Omg... no... there literally are less than ten windows on the Game. No other map has so few vaults. Shelter Woods has many more, with pallet gyms, T&L walls, shack, and Z walls. I want to say that the Game has... 7??? vaults??? Maybe 9. But all I can remember right now are the three vaults upstairs (one by the exit gate, the above the bathroom loop, and the one that takes you down the M E A T T U B E) and then maybe 4-6 downstairs (T&L, cold room vault, and then ??? Maybe another T&L I'm forgetting?)
Gideon Meat Plant DEFINITELY has the smallest number of vaults in any map, and therefore SHOULD have more safe pallets as an alternative. The trade off for a strong early game for survivors is that anyone chased in mid and late game could very well get caught lacking, running only in dead zones. This essentially means you have a very poor chance of ending chases quickly before the gates are powered you don't have a good start as killer, though, imo.
I think Gideon did need to be reworked to become more survivor friendly (was one of the most killer favored maps by stats) but it's definitely a possibility that they went a little too wild with the pallet additions. They probably will want some more stats before they do anything, though
Pretty much everybody has said its a joke and there own fog whisperers have called it trash. I dont think Ive ever seen oh tofu rip on a map or have monto make a video calling out how bad a map is.
Theres no “wait for data” its obvious to anyone with time in the game that its a really bad map and probably should be pulled from rotation for the time being

I feel that their should always be an obsession.
Killers complain about DS, then when there is no obsession, many go full on tunnel.
I play about 60/40 survivor, but started the game as 100% killer. I see both sides.
Survivors complain about tunneling, killer says bring DS. Killer complains about DS, then tunnels when there isn't.
Always an obsession in return for killers always start with corrupt intervention? Because its unfair survivors can put so many charges into gens before the killer even finds one, or how they can spread out across a 500 mile wide map that the killer will never be able to pressure
No im guessing “that wouldnt be fair”

Man i can´t wait for all the threads demanding a lobby dodge penalty!
Killer just isn´t fun anymore. So unless the devs do something about it, survivors will see a lot of dodging killers.
What do you propose?
For me it’s probably the maps above all. Gen speeds are bad but at least on a good map I can try to have fun in a 3 minute game. I just dont want to play if I get meat plant now with its god pallets, or midwich holding W and having to knock on every breakable door before entering a room, or some maps have breakable walls every few metres and every chase gets interrupted by one and it breaks the intensity and fun of the chase because at that point its usually not worth chasing the survivor anymore. Then you have some of the windows cropping up even if you break the wall, the doorway is so far from the window it makes no real difference you still need an entity blocker if the survivor loops it.
Maps were in a better spot after last years rework and they just ruined them again. Last time I had Gideon and midwich I just facecamped because I didnt want to play anymore its so bad. I can see myself going on another 6 month break from the game.
-
It was inevitable. Y’all had to abuse it, just sit in a gen, DS the killer when he grabs you and pop the gen in his face. We’ve all seen it, y’all thought you were funny. Now the chickens have come home to roost.

Oh I also forgot Detective's Hunch/Small Game?
Camping? BT
Coordination? Bond/Kindred
Spirit? Spine Chill/Iron Will/OTR
NOED? Detective's Hunch/Small Game
Seriously get good you dont need half of those
I'm just quoting what I've been told around these forums. Personally I play with DS/WGLF/IW/Hope a lot of the time, and the matchmaking decides to set me up with 3 rank 14s and I'm the only one who gets out.
At rank 1.
Anyone who tells you that you need off the record is an idiot.
Kindred maybe, borrowed is good too, the rest you dont need so much.
But maps are going trash again so killed have the same issue. Gens too fast? Corrput, ruin, pop, too many god pallets? Enduring/spirit fury/brutal strength, new overpowered windows being put in game? Bamboozle
Everyone is in the same boat.

Deathslinger
Do I like Deathslinger? Not really, but that was the period when after years of complaints they finally fixed the maps. We had good maps for about half a year, then they had to touch them up again and now we’re back where we started.
r.i.p DBD. Maps right now are worse than they have been in 3 years

Yeah let me stick that into the rest of my build of perks "needed" in solo to have a good experience. There's plenty of room alongside Bond, Kindred, Iron Will, Spine Chill, an exhaustion perk, Off The Record, Borrowed Time, and Windows Of Opportunity.
Lmao thats the first time I ever read about Bond, spine chill, exhaustion perk, off the record and windows of opportunity being mandatory perks for solo queue. Seriously get good you dont need half of those.
Theres 16 perk slots for survivor. All it takes is one survivor to bring 1 obsession perk for an obsession.
killer has 4 perk slots and also has “mandatory” perks for a good time, especially so for M1 killers

That may be the most entitled comment I've ever read lmao not everyone runs a 4 man squad, the killer shouldn't care if survivors don't have it but they do, because it's an easy game. Wouldn't want to take that away from you would we buddy
People like you want the benefits of DS but you also want someone else to be the one to take it for you so you can stack up your Dead Hard/Unbreakable/Adrenaline/Iron will/Deliverance builds.
None of the survivors should get the benefits of a perk if none of them are willing to take the perk. Get over yourself and stop being entitled. Just take the damn perk if you want the benefits of it.
You should be grateful that 3 people get the benefit of it from just one person using it. The developers did you a HUGE favour there. You should personally thank which ever survivor brought it after the game since you’re clearly just going to leech off everyone else.
-
Survivors should get the benefits of making the killer think have Decisive Strike when not one of them is willing to use a perk slot for it? 16 perks, not a single DS, but the survivors deserve the killer to be fooled into thinking they have it
This might be the most entitled thing I ever read. The simple fix is to bring an obsession perk. There’s one called Decisive Strike, it’s pretty good you should try it.
-
Imo there needs to be an inquiry into how a map like this makes it to the live servers. Somebody needs to be held accountable. Surely the company must have some kind of performance review for the designers?

Looping is the literal ONLY skillful thing a survivor can do.
Running a killer for a long time around a single L-wall, T-wall takes some skill. Predicting where a killer will go on a tile and juking them to lose them takes some knowledge. I think killers can appreciate that. The problem is, and this is an extreme example, but new meat plant is a good example where you just hold forwards and drop god pallets.
Meat plant, Badham, Lerys, Midwich they all seem to have varying shades of this.
-
Firsty BBQ is trash for the aura reading. You rarely see survivors, and if you do they’re always miles away (remember 40m is the MINIMUM distance, they’re often much further). If you’re not using a killer with high mobility than congrats walking to and fro all across the map all game just cost you the game
Secondly I dont know what you want killers to do. Survivors complain when the killer camps, they complain when the killer goes to chase someone else. You might as well just make it an ingame rule where killers have to walk to the corner turn around and count to 10 after a hook before they’re allowed to do anything else

Breakable walls were never a good idea making killers spend precious time to save them from a survivor just abusing infinites which some breakable walls still don't fix I have been playing wraith and the survivor just finds an infinite and I am done for no way I can get them without blood lusting 3 to get to them. Breakable walls are not the solution for infinite loops. They are just a detriment to killers might as well just have added a palette there instead of a breakable wall it would be the same but they would never add a palette where they add breakable walls so why do they add breakable walls instead.
The original breakable walls fixed infinites.
The new ones don’t. There is a window on blood lodge that you can loop until the entity blocks it and you can see through the walls so there’s no mindgame, for some reason the breakable wall is about 10m to the right of the window and when testing this in KYF it was actually faster to vault the window as killer rather than break the wall. I dont get it. Between some of the autohaven reworks, meat plant and chapel we’re seeing DBD return to its early days of map design and windows which nobody liked

BUT BUT DERES NUFING U CAN DO AGAINZT FWEDDDY!!! FWEDDY OPP!!!! 😭😭🤧
-
This has been a thing forever. Its why you shouldnt take people serious who say “freddy takes no skilll”, “spirit takes no skill”. On some maps as survivor you can win just by holding W and dropping god pallets. If you’ve got sprint burst even better.
If the killer chases a survivor through Badham school for example that alone can be a game winning chase just by holding forward as survivor. Hold W through the school, drop a god pallet, hold W around, drop a god pallet if killer is too close, and use the fence window which easily gives you 2 x loop. I’ve never timed it but with a fresh spawn holding W there until the resources are gone is easily 3 gens worth and that’s for a single hit, you’ve still got another hit to go.
Worth bearing in mind that the designers reworked this map TWICE and this is the best they could come up with. I would bet your average DBD player could design a better map, i know thats a clichè that gets said a lot but in this case its true

Who said anything about a free pass? Adults know how to give feedback without sounding like spoiled brats. I already gave my feedback on the map, as I'm sure many others have as well. Why does my feedback and yours get different results? :)
you haven't had any results with this map yet.
It hurts me because seeing them put out maps like this makes me sad for the future of the game. When they show no signs of understanding their own game how can players have faith in the future of the games health? if after 4.5 years this map is the best they can come up with what are we meant to take away from that? all I can assume is that they don't understand how to make good maps.

I haven't had that much of an issue with the walls on Midwich. There's what, 8 or 9 total? And none really have to be broken until a survivor loops around one or unless you need a shortcut to staircases.
I find Midwich to be an example of breakable walls done right.
why done right? all I see is you are meant to say "KNOCK KNOCK" to the survivor and give them a big knock before you come in. By that point they've sprint burst half way across the map.

I will never understand why people think a post like this will get them any traction? Do you open with insulting people in your real life too? Does Gideon need some work? Absolutely. Your social skills could use some too.
I don't understand why everyone always wants to give people a free pass? maps like these ruin the entire game because if it comes up it is unplayable bad. You can't even "skip" it since you can't disable maps and you can't dc.
They have had 4.5 years to learn about maps and what makes a map good and bad and they churn out this abomination and we are meant to be "oh well I'm sure it will be fixed one day in the future". No you need to hold people to account especially when you're a paying customer. It needs to be fixed soon, i.e. by mid chapter. They need to admit to customers that they messed up, that it's bad design, and that they intend to fix it as soon as possible.
-
I hate him too he's a tunneling machine. Everytime you're unhooked and vulnerable he seems to have hsi static blast ready. He reminds me of old Freddy in that you can never really get away from him, everytime you lose him he just holds the CTRL key and finds you when you're usually by that point out of position.
-
Nope. It's the benefit of nobody wanting to play killer. You ditch the 4 man groups, no more than 2 toolboxes and certainly no keys or you can stay in the queue.
-
i dont know it's complete trash lmao I guess I just play out of habit but we're at the point now we're I'd rather take the 5 minute penalty than play some of the maps like new meat plant. At that point rather than wait I just move on to another game 🙆
-
they're so ######### stupid. It's just a buff for survivors as if they needed them? the whole point of breakable walls on maps like midwich or meat plant is so the killer gives a big "HELLO SURVIVORS IM HERE!!!" heads up, as if the terror radius wasnt enough. Except now you give them a few seconds to get running while you break the door
-
survivors
-
@JackFrostMan said:
I have never heard someone using the term "tunneling" for someone working on a gen. News flash, survivors have the main goal of getting generators done.
That's what they want to do. Get the gen done. You want to stop them from doing gens? Down them and put them on a hook instead of just chasing them away.
then if the killer has the main goal of getting kills, tunneling survivors is ok?

Poor mobility like every 115% speed killer. His power lies in his anti loop potential. I actually saw some big brain plays from clown while playing survivor, and on YT. If you really know how to do and what to do with both bottles on each loop, you will get some super fast hooks, and mobility is not a problem. The time you gained by ending your chases quickly will bring you pressure. Plus, in the late game, the map technically isn't big, you're moving on your 3 gen.
Ok you convince me Clown is top tier. I shall look forward to seeing players dominate with him in the next tournaments.
-
The secret is to stop worrying and just play for kills by any means necessary. Survivors stick to gens no matter what, until you facecamp and then suddenly they are like moths to a flame.
Sure you don't get many points but you can get the kills which is what we all really want.
-
Bloodlust should say. Do you know that if you just hold forwards on places like the badham preschool how much time you can waste? just run forwards through the school and drop a god pallet here and there and then vault the window and around and vault and around.
Why should survivor be able to waste 60+ seconds by just holding forwards? bloodlust is the only thing that makes some areas tolerable. If they remove bloodluist before the maps are fixed I'll quit playing.
-
I played this on the ptb and I had a survivor use like 20 windows against me in the Chapel alone. Luckily it hasn't come up in playlist for me yet but I am afraid when it does. It's window into window into window.

That's... The point. Tonic makes hindered effect : -15% speed. Antidote makes haste : +10% speed.
If you place both gaz well, only you are getting the antidote and the survivor is getting the tonic.
The survivor is at 85% speed, and you're at 125% speed, making a speed difference of freakin' 40%. That's a mad bloodlust 9999.
Plus, he got also buffed his reloading speed, and that is a small, but important buff. That's why now he's a pretty solid anti-loop killer in good hands.
This is one of those "on paper" things isn't it. Clown could get hits easy before, he just suffered like a lot of killers with poor map pressure, poor mobility on larger maps, can't easily juggle survivors. This update fixes very little of his flaws. 10%+ speed does not make him a good killer.

Yes much faster to a point where survivors can’t really do much

We got a master of strategy here
Before you slow the survivor down so you catch up faster. Now you speed yourself up so you catch up faster. It's the same power. None of his weaknesses have been addressed. It's like a clone character in Smash Bros, slightly different but basically the same ya know?
-
Instead of slowing the survivor down, you speed up. Same difference he's basically the same tier.

Dc penalty is there for people like you. Nice first post btw.
You actually think this is acceptable design? the maps were designed where you can't see through walls to give the killer a chance to mindgame and get a hit.
In any other game what OoO does against freddy would be a hack or an exploit. In any other game you would need to actually cheat or mod the game to get that kind of information on your opponent. In this game they just put it in and call it a day? lol?
They banned people for the legion blade exploit. trapper hiding his traps under textures had to be changed all the time. But this is acceptable??
