  • And? It was completely busted before and broke the design of the game. They couldn’t just leave it as it was.

It needs a buff for Solo que, if anything.

Even against a coordinated SWF, you eventually get used to where survivors are leading you, and anticipate which areas and lockers they're going to be in. Also don't forget that if they're all head-oning you, they're not getting gens done. It all comes with gaining game sense and predicting survivors.

That's exactly what head on suffers from. It is incredibly predictable, and once good killers know you have it, they won't fall for it again.

You can know which lockers they’re in but it doesn’t matter, you can’t do anything since there’s no counterplay. Singing and dancing in front of the locker to try and bait them out is not counterplay. Its also hard to avoid sometimes because they keep making the hitbox bigger and bigger so that it can’t be avoided because survivors need their fun.

  • It doesn’t get better when you’re red ranks and much more experienced. The problem with the game is and always has been the maps, and you never really feel outplayed. If you get a map like Haddonfield for example it just feels like the best survivor is not determined by skill or someone thats able to predict you, its about who knows how to exploit the abysmal map design the most. A lot of maps take no skill as survivor, sprint bursting to the safest loops which a lot of the older killers are just not equipped to handle efficiently. That’s the thing a lot of people don’t realize, if you’re playing an older killer that’s easily looped the survivors always have the advantage over you in chases and you need them to make a mistake in order to capitalize. Hence why everyone wants to play killers like Spirit.

Personally I’m at that point now where I’ve seen and done it all, been rank 1 many times, got all the perks, don’t need bloodpoints, beat some amazing teams. I now only play for kills and so I admit I facecamp shamelessly. I’m getting more 4ks than ever before and don’t need to worry so much about busted map design. So hey its not just the killers who aren’t having fun 😂

  • But did the survivors have fun?

  • It's intentional. They don't want you easily baiting it out lol they want the perk to stun you. It's one of the perks survivors find the most fun so of course its been buffed to being unavoidable.

  • I don't think you understand the game Tony, Head On is a survivor perk, survivor perks aren't meant to have counter play. Only killers and killers perks need bundles of counterplay.

To people saying bait it, that is not counterplay. You can sing and dance in front of that locker to try and get the survivor to make a mistake but it's on them, it's their mistake to make. There is no counterplay.

@Mastermind You still take the stun and they get distance and what if they're injured? then iron maiden does nothing

  • Coldwind, Ormond, Coldwind, Ormond, Coldwind, coldwind, ormond, haddonfield, ormond, haddonfield, crotus penn, ormond, coldwind, crotus penn, haddonfield, ormond, coldwind

When I play kliller that's how map offerings go. As survivor it's very rare to see a killer use a map offering, lerys wraith or meat plant doc are very rare.

It is easier to change gens speeds than rework all the maps.

People don't want to wait 2-3 years for all the maps to be fixed.

They aren't ever going to fix the maps, they have no intention of fixing the maps, I don't understand why people keep assuming this. They've let Haddonfield alone for years now and they've touched Badham twice and it's still absolutely dire for killer, if they had any intention of balancing maps or making them fun to play they would have done so already.

Hell looking at what they've done putting breakable walls, god windows and now god pallets all over the reworked map it's safe to say they're actively trying to make maps worse than before.

  • I hit something the other day apparently but I was nowhere near it. I think it was a tree on sheltered woods.

  • @Terro said:

This video just shows how dbd used to be. U go to pallet. U wait until killer gets close. You put down pallet. Go to next pallet. Repeat.

Used to be? they're bringing the good times back!

  • Claudette by far. She's annoying to play with as a killer and a survivor.

  • I still think OoO against Freddy is the worst game design I've ever seen. There's literally nothing he can do, they have wallhacks at every jungle gym and it completely breaks the game.

In b4 "be psychic and bring blindness add ons if you know you're playing against an Object"

  • Even when you get better at the game it's still not much better due to being balanced for rank 20's. The chases are shorter but the gens just as fast.

  • I like to rush the gens in 3 minutes so that I can get back to playing lobby simulator for the next 5-10 minutes.

  • A better question would be, what's right with teabagging? it offers you no benefit so why do you need to do it? other than trying to annoy someone else.

  • I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall while they were designing this map.

  • Yeah the maps are getting really bad. I don't know why some buildings need 3-4 breakable walls, cap it at 2 for crying out loud.

Nothing like getting tunneled and camped for using head on a killer amirite?

The worst part is you know it's coming but still get hit with it anyway. My rule is I allow it once, the second time it's a tunnel.

  • Its green maps or yellow toolboxes for me

Uhm ok?? Deathslinger has a very quiet terror radius, is very forgiving because he can reload in a chase without going to a locker, he only needs one hit to damage or down a survivor, he has built in slowdown and a crosshair. Whereas trickster has to hit you 8 freaking times to do anything and yo have to commit to a chase because survivors lose knive stacks over time. Slinger can stop looping survivors because when survivor are speared they are stunned and can't drop pallets. He is WAY better than trickster in ANY way.

Trickster vs Deathslinger is basically a machine gun vs a bolt action rifle. Each one will have its advantage and disadvantages in a given scenario. Also Tricker can down survivors at loops that deathslinger and even Huntress can only ever dream of.

  • This is why the game is mostly swf now. I personally quit playing solo for this very reason. I found that I was sweating so hard everygame because I was having to carry a team and yet it was loss after loss after loss. I know some people say its about pips but when I have to put in so much blood, sweat and tears in every game I’d like to have an escape every now or then ya know?

It wasnt even about the rainbow ranks, the rank reset changes completely changed red ranks over night and you can see which survivors only got there by sprint burst and bad map design. When they didn’t have a god window to run to they went down like a sack of potatoes. Plus the hatch changes ensured that if your team died you were done for too. The only reason to play survivor was with BT and WGLF and just farm points but at that point you might as well just stick with killer for more BP.

  • I don’t think he’s OP at the highest level of play but I do think he’s perhaps too easy to use. I don’t play survivor much anymore but when I did I noticed most games against new Doc were a loss, it feels like if your team aren’t (genuine) red ranks then you’re looking at 4k with 4-5 gens remaining. What people say about Freddy and Spirit, in my experience it’s Doc that is the easy to play pick up and win killer. For some reason survivors other than the pros just dont know how to play against him.

  • I agree, maybe I’m bias because I dislike Legion but I think he looks stupid and arguably a worse design than Trickster.

  • I’d definitely take Trickster over Deathslinger. As for Huntress, she’s better but requires many more hours of practise to “git gud” with.

  • @Nos37 said:

Oh, but make sure that you don't disconnect from the match! The devs don't want you ruining the hacker's "fun," and will penalize you for dodging them

This. This is the absolute worst thing about it. Coincidentally the number of people hacking seemed to jump the moment they put disconnect penalties into the game. Probably because people could no longer disconnect and ruin their fun.

How Behaviour have sat and done nothing and said nothing for about a year now in regards to all the hacking baffles me

  • How does Spirit not have any penalties for missing? If she comes out of phases and misses you then get enough distance to make it to a pallet or window and she gets a fat cooldown. It’s plenty punishing and this is how Spirits get run for so long because while her power is on cooldown she’s an m1 110% killer.

I don’t care if Nurse is harder to master. None of that matters when you go against one. Nurse is the only killer in the game that is complete bs and she’s the one that needs a total rework because SHE is the one with no actual counterplay. Spirit is a kitten in comparison.

I’ll take Stridor Spirit over a Nurse that sligs at 5 gens anyday.

  • The bigger problems are the recent map reworks. It's like they don't want you to play the m1 killers anymore.

Oh and lmfao at Demo being called very strong.

  • Remember when Deathslinger was on the ptb and people said he was bad at loops and couldn't get survivors down? then it turned to deathslinger OP no counterplay.

In general Trickster is better at more loops than Deathslinger. Huntress is still the strongest but I feel like if she came out on the ptb today people would also say she's easy to loop as they struggled to get to grips with her.

  • @Volfgang57 said:

Play Killer. Wait times are almost non-existent there

lol, be reasonable you can't expect anyone to actually play killer.

  • That video doesn't cover the half of it. You won't believe the loops he can get you at. Anything with a slight opening knives go through as well. Wait until Scott realizes and puts out a video and then everyone will parrot it.

I feel like they should give the knives a slightly larger hitbox maybe to stop them hitting survivors at every loop, and in return make them aim better because there's very little accuracy to them.

  • Legion is just a group of edgelord teenagers with stupid cheap masks yet everybody loves them. People need to stop hating.

  • It's literally a third health state but ok.

  • I don't understand how people can say he doesn't look intimidating or looks stupid when Legion exists. Yeah I said it, come at me Legion fangirls. Screw Legion and his stupid chicken prance.

  • @Mandy said:

If you have deuteranopia, yes you were mostly likely not seeing the scratchmarks they way they should have been seen before, for example people with that type of colour blindness will really struggle to see red on dark backgrounds in particular - it can all look like a muddy brown, so with that particular filter turned on it should be viewable the way it's designed to be seen.

Thanks for that. I've been experimenting with blood too, not sure if that has been touched but it looks easier to spot? I didn't have any swamp offerings sadly to see how the scratchmarks look on muddy textures but they are far clearer on autohaven and ormond. This is definitely the best feature of the PTB in my opinion.

  • He has very little counter, less than Spirit and Deathslinger easilly. It's funny to see everyone here ripping on him, wait till Scott Jund realizes and puts out a video and then you'll all be parroting it.

  • Sometimes it’s the auto-aim....sorry the “aim dressing” that makes killers miss. You can feel it pull you to where survivors were a second before. Theres an explanation about the survivor hitbox not being on their character mode when turning but I don’t know how true this is.

  • Which killers? The only killer that can ever be OP is Nurse but it’s rare to come across good Nurses.

Spirit and Freddy etc are only called op by survivor mains or people who got carried to red ranks by bad map design and second chance perks.

  • It’s a hazing for new killers brought into thr fog. Survivors need to assert dominance and show who’s boss.

  • Yeah this is completely unfair and it sucks as some killers slug to avoid hatch too. So you wait 10 mins for a game, 2 survivors dc instantly, and then you’re expected to lay immobile on the ground for a further 2 minutes before you’re even allowed to search for a new game?

Its one of the reasons I stopped playing solo survivor. Which also stopped me from wanting to buy any cosmetics ever again so well done Behaviour

  • This is the design philosophy of the developers too. “You don’t need to win or get any hooks to have fun, just let the survivors tbag you at every pallet for 3 minutes then tbag you at the end and tell you to die of (insert disease) and if they all had a good time then everyones a winner!”

  • @Tsulan said:

It´s the killers desperate attempt to slowdown gens. As we don´t see any changes to the gen speed, i assume that slugging will also get a nerf in the near future. Then killers really won´t have anything to slowdown the match.

They’ve already nerfed it twice, the first being the 95% recovery everybody knows about, the second being the WGLF buff. I’d argue that perk is damn op now it makes slugging redundant and I’d argue it’s far more powerful than BBQ as a perk.

I think the game is in such a state now where if you arent against a team of potatoes then if you don’t slug you dont win.

  • So I got to try him in a live game and it was actually kinda fun but I had a map that was good for him. Low walls work.

Going against sweatlord crutch build p3 claudettes that hug walls on a map filled with high walls might not be so fun. We were playing a bit of kyf and I felt like I had to rely on m1 more.

Its really had to judge killers on ptb because I dont have the patience for the queue times.

One thing I do love as I said elsewhere is that pressing E to outplay doesnt outplay him so much which is great. No doubt that will change though because survivors wont like it, tapping E should disable his ability to throw knives or something.

The perks. I think the exhaustion perk will rise to be 2nd/3rd in popularity. Its a shame that they keep giving survivors exhaustion perks to carry them rather than have survivors take skill.

No way out actually seems like it’s going to be an incredibly boring perk that everyone hates if it becomes popular. Its the only time in the game where the killer has an objective but the survivors don’t. Every game on the ptb just becomes a case of hiding nearby until its not blocked anymore, but this is with like 1-2 hooks. At a full 40 seconds this is going to be boring.

That terror radius perk is annoying lol not overpowered just kind of annoying. I cant see it catching on though so it doesnt really matter.

I wont be buying him though. I refuse to support the game financially given the current direction it has been heading with map reworks (where maps are designed to carry survivors no skill required).

  • I don’t see the issue. DBD jumped the shark when everyone started running around in onesies, Dwelf, Willy wonka Ace, Mr Puddles. I dont think the chapter is that out of place now, 3 years ago yes but now eh whatver.

  • It’s bs and only exists for survivors to be toxic. If it’s one person you can make an example of them in game, if its a group maybe your game will crash on load screen and send them back to another 10 minute queue ya know?

  • Is this a joke? Regardless of the salt online, Spirit isn’t op and she doesn’t even come close to Nurse’s potential.

  • I actually found him kind of fun. I was really surprised. One survivor I know for a fact was decent because I went against them yesterday on the live servers, one was a potato. Not sure about the others. It would have been nice to test him further but these guys wanted a 3 minute gen rush and the endgame camp felt like it lasted longer than the main game. Handful of hooks all game, 3 kills at the end because they all wanted to play hero. BHVR will no doubt look at stats like that assume he's overperforming and give him a nerf after the ptb.

He felt kind of relaxing. There's no real pressure to aim a perfect shot like there is with Huntress or Deathslinger and I think that's the intention behind this guy, he's the less powerful but easier to play ranged killer. It's not too hard to get hits at some loops which is actually an advantage he has other huntress and slinger.

  • Does an entire chapter really need to focus on it? people already don't think KPOP belongs in a horror game.

Nobody is saying there can't be an lgbt character but an entire chapter focused on lgbt?
