you can do is move around and hope somthing happens. Also anti slug perks are a think and I have gotten a bot up and out the gate to make the game a draw yet the person was able to abandon so again your weird fixation on the game not being over when survivors can abandon before the game is over like be consistent on your stance should.

They get to abandon because they literally can't do anything to progress the game. What aren't you understanding? The game is over at that point. Killers still have agency over the match, you're just being a sore loser about it and want to quit when things aren't going your way.
You can abandon from just being slugged so no its not because you cant make progress i have been slugged because of altruism and gotten the abandon option. And why is it a sore lower that I just dont want my time wasted by a survivor hiding or waiting on hatch or gate to tbag at me all im asking for is my time respected on killer like its respected on survivor.

If the killer doesn't want to go for the kill then they can eat the DC penalty and not give an option that encourages others to just give up and promote bad sportsmanship.
And you're assuming wrong of me entirely because I don't agree with you. I don't teabag or anything at the gate because I don't want to anger the person I'm playing against. I don't want to be the reason why they're having a bad day. I even give pity kills if they killer wants it. And believe it or not, I don't want my time wasted either, so why would I stick around? I want to get into the next game as soon as possible.
But you just resort to your "us vs them" tactics and continue on with the propaganda that all survivor mains are just the worst human beings on earth.then survivor's should have to take the dc penelty if they want to go next its that simple stop with these rules for one side but not the other
they why not let killers leave they art being sore losers they just want to play the game and not have there time wasted
this is not anuse vs them its a respect problem because survivors do have there time respected while killers doesnt if they added this it wouldn't be fiar.

Killers can still go around and potentially get a kill. Survivors on the ground or hook can't do anything and is pointless to stay. They've lost, and you're just keeping them in there for whatever reason.
Though abandoning after getting knocked down after 3 hits seems kinda much . Should only be when everyone is either downed or hooked.and survivors can get hatch so whats your point both people can do stuff so why is only one sides time respected and the others is not.

No, I think that the game is over because they literally can't do anything to progress the game. Where as killers still have the potential to get a kill. Killers want to abandon when gate is open because they're sore losers.
the game is basicly over and its a choice on the killers side if they want to go for a kill let them if they dont and want to go to the next one let them. your clearly a survivor main who just wants to keep wasting killers time ow have them watch you leave for some sick reason. just take the win its not that hard to be a nice person and respect the killers time.

if survivors get to abandon to not give killers the satisfaction of a mori, killers should be able to abandon to not give survivors the satisfaction of watching them leave.
There’s no good reason for it not to be implemented.
I saw someone say “because adepts”. But my counterpoint is they can make it count as an escape as to not mess with adepts, this also would have to be implemented for challenges and such that require escaping, the ONLY problem I foresee is hatch escape challenges and some challenges where you have to stay and let other people leave before you, but they’re so far a few between they shouldn’t hamper a QoL change like this.
why are yo uacting like the game ends just put the trapper bot mind with no ability in the place of the killer that bot already works just do that and make killer bots that use the abilities later. so the match would keep going so survivors can do what they want for the 2 minutes and escape for the adept.
-
@random1543 said:
I'm of the strong belief killer bots need to added before something like this is implemented.
The game simply ends when the killer leaves no matter what the survivors may be doing. If their was killer bots when killers dced would have much less of a issue with it even if they can only m1 they just need the stop the trail from ending.just make the killer bots just be walk and m1 its not that hard we already have bot trapper just turn off ability and put that bot on all killers till they make proper bots.

I don't know if the issue is my where I'm at in MMR or just getting crappy matches but I have had the worst time in the event. Every match is just Killers hard sweating for the 4k, tunneling, proxy camping the entire time. Or it's survivors just hard genrushing from the start and nobody in the lobby interacting with the event. If I wanted to hard sweat and win every match then I would just playing regular 1v4 without all the wacky and goofy stuff. Which is exactly what I've gone back to doing. I just don't see why it's so hard to just have any sort of fun in this game. Everybody treats every match as life or death. As if they lose this match they won't win million dollars or their family will perish.
All I ask from the community is to just have fun. Enjoy the wacky and silly things that you can do in the event. Have fun with the other people in the game that you normally would be at odds with. These events are meant to bring people together and to have laughs and farm BPs. I've had 2-3 matches so far where I've honestly had a wonderful time. Using the invis or the invul to make plays, lose killers, and do other funny things. Did I escape? Nope. Do I care? Absolutely not. The event isn't meant for winning. It's meant for fun and goofs. Just go have fun and goof around with each other. I promise you'll enjoy it more and you won't raise your cortisol trying to hard sweat in a mode where somebody can invul sabo your hook and auto pick the whole team up with a banquet table.
For some people winning is fun and sorry this even ks so survivor sided killers have to sweat or they just lose because of how broken survivors buffs are in this mode. I play both sides and have regular won games on survivor where the killer didn't even get a hook because I spent all game sneaking around keeping the tables filled and helaing my team which just undid all the killers work. If your on a non meta killer you will suffer sadly because the mode is just that survivor sided. Also tunneling and slugging are the exact same as flash light saving or Gen rushing its just a way to further you game plan if you dont like it bring anti tunnel perks and anti slug perks just like killers bring light born and regression perks.

Most killers are bad too, content creators just give them sympathy for sucking instead of calling them on it and that attitude has permeated the community. Seriously watch almost any of them, if the killer is doing poorly and is unable to catch the survivors they give the killer sympathy but if its a survivor doing bad they get trash talked. Otz has an incredible PR team with how he somehow manages to maintain a "wholesome" reputation with the way he shouts at survivors. I don't blame him for getting frustrated at the game and have done it myself but I don't have a reputation as wholesome.
There are bad killers yes but killers only have themselves so they cant be carried like survivors not to mention how no killer perk is anywhere near as powerful as meta survivor perks. Also content creators crap on killers all the time calling them bad because they didnt play to the made up rules survivors have like no tunneling which is just getting someone out first or slugging when the kilelr has to because their teammates are around going for the save. Killers get way most toxicity from streamers the survivors do does it never happen to survivors no but killers get toxicity way more sense its a 4v1 game.

Killers can abandon if it takes survivors 10 minutes to break a 3 gen. I had a killer abandon after the gates were open and I was on hook. Apparently the 3 gen we had took 10 minutes to break. I guess the killer got the abandon option and it didn't go away even when we finally finished the gen and an exit gate was opened. He downed and hooked me as the gate was being opened. Left me to chase someone out and then abandoned as my other teammate was coming to unhook me. When the game just ended and the scoreboard didn't show a DC I was so confused until someone told me the 10 minute no gens completing gives killers an abandon option that doesn't go away.

Exactly. I hope the new Halloween and SAW games do well, but in a few months, people will get bored of playing them. DbD’s advantage is variety: if you get tired of setting traps as Trapper, you can throw hatchets as Huntress, for example.
I don't see how Halloween or SAW could have that kind of variety without straying too far from their own lore.
We would need a new asymmetrical game with its own original content to actually compete with DbD.
the saw game will fail and i can tell you exactly why the 3 players can all jump and killer the one player it never works out well when that can happen so sadly the saw game looks like its dead on arrival

It sounds like you have a lot more autonomy than the average Survivor then. You're still choosing to play super aggressively in the event queue as well, which honestly is only proving that even with stronger powers Survivors will still be easily steamrolled if Killer wants it bad enough.
that's because most survivors are dog ######### and rely on perks to carry them or other people being good enough to carry the bad survivors while killer has to do everything on there own. as well altruism wins me most games on killer people go in for save before i even leave and then they get mad i kill them.

sadly the problem is dbd is like fortnight you need to have a insane amount if ip's and a better idea for people to swap.

The Main Course begins promptly at the start of the Trial. One of three meals is randomly chosen for the Menu of the Day, defining that Trial’s effects and kicking things off with a Global Effect for everyone.

During this course, Survivors can collect Morsels from Dining Carts.

Eat these for a small, personal effect, or work together to fill a Banquet Table with 4 Morsels, and you’ll trigger a stronger Banquet Payoff, affecting all Survivors. It pays to lay out a feast!

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2VPULPPMJWJA/killer-poisondiningcart.gif
It can even be applied to Dining Carts, secretly tainting their Morsels for a time and preventing them from filling Banquet Tables.

Once 4 gens have been completed or a single Survivor remains, it’s time for the Dessert Course.

During this course, the Global Effect deactivates, Morsels can’t be collected, and Killers can’t use poison. Instead, both roles can interact with Dining Carts or Banquet Tables for a random buff, like Elusive for Survivor or Undetectable for Killer.

Ghost is my favorite character and he fits the killer role very well seeing as he kills for the same reason as skull merchant ontop he would have a very interesting power set to work off of compared to other marvel murderers or horror characters sense we already have dracula for the vamprires and i fee llike we could have a cool original werewolf killer
elsa would be a really cool survivor.

I don't think Jason basekit needs a nerf, however some of his addons probably do need adjusting
