Now introducing Edition 1 of the Dead By Daylight Forums Bingo Card: Dev Update and Midchapter Edition! Name pending.
We've had the first part, so this is mostly for part 2 (though I'd be interested in how many you get looking through the responses to part 1).
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BY4CG4YNQB7H/image-284-29-284-29.png
Feel free to download and play along if you want, or sit back and enjoy the carnage.
If I notice any glaring omissions don't worry, I'll make a Volume 2 for next time.
I think my bingo card just got filled up in one thread

Wow, so every one is freaking out for nothing.
Thank you for this
When they didn't give us any information and it's BHVR, of course people will assume the worst.
Don't make it out like people are fearmongering here. ######### hell

It's actually 0.4s. The animation isn't any longer than before, it just requires the full animation to play out before you can fire. To get an idea of what it's like, you can jump in game and see how long it takes right now.
To be fair to you guys for a second, that isn't as awful as I thought it was going to be.
Would that maintain quickscoping as an option?

That poorly designed gameplay mechanics should be fixed?
Is that a contentious opinion now?
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know a killer with absolutely no map pressure, 110% speed, has a very small hitbox with a bullet that fires as hard as a charged Huntress shot (that is also incredibly inconsistent and gets ######### over by Dead Hard), and now a Terror Radius that is LARGER than the range his gun will allow having some kind of advantage that is entirely up to the skill of the killer pllaying it is bad game design.
Changes shouldn't be made based on how fun something is. but how balanced it is.
If we made changes based on how "fun" they are to play against, we would have to see Unbreakable, Decisive Strike and BT gutted. Because I sure as hell don't have "fun" playing with these perks that appears in every game I play.

I would hope that is not the case as EAC is presenting that it is "protecting" DBD on their landing page. even with that being said there should still be options for Bhvr to take outside EAC to secure their platform.
I do agree. But I think the reason they are complacent is because EAC is supposed to work on it. But they just aren't.
Even very basic cheats aren't detected by it.

In before it takes him .5 seconds to ADS and every one is freaking out for nothing
I mean can you blame people with BHVR's track record?
cough Billy?
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
It may… MAY not be as bad as assumed. The wording is until ADS is completely up. Instead of 0.35 seconds to shoot, its 0.50 seconds. We just can’t re-aim, re-aim, re-aim anymore without penalty.
I could be fine with that.
From the sounds of it they are completing removing quickscoping.
I can try to be hopeful, but not with BHVR.

The thing is: in the forums are a lot of killer mains. Obviously any nerf to killer will get many upset posts.
I play both sides. I see why killer mains are mad. But they lack seeing the survivor side. It ain't fun versing current deathslinger, even if I win all the time. I rather lose all the time but have fun while losing.
Oh funny you mentioned that.
I play both sides too :D
And I find him way more fun compared to versing say Trapper.
But I digress. Clearly you're not someone to be reasoned with, but is that very surprising?

If he would stay like he is currently, yes, deleting him would be healthy for the game.
I am glad they are changing this stinker of a killer, nobody but a few Deathslinger mains will be upset, so who cares? A big win for the game overall.
Idk man. A lot of people right now on the forums are pretty upset. Me included, and I don't even main him. i just play him on rotation.
-
Honestly?
Killers already slug me in my survivor games anyways. I'm just happy I won't get abandoned/left behind and now my teammates will die with me.
-
Honestly, from what I can tell with the anti cheat they use, EAC. They don't really work on games that don't pay them that much.
Considering how little has been done to fix the issue with EAC, my guess is Epic Games are wanting BHVR to fork over more money before they even start to consider working on better anti cheats for the game.

Im still sad about what they did to Billy. But deathslinger I wouldn't mind never versing him again.
How about the people who do?
I like having a variety of killers, even ones I dislike. Because facing Wraith over and over again ain't fun, chief.

Nemesis is the closest to Slinger's playstyle imo.
Plus, unlike him, he has free map pressure.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282872/why-32-metres-and-not-28
Last, but not least, we’ve increased The Deathslinger’s terror radius to 32m. The Deathslinger is the only ranged Killer that does not have a "lullaby", which meant terror radius reducing perks like Monitor & Abuse could allow you to get close enough to surprise and hit a Survivor without them getting any warning whatsoever.
^^ This is their exact words on the subject. Huntress and Trickster had an audible warning that they were coming and were in a decent range for a shot. If he was 28 meters (Only 4 meters larger then his current state), it would still only give the Survivors a 2 meter warning that he was there with a perk like Monitor equipped unless they were running Spine Chill. (And, at least imo, Slinger has one of the more quiet TR in the start compared to the base heartbeat, or many of the other unique TR's.)
(Plus, Slinger still has a really, really fast projectile compared to Huntress, and can still hit some really, really weird and tight shots that she can't. He's still able to hit through tiny gaps and do wild stuff like that.)
Those tight gaps only really apply for the first hit.
He can't down survivors through walls.
-
Don't get me wrong, I do get why he gets nerfs like these but man... He is so not going to be fun to play.

I seriously doubt Trickster will outclass Deathslinger. At longer ranges, Trickster is also not good, because survivors can very easily dodge and break line of sight at further ranges. Preventing him from actually hitting 6 blades.
Deathslinger also still just needs to hit one shot, as opposed to Trickster.
And regarding another post of yours, it certainly wasn't just a "handful" of people not enjoying going against him. In the live build he has so little actual counterplay, in many cases you just have to pray that he misses his shots when going against him.
As someone who loves playing every ranged killer in the game (even Trickster, I love the guy), yeah no.
He will be worse than Trickster in a 1v1. Yes, Survivors can dodge knives. But it's harder to dodge a flurry of knives than it is to dodge a single small shot. You can make a read on Deathslinger the same way you can make a read on Huntress or Trickster. While Trickster takes 6 knives to down a survivor, he can still down them before reloading a single time. Something Slinger struggles with.
What made him unique against the other two killers is his ability to ADS and be a pseudo-stealth killer.
Now that both of that is gone, he doesn't have much going for him.
He needs to deal with all the regular bullshit a 110% killer deals with without much he can do with it. His range is really REALLY not worth the terror radius increase he got.

She was nerfed even worse lol. I guarantee Slinger and Spirit will, like Billy, become unicorns after this patch.
I agree with Slinger. Not so much Spirit. Spirit is still very much a strong killer.
-
@Alionis said:
I'd like to clarify two things that you guys keep getting wrong, source is the wiki:
Huntress has a lullaby radius of 45 meters, not 40, not 32. Her terror radius is just 20 meters.
Deathslinger's harpoon has a maximum range of 18 meters, not 20.
Thanks for that. I forgot the actual ranges off the top of my head so I went with what the others said.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523546#Comment_2523546
It leaves him a mediocre killer, like he's always been. I don't think huntress or trickster should have a lullaby either. Seems outdated to me but idk
So what you are implying is that he should not be fun to play as because he isn't fun to play against for a handful of people.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523516#Comment_2523516
Again, that relies on line of sight. And on almost every map in the game, essentially especially on indoor maps, shots like that are very hard. Not only do you have to get the timing and the angle perfect but you also have to make sure you don't hit any of the 50 trees and random walls in the way. I've never been cross map sniped by huntress in this game before. Just very rare and very difficult.
So if Huntress and Trickster gets screwed by line of sight.
Where does that leave Slinger who also gets screwed by line of sight AND range?
-
Oh but that isn't all, mon ami~
We got good ######### commons too! Yeah, it requires them to fail a skillcheck. But this is way better than the ######### they had before.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523466#Comment_2523466
I think you're overestimating how useful their long range attacks are. Most huntresses and tricksters don't get to use their power outside of 20 meters bc it's easier to dodge and break line of sight. They have the ability to do it, but against decent survivors even as a God huntress it's very difficult.
As someone who plays both Huntress and Trickster I assure you those long shots are the ones that counts the most.
Huntress can hit Survivors on generators and down them before they even get a chance to react.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523367#Comment_2523367
There was no reason for him to have such a small and quiet terror radius to begin with
He has a 20 meter shot range.
If he wants to get a chance with survivors he needs to be able to get close.
Huntress doesn't have that, nor do Trickster. They both outclass him right now. ######### Trickster.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523323#Comment_2523323
Huntress is 32 lullaby and 20 terror. She can also down you over every pallet as well as some lower loops. He cant do that, he gets an injure and suffers a stun penalty. He has no positive over huntress now in any category
If anything he is worse than her in every category now.
He needs to reload after every health state. That reload slows him down for 2 seconds. Meanwhile Huntress has the option to equip Iron Maiden to reload faster AND she can down two survivors and injure one without add-ons if she doesn't miss.
Huntress has a 32m Lullaby, same with Slinger. Slinger used to have an advantage over her by having the element of surprise. You would need to pay attention for Slinger when you don't need to with Huntress.
Slinger has a 20 meter max range on his weapon. Huntress does not and it hits like trucks.

@SirGando said:
wow, these comments proved what ive assumed. yeah, this will never change.
What'd you assume?
People can be happy and annoyed at the same update. I love the changes that are coming into the game in regards to the Trapper buff, Spirit nerf, Plague buff, Hatch being ######### gutted.
But I also play Deathslinger and this change doesn't make him feel nice to play. He already suffers from a huge downtime compared to other killers. Being forced to walk slowly while reloading at 2 seconds every single time he wants to use his power.
Trickster and Huntress doesn't have these issues. Yes they reload in lockers. But the time it takes to reload in a locker isn't as punishing as missing shots as Slinger.

Because it means that you won't get left behind if there's a hatch anymore. And get ######### over by the EGC because the Killer found you immediately after.

All right, as far as I understand it, survivors can only bless a totem. What happens if the killer plays with 4 Hex Perks and the totems are destroyed? Is this some kind of counter against the Boon Perks ?
... Huh.
Is reminded of the Retribution, Plaything, Haunted Grounds, Undying build on Nurse.
Yeah that basicallly ######### over Boons doesnt it?
-
@ad19970 said:
It all depends on the effects of the Boon perk, whether the killer will pretty much have to go out of their way to snuff it out. If you can still play killer well despite it being active, than it won't be such a problem.
We'll have to see, I do hope that it takes a bit longer to bless a totem than it takes to cleanse a totem.
I hope it's as fast as kicking a hatch closed. Same animation too probably.
-
@Mandy said:
If the killer snuffs out the Boon Totem, it turns the totem back into a dull one. The Survivor can then choose to rebless that totem or another one.
Also, whilst they have a Boon Totem blessed, if they choose to bless another one - then they can, and it will remove from the original blessed totem onto the new one.
(edited as I keep writing Boom instead of boon!)
Are Boon totems going to have game changing effects or something small and minor?
Because it makes sense if it's minor if you can relight it. If it's game changing like Ruin, then it might be problematic

I've played slinger a lot recently, actually. And as someone who is not the greatest slinger. I ADS instead of quick scoping. It's not going to be a huge nerf, and somewhat of a buff actually
Good for you. The vast majority of people who enjoy him don't.
Give his ADS better travel time and increase his reload speed.
If features of a killer were blocks, taking away his TR and quickscoping would be heavy ones and his change in movement speed is a small tiny, insignificant block that barely changes anything.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282843/deathslinger-getting-nerfed
Eh....I wouldn't call this a nerf, but a buff. Sure you can't insta aim and fire. But that's not neccesary. There's nothing wrong with ADS. This isnt COD. They buffed movement speed when ADS to compensate needing to aim
You've never played Slinger have you?
His movement speed while aiming is ######### garbage, lmao.
A better compensation for these huge nerfs to him is to change his reload speed so it's faster
-
Don't know how to feel about Deathslinger's nerf.
I don't mind the ADS change.
But holy #########, those other nerfs to his terror radius.
Compensating it with a faster movement speed isn't enough. Either remove the TR nerf or give him faster reload speeds.

Even though my current survivor matches are awful (Thanks nighttime for allowing people with no braincells or common sense to have enough free time to play the game). In GENERAL it has been better.
Both as Killer and Survivor I have been matched with opponents and teammates my skill level.
It's just a couple of survivors who lack any sort of game sense and common sense that infuriates me.

Healing myself with Self-Care prevents me from needing to find another survivor or item to heal me, especially in solo queue matches where I don’t always have the benefit of coordination. It takes just as much time for two survivors to heal each other as each using Self-Care, unless other healing perks or items are in play.
Kindred.

Try again, BT prevents tunneling and won’t help you reach a hooked survivor if you’re injured.
Then heal each other. The Killer is most likely never going to camp when there are still generators to protect.
And if they do, they're ######### themselves over for only ONE KILL.

it feels like no matter how good i play and how many times i escape i just dont get out from this ranking idk anymore. and bullying killers unintentionally is also not fun
I just want to add to this.
I was playing with someone who didn't understand how to play survivor yet they have almost 3000 HOURS INTO THE GAME.
How you have 3000 hours in DBD and still hide in lockers and act like the pebble will save you is beyond me.

Sure it is. You are healing yourself at half efficiency, but allowing other survivors that would have to heal you do whatever else. If an entire team is injured versus a camping killer and there’s no Self-Care or other healing abilities, have fun!
if you seriously need self care to deal with a camping killer, then I'm sorrt you have not heard of a perk called Borrowed Time.
-
@GoshJosh said:

I agree with one of the commentors on Reddit. This seems to be a "fix" for their new hit validation forcing Killers on the other side of the pallet when you reverse stun then previously.
God, this hit validation just needs to be removed.

I don't believe DBD is competitive, and it shouldn't.
But I do know that any game where you're PVPing other players and try to play to win (even though you really shouldn't) is by definition competitive.
So I think I'm going with other
