Just like how killer totems are too strong without being revealed to the survivor? Oh wait, they aren't, and we need to equip perks so that we might find them. Gotcha.
You don't need perks to find totems, you only need a pair of eyes, ears and some logic ๐
Their spawns are so commen that you know where to look after only a few matches

@gatsby said:
Boon totems would simply be too strong if they werenโt revealed to the Killer, so my hunch is that they will be revealed to the Killer after a certain amount of seconds possibly based on their perceived power level.
Ex. A boon totem that mitigates generator regression might be revealed after 90 seconds. But a boon totem that deactivates a random hex without having to cleanse the specific totem for as long as it the boon stands might be revealed after 30 seconds.
Survivors:we want more secondary objectives.
BHVR: more objectives eh? ๐ค
Ok we can do that, we introduce boon totems so the killers have another objective ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
When you know jack sh1t about your own game, typical BHVR logic right there ๐

I don't know about you guys but all of my matches, both as survivor and killer, have been absolutely miserable. As Survivor I'm constantly going up against the same Killers (Not really any spirits, blights, or nurses surprisingly) using the same builds and using the same techniques, mainly just tunneling, camping, and slugging meaning I have to be forced to use extremely sweaty and unfun perk builds (DS, UB, BT, etc) or else have an extremely frustrating game. Doesn't help that MMR is constantly pairing me up with either selfish or clueless teammates that end up getting me or the whole team killed.
On the Killer side if I'm playing a Killer without any mobility then I'll have to be forced to just hold W for most of the match. If I play a Killer with a weak 1v1 then I'll get looped for a while, and if I play my main Blight then I'll have to deal with extremely strong teams which I don't have too much of a problem with EXCEPT for the fact that there are so many things he slides off of that they can singe handedly cost me a kill or a ton of time. Haven't even mentioned that before MMR I could play much more relaxed and not have to tunnel/camp/slug and use all meta perks but now with SBMM I have to use sweaty perks and sweaty playstyles leading to even less fun for both me and the survivors.
SBMM should not be a thing until the game is a much more balanced and less buggy state.
As a survivor i get paired with more competent survivors, tho there are some selfish survivors who try to be the last remaining and escape by the hatch without barely doing anything.
As killer all my games so far are a sweatfest, gens popping left and right without being able to stop them most of the time.
Before the sbmm the matches were variable, 1 match it was a sweatfest, another was close but fun and sometimes i would go against complete noobs.
Now for 99% of my matches there isn't any fun in it anymore and matches last for about 7 minutes before the gates are opened.
So I'm kinda done with killer atm

@Hippie said:
I think the question is, what is a fair match to you? I'm pretty sure they intended the game to be balanced around 2k + 2 escape and I've honestly been seeing that in many of my games, be it Killer or Survivor. Teammate skill levels (for me) are currently a little better than before the new MMR as well.
I wish i had your matches then.
My games as killer are just about 7 minutes before the gens are done and gates are opened.
2 survivors on a gen and i push them off hit 1 only a few meters away, turn around and the other survivor is back on it.
Push him of and hit him and the injured survivor is in the meantime already back on it.
That's just an example of most of my matches.
On a very very rare occasion i don't see prove thy self and resilience in a match.
But other than that, those are 2 commen perks i see together with toolboxes and many haddonsfield offerings.
Yay fun matches for me.
And before someone gives me pressure gens comments, i do so.

I mean, they confirmed that a Rework will happen in the upcoming year (which means - until the anniversary). And the Mori-Rework will most likely make them better, at least Keys and Moris should be reworked to something that you earn.
I guess the "recent" Mori-Nerf was just a bandaid, even tho I was fine with that one. For me, Moris can be weak, I dont really care about the animations and I am happy to not see 1-5 Moris every day.
Hahahaha yeah i don't have much fate and trust in what bhvr say.
I mean they confirmed a console optimization, yet till this day that hasn't happened.
Don't get me wrong, i play on ps5 and it's running at 60fps which is much better and it runs much smoother, they said they will push for 60fps on console but still ps4 is running at 30fps.
Just a small example of what they promised.
As for mori, i agree with you and with Tru3ta1ent that if you have 11 hooks, you can kill the last survivor as a reward for getting 12 hooks.
About keys, I've been calling it for even when they talked about a rework for it.
They should make it you get say 3 skill checks like ds before opening the hatch.
Failing 1 will result in your key being broken and that is what you left with.
Imo the best way to make these 2 things work well

Survivor: None.
BNP is probably the strongest, but in the end, it is not really that strong (like, 25% are not that much, considering that the Killer can reduce this amount multiple times each game by using PGTW) and it is basically the only strong thing left for Survivors when it comes to Toolboxes. Before the Toolbox-Nerf there were almost no complaints about BNPs, now people complain when it is the only thing left for Toolboxes which is somewhat good. But BNP did not become better, the rest just became #########.
Killer:
All-Seeing Blood (Wraith)
Tombstone Piece, Fragrant Tuft of Hair (Myers)
Mint Rag (Hag)
Tampered Timer (Pig)
Pinky Finger (Clown)
Mother-Daughter Ring (Spirit)
Black Incense (Plague)
Scalped Topknot (Oni)
Alchemists Ring (100%), Blighted Crow, Blighted Rat (maybe those two as well) (Blight)
Engineers Fang (Pinhead)
Are you sure keys will be reworked? ๐
I mean, were now about 1 year further down the line and there is still no change/rework, tho when they announced it the mori was changed in a week or so?
And still there was talk about changing mori even more because it was still "to toxic"
And during all that time i believe the only change they made to keys, is that it need at least 1 charge.
IF they ever gonna make a real rework for it, then my guess is that it will take another 1 or 2 years.
Sure everyone says it's more than just changing a number, but let's be honest sbmm is imo way more complex than changing keys.
Especially since they said they changed things from the old test sbmm and the current one.
My belief is they will never make a real rework and it's only to keep people quiet about it.

the two choices that you presented are terrible and it seems like you are defending bhvr's screwup. i literally stated that after the latest update this whole thing started to happen, meaning BEFORE the update, i had no issues whatsoever. my connection is stable for all games except for dbd now. thank lord i didnt buy all the chapters, game keeps getting worse every update. again, you are lucky that it did not affect you.
If you know it is terrible atm for you on dbd then why play it when you know you will get disconnected and get a penalty?
It destroys your fun and get annoyed by it, but that goes for the 4 other people in the match as well.
Why not play a different game in the meantime while they're fixing the problem?
Yes i know you like this game very much, but is the frustration worth it and for the people in the match when you get disconnected again and again and again, etc?
Also i wasn't only talking about you, i was taking in general and there are many people with terrible internet.
Secondly, i agree with bhvr very, very, very, very, very rarely.
So no i never defend them when they screw up, which they do a lot.
Again this isn't only about you, I'm taking in general โ๏ธ

stop assuming dcs are intentional please, if you havent had any disconnect issues, then you're one of the lucky ones. server im playing is based in asia and i've gathered up to 1 hour ban because of the latest update causing me to randomly dc..
You should read a little bit further before saying something ๐
I also said, if it is indeed the internet connection then you got 2 choices.
1 stop playing online games with penalties.
2 jeep playing online games with penalties and accept them without crying about it.
If you know your connection is not stable and it keeps kicking you out of the matches but you decide to continue to try, then you should accept the penalty that comes with it as well.
It is impossible to check for this game (and every other game) if you disconnect on purpose or that it is a internet issue.
You can fake a "accidental" easily when it not goes your way which the system can't know.
Therefore you will always get a penalty for a dc, no matter it was your fault or not.
I'm not assuming anything here mate, I'm just asking it.
Because everyone can say it is not their fault even thought they do dc on purpose.
-
@babydemoboi said:
and yes.. it is the internet. it says No network connection. ive only actually dc'd twice. I know. sounds unbelieveable. but once was when my brother played a match on my account without asking and the 2nd time was when i was doing so bad. 1 hook and the gates were opened.
Sorry but i find that hard to believe that you get a 6hr ban for 2 times dc'ing and some internet issues.
Like i said you had to leave the match early many times to get a 6hr ban.
And if that was indeed you're connection all the time, than that is up to you to fix that or don't play online how harsh it may sound.
To game can check whether your internet has issues or if you dc on purpose.
So in every game you will get punished 1 way or another for leaving the match early, whether it be on purpose or by yourself.
Therefore they can only give a time ban when someone leaves early because it is impossible to check if it was a connection error or not.
So if your internet is the problem then it is up to you to solve that problem, or just avoid online in general.
I know it sounds harsh tho, but that is the reality to it.
-
@babydemoboi said:
i have been getting disconnected from my internet which isn't the bad part. the problem is the penalty. it bans me for 6 hours cuz my internet decides to take a fat dump while my game is still going.
Well then you should have had many, many dc to get a 6hr ban.
You sure it was really your internet connection mate?
Also if you have terrible internet connection, then maybe you should be looking at fixing that first or don't play 9nline games if you don't want to suffer the consequences

Power struggle is just a meme perk.

First time using the forums in a while, but I wanted to bring attention to the devs a new way of playing Pinhead that was used against me and my friends. Keep in mind that while we aren't diehard survivor mains, we all probably come out to around 500 hours on survivor each, so we're not shabby.
The idea of the build is for Pinhead to run Hoarder and Franklin's Demise, along with addons that make the Lament Configuration take longer to solve. He plays the game like normal until he finds the survivor with the box using hoarder, then interrupts them from solving it using his addons and possessed chains. He will NOT teleport to it, which would cause the box to disappear. After interrupting the survivor, he hits them with franklin's, making them drop the box and allowing him to pick it up. He forcibly starts a chain hunt, then downs the survivor. The newly-started chain hunt FORCES the other players into picking up the box. Pinhead then goes to that survivor and begins the process anew. For good measure, he can also bring ruin and undying.
The problem with this build is that once pinhead gets a chain hunt going, survivors can no longer solve the box. Once they pick it up, chains will interrupt the solving process, giving Pinhead plenty of time to come over. Then he can just force survivors into multiple chain hunts over and over, until the game ends. I normally wouldn't post about a build that bothered me, but this felt like a special case. Usually when I lose to a gimmicky build as survivor, I understand that it was our fault for misplaying the situation. However, this build felt OPPRESSIVELY good; like, to the point where there was genuinely nothing we could do.
We couldn't do gens, we couldn't do totems, we couldn't heal. The chain hunts only ended when another survivor picked up the box, which would only last about 20 seconds before Pinhead was on top of them ready to start another hunt. I don't know how the devs could tweak this, but this build is something that should potentially be looked at. Maybe we just didn't have the right tools, or maybe it was a bad map for us (it wasn't, it was Crotus Prenn Asylum, which would've made him walk FAR to stop the box), but it was the first time a game of DBD has felt genuinely unwinnable. And mind you I have over 1200 hours so I've seen my fair share of bad situations.
You know the pinhead has hoarder and yet you immediately try to solve the box ๐ค
Play smarter.
Pick up the box, walk to a locker and hide in it.
No chains will spawn while you're in the locker and no chains will spawn on the other survivors.
Waste his time searching for you and big change he doesn't check the lockers.
Wait till he's gone and run as far away as possible and then solve the box.
Small chances that he will be there in time to pick it from you.
He has no have to chose to ignore you or teleport to you.
Another option is to wait till he picks up a downed survivor and then solve the box.
There easy counters that works almost every time, at least they work for me.

There is always some kind of counter play, but chances of all 4 survivors using same counter play are slim. It is what separates good from great survivors/killers.
I know, i just gave an example of counterplay against him.
And sure you're not always be able to do that, but then it's up to the survivors to let the person who is the better in looping to go for the box.
Or run in pairs to waste more time by taking the hit for the carrier.
He's only just fully released and people are still working out what to do against him and what's the best way to do deal with the box.
Give it time and you will see more people start using the same plays against him.

@Terrortot said:

Disagree. Hoarder alert means I can start making my way to an oblivious survivor and franklin the box before its solved. Injured/dying survivor plus chain hunt is painful and effective. Working on gens during a chain hunt is the most annoying gameplay I have seen yet.
๐๐๐
Play it smarter.
No one is telling you that you need to solve it immediately.
Remember once the box is picked up, they carrier gets the chain hunt while the rest is chain free.
If you have an idea pinhead is using hoarder, than simply pick it up walk to a locker and hide.
No chains will spawn for you and you waste his time searching for you.
And most likely he will not even check the lockers either.
Done that multiple times now and got away with it easily.
Wait till he's gone, get out and run towards the other side and solve it.
There problem solved ๐

It's a huge deal real interesting Behavior kinda crazy, this is now an issue whenย MMRย is on, but when the Bloodpoint and Emblem system was out, yall were spouting Gen times were fine. Now that MMR is on and people are sweating it's showcasing the true horrible unbalance now.
Let me take a wild guess you've seen how miserable Killer players including myself are with gens speed and now you've finally decided to admit you've been wrong for years but not in the way you should have this should have been said in a Developer Update no disrespect to the interviewers but this should have been stated in a Developer update.
Also don't even get me started on theย MMRย beingย hiddenย question and what's this nonsense about grades being a sense of "skill" didn't you guys openly say grades and MMR are not connected, so how are grades in any way shape or form going to be an indicator for Skill. Grades are just as useless as Devotion the only difference is at least we're rewarded for grades Devotion still pointless.
Lastly, respectively, the factย It'sย taken you guys this long to even bat an eye at gen speeds is concerning, it truly is, and with boon totems right around the corner, a lot of us are truly worried for the longevity of Dead by Daylight.
Bhvr self doesn't know what they're doing.
Take the so called balancing issue they were always going for.
They always wanted to balance around the casual playerbase and didn't give a rats ass about the top percent.
Now all of a sudden they talk about using the data from the top 5% to balance.
It's just stupid they forcing balance around the casual playerbase and making changes to god knows what has been changed during those 5 years.
And now all of a sudden they go the opposite way making imo a lot of changes that has been made obsolete.
But yeah bhvr does what they're good at, and that is not knowing what they want

That's how mmr works, you can get matched with killers that just are better than you and also that are weaker than you.
If you lose to a killer that is weaker than you, then you lose a lot of mmr and he gain more, and visa versa.
The reason you lost a couple of times now could just mean that you got a few killers that were maybe lower than you, but were just climbing the mmr ladder and on skill level should be higher than you but might not have played them much

Unless bhvr decide to make the score for the player self public, we have unfortunately nothing to go by.
It could be that the killer you played as last night, has had many wins in the past.
They have collected data for months and months now before the made sbmm live.
Each killer has their own mmr so it differ from killer to killer.
All i wish was that they made the mmr public to the player itself

You will only be match determined by your mmr/sbmm, so you could even be match against a rank/grade 1 iridescent killer while being a grad 4 ash survivor.
The only thing is that bhvr has decided to hide the mmr/sbmm score, so there is no telling if your score is higher or lower than the people you play with and against.

Just a little heads up.
Ranks or grades or whatever (same S different name) doesn't mean anything now anymore.
You have sbmm behind all that which determines with who you get paired and against how good of a killer you go.
The better you play, the more difficult killers you face and the better survivors you get paired with.

So to make things clear, there are people who are competitive no matter what game.
And even if it's a game made around the casual playerbase, there is a ranking system and mmr involved.
So in a way they made it competitive by implementing that, and me and many others would love to know what our own score is.
Some people don't care and that is something i respect.
But i always find it a bit scetchy if the mmr/elo is hidden.
Take rainbow six siege for example, after each match it shows you your own score and how much you earned/lost.
So why should it stay a secret in dead by Daylight?
There is nothing to abuse with knowing your own score.
Like others have mentioned here already, if they want to abuse it then they will do whatever they were doing prior to sbmm.
Afking for losing some mmr/elo and farming to gain, so there hasn't changed that much on that part.
Anyway, i really hope a dev could answer this and clear this up.

Hahahaha don't count on that.
I'm not picking sides with saying this although it does look like it, but the only time they change something is when survivors whine about stuff.
Don't get me wrong as i play both sides, but survivors bring in the most money and thus they will change something faster what survivors don't like than the other way around.

Nope: The first version of SBMM only used kills and escapes to calculate your rating, but it did not work out so it was quickly scrapped. The current system takes a number of different factors into account when deciding when your rating should go up or down (and by extension, by how much).
Basically, the way it's calculated is complex, and the goal is to have you "win" in about half your matches.
Will we ever be able to see what our mmr/sbmm score is, like in other games with similar systems?
Doesn't have to be shown for everyone but just for the person itself.

As someone who plays both sides off the game, i never use noed because i personally don't like the perk.
But no matter the rank, it's a legitimate perk to choose.
It's an end game perk which might not even activates after all gens got done.
As a solo survivor I'm doing what i can to make sure it doesn't activates.
How?
Well very simple, i just do bones.
It's that easy and i don't even use any perks or items for it either.
Sure there are times 1 gets missed but 99% of the time it still gets cleansed eventually.
And still i have time to run the killer, do gens, unhook survivors and heal either myself or other survivors.
And all that as rank 1 and still get to pip, so I don't get what all this fuss is about?
I don't understand why people are calling for side objectives for a few years now if you can't even do this side objective ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
There are so many ways to get this side objective done easily, but it's you who chose not to do so.
If you have problems with totem spawns, there are multiple ways to deal with it, so use it instead of complaining about a side objective.
And the argument that the killer didn't earn it doesn't really stand in most cases either, some are truly bad tho, cause failing to do bones gives the killer the perk and thus earned.
And you can even classify it as a 2nd chance perk, of which survivors have many that the killer has to deal with ๐
So stop complaining about something you can choose to or not to let it activate. โ๏ธ
-
@Bran said:
if a killer can't down and hook you guys before the 5th gen, why can they do it with only a speed boost (that i keep forgetting it has) and an insta down?
in my opinion noed even when it activates is minimum use and is only empowered by altruism and the refusal to instantly open the gate and escape leaving one behind to die. sometimes that's easier said than done, but it can still be done.
Well tbh, the first priority is to do bones.
But i agree there can be times where 1 totem is overlooked and NOED than still exists.
But even then you can search for it and destroy it, as most of the time the killer won't leave the hook.
You can also decide to buy more time if the time for the hooked survivor is running out by hook trading.
Giving more time to find the lit totem.
That is if it isn't next to the killer tho.
When i play as survivor, always solo btw, it is very rare that NOED activates.
And if it does then i will do whatever i can to find it before going for the unhooked.
If all fails or the totem is next to the killer and the hook, than i usually sacrifice myself to get the rest out.

I appreciate you being polite about it. Most people who defend the Wraith do so in a way that's aggressive and condescending. "He's fine". "He's fine, he's fine, he's fine. He's C tier at best. You just need to get better". It's not even me that people usually say this to because to be honest I've almost given up even trying to explain to anybody why the Wraith is a profound annoyance.
I get that every killer needs to be challenging to some extent, and that yes, certain gameplay elements will make those killers easier to handle, Wraith included. I just think that - for some reason - while so many people endlessly discuss things like what can be done about Spirit and whether Leatherface is too cheap, there seems to be segment of this forum (and therefore the fanbase in general) that's devoted to defending The Wraith at all costs. It seems that a lot of it comes from the fact that he was apparently seen as the weakest killer in the game for years, or at least that's a claim I've seen. I honestly don't understand how that's even possible given his abilities, but fair enough, people are happy to see him become more viable. But I think that - like the Trickster - instead of the character being given much of a serious inspection the developers basically just did a surface pass, saying "okay let's make this faster, turn this thing off, and...yeah alright, he's better now".
All killers can get a free hit if you're just not paying attention, don't have enough sense to use your surroundings, etc. I understand that part. But Wraith has a much easier time of getting that free hit. There are countless situations where the Wraith can come near, the player won't be able to detect him, and he can uncloak nearby and zoom into view for the smack. At that point it's pretty much over, window or otherwise. All he has to do is cloak again and catch up to you whenever he feels like it. He can even turn invisible, stick around a nearby corner and wait 20 seconds for the person to stop running and looping, then rush up, uncloak, and get the down then.
I guess what I'm saying is this: There's very little actual counterplay (or even warning) against a character that's only visible when they're close enough to hit you, can move at a profoundly greater speed than you can, doesn't have any sight or sound penalties while invisible, is faster at lunging out of cloak than survivors are at running speed, AND can do all of this without even needing to use his bell anymore, which I assumed was the one thing that they gave the character to balance out all the rest of these tactics. The character just has too many things going for him, a combination of too many advantages. Bubba is slow but he has an insta-down saw. Huntress is of average speed but she's got crazy hatchets. Several characters can teleport and not much else. Wraith has invisibility, super speed, a fast lunge out of cloak, a lunge that's way faster and covers more ground than any other character, AND silence. That's just too much to me. No player should have to stock up on a Wraith defense kit or pray that gens are near windows and strong loops just to have an adequate chance against one specific killer out of two dozen. Do you get where I'm coming from?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2455425#Comment_2455425
No, I actually didn't used to have any unique feelings about facing Wraith just like I still don't have any unique feelings about facing roughly 75% of the roster. Sometimes I'd win, sometimes I'd lose, and - at the time at least - I didn't have the issue of most Wraith players camping while invisible. In other words he felt like just another killer, no better or worse than most of the others. He felt as fair and balanced as many of the other killers.
What suddenly changed wasn't even popular opinion or any kind of announcement (I don't follow social media so I usually don't know about changes unless I read about them here), it was a match against him when he wasn't using the bell. It totally threw me, I actually really liked the concept of the character having these huge crazy paranormal advantages yet all of them being totally balanced by the guy having to almost literally stand still and bang his bell to let you know that he was coming. In this match, that wasn't happening. I was running around the Red Forest, wondering why I hadn't seen or heard the killer in a couple of minutes, then suddenly I see him uncloak out of the corner of my eye and BOOM, he flies over and hits me. I was utterly confused. Where was the bell?
My only reasonable assumption, based on the speed of his lunge and the fact that he managed to play the entire match in total silence, thus negating virtually all natural defenses that survivors of this game are given, was that someone was hacking him. Nope, I then come to find out that eliminating his bell, nullifying the terror radius and turning his lunge attack into a super power was all intentional. I hated it. Sure enough, there's been a massive uptick in Wraith players since then, as well as an equal uptick in the amount of players who abuse his abilities (which is so easy to do I simply won't believe anyone who tries to claim that any other killer is easier to play cheap with). It rapidly escalated to the point that I utterly despise playing any match with him. I mean I truly hate it. I'd rather play ten Spirits in a row that one Wraith. A Wraith game isn't challenging, a Wraith game isn't fun. A Wraith game is spending the entire match in constant anxiety, wondering when he's going to suddenly show up next to you and end your game. I honestly don't even like playing as Wraith anymore because it's too easy, too cheap, and I legitimately feel bad for the survivors (many of whom still DC whenever I reveal myself).
This isn't just me and a handful of other people just being too inexperienced or not playing right. While I admit that such an element can and sometimes does play a factor, the fact is that the killer was given a lazy buff pass without any apparent regard to balance. My condolences go to anyone who felt that he was somehow in any way too worthless to ever bother using. But now the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction, and instead of celebrating that, I think that people need to be a bit more reasonable in understanding why this is a problem.
Well as someone who played wraith for god knows how many hours, even before his slight buff.
I got to say, i don't see the problem.
Surely you must have faced wraiths with those add ons before his buff right?
Cause this isn't anything new and been around for years.
You might see it more now because people don't use windstorm that much anymore, btw something i have never used tho.
And i still enjoy facing him and giving him a hard time as well as playing him.
The reason many people all of a sudden start complaining about him is because he became more viable than before.
For me personally it never changed anything as i still dominated most of my games as him like before his buff.
Now people start playing more as him because they can use many different add ons than the thought they could.
But none of them are actually to strong as they can easily be countered just my using eyes and ears.
This is a game i had before his buff and wasn't even playing seriously at all.
And even this combination was called OP by them and many others ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ

No killer should require a litany of failsafes just to counter them. No one should HAVE to use Spine Chill, and play with headphones, and always have a flashlight, and carry around portable windows, and somehow make generators spawn next to specific tiles, and never find themselves having to leave cover or cross a deadzone, and be spinning the camera 360 degrees through the whole match (while also trying to somehow focus on gens and everything else) in order to stand a chance (while also ignoring any teammate who gets hooked as well). I can't think of any other killer in this game that's given the free pass that Wraith gets. No other killer that everyone just waves off with "It's not his fault that he's cheap, it's the player's fault that they don't understand how to defend against a killer that can turn invisible and shoot through the map at 150 percent silently and get free hits at will". I'm not trying to target all of this toward you, I'm just sick of The Wraith Defense altogether. "He's not super cheap, he's somewhere between perfect and terrible. Survivors are just easily confused and helpless".
The Wraith has basically the same ability as Spirit but with no cooldown and none of her hindrances. I honestly don't understand how people can so casually defend that as not even slightly problematic.
An honest question.
Did you also have issues with wraith before his buff?

@Mandy said:
No it's not about tunnelling it's about targeting an individual constantly and only that individual over the course of different matches.
Hahaha i should have thought about this when i got matched with 3 swf on 4 different matches, not in a row but in total.
They menaged to ruin 1 game for me tho, but the other 3 matches they tried hard to do the same but failed miserably.
Should have thought of this rule back then but totally forgot about it. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ

So I need to grab someone for a challenge and ran the add on that made the bell silent and the BROWN add on that makes you have no TR or red stain for 6 seconds after uncloaking and I just destroyed everyone no one knew how to react or where I was coming from or if I was. This combo seems a little strong to have a common in it
Then they might have been deaf AF.
1 you can hear his snarl (or whatever you call it) when he's close.
2 you can still hear him uncloak.
It makes a sound a little bit similar to a hex totem for example.
If you pay attention to that than you already got some advantage and you can be gone before he uncloaks or be at a safe loop.
Also pay attention to his shimmering cause most of the time they do come in a straight line at you.
Only a good wraith will still use obstacles to sneak up on you.
I've played against wraiths with those add ons and absolutely had 0 trouble with him.
If survivors are a bit aware of him then wraith will have a hard time with them.
At least that is my experience

Do you still try even if it is most likely pointless, completely give up or something else?
I know it depends on situation and that you can also be wrong.
Most of the time I still try but at the end I feel like I wasted a lot of energy on lost cause, because depips also happen anyway.
What do you do?
I will always try no matter how grim the situation.
If it looks very bad then i will try and being chased for as long as possible.
If lucky my team knows how to do gens and who knows, maybe we're able to get out that way.

As I've stated on numerous threads, particularly the long thread we have here on the forums with regards to console optimisation...this is still work in progress for us and the team is working on fixing the issues that Consoles are currently facing, especially those hitches when things like Dead Hard is being used. This is an ongoing process.
Wouldn't it have been a better to not announced it 3 years ago that you guys were working on it in the first place?
Why announce something everyone would be thrilled about and not even have the basics done, cause you can't tell me that this optimization s#*t takes more than 3 years to complete?
Let's be honest if anything was actually done and not dropped without letting us know (and even you know this is true but aren't allowed to acknowledge it) it would already been implemented.
The problem i see with bhvr more and more as the years go by are empty promises.
The only thing they actually care about is $$$$$
Cause i remember a dev member saying you guys have grown so big that you guys don't need a QOL chapter.
I can understand that as it gives you even more $$$$$
But every time you release an new DLC there are a s#*t load of bugs with it making the game very unfun and sometimes even unplayable.
So maybe just do as promised and don't give us empty promises.
You can't hide behind the indie dev label anymore since you guys have grown very big over the years.
So a console optimization should easily be possible now this year as it's been already 3+ years in the making.
So stick to your words or don't promise anything

Lol I only play online games but DBD is the only game where being toxic is rewarded. In an FPS being toxic is neither rewarded, or punished and its only up to the individual player to see whos better yeah you'll get a tea bag but you can still come back from it. In DBD you can't come back if you're a new killer because you're FORCED to play in a high rank competitive environment.
Wait what?
How are you unable to come back from toxic behaviour in dbd but you are in other online games?
Being toxic in dbd has the same amount of weight as in any other online games.
The fact you think you can come back from it in other games is because you are letting it get to you in dbd.
Toxicity isn't rewarded in dbd nor any other game.
It only shows the nature of the player behind the character and nothing more.
I can't see how toxicity in dbd is rewarded in the first place? ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ

Idc about losing its about the constant bullying people do the second they realize you're not the best at said killer or barely getting the hang of things. Also it doesn't ruin the game as survivor they still get a win and I've never actually heard of a survivor complaining a killer DC'd most of the time they just take it as a pride or ego boost and move on.
Like i said before multiplayer games might not ve your cup of tea.
If you let bullying get to you than you might want to stick to single player games tbh.
I have many games where I'm getting t bagged, flashlight clicking, etc.
But that doesn't get to me because i will get them eventually, if not than I'm fine with that too.
It depends on what you call a win.
As a survivor I don't care about escaping.
If i could help my team and die and still pip, than that is a win for me.
This games doesn't have a clear win/lose mechanic.
Everyone makes up their own win or lose.
Beside if you dc because they try to bully you then you give them a double win because they got what they wanted.
If those in-game mechanics (t bagging, flashlight clicking, etc) are getting to you than try something else for a time.
Try again after a week or a bit longer and maybe you will look differently towards it.

Thats the problem is with match making the way it is you can't just 'move on and forget about it' you're kinda forced to play with high rank survivors even if you're just barely learning a killer. This is why survivor queue times are so high is because no one can just practice a killer or have fun because in higher ranks you're FORCED into a competitive sweaty environment.
You choose to play a multiplayer game by yourself don't you?
Than you know the risk that comes with it.
You play a new killer?
Than you can expect to lose some games before you get the hang of them.
It doesn't give you the right to ruin the game for 4 people just because it doesn't go your way.
Do you think i sometimes enjoy the games when i play a new killer?
No, but i use those games a practice.
The survivors don't care about that?
Fine by me, it still doesn't stop me from trying.
I've had games as a killer who i play a lot that were really really difficult and only got 1k out of it.
Did i dc?
Nope i just tried whatever i could to turn it around.
Some games it goes your way sometimes they don't, that's the risk of multiplayer games, just suck it up and deal with it.
If you can't than sorry but then multiplayer games aren't your cup of tea ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ

This is a video of me getting rob of my Hits 2 times because Felix had 88ms vs me as a Killer with 50ms.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C5QBAAA5Q9DA/image.png
I can clearly accept the chainsaw being invalidated but Cmon! My M1 hit first!
I had 50ms on the lobby screen and when I checked the Felix's ping he was 88ms. I thought the one with better ping would win but this... in my case just look favorable to survivors.
That is very easy.
The hit validation only works for the person who has the worst ping.
I've been robbed from many hots when i played against 200+ ping survivors, 1 of them even went up to above 900 ping.
I've been hugging them before i went for the hit but hit never registered.
So imagine the fun game i had against them.
After all that time they still don't see that they have it the other way around as how it supposed to be.

@kate_best_girl said:
I get it for survivors but not killer. Like idk if you're being relentlessly bullied and punished for bringing a fun build or trying a new killer you should be allowed to leave and go to the next game.
Because it will be abused.
Oh I don't like this map so I'll dc.
The gens go to fast so I'll dc.
The survivors are better than i thought so I'll dc.
And there are multiple options as how it can be abused.
If a survivor dc they ruin the game for 4 people.
If a killer dc they also ruin the game for 4 people.
You can't just put a dc on one side and not on the other, just because some games don't go the way you want or hoped for.
Just play out the match and move on and forget about that one if it wasn't that fun.

To keep the inventory UI/switching inputs simple. We considered seperate ammo, but it wasn't worth the added complexity. The first design had 3 bottle types. :D
That's why it sometimes doesn't hurt to listen to your community.
As many other on this post as well as on the forums already said, a shared ammo for the bottles doesn't make sense.
Yes it is easier with reload, but that's the only thing positive about it.
It makes no sense to cross a big map like mothers from 1 side to the other with the speed bottles.
Cause by the time you crossed it and caught up with the survivors you'd be lucky if you have 1 pink bottle left to slow them down.
And if you have decent survivors, they won't waste time while you are reloading for new either.
I agree with the majority of the community that the best thing for clown, how inconvenient it might look for you guys, is to give the bottles their separate amount of ammo.
Throw it in the ptb and see whether or not people would like it or not.
That's what ptb are for, to test if it works and if they like it ๐
Try it, you might be surprised
