Maybe with a combination of Ruin and Deadlock, but it's like Counterforce. People are having a fuss over nothing.

Oh boy, that reminds me of my old "guides" about an in-depth "analysis" of Payday 2 characters.
Developers can remove guides, but I doubt they'd care enough to actually do something about it.

Not everytime but ironically this did happen to me just last game, lmao.

Not a single chill game. Every game has been super sweaty and stressful. This is the first time since I've started playing that I've considered quitting. I don't want to just stomp lower skilled players every game, but I need some variety. I come home from work and just want to chill, play a bit, and have fun. Don't want to struggle against toxic stretch res swfs in every game.
I would like to thank you for proving without a doubt that MMR works for Killers.
Your stats stabilized into something that is a lot more meaningful and manageable and you aren't pubstomping every game.
So again.
Thank you so so much for proving that MMR is needed so people like you actually face survivors your skill level :D

Remember when we got our FIRST mid chapter? How we got like what 10 perk changes? Sloppy got its mangled, Ace in the hole got its 2nd add on etc etc. I miss those days.
Yeah, and then the game started getting buggier and buggier by the day and we get more bug fixes rather than actual updates.
"We can make content and bug fixes" my ass.

I noticed that if I play one of my mains, it is pretty much instant.
But if I am playing a Killer I know has low MMR, it takes a bit. Maybe that's why.

What part of that statement do you not understand?
I'll give you a simple analogy.
A 17-year-old kid with no marketable skills sees an orthopedic surgeon roll up next to him at a stoplight in a Ferrari. Surgeon is dressed nice, has a super hot girl with him in the car, and is balling hard.
The kid could have many different reactions. My reaction was I wanted to be like that. I worked and paid my way through college, graduated with a 4.0, got into medical school, matched into an excellent residency, and became an expert in my field. I worked to develop multiple income streams to work towards my goal of pulling in $1m a year. I worked to master the game, and as a result, I've won at life.
Many other people in this situation would say this is outside their grasp. Going to college is too much work. Becoming a doctor takes too long. They don't have determination or fortitude to preserve. Instead, maybe they want to be lazy and take a job at Walmart. They would never imagine earning a million in their life, let alone in a single year.
People who want SBMM are like this second group. They don't think they are capable enough. No self confidence. They're not willing to put in the time to get there. They choose the easy path to their trailer park with the other low achievers.
Like wealth redistribution, the lazy want to redistribute these easier games away from me to themselves. But being stuck in a community where I only see high achieving ballers 100% of the time is no fun for me. One of the best parts of being on top is looking down and seeing all the people beneath you.
This has to be a copypasta.
No one seriously talks or behaves like this. There's no way someone lacks this much self awareness.

This is such a mood

For Killers I main it's been a sweatfest, but that is to be expected. My MMR ratings on those killers are most likely inflated.
But for Killers I have not played for a while, it's been really fun!

I know I've only played against one Nurse and she had a blink bug where she can't use her second blink.
It's actually kinda awful how she still has these bugs.

Maps being disabled...Again.
People losing DLCs due to glitches to the point that a post explains it is pinned.

Lunge bug that negatively effects killers.
Being honest with all these game ruining issues I am surprised the numbers are as high as they are.
The Lunge bug only affects Pinhead.
But yes, a lot of those bugs as well.
And I think the unbreakable pallets are only in Gideon.

Staying at rank 1 killer is pretty easy if u dont tunnel/camp and get brutal killer, no win condition = no loss :D
It's less about staying in Rank 1, and more about getting there.
I like to play fairly. And because of that, my BP gains tend to be fairly decent on both sides. It tends to swim around the 20k area.
Which is why it's fairly bullshit that BHVR decided that you only get 500k and that is if you put the time and effort required on both sides. If not, you only get 250k. Which is even worse.
I can get 500k in around 20 games. 10 games with BBQ and WGLF.

I can't exactly give it better data if I get hour long queue times.
Then your MMR is absurdly high. Which is to be expected given how often you can pubstomp. This will happen especially to killers you main. Which is what happens in any MMR-based game that hasn't had MMR until recent.
If your queue times are long and stay long, then that is feedback for the devs. MMR is clearly working good enough for the vast majority of players. And by good enough I mean good enough to get games that aren't a curbstomp on either side. It's been the first day with MMR on, let it settle.
-
@Pulsar said:

So the old system did work, at least somewhat.
Pick a side. Either the old system produced unreliable data or it produced usable data.
The test wasn't as bad as it is currently.
No, the old system produced unreliable data compared to the current MMR system.
Which is why it needs adjusting. Which is why having any data is better than having no data at all.
Because anything is better than randomly assigning people to matches with random players, some with far higher skill sets than the average player.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2483717#Comment_2483717
Then why collect data at all?
If the system is so flawed that the data is #########, why even collect it?
Because it's better than forcing EVERYONE to start at 0. Where it's completely random for everyone for a long time.
-
I played with a friend who has stopped playing DBD for a while and only came back because of MMR.
His MMR is realistically non-existant, but the Killers we faced were... At best, below average.
It wasn't a complete stomp, but they definitely weren't completely clueless
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2483708#Comment_2483708
That's blatantly false.
BHVR has been collecting data for years, wiped it and then collected another 6 months worth.
The system should be working now, and if it isn't, it's broken.
... With a matchmaking system that the community collectively agrees is #########.
Yeah no ######### the data is not perfect. That's why you have to wait a couple of weeks until things settle.
-
@FatallyIconic said:

Higher MMR giving rewards (be it badges, cosmetics etc) encourage people to get better at the game. A lot of other games do this, and it's actually healthy for the game because people will actually try and play well and not THROW the game (which happens a lot in DBD)
The point of this MMR is that you shouldn't feel any incentive to sweat. But to play the game how you normally do.
If you force players to sweat it out every game, especially for a game like DBD where the highest levels of play are unbalanced, then we're back to the ######### situation where Rank 1 is a mixed bag of skill levels.
-
@ShinobuSK said:
Some kind of special cosmetics if you reach very high mmr would be nice.

Oh, is it?
I couldn't tell since we have no numbers.
I guess you can't tell with your actual games?
You don't need a number telling you you had fun.
-
Glad to see you're enjoying it, mate!
I'm having such a good time with MMR as well. I've been able to play games on Killers I normally feel too afraid to play purely because I was stuck in Red Rank hell (Killers like Ghostface and Doctor). Not because I can't play them, but because I don't have any good builds on them to counter the stuff Red Rank survivors usually bring me.
But now, I can bring whatever the hell I want and play however the hell I want. Without having to worry about sweating too hard and make sure everyone have a fun game afterwards.
Of course, I won't object to people being salty despite me playing fair though ;)

The fact that it's working for you doesn't mean that it's working for everyone.
People who are in ash rank are almost entirely there because they're brand new. Yes, it's not being used for matchmaking now, but their current rank is based on how much and how well they played over the last month. An ash rank isn't suddenly equipped to deal with previously red rank killers the next day just because "secret invisible matchmaking" magically decided they're a top tier player today.
And duh, obviously people aren't posting screenshots of their 4 red rank and a brown lobby where they got sub 10k points because they had such a fun match.
Shouldn't that be the point though?
Play the game for fun, even if you didn't get much points.
But we are still going through a transitional period with MMR, it's still not absolutely perfect.
I mean hell, I won almost every single one of my games as Blight using that build prior to MMR and these was the survivors I went up against.
In Ormond. Three of them were good and gave me a run for my money, one (the Bronze 4) didn't really know what she was doing.
So while it isn't immediately perfect, it did match me with survivors that are my skill level. Even if one of them clearly wasn't.
I understand if it isn't working for you, but I have been having a lovely experience with it myself (and so do a lot of other people in the forums). And I'd like to share my positive experiences more than my negative ones. God knows this forum can use for less complaining and whining.

Same. All my matches tonight with two exceptions were thoroughly enjoyable. Haven't had this much fun in a couple years now. Most team mates were pretty good, had some really bad ones who felt it was better to crouch around instead of saving people, but overall it was a fantastic set of matches tonight.
Curious to see how my MMR really stands up though because I rarely, if ever, survive matches, but I do as much as possible to help my team out and get them safely out the Exit Gates. Sometimes I screw up and just get steamrolled, but I usually do well on BP and at the minimum get a safety.
I remembered this one game where Nea brought a key and everyone but me got a hatch escape.
I can't help but laugh because Pinhead just stared me down while I was holding his box.
Like he thought I was being a naughty naughty.
That game was also fun, reasonably challenged without feeling frustrated at the game.

@anarchy753 said:
There is no real reason to hide MMR except to prevent the players from seeing unbalanced lobbies.
You can say "it stops them abusing it," but legitimately, how? If people want easier matches, they just play like trash or stand afk in the corner. Not seeing a number go down doesn't stop them from doing that until they find easier matches.
From the amount of posts today alone that show yesterday's brown rank players thrown in with red rank players, I think it's pretty safe to say the same issues with absolutely unfair lobbies still exist. Even if there's "growing pains" etc while it calibrates they told us that this is using the last several months' worth of data on our gameplay, so how much is it honestly going to improve?
It's purely a PR move so that no player can show a screenshot of a lobby and say "this was unfair" without them having the option to say "oh no it was fair, it's just using secret invisible parameters that you couldn't possibly understand and that's why you got steamrolled by top tier swf."
The fact that there's been zero transparancy on how the MMR actually works (and more specifically how it differs from the rank and emblem systems that have been called broken for years) is just further indication that it's not better, just hidden.
Actually Grades no longer matter.
They're mostly an indication of your time playing the game rather than you actual skill.
Although I can see why you would still think Rank matters considering we just swapped over into an MMR system.
However, MMR has been much better for me as Killer and Survivor than the previous matchmaking system. I can now play Killers like Ghostface and Hag without fearing getting roflstomped in Red Ranks.
The majority of my games has been fun, and I've been playing pretty much nonstop since MMR came out. And that's all it should matter.
Your number shouldn't matter if you had a fun match.

Normally i'd say thats tinfoil hat conspiracy talk. but CSGO doesn't show the MMR ranking and yet everybody enjoys it and says it works well. BHVR is absolutely NOT making an MMR that good, and it would be very unsurprising if the MMR was hidden because they aren't confident in how stable it is.
In general though, I have been having better matches after it got activated.
Don't know if it is placebo, but I haven't had a complete curbstomp on either side.
-
Ah yes, Temple of Purgation.
Also known as ######### Slip'n'Slide.
Get used to the slippery walls in this one since it's way more common than other maps. I think Ormond is the only other one that beats it.

My bad, I wasnt trying to intentionally cut off the results. From what I remember, in the top photo I had 1 kill, 2nd photo I had 2, and 3rd I had none. And yeah, while the scores seem high, keep in mind the offerings I brought.
Also, I wasnt trying to say that I'm terrible at the game, just that Im using killers Im terrible with. In the last 12 matches Ive played I probably have a total of like 15 kills.
I mean if you aren't getting any kills, then you're being bumped into the rating you should be.
Also, technically 2 kills is enough.
I've had games with no kills and 8 hooks. I've had games with 3 kills and 3 hooks.
What should erally matter is how many hooks you got as that is easier and more achieveable than always getting a 4k

No, you need to play Survivor for that.

ANKAMA Support replies to your ticket a year after you've created it (if they even reply).
Then you have Activision, Ubisoft and Rockstar Games which just milk players dry with rehashed nonsense. BHVR might release buggy games but have you heard of Bethesda?
