  • I’ve had some of my hardest matches as Pyramidhead with MMR on.

The great irony is all these rank 1 survivors the game is putting me against....they only hold W. That’s it. Hold W and have the swf split across gens on the map.

The more skillful players are playing in braindead unskillful ways.

That’s Dead by Daylight design and you can be sure they’ll never do anything to address it. I’m not blaming the survivors, I’m sure they would want to play in more risky ways but what’s the point when holding W is so much more powerful?

  • They don’t care about your feedback man. Everyone has said breakable walls are trash, they dont listen. People said meat plant and some other reaorked maps are bad, they dont listen. People said the clown rework was a disappointment, they dont listen. People said trickster and other killers were underwhelming, they dont listen. People have said Haddonfield sucks for 4 years now, they dont listen.

They just dont care about anything the community has to say. Their spreadsheets say 2 kills, 2 escapes at the end of the game and thats all that matters.

  • @Zozzy said:

no. perks dead, bad design, leave it dead.

If you want a free life then just use dead hard.

This. There are enough second chances in the average trial without bringing this back

  • Drop pallets early, rush gens early. Clown is pretty much screwed at that point.

  • People aren't stupid, they'll realize that they've been put with people of a wildly different skill level no matter how much you try to hide it.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Well, I guess the info to take away from this is I play Hillbilly competently, therefore I cannot play him anymore. This is truly a bummer.

Pretty much. Queue times aren't too bad for me at the moment but last time they were horrible, I was like you basically locked out of my favourite killers. It might finally be the nail in the coffin of the game for me.

  • @KlapzCheeks said:

Its funny how people are describing what theyre playing with by ranks. Rank does not matter at all, never has. Give your feedback based on how theyre playing not red purple or green.

Ranks are an easy way to describe them. Red ranks are playing really well, green and lower ranks are playing really bad.

This myth that an untapped trove of pro loopers exists at rank 20 is just people drinking the koolaid and snake oil being given to them by the devs.

  • @Im_Tired said:

I'll be honest. The games have been really balanced imo. Most of the time I get a 2k. If I get a 4k I'm sweating at the end of it. Kinda sucks since being casual is more fun, but can't deny the survivors feel like they're at my level

Because the ranks have been a good indicator of skill. Survivors listed as rank 15-20 play like they're very new to the game, survivors in ranks 1-4 are playing like they're very experienced. I've yet to see a low rank survivor perform well in a chase, and I've yet to see a high rank survivor run around like a potato.

  • I tried Trapper and Huntress 2 killers I rarely ever use and I had babies. In one game the survivor had 15 hours on the game.

I tried clown and it was hard but the survivors weren't amazing lol, its more clown sucks when they play safe and drop pallets early.

I tried PH probably the killer I've been most tryhard with and I'm getting really tough games. So MMR has determined that I use this killer and perform well with them. The real nugget of info though is what happens when you lobby dodge. One game was full of low ranks, they played quite inexperienced, the lobby before had members of team Agony in it. That's quite a difference on the same killer so either MMR isn't working or as suspected its throwing out anyone to cut down on queue times for survivors.

Edit: Also this is more evidence the devs have been lying about swf. PH is getting the sweatiest games and all lobbies are swf. Literally all of them. My other killers are mixed. SWF is clearly at the top of the MMR pile.

  • @HellDescent said:

Step 1 When the game starts drop a pallet

Step 2, fast vault it a few times

    Step 3 reset the pallet

Step 4 stand at the pallet and stun the killer when he comes

    Challenge done

    This, it was surprisingly easy.

  • Does MMR go back in the oven for another year, Behaviour?

  • They consider the Clown rework a success and they're happy with it. This after pretty much everyone said it either sucks or is pointless. Let that sink in, they're in a world of their own over at Behaviour.

  • @MadLordJack said:

I feel kind of bad because I rarely go agasint a good Plague, but I know her pretty well, so it ends up being me looping her for most, if not all, of her Corrupt Purge.

I feel like most players don't get enough practice as/agasint Plague. So, naturally, I kill my entire team by constantly cleansing because yaassss, chase me girl

lol I'm the same. I hate the green crap over the screen and I would rather she get her power. Imagine if you could stop Myers getting tier 3, it doesn't make for a very exciting game. I prefer to cleanse and try to dodge or stealth when she gets corrupt purge

  • How many games did you have before that?

Last time and this time I noticed a pattern where as survivor the more games you have the worse the matchmaking gets, even if you lose or give up on hook over and over the killers get better and better and the survivors you're with get weaker and weaker.

    You didn't read the op.

He is questioning the effectiveness of the sbmm because at some point its going to spend a long time trying to find people close to you in skill.

The question is what will it do? Bring in people higher and lowered skilled than you to get a game faster? Make the queues worse while it keeps searching for similar skilled people? It's a legit concern.

The current system can't usually find similar rank players as you so it expands search to lower amd higher ranked people which isn't always good.

Thanks I'm glad you understood what I meant.

I say rainbow ranks because just like last time MMR was tested, the rank 15-20 survivors play like they're new and the rank 1-5 players play much better.

Queue times for me aren't much longer than they have been the past few weeks. It feels like the game is still throwing various ranks/skill levels together to cut down on queue times.

  • @Alphasoul05 said:

A year later and they still can't quite get it right, even with it "running in the background"

I hope this never, ever, ever becomes a thing.

It might be working fine it might just be the queue times breaking it. It won't make people wait 20 minutes for a game, it tends to wait about 5 and then just throw anyone together to stop them waiting too long.

  • I share your concern. I know what BHVR is like, I feel like if people aren't strong enough in their feedback now we'll end up in a situation where they say "its good enough" slap it in the game and we're stuck with all of its problems for years. They've done this with plenty of things in the game, killers, maps etc.

  • I'm getting 2 toolboxes & 2 BNP per game a hell of a lot. Do survivors feel the gens aren't fast enough?

  • In before the "ranks don't matter" damage control.

edit: wait a minute, how are you devotion 3? do you play survivor only?

  • Just like last time it completely ruins survivor. I've yet to try killer but I don't have much hope.

  • The MMR is as much an embarrasing failure as it was last time.

As survivor its pitted me against green rank killers who seem to only be able to get kills via NOED. It puts me with complete potato survivors too.

"mAyBe Ur JuSt nOt aS gOOd aS u ThiNk u R"

No there is clearly a discrepancy between survivor skill. How is it that some survivors are lasting about 10 seconds per chase against a killer, meanwhile that killer lands literally 1 hit max on me throughout the entire trial? is this how you balance it? 2 good survivors and 2 terrible? because that's how it was with MMR off too.

If that was all it would be DBD as normal but oh no, then the real beauty of the MMR slips in

Red rank killers vs grey rank survivors. I've literally seen a rank 1 Nurse being given a rank 20 survivor

"mAybE RaNkS DonT mAtTEr aNd thAt sUrVivOr iS ReaLLy goOd"

No they have about a tenth of the hours the killers have in the game and it shows. Once again you're clearly putting beginners against pros.

At this point it's time to throw in the towel. The MMR scheme is clearly beyond your limits, either outsource it to someone who knows what they're doing or pull the plug on it because it's only hurting the game every time it's tested. I haven't even tried killer yet but if it's anything like last time I can no doubt look forward to long queue times and be given 10,000 hour swf for my Trapper and Wraith and fresh meat rank 20s for my Spirit and Clown.

  • @aylawell said:

It may not even be you friend, I've been having the same issue with penalties that aren't my fault, just now first match of the day I got a matchmaking lockout while doing a generator.. all survivors got points, killer got none, I even kept my medkit but clearly I deserve this penalty right? I have a similar post to this and nobody has answers. My other games don't drop me, my X series is wired to my modem.. there's something more applying these penalties other than just what can be accounted to your end.

I haven’t had disconnects but I’ve been getting weird lagspikes in DBD the past 2 weeks or so. Like it teleports me or the survivors a little bit.

  • @Mandy said:

I don't think anyone denies that hackers or cheaters exist and there's a reason we give permanent bans for these things

Pretty sure I've said on this very forum that it's a circle, people find a way to cheat, EAC gets updated, they get caught, another cheat is developed, EAC gets updated and so on and so forth - that's pretty much the way things work and will probably always work, for any anti-cheat system because there's always people developing a new way around them.

We have a team of ACM's who review the reports - so they are manually done, not automated and of course we don't go by number of reports alone, we do require actual evidence.

We also have temporary bans as well as permanent ones so sometimes when you make a report and you don't see action (ie the game ban notification on someones profile), doesn't mean that action wasn't taken against that account, it just means that it wasn't a permanent ban.

So EAC is still getting regular updates? I ask because it feels like cheating has skyrocketed the past year.

Is there no way for mods to check without video evidence either? By that I mean if 50 people all report an account for speed hacks, I know a lot of things are recorded for data, can they not tell if a survivor has been running around at 500% speed which defies all explanation? Could collecting more data on this be gathered?

  • Bills are statistically the most useless survivor I would imagine.

  • Waste of money on both accounts. Pig is weak and when you vs the sweats you’re setting yourself up for a stressful game.

Freddy is about to receive a huge nerf so I’d wait and see how that turns out before you buy him.

  • My headset cost a lot but I still can't hear much due to the sounds being nerfed so many times over the years. Part of it is the chase music which is far louder than it used to be (watch old videos, the difference is striking) and the other half is that the game thinks even if you're outdoors, if there's a wall between you or near you all sound must be blocked.

Really I think everyone takes Stridor on Spirit because of how many survivors are using Iron Will. That's the reason I take it anyway.

  • Yeah it's one of the reasons why I don't touch solo survivor anymore. I tried it the other day for a challenge, red rank killer, other survivors all between ranks 12-17. Never again, I'll wait for swf time for survivor challenges.

This is why I became a killer main. Not because I don't like survivor but because survivor was becoming an absolute shambles of a game.

  • Tru3Ta1ent - Complains a lot and bites to people baiting him in his chat but his content is simple and good.

Otzdarva - Feels like he shills a little too hard sometimes but has creative builds

The King - Haven't seen King in a while but he was more of a news source kind of guy from what I remember

Scott Jund - Comes across as arrogant sometimes and a bit too much of a "know it all" attitude, but his content isn't that bad. It just bugs me how people will parrot his videos non-stop afterwards

Paulie Esther - Haven't seen much of Paulie. From what I gather he's close to the company but a bit more of a casual gamer? or am I wrong?

Dowsey - Why is he even here? not a very nice person with lots of behind the scenes drama and has generally done some pretty crappy things to people in the DBD community. Also trolls in games.

  • This is what happens when you let reddit and some youtubers with hot takes influence you.

Freddy is weak early game and genrush style gameplay is strongest early game. Freddy also isn't as powerful as people say. Killrates =/= strength

  • For survivor? extremely powerful. The killer doesn't have 60 seconds to waste looking for who worked on a generator, so they have to leave allowing you to finish it.

For killer? mostly junk. SWF call out, I've had it happen many times when I thought I was going to surprise a survivor inside a building. Also spine chill.

I didn't think about the animation lock, that's a solid change then.

From what I heard it's just to encourage use of the perk. Sprint burst, lithe, balanced all activate with no risk. This one has a chance of being hit at a pallet, it has more of a requirement than the other perks so it gets an extra second. It basically ends the chase because there's no point carrying on you can see in the twitter video how far they make it.

DBD leaks posted a while ago that DBD renewed Haloween license, so maybe we can hope for a Haddonfield rework. Like a good rework. Like, nuke all buildings to the ground and burn all the great fences of haddonfield.

They worked on the Badham maps twice and all the same problematic buildings exist. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

  • @TheArbiter said:

House of pain would like a word with you

Campbell's chapel is a new contender, the only downside is it relies on RNG.

  • He's still really powerful, people overreacted to the nerf. I think the instasaw removal put off all the noobs but also he's kinda boring.

  • Blight and Legion.

Blight for the reason in the op, hyped for 2 years just to get a pinball machine

Legion...I was kind of new at the time, he was coming off the back of Spirit who was well received, looked like he was going to be unique with 4 personalities......and we end up getting DEEP WOUNDS

  • @Moxie said:

Devs say it fine so it will never get changed. Its actually the fifteenth survivor friendly map. So stop complaining /s

I love a certain Dev who thinks lots of things are fine when...they aren't.

15th now but at one point was 3rd. Nobody has explained why it dropped 12 places, as nothing significant happened other than the BL nerf.

But personally if one map had to be disabled I'd rather it be meat plant.

  • If there’s one thing exhaustion perks don’t need it’s a buff.

You know what else promotes poor play and is why bloodlust exists? God pallets or safe loops that cant be mindgamed. *looking at you the game and haddonfield*

In all their complaints about bloodlust and specific killers and add ons this is one fact the survivors seem to gloss over

  • Hate to break it to you but that’s kind of the point of this game now. Those people are meant to have fun at your expense. Everything about the game and all the design and balance decisions over the past 5 years has made this evidently clear.

Why? Simply put - they buy more cosmetics than you therefore they are more important customers.

  • Dead hard - Actually detracts from the fun of playing certain killers

SWF stacking BS - an instaheal or toolbox & bnp or an Unbreakable I’m ok with. 4 strong items on top of 16 second chance perks I’m not. (But dont dodge lobbys right?)

Nurse - Spirit has no counterplay but Nurse is perfectly fine says everyone letting their bias cloud their judgement. THIS is no counterplay. The only killer in the game who has complete control of the chase.

Map offerings - Coldwind, coldwind, coldwind, ormond, ormond, haddonfield, coldwind, haddonfield, ormond, ormond, haddonfield, coldwind, coldwind, haddonfield. All those offerings and its the same few maps everytime, they’re only being abused at this point by swf that want every advantage they can get.

    Ghostface - Make him work

Legion - Desperately needs a rework

Slugging for the 4k - Its boring, let them bleed out faster

Maps - One of the biggest problems in the game. Too many god pallets on some, too strong hold W zones on others. If bad players get carried by OP killers then maps are the survivor equivalent, where bad map design can carry bad survivors. Badham school for example can probably waste around 3 gens of time and its only holding W, running the fence, to a god pallet, to a fence, to a god pallet. Too much time wasted for how little skill it involves

  • Why not? It’s good.

Why do swf groups bring 3 toolboxes and a key?

  • I know Blight is well liked by some but personally that’s a killer that I never want to play ever again. I don’t think there has been an interesting killer since PH ahead. Descend Beyond was Hex:Undying and thats it everything else about the chapter was completely forgettable.

I will say this Tricker was fun. I think some of the suggested buffs were unreasonable, 115% movement speed or ricochet bonus damage basekit were never going to happen and would be unfair. Having said that he could have used some buffs and a number of more reasonable ones have been suggested but so far nothing. Even all of the fog whisperers have called him extremely weak which is a rare thing to happen.

You do you. we all know what happened.

I didn't have instant survivor q for nothing.

I feel like the drop in survivors was more because of the desync hits than the animation, but either way you’re right this was definitely developers caving in to pressure from survivors once again.

It was a really, really dumb move. 360’s are just survivors wanting safety 100% of the time. Another second chance stacked on top of all the other second chances.

”but but 360’s only hurt bad killers!”

And thats the problem. Videogames are like a company, there’s turnover. Old players leave and new ones join. You’re going to constantly need new people to stop your game numbers declining from the old ones leaving but more importantly to actually grow your playerbase. Survivor queue times are at an all time high and here was a chance to remove one of the mechanics that frustrates new players and they wouldn’t do if.

Am I saying new killers quit because of 360’s alone? No, but the point is its one of many frustrating mechanics and its one that they had removed and later put back in. All so that when the matchmaking throws out its garbage or the swf get a smurf some red rank can do a few 360 click click 360 click click plays for their YouTube montage.

Meanwhile watch survivors rage about queue times and killers lobby dodging (the only killers left arent willing to face your 3 toolbox and a key swf on coldwind)

It sucks that just because someone had one bad experience with a a certain person means that they will treat all people from that particular group with aggression and unfairness.

Sounds similar to something from the history books I learnt about in school🤔

Firstly where did I say I treat twitch streamers bad? All I’m sayng is that you cant broadcast your game to the world, broadcast other people without their consent, and then cry for bans if someone playing against you dares to look at your stream

Secondly are you....are you comparing me to Hitler? Because I said stream sniping isn’t cheating? Are you actually serious? You ttv people are delusional.

Let me make it clear one more time. If you don’t want people looking at your gameplay then stop streaming. Why should someone be banned from the game just for watching a broadcast you have chosen to share with the world? Get over yourselves.

    "Not like someone is wallhacking"

Whats the difference between knowing exactly where a survivor is with a 2 seconds delay and wall hacks exactly? They're almost identical in the advantage they give you.

oh no, one streamer said a bad thing about me, time to cheat against every streamer i see, very mature.

Well one is downloading and installing actual cheats for an advantage.

The other is just watching a game someone has decided to broadcast to the world.

If you think they’re even remotely the same I don’t know what to say to you. I take it you stream? Because this sounds like you have a real investment in the argument

For what its worth I dont actually stream snipe. I dont see the point, might help find a location at the very start but once the game is on I feel like taking my attention off it would only hurt me. Besides I tend to try and avoid streamers if I can since as I mentioned above I’m a private person.

  • @Shroompy said:

Nurse is the hardest killer to learn, not play.

Once you know how to blink properly you ignore pretty much every thing a survivor can do in chase which makes it a pretty easy match in the end.

Yes. I am so relieved someone else gets this. Once you become competent with her half the games are a sweatfest and half are easy. Once you master her you’re just going to dominate with little resistance from survivors. Spirit and Freddy despite popular belief still have to work harder for that victory.

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026857#Comment_2026857

"Take advantage" so you literally just agreed it's doing something to gain an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have which is cheating.

    gg

Its not like people are wallhacking or pulling out unlimited instaheals 🤣

Once more it is YOUR CHOICE to broadcast the game. They can only see your pov if you let them. If you dont like it you dont broadcast. You have to take the good with the bad.

Meanwhile I’ve had streamers talk crap about me, lie about me, all of this without my consent. I have zero sympathy for some entitled streamers.

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026845#Comment_2026845

It's crazy to me that this is how you try to justify it, it's not cheating because it's there to watch? Lmao this community expects streamers to be nice as we've seen from the threads the past couple of days but will then jump at the chance to kill them immediately because they have ttv in their name, now that's being a hypocrit.

    Such an embarrassment.

Its not cheating because the person streaming is choosing to broadcast their game to the world. I don't want people looking at my screen therefore I don't broadcast it.

I mean really it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you choose to show people what's happening on your screen some people might take advantage.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 16
