Its almost instant for me.

Honestly playing Nurse made me feel guilty this month. I don't play a lot and as of now I'm Gold II.
I'm a really good nurse so it felt bad stomping those rank 14s. Now I can finally feel good because the survivors I'm facing aren't too good or too bad.
I also had fun Nurse and Huntress matches lately.
Though I also may or may not have been cucked by the maps.
Nurse on Lery's
Huntress on Hawkins.
-
I haven't had complete pub stomps or complete annihilation on my end as Killer as well.
Most of them were mostly fair, yeah I made a few mistakes and I could've played better but it never felt bullshit or unfair if that makes sense.

I had faith in the SBMM system. BHVR said it worked perfectly. Fact is it doesn't work at all.
1st game as survivor : Terrible killer, hold him in chase like 2 to 3 minutes. Other survivors ? They didn't do anything, they felt down in 10 seconds. Game lost.
2nd game : killer was a camper/tunneler. Survivors ? They ended up all three on the hook at the same time cause they all died in less than 20 seconds around the 1st hooked guy. Could hold the killer 1 minute even though i had never played against the Pinhead, which has a trash design btw. Too much map control without skill required and of course framerate drops all the way with a high end computer.
Didn't they have prior datas to launch SBMM ? I mean i'm 1200+ hours in survivor, can hold a long time most killer mains in chases... Well no way it is working.
You came into a conclusion after just 2 games?
We knew it would take a bit longer for the matchmaking to set in.
If it's still like this after 20 games, then there is a problem.
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
I'm not mentioning this cuz I want to boast.
I'm LITERALLY baffled that all of these rounds were for "practice" and yet, I am "adept" at these killers now.
I think it's flawed as hell and no way should this be allowed. It's ridiculous.
It's the same with "Adept" survivor achievements.
You're not really "Adept" at it. Especially Survivors.
But at least with Adept Killers you need some level of understanding of their power to get it.
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha,
I have not had faith in the video game industry for years.
Let alone BHVR.
Fun fact: It could get worse, much worse. DBD as it is is a lot better than a various number of video game franchises out there. You could have a shitshow like Hitman 3, where most missions feels like filler and the story ended abruptly with no satisfactory payoff. And the game is a buggy awful mess, much more than DBD is.
Just learn to curb your expectations and not get too excited for anything. Things can always get worse. It's just a matter of finding the fun in it.
-
@not_Queef said:
If achievements held some value then maybe it would be a problem, but since they are completely pointless it kinda doesn't matter.
I mean, it does.
That's why people go for them. It may not have value to you, but to people who hunt for achievements for fun they definitely do.
It's one of those subjective things that depends on how you play the game.
Like how people who like to sweat thinks MMR will ruin the game :)
-
I think considering how bullshit Adepts can be and used to be, it's fine.
Personally I'm waiting for the reset to Grades so I can get Merciless Killer on Pinhead without much hassle.

That is not what I am saying, I am saying they should stated that the issue was one of licensing, rather than an issue with game files like they mentioned.
It is entirely possible they cannot say that because licensing is a #########. Especially for a horror franchise.
-
@Cerebral_Harlot said:

Then they should clarify that, to clear up this confusion. Even just change it to "issues with the voice lines used"
Assuming it IS licensing issues, they may be beholden to not say it is licensing issues.

No better example than new Freddy. His add ons might as well not exist
For real though, the only add-ons worth running on him are the various teleport add-ons. Anything else is crap.

I recommend editing that, censor system failed to censor ######### somehow
That's actually funny.
-
When something happens to a horror game or movie series, always assume it's legal.
[BAD WORD] legal up the ass.
-
Is this seriously something to complain about?
I get it with the crashes and the bugs and all that.
But seriously?
How the pallets look?
-
I like ranged Killers.
Purely because they are pure chase Killers.

@[Deleted User] said:
Yeah my performance on pc has been smoother than the last update i feel.
I think I might know why.
They removed some game elements like the fog in the offering screen and overall made the game run smoother.
I haven't had massive lag spikes but we'll see if that'll change.
-
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this was yet another nerf on poor Freddy.
BHVR found out they cannot fix it so they just throw their hands up into the air and say "It's a feature guys"
-
@The_BiggCheeze said:
Well we have Hex: Plaything with Cenobite, so maybe it's kind of a counter since the survivors would have to run around breaking totems and thus losing their Boon
Issue with that is Hex: Plaything means you cannot run any other hex perks that are probably worth running more than that.
-
Did I have fun?
Really that is my definition of a "win".
Even if I lost to a four man escape, if I had fun in the game, then it's still a win for me.
Even if I died in endgame due to NOED, if I had good chases before it, that's still a win.
I don't fuss about how to win too much. I just wanna have fun.
-
I hate to use Decisive Strike. And if I ever run it, it's because the survivor I am using only has a couple of good perks and that is one of it.
It's more annoying to use than anything since you never really get value. You have to FORCE value sometimes. It's very powerful, I don't deny that. But god ######### and damn it, it's a waste of a perk slot.
-
In theory, yes. I do think making pallets more fair to both sides is a good idea.
This implementation of it however is anything but a good idea.

The shiny red emblem, a steam achievement, and the knowledge you got there, with MMR you won’t even have that because the fake emblems quite literally don’t mean anything
You'll still get the shiny red emblem through pips.
-
I feel like that won't be the case after MMR.
Since I hope I'll be matched up with survivors who knows what the ######### they're doing.
-
@GannTM said:
I’ll play that game because if I end up winning then I will feel great.
This.
I had one game where I was playing as Nurse (I was rusty AF) and they brought keys, flashlights, BNP toolboxes, hatch offerings... You name it, they brought it.
And I absolutely creamed them in Torment Creek. It was so satisfying to get that W.
-
I feel like Deathslinger would intentionally go out of his way to murder one of the members of the Legion before taking on the rest.
Just as a warning for the complete ass kicking they're about to face.
-
My only issue with MMR is if BHVR doesn't take the data that is given and considered and turn it into something substantial.
Other than that, I am completely fine with some of your criticisms for it. Since I don't really play to escape or kill. I'll try to get those, but I'm not someone who sweats hard to get it.
And two, if there is no visible ranking, I'll have no incentive to sweat harder. But I understand the argument of whether or not the system is working properly if we can't see the ranking.
-
I literally faced a Claudette who thought she could hide in bushes in Haddonfield.
There is some merit to that stereotype.
-
I almost never fail to find Wraiths to be one of the sweatiest Killers to go up against.
I literally just played one where they contantly facecamped the basement everytime they get someone in there. Thankfully I got BT and got 2 people to escape.
Aside from that, Naked Bills tend to be very obviously new to the game.
-
I'd take ANYTHING over current swamp map.

Doesn't it apply only when you start to play a new killer? When you start to play a new killer your strating MMR will be based on the other MMRs you have, but after that it changes independently.
I thought it was made so you have general MMR that still allows you to get fair games even with killers you arent good at?
-

Where do you have this info from?
It was one of the devs saying it on this forum iirc.
But basically, you won't be just getting completely potato survivors since the basics of playing Killer still applies (which makes sense)
-
@Freddy96 said:
Everyone, playing killer with sbmm will give you the option to decide your match difficulty. Want an easy match? Choose a killer you're bad with
Just an FYI. You'll still have a global SBMM rating for the entire Killer roster. Just because you're bad at a certain killer doesn't mean you'll be facing complete potatoes.
-
Cannot wait to actually be able to get better at Pyramid Head or Hag without getting crushed in Red Ranks!
-
Personally I prefer challenges that you can do in one trial without it being too bullshit difficullt.
Like Blood Debt. ######### that challenge.
-
@Mr_K said:
Those types of challenges seem to take the longest for me to do.
Because they're mostly grinding.
-
Agreed.
I get 500k just by playing Killer for a session with BBQ and Survivor Pudding.
It's not much.
It needs to be a much bigger incentive. 1 Million BP seems fair enough, even if I think it's still rather low.
-
@MeltingPenguins said:
Ya know, seeing how many people that leave BMs at the door when playing say they had a good experience during the last test, while only those people throwing a tantrum over how unfair it is that bhvr won't just give them an iWin button... you might wanna rethink how you're playing this game when you are convinced it will be bad for everyone.
This.

i hate to break it to you, but they already know.
and they will not be buffing characters to be viable in high MMR ratings, because that isnt where a large majority of the playerbase is.
they even openly said they dont want to balance around high level DbD themselves on multiple occasions.
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
Sure, they may not balance around the absolute highest of play. But they have an incentive to keep a variety of killers being able to be played on all skill levels.
They aren't going to be doing what TF2 did with items like the Base Jumper and nerf that purely because it can be abused competitively.
They're mostly going to be making so playing these killers don't feel tedious and feel hard rather than fun
-
@MadLordJack said:
Will they be? If the system is functional, weaker killers will go against weaker survivors. Seems a brilliant excuse to not buff or rework them.
They most likely would as the complaints from people in the higher ratings not getting any variety would be a big incentive for them.
Since they want people (not just the veteran players) to see their variety of killers in their roster. It's something they're proud of.
So they would be buffing some killers to make them able to be played in higher MMR ratings.
Granted some killers just won't be good enough due to the nature of their powers, but that's just any game.

Supahalf: Best Nurse Player in the world Against Team Oracle: Best Team in dbd, won multiple tournaments, BoTB. Supahalf scrims against them and won maybe... 1-2 times? out of like 10 or so games.
You're not a tournament player,
You already assume i am not a tournament player. But in-fact. i am. I am a Captain of my own Comp Team. We played in many tournaments. Ranging from Dead by-Esports to Wheel of Fate to many others. Learn up on some people before you make a guess.
NOED is a viable perk if you're bad and plan on losing,
Are you a Idiot? Do you not know what a experienced 4 man swf is? Have you Ever faced a actual legit 4 man swf that basically gen rushed your ass to hell and back and 4 outed you? Or are you only a "Survivor Main" that believes there is no such thing as Gen rushing and Shun a killer if he camps and tunnels in Order to win...
Just because survivors finish the gens fast, does not mean they are genrushing
THAT IS GEN RUSHING. WHAT DO YOU MEAAAAN. you're either a troll. or a very entitled survivor main. Go play killer against a well coordinated 4 man swf with these "Meta killer Perks" for like a week. and then come talk to me. I'll wait...
People aren't looping you for 3 hours because they're running stretch rez. they're doing it cause they're better than you
So Pre-throwing and Holding W is considered good..? Uh huh... again. go play killer for a week against a Coordinated 4 man swf. you won't last a week without complainin'..
You cannot say "All the top tier survivors are running stretched res" when you know 100% that is cap. You can't even physically prove that.
Yes i can.. The Comp players that PLAY this game on pc. literally play on Stretch Res. go look at any dbd tournament team. Stretched res out the ass.
Proof? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou8eqghyNik look how stretched that is, And against Spirit too nonetheless.
Oh you wanna play wraith at High mmr? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3sO-BAgom8 Too bad.
Twins? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S-egPqOs7U
I can keep going on dude...
In the end. YOU are the one here inexperienced. YOU are sitting here with no proof backing up what High SBMM is like. and THIS. is what a comp scene looks like.
You Sir. Need To get more Educated..
Edit: Found a Nurse video for you too. Despite him winning with amazing plays. look at his build.. and guess what. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OUo6CKy-qo&t=549s Ruin / Undying still up. with that Noed and corrupt. they rushed the gens still without breaking the totems. (i believe this was old undying before changes. don't quote me on that)
Lmao, imagine being a comp player and arguing in the forums.
That's embarassing, but I can see why you would hate SBMM.
You'd have to always play on your A-Game even in normal matchmaking. But hey, that's better for you isn't it? Wouldn't you be better off with more games that are as sweaty and as difficult as comp DBD?

That would be nice...trapper is all about mind games🙂 you have any lower tier killers you play that you want buffed?
I play Clown on rotation often. I'd like him to have some level of map pressure. Maybe something involving his horse, like have her galloping around the map and the Clown can ride it to get a short speed boost around the map. Maybe not Billy or Spirit speed, but enough for him to have a level of pressure.
Imagine hearing that terror radius music and a gallop too.

Knowing bhvr it will take 6 thrown traps to equal 1 health state🤣 I would love to see different traps like a tripwire trap that causes hindered🤔
Have it be set on set tiles that is highlighted when the Trapper comes nearby and has that trap in his hand.
-
That's one of my biggest hopes with MMR coming into the game.
So they see which killers aren't performing well on certain MMR ratings and buff them accordingly.
Admittedly I have some sick fantasy of seeing Trapper throw his traps at Survivors to incapacitate them, so I hope they go that direction to buffing him :P
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Oh god, oh lord... MMR ain't gonna be bad.... what is this hate towards it.
Eveyone wants better games, fairer games... but everyone be hating it
Because some people don't want fairer games.
They think they will just be matched up with hard and challenging opponents that they can't handle.
Problem is if you are facing those kinds of opponents, you won't get fair matches until you actually start playing them so the system can collect more accurate data.
-
Been happening to me too.
If it happens, Score Events also will be hidden from me. Alongside the map name.
-
Did you have fun?
Yes?
Good for you, you won.
Sure, there are plenty of different ways to win in a game like DBD. But the easiest way is to just look for what is fun for you.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471771#Comment_2471771
That's actually just false.
Generally, the better the player, the less likely they are to want SBMM.
3k Hours here. I'd say I'm rather good enough in the game to get consistent 4ks even against a 4-man SWF with Keys that brings me to Corn Maps with Hatch Offerings.
I still want MMR because even if some of those games can be stressful, they're the ones I remember most as having fun with if I can overcome them. I'm not talking about just using Nurse and #########. I've won games with Deathslinger on large maps with coordinated teams. I've won games as Demo against a "competitive" Korean group who proceeded to insult me after the game.
I'd rather get fairer games even if it means there's a higher frequency of me dealing with people like these. Because I know I can deal with them, I want to be challenged. What's the point of playing a game if you're not challenged?
-
I mean go right ahead.
Any ranking system can be abused if you deliberately sabotage yourself, but you won't be having much fun doing that now are you?
But yeah go ahead and incriminate yourself by deliberately being unsportsmanlike and working with the killer by sandbagging your teammates.
Seriously don't understand the overreaction to SBMM, it's not that bad.
