Mainly to bait the killer telling them they found the gate/hatch and want them to see them leave.
-
Walking into a trap that wasn't even manually placed. Trapper had Iridescent Stone.
-
I can say wholeheartedly the only reason the game feels Killer sided or that Killer feels easier is because some (if not most) survivors are not as good as their rank should be. I see people in Rank 1 play similar to how someone in Rank 20 plays, it's rather embarassing and it just makes me want to play Killer more.
-
Holy crud, BHVR you need to take these videos down!
I'm pretty sure you could do that because it infringes on your EULA.
-
Nope, I understand why the killer does it.
Does it suck to be the person slugged? Maybe, but if I recover fully I at least have a chance to keep the game going when a teammate comes in to rescue me.

When can we expect for BBQ to become a hex perk with these threads?

So you admit that you're playing using all the exploits in the game?
That's not going to be a challenge for anyone, on either side of the game. You're not fully comprehending what I've been saying either. I've already said in that comment and in others on here that a lot of those rules are situational to an extent. If you get a bunch of people hook rushing in plain sight then it does make sense to stay near the hooked survivor etc etc
I've also already stated that yes, survivors also have a full list of unsportsmanlike behavior they can engage in as well, which you are apparently not paying attention to despite me having very clearly and succinctly explained all of this.
I'll say it again, any killer could get a 4k every game if they used all the exploits and played completely unrestrained. The same goes for survivors (ie you can play SWF and coordinate perks, items and add ons with one another and then proceed to hook rush, gen rush, teabag, flashlight abuse etc etc)
This is unsportsmanlike on both sides. Just because the game allows for it doesn't mean that it's sportsmanlike. If we're all being honest with ourselves we can all admit that the game isn't perfectly developed and leaves room for unsportsmanlike conduct. This is evident in the fact that the game has been in ongoing development since it was first released and new patches come out regularly to address any balance or fair play issues.
Try and play a clean match without crutching on exploits and unsportsmanlike conduct. Let's see you get a 4k every match then
I'm sorry but asking the Killer to not down anyone for the first 2 minutes of the game or break chase after 40 seconds is not "Playing fair"
It's deliberately giving the other side an advantage.
It's like if I as a survivor wait until the first person who is hooked enters second stage. It makes no sense why I would do this unless I would cripple myself.
And what do you mean it's unsportsmanlike? If the game allows it, then it is allowed. It's within the confines of the game. It's sportsmanlike.
I don't slug or camp but those two methods can be effective at obtaining kills. So I understand, even as a survivor, why a killer would do that. It is of course ineffective to survivors that know what they are doing, because they can play around that.
Also asking the Killer to not use a very clear advantage, the basement hook, just doesn't make any sense.
There is a challenge, and then there is crippling yourself.
A challenge allows you to do your best in hopes of you besting it.
What you just described is crippling yourself during the match just to be "Sportsmanlike" according to your definition, not the devs.

This also basically sounds like confirmation of my suspicions that you're playing using unsportsmanlike tactics and strategies.
Post some of your match results for us while abiding by the following:
No camping
No basement hooks
No tunneling, break chase after 30-40 seconds
Set a timer at the beginning of the match, no downs until 2 minutes into the match
No slugging
No proxy camping either
This isn't to single out killers either, I could easily make a similar list for survivors.
That's kinda giving the killer an unrealistic checklist and rules to abide by.
Ergo, the Survivor's Rulebook for Killers.
While yes Killers should play fair, they shouldn't have to always abide by these rules to play fair.

Question about Oni. Why wouldn't you run Monitor and Abuse instead of Distressing? You get the same TR increase in a chase, and it lasts for a small bit after a chase is over, so when you down someone you get the same proc range as Distressing. And then on top of that, your TR is smaller when out of a chase, which is great for Oni since his TR music is relatively quiet.
... I never thought about that. Holy crud! That actually might be better for Oni. Thanks @Demogordon_Ramsay !

I don't think anyone would be against more general perks. More perks for everyone without requiring the need to unlock their teachables is a good thing.
-
It's probably obvious if anyone has seen me on any Spirit thread that Spirit is my favourite killer to play as and against.
-
God no, 15 seconds is already pretty long enough. If you reach Bloodlust 3 as a Killer you're probably wasting your time on the survivor.
-
I've had fun playing as her in PC. Even in Rank 1. Sure I'm not winning a much as I usually do, but it feels satisfying to get a hit in exactly where the Survivor is at.
-
@Deadeye said:
btw Spirit phasing sound isn't related to TR. Although I also saw that written somewhere, you can test it. if you stand close to the edge of the default TR, you can hear both, phasing and TR.
Actually that is a sound bug related to the Spirit, I heard it as well as a Survivor. You're not supposed to hear her phase inside her Terror Radius.

I'm using Resiliance a lot recently, it's a very underrated perk imo. 9% doesn't sound much but it can make a lot difference especially during vaults. It also reduces the amount of bs hits you get through windows quite a bit.
I've been using Resiliance a lot too on some of my Survivor builds, particularly my chase build. Though sadly I haven't noticed a big enough difference in vault speed :/ So I kinda have stopped using it as much.

I love to go against her and I love playing AS her.
She is honestly the one killer who had me hooked all the way throughout her lore. I couldn't care less about Trapper or Doctor's backstory, but knowing what Rin had to go through in her backstory made me feel sorry for her and made me wonder if she was destined to be The Spirit all along.
Her playstyle is certainly interesting, and I think some survivors are getting better at countering her. Making it that much more fun to play as her. Requiring to predict the survivor's movements prior to phasing and landing a shot exactly where you think they're going to go is honestly the best feeling I've ever had in this game, close onto to successfully trapping Survivors with Hag with a huge web that makes a 3 gen setup impossible to be completed by the survivors.
Whenever I face Spirit as a Survivor, I always grinned wider than her whenever she makes that face. I absolutely love the difficulty she brings. And the kind of chases I can expect from her.
Unlike other killers, running around the same pallet or loop is not an option. You need to be on your toes, to always be vigilant, to listen out for her footsteps and where she might go in counter to where you are going as a Survivor.
I love counting down her power and when to drop the pallet, only to stun her at the end of it. No one can take that feeling away from me, and most Spirit mains don't even look out for it because most survivors don't think to count down to her distance over you.
I love juking her with my injured sounds, forcing her to swing in the wrong direction or swing to early while I run away behind her.
God I wish more people know more on how to face her, on how to counter her, because it really saddens me that I always see the same culprits in the Forum complaining about how you are "forced" to use certain perks to counter her. Or forced to change their playstyle.
That's the point. Spirit is unlike any other Killer, except maybe Freddy.
She forces you to play differently, to play safe, to not always go for the obvious loops and infinites. She is a wonderfully mastercrafted killer.
Sure she may have flaws, but so does literally every other killer in the game. She can use cheap tactics, but where's the fun in that?

perks? pfff its called skill baby YEAH!
But to be a bit more serious, I have been running perkless matches with a 2 - 3 - 4man SWF on red ranks the last weeks and its been going more then fine.
So with that comes a bit of freedom and its lovely to get some value out of the many perks this game has to offer.
Like Deja Vu, I mean its actually really nice to just exactly know where gens are, on some maps I would say its actually VERY helpful, mostly the indoor maps.
Like Left Behind, being the last survivor running around with the killer up your behind and just seeing that aura, its fantastic.
Like Tenacity, being able to crawl WAY faster then any killer expects AND recover? dude, that is just golden and can totally help you and others escape.
I dare say, my good friend. You're more daring than I am to play perkless as a Survivor.
But those three perks really does feel like they have some use, especially during the early and endgame. I know I've found myself unable to find generators in Lery's multiple times and feel like an idiot for missing them.
And it must be satisfying to see the aura with Left Behind, though I'm pretty sure the Killer wouldn't be pleased you got to the hatch first. :P
-
I can play Hag, I can play Spirit, I can even play a bit of Legion.
But I cannot play Trapper. My traps are always in obvious spots that they end up being disarmed before I could even do anything.
-
If Stream Sniping is bannable I would be banned on the spot because I always find Twitch Streamers in my lobbies. I don't even look for them.
Here's the thing, you cannot prove someone is stream sniping on purpose unless that person intently says so that they were sniping their stream. Because streamers can get into your lobbies in the regular.
-
I keep getting that map often, I don't know why.
I mean I like that map as Killer, because the pallets are mostly unsafe but good lord is the Saloon just the place to go to loop.
-
Imma be honest, I sometimes do that too.
But only when I get my 4k, not out of a sign of annoyance at the survivor, but more of a final hit to end the game on.
-
I really don't think Billy should be nerfed, even with the smaller maps.
He has a lot of map mobility going for him but aside from that you can loop him like most killers. The best way to keep him busy is around a pallet or a loop where he cannot rev up his chainsaw all the way.
Though I still prefer to go against Spirit over Billy though.

I say maybe David, for Dead Hard and WGLF.

I'm not going to omit the matches where I do get less than 3 kills.
In fact, I just finished a match with one right now:
But these matches aren't the majority nor the norm. Most of my matches yesterday and the match I did at the start of the day ended with a 3k-4k.
(If you're wondering why NOED: EGC Sacrifice challenge.)

Shame on you for making me choose between Spirit and Nurse's feet.
Shame.

I feel like this way Hook Sabotaging is more skill-based and more reactive rather than proactive.
So I think the devs want to keep it this way

I know it will be talking to the void since there's so many replies, but I don't have problem with NoED, I only play solo, I love it when someone brings kindred and I like breaking these little piles of bone for that sweet sweet BP.
But I'm only rank, 6? I also thinks that people are treating this game like it LoL, I can't be it's not 4v4 and won't ever be fully balanced especially with SWF.
Camping seems to be the problem but like so many said, it usually gets rewarded in Solo games but i've played what 100 hours in two weeks because I don't have a job right now and I would say it happened in like 5-6 games.
Also you guys can also play non meta perks, i love pebble when it works
I'm glad to see someone I completely agree with in this sea of replies.
-
All I can think of is her as a L4D Boomer and I don't know if I should be disgusted with myself or with you for making me think of that ._.
-
Oni is in my regular rotation of Killers I play. So I hope to find you in the fog as Kazan Yamaoka ^^
I do agree though, people tend to play certain killers more than others. I don't think I've seen someone play Demogorgon for a long while. And I want to pet the Demopuppy :(
-
I really only use NOED on killers I haven't exactly played much, so I want to at least secure some kills while I'm still learning them.
That said, I feel like NOED itself, while it needs changing, doesn't need to change the core idea of the perk.
Risking it all at the very end of the match for a big boost of power that would leave the survivors panicking.
And this is coming from a Survivor prespective, not a killer one. Though, as I've said many times before, I probably am just an exception and not the norm. I want powerful perks that can change the tide of the game like NOED to stay in the game, because that is what makes DBD constantly interesting for me.
-
This is why I thought that maybe the Killer experience is not as frustrating as it once was, I feel like there are more bad survivors than good ones lately. And the ones that are genuinely good tend to play in SWF groups so they can play optimally.
There seriously needs something to be done about matchmaking and ranking, because right now some people are where they are not supposed to be.
-
God no.
You'll force people to dodge lobbies until they meet up with their SWF team.
Don't nerf SWF.
-
I don't like playing against Legion, imma be honest here.
Legion is just not a fun killer to play against because of how he works. He forces you to be put into a deep wound state and you are forced to stay there and heal.
Over, and over, and over again.
Killers like Freddy and Spirit are challenging and even more so when they really want your butt, I want killers like them who I can run around in a chase rather than a killer like Legion who'll tap me once and not chase me anymore after that.
-
Killer - Rin Yamaoka. I honestly just want to see my girl happy without all that rage inside her :(
Survivor - Nea. For obvious reasons. Also for the meme.
Okay okay, not joking this time. I think I woulld go with Claudette. Her botanical skills could be used in some interesting ways if she was given killer powers.
-
I always say cleanse bones too, especially when I'm playing SWF with others. But that is mainly because if I am cleansing bones myself or with others, we have an idea of how many totems are left.
I don't think NOED is overpowered or broken because of that. Yes it gives the killer an unfair advantage at the end of the game, but isn't that the point? Risking it all for the very end knowing full well the other side might counter that with destroying your totems. You're already stuck to 75% of your perk arsenal for the time being, and you could still technically win without NOED ever coming into play as the Killer.
Maybe my opinion is an unpopular one, but I feel like if NOED is active, it's my fault as the Survivor for not doing totems, not the killer's fault for bringing it into the game. Theoretically you could be effective and save the obvious totems in their obvious locations and look for totems in more obscure areas, so if NOED pops up it'll most likely be in an obvious spot.

You contradict yourself a little too much. You call this thread " Killer is easy" but based off of what? A few lucky matches in lr. Or a few garbage high ranks in matches.
You should have titled this thread " I have been having some easy matches" at this point
You played ghost face and the fact that you got looped for 4 minutes is a red flag. Compentent survivors which is what you should become by red rank would have destroyed you.
The sheer fact that you are getting looped for 4 mind says the opposite its not that killer is easy OP. Its more like you got lucky.
If it's a few lucky matches, then boy howdy was I having a lot of lucky matches. It means every killer game I play has been just lucky matches.
I played Ghostface and got looped because I got too invested in the chase, I'm not the best at Killer but I know when I've sunk more time than I should've in a chase. And that was one of them. But I just wanted one kill because at that point I conceded that I lost.
I will admit though, that match did have me getting lucky. Luck in the form of what I am talking about in the original post, that most survivors are not as good as they should be. That most survivors are far higher than they should be in rank.
Yeah yeah I know rank doesn't matter, but as long as matchmaking like this happens I'm afraid that Killer is Easy for the time being. I would love to see myself getting crushed by sweaty tryhards. Because that is the only way I can improve. With killers like Huntress, Hag, Doctor. I want to get out of my comfort zone with the killers I don't normally play as.
Not everyone wants to always get easy games, some of us like to have a challenging game. And DBD has a matchmaking problem. Or more specifically, a ranking problem.

Why would anyone care about reaching rank 1 anyway? You get nothing for it. Being so concerned about some steam achivement is just weird. I was rank 2 with both killer and survivor at the same time a lot but never hit rank 1 because I didn’t enjoy the game much at that point to keep going for it. And it was before the current rank system.
Believe it or not some people actually want to get the achievements.

AFK Wraiths force me to not play the game.

The last couple of days I've been sent to Bedham over and over.

of course not, i just don’t see the point in being so against free BP, you guys act like your feelings have been hurt or something, jesus
That's not the point, Killers being given crows still means they are not participating in the game.
Giving survivor crows means the killer or the EGC can still elliminate them from the game, forcing them out.
You cannot do that with Killers.

It's not really because you play bad or you aren't that good at Killer. You could be a very good Killer and still lose because of those reasons. Had it many times as or against Killers.
Fair enough I suppose, I just have a mantra that if I lost in the game, it's entirely my fault. Unless it's very obviously the game's fault (and that rarely happens)

Boo hoo, people are just mad because they wont be able to butt dance in the exit games :(
AFAIK, the killer dictates how he wants the match to happen, that’s why farming isnt bannable. Report them as much as you like, nothing will happen because THATS dumb. Imagine being mad about something as silly. Entitlement at its finest.
AFK killers in general can simply argue they didnt get anyone and simply just gave up. Why would be they forced to DC?
Maybe if this game wasn’t so survivor sided, killers wouldn’t feel the need to derank.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1227104#Comment_1227104
Exactly and people still have the audacity to complain XD
Not playing the game would go under Unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Farming technically means you are still playing the game, going AFK is not. That's why you have crows for AFK survivors. Because the devs don't want you to do that.

Mostly Trapper, maybe Hag as well if you don't have time to set up. Michael also gets hurt alot if they stay out of your LoS.
Oni as well but I use Monitor which makes it easier to get the first hit but yeah Oni can also get really hurt. But all of them are decent if you have time to set up.
There are Killers like Clown, Leatherface, Legion who aren't very good in any way.
Yeah I can see why that would make you feel hopeless as a killer. But that's the point of getting better at the game ^^
Even if today you aren't able to get kills, there's always tomorrow to try your luck next time and practice to get better.
-
I feel like Moris should still be a thing regardless. It does make playing as Survivor much more harder because your life is a lot more fragile than before. And I want that kind of challenge and intensity in a game whenever I play Survivor (though not the kind of intensity where my teammates DC on command). Though maybe I'm just an exception, not the norm.
I do understand where you're coming from though, it can feel unfair that a killer can just kick you out of the game just because you've been hooked once. Though I don't know what kind of nerfs would be good for moris. Someone in another thread mentioned that every survivor needs to be hooked once before anyone can be moried. And I feel like that's a great idea, because it means as long as one person hasn't been hooked yet, no one is at risk of being moried.

There are matches sometimes where you can't use your power with certain Killers. If you used it, the match would've been over because the gens would've been done at that point.
You mean killers like Oni, Trapper or Shape who depend on survivors getting injured by them or survivors unaware of their presense? Or do you mean someone else?
-
@MrDardon said:
Ignore them people who find it necessary to disagree with your opinion in an aggressive way without any valid arguments.
But yeah, Killer sometimes seems easy because matchmaking and the whole Emblem System is a problem. You'll get matched with purple or green ranks, sometimes even yellow ranks as a Rank 1 Killer, therefore making a Killer Game seem very easy.
Sometimes you'll be matched with other red ranks but since it is quite easy to pip as a Survivor that doesn't that those red rank Survivors are very good at the game and will give you false feelings of the match.
But then there are those experienced red ranks or purple or lower (some people intentionally derank to bully lower rank Killers) who will definitely give you a hard time with most Killers. And those are the type of Survivors who tend to usually exist on red ranks for the majority of time.
Me as well is getting alot of 3 or 4 k's which also doesn't mean that the game was easy, but experienced Killers will deal better with that.
Sometimes I get 4 k's and I am not even nearly satisfied with the match because the gens went very fast and I had to slug for the most part. With some Killers it doesn't pay off to use your power if you get those teams. I played Trapper yesterday against a good team and I couldn't use my power because I had no time, playing only with my M1.
So basically the main reason people don't like Killer is because of the stress you get and sometimes you inability to use your power which shouldn't be a thing, you should always have a chance even if it's a 1 % chance, it's still a chance.
I do agree, playing Killer can feel absolutely hopeless and I understand why people think playing Killer is stressful. It's why I took a break in the first place.
But right now, going back after that break, it definitely does feel like there is an abundance of people who shouldn't be where they are at right now.
-
Honestly if they just made it so only the person who made the offering could see it (that includes Survivors), it would make it so much easier for me as a Survivor.
Because my teammates tend to DC the moment they see a mori.
