Hey! I will give my life for my rando teammates!
You may, but the majority of Megs has done far far worse for me. >:(

It was supposed to come out today, devs said it was supposed to come out today, and the rift was supposed to come tomorrow. Unless they delayed it.

Speaking of the patch, when is it coming? 3pm here, still no sign of it
It's coming tomorrow, Wednesday

It probably would, but I doubt it's high on the dev's priority list right now.
Though I'm sure they would like to add some UI changes in later updates ^^
-
I think they already go through a list of animations if you leave them to idle for a while.

Yes actually, back when I first started playing the game, my build was mainly focused on hiding and making sure I stay on generators. I didn't know how to chase the killer around and usually get downed in a couple of seconds.
Now my build looks like this after 1.5k hours of playing.
Dead Hard - Probably the best Exhaustion perk in the game in my opinion, can force the killer to miss a swing or help you reach a pallet/window (when it work, I've been dedicated servered before and left exhausted on the ground.)
WIndows of Opportunity - Very helpful for being the Solo Runner, helps you figure out which spots are dead zones and which are safe to loop the killer around. Also helps if your teammates are very pallet happy so you know when to focus on windows rather than pallets.
Object of Obsession - I typically want to be chased the whole game if I could, because I find the chase much more fun than doing generators. It's always a thrill whenever I face a killer that the community deems as "overpowered" (none of them are) like Spirit or Freddy. They tend to be the best games I play.
We're Gonna Live Forever - Gotta get that Bloodpoint Bonus. I tend to get 2 or 3 stacks on the regular, depending on how often my teammates get downed and need rescuing.
I went from being a Gen Jockey to someone who wants to be chased by the killer the whole game, and the games rarely disappoint (unless you get horrible teammates)

True, dark souls tend to be tough but fair. Oh hey, i found these items by exploring the area. Hmm, interesting, the boss up ahead is weak to said items. I wonder what i should do with said items. Hmmm. Hmm. That and some of the npcs can basically win the boss fight for you or be a major help, if not just well good for cannon folder.
Yeah, sometimes random team mates can truly be well the other kind of challenging. This is total nonsense kind of challenge. At least the killer is having a good time. If not just secretly asking themselves, what the heck is happening here. Since i have seen some very good team mates before. While on the flip side, i have seen others that will stay in a locker, while we have two team mates on hook and i am being chased by the killer. Only after i go down, do they get the idea to come out of the locker. That or the time, everyone else kill themselves on first hook or dc. With me being the only person left and the killer, being a Freddy, showed mercy.
Well, certain games are going to be alot more fun. Of course to be fair, it might also take a bit for everyone to get use to the map changes. So some of that might be due to getting used to things, rather than well being a Meg head.
Look at this catastrophe
Left to reach 2nd stage, two teammates downed, and the last one self-caring (got downed shortly after I screenshotted)

Sometimes your worst enemy, is not the killer but your team mates.
Which it will be interesting to see how the updates effect solo queue. If it will turn the game into dark souls level of challenge, for these who go solo.
I adore Dark Souls because it's challenging.
Solo Teammates aren't a challenge, they are a hinderence. I've made it a rule to never again trust Megs because they tend to kill me the most.

Here's a game of me beating a group with two Object of Obsessions! I still remember this match fondly (NOED didn't go off by the way because we never reached Endgame)
Just in case that doesn't count, here's a game of me as Hag against another OoO group.

He is easiest Killer to get Deviousness on because I believe just hitting a Survivor who is awake triggers the event.
I'm pretty sure that only procs if you hit them after you teleport.

I would have to disagree with your pallet offering unless the default number of pallets on a map were slightly lowered. The problem that poses is it would completely destroy to working dynamic of most maps thus creating the need for a rework. Maps are already strong enough for survivors, adding extra pallets would cripple most killers.
I'v been tinkering with ideas on this topic lately, here a few I came up with.
Dead Bolt Lock(killer offering)- the hatch cannot be opened with a key
Jump Start(survivor offering)- Start the trial with one random generator at 15 percent repair progress. Does NOT stack.
Metal Detector(survivor offering)- Requirement for hatch spawn is reduced by one generator. Does NOT stack.
Book of Stamps(killer and survivor offering)- All in-game point score events are increased by 25 percent. Stacks
Smoke Grenade(killer and survivor offering)- Awards 150 percent bloodpoints to all players in the trial. Stacks
I'd also like to see the flower and dream catcher offerings stack for everyone in the trial. 3k, 4k, 5k points we have to spend on these offerings in the bloodweb is hardly worth the 1k, 2k, 3k max bloodpoint gain for maxing out the category, especially now that we have so many playable characters who require a massive amount of points each to progress.
I actually like some of your ideas for offerings, would be much more better than just another Luck Offering appearing in the Bloodweb. Also how is a Smoke Grenade a 150% Bonus offering?

Do you know why they replaced this? I read this post and thought it would be a much more simplified way of ranking and agreed with it other than it would likely lead to all killers becoming red ranks.
I think it's because it heavily rewarded camping and tunneling, as long as you can get some kills you'll be able to rank up which isn't ideal for the devs. The Emblem System forces you to play the game and entertain your opponents for longer rather than just efficiently destroy them.
-
That used to be the threshold called the Victory Cube, but they replaced it with the emblem system.

Maps, infinite loops are finally getting taken out, gen speeds slightly...
Killers have been quitting the killer role for months so the MMR is entirely askew and wholly unbalanced, but this next patch may bring some back if it ever freaking goes live. We'll hopefully have a better chance against SWF Team 6.
Does anyone solo queue anymore? Or rely on OP map-wide comms?
I solo queue. Though I admit sometimes I feel like quitting after seeing what my teammates does.

The singular "1" at the end made me think this is bait.

I'll just copy and paste what I said on another thread:
Facing Spirit and Freddy is fun, they actually pose a challenge to me as a Survivor. The only reason people don't like going against them however is because their power sometimes requires you to put more effort in than the killer themselves. And I feel like that's how facing a strong killer should feel like. How a strong killer should be. You need someone who understands Spirit and how she plays to counter her, to fool her during a loop or to beat her when she is faking her phase. And you need someone who constantly keeps Freddy busy and tear down his Fake Pallets and Snares so it'll be easier when being chased by him again.
It's not a 1v1, it forces Survivors to try be a 4v1. In a thread I made a while back, DBD right now feels like a 1v1v1v1v1 and I am very bothered by that. It's why I think playing Killer is easy right now, because solo survivors typically don't play the game as if it is a 4v1. It's a free-4-all.
Freddy forces a second objective, the Alarm Clocks, they force the survivor to choose either being vulnerable while asleep or risking waking up so it'll be easier for him to be chased around the map without the risk of being snared for 90 seconds. That's a full generator if you could keep Freddy busy for that long. Unless he can hit you during that duration, he is an M1 Killer. The game itself made it clear that staying asleep is horrible for you, that staying asleep is not advisable, that you should wake up when you can or wake up when it's no longer safe to be asleep.
As long as you are good enough you can keep Freddy busy before he even has a chance to use his power, he can waste 2 generators before he is even able to use his power on you if you start off wide awake. His Ultra Rare Add-ons are actually worth to use unlike certain other killers, and that's how Ultra Rare Add-ons should feel like. They should immediately feel like the Killer has a more crushing pressure from the start, and Survivors need to work harder to get out and escape.
And before anyone asks, I don't main Freddy, I suck at him. I don't know how to play him effectively. But I do know as a Survivor I always cheer whenever I see the clock at the bottom left of my screen. Because I want to see more killers like him, strong and effective, and forces me and my teammates to work harder to escape. To think differently to how we counter him compared to other killers.
Anyways, now that this is over, I'd like to also mention.
I know I am probably the odd one out here, I know the popular opinion is that Freddy is overpowered or braindead. But I feel like mentioning something.
Not everyone wants to play Survivor against a Killer they can easily understand and counter. Some of us actually want to feel like we earned our escape, to sometimes sacrifice others or yourself so that some of the group may escape. If Freddy is overpowered and braindead, then the Freddy killers I have been facing must be really braindead because they haven't been able to easily get more than 2 kills. But then again, that is just my experience.

I will say something literally almost everyone in this thread will disagree with.

I love the McDonalds Double Cheeseburger back from where I used to live before moving to Australia.
The one here just isn't the same, it's not as tasty. :(
-
There are some cheaters on PC (Heck, Monto just showcased one in his latest video), but it's not as common as you might think. Unless you live in a region where cheaters prosper, then that might be a problem.
-
I think that is just Dead by Daylight logic.
-
The problem is, with DBD, players from both side of the aisle has a certain ego attached to them.
I know rank doesn't matter, but I know some friends who HATES to depip, like hate it with a passion. They think it's humiliating that they depipped, even though no one asked if they depipped or not.
So while yes, most of the complaints tend to be based on people's lack of skill (The amount of complaints against Freddy, Spirit, NoeD, SWF teams, flashlights and DS just solidifies that). Some people just won't listen because they don't want to be told they need to "Git Gud". They think they already are, and are unwilling to get better.
-
Well, I kinda expected Spirit to be high up based on how this forum tends to be.
This was quite the pleasant surprise.
-
You are definitely new, welcome to Dead by Daylight!
Get used to Survivors looping around a structure because that is one of the most eficient ways for them to waste the Killer's time.
-
There is one I personally use, but I don't think I am allowed to share it, as @FireHazard has mentioned, it isn't supported by BHVR.
But, I'm sure after knowing it exists, you should be able to find it for yourself.
-
Nope.
Even if they 5 genned and got dominated, getting BP is more important to me.
-
This has been suggested before.
I don't think it would work personally because:
- The Survivors could just watch for the killer and see where he came from or where he is heading, meaning it's already obvious where the Hex totem is.
- The Killer can also just place it in the most disgusting totem spawns in the map, making it absolutely impossible for the Survivors to find it. Like the spawn Otzdarva showcased in his latest video with Devour Hope.
The idea of a Hex perk is that it's a High Risk, High Reward perk. It's powerful but the Survivors can deactivate it at any time if they find out about it. If the Killer can decide where to place the Hex Totem, then it removes that part of "High Risk".

Sure,that would be possible too.
I just thought of healing someone as another way of gaining WGLF tokens because it would still be in the altruistic category.
Actually that would be better, it could even give you two stacks on the double with a Safe Unhook AND a full heal.

You nailed it here, people on BOTH sides find everything excuse in the book why they lost and it’s never just “I got outplayed.”
That killer had NOED, or Iri hatchet, or forever freddy boring build, or insta saw billy, or played as Spirit she’s so OP it’s free 4k
Those survivors were obviously SWF, they had a toolbox, they all had DS, they body locked, and on and on.
I think DBD just has a certain ego attached to it. It's easier to get yourself lost in it because of how the game is like.
"I beat 4 other players! I'm obviously smarter than them!"
"We beat the overpowered killer! Go team!"
Obvious sarcasm of course.

That may be true but,you will have to go out of your way to get a stack like that and waste valuable time.
Also killers get their tokens with BBQ just by doing their objective, they don't have to go out of their way to get tokens
I do agree that it's possible WGLF could be gained through other means other than just Protection and Safe Unhooks.
Maybe doing a generator? Because there's only 5 in the whole map.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
Make it easier to get tokens as well.Maybe healing a survivor a full health state could reward a token too.
My idea originally was to reveal the aura of every survivor and the killer whenever someone gets hooked for 4 seconds to make WGLF work similiar to BBQ,but your idea would be great too.
With the next patch, it will be easier to get tokens. Protection hits will be easier to obtain.

I've been having a ton of fun playing her, and I just started learning.

Some of you guys wouldn't last a day in Halo 2 circa 2005.
Well, times have changed, I guess.
I personally am not bothered by people t-bagging or BMing during my killer games (I mean I kinda do that anyways to attract the killer's attention as a Solo survivor). But some people do find it bothersome and it might negatively effect their experience playing the game. I know a friend who has never played many games in her life, and she is really bothered by how disrespectful some players tend to be, not just with t-bagging.
And it's in the dev's best interest to make sure everyone has the best possible experience, because it is their game, they're paying money for it. Not just on the game, but on DLCs and Cosmetics. So of course they would want their customers to be happy, rather than frustrated.
-
Is a Totem Counter really that much of a controversial topic to discuss?
I honestly think even if they added it most Solos still won't care, it's just those Solos that frequent this forum that will get the most use out of it because those Solos tend to be the one who gets the short end of the stick when it comes to Hex perks.
