Mb by killer? I don't think u want survivor slap each other.

Everything else seems fine to me.

Pin was still 55 roughly like all the others, just picked more as he was the newest chapter added to the game. Usually how the stats go with a new release

    Also

They count DCs. And Pinhead had a DC bug.

No I'm referring to the fact that people cling to their meta perks while complaining the meta is stale, and would have an aneurysm if ruin or pop or bt or dh got nerfed even if base game mechanics got changed to make the defualt experience better

Ah, if that's the case then yeah I agree with you wholeheartedly.

    Except it didn't.

I was stuck with a never ending bardage of sweaty seal team teabags as a killer under the old system.

    Now my games feel fair.

    So something must be working.

    "Something must be working"?

After all of this you want to rely on faith that "something must be working"?

The meta is so stale. Wait- wait what are doing? No stop changing things- no, no stOP-

If you were referring to Boon Totems, I'm actually someone who was defending their inclusion in the game.

I just want something new in this game. But I also still want to have fun with it.

  • I'm actually rather disappointed. The start of the match is usually one of the most boring parts of the match. As both sides, I want to see this happen because I don't care if I escape or not. I just wanna have fun.

With Early GC maybe then we could look onto the Killer meta and shake it up, maybe Survivor meta could also be different.

But no. Sucks this ######### community doesn't want anything to change in this game.

There were some genuine "no"s, some soon™s were more concrete than others, and also I had to write that massive essay on how MMR FUNCITONS.

Yeah that didn't look fun to explain.

I hope (hahaha) BHVR changes how the MMR works in the future.

So it has been revealed the one key feature to a high MMR : Survive.

You can unhook 59 survivors, loop for 7 minutes, repair 28 generators. That doesn't matter. Get tunnelled and you're a rank 20 according to MMR.

Be in a locker all match and get hatch : Be part of the top MMR elite!

Hide and blend all game, let everyone die, don't risk anything, loot, bring plunderer's bring keys. Be the elite of Dead by Daylight.

    Hatch doesn't affect MMR.

Well you can’t dictate how other people play. Just run perks that you think are fun.

No, I know I can't dictate how other people play. But you know how RIDICULOUSLY FRUSTRATING it is that you are told to "play how you want" and you can never find opportunities to "play how you want"?

I don't want to play against the same meta perks over and over again, I don't want to die first on hook because I tried to make my build work. I don't want to feel like I'm abandoning my teammates because the Killer brought perks that makes it basically impossible for me to save them without perks like BT.

If you play the game casually, then I don’t see why any of this upsets you. Play and enjoy, regardless if you win or lose. But the fact is that if you want to win, you shouldn’t be able to do so with minimal effort. You need to sweat if you are playing against other human beings.

I don't enjoy certain aspects about the game, whether it being right now or upcoming in the new mid-chapter update.

Overall, the game's meta is incredibly stale and boring. And I am sick and tired of seeing the same perks on either side on every killer.

I play the game casually, so I care most about what is fun and exciting for me. So seeing the same perks every game and have basically the same experience every game is incredibly boring for me and it's pushing me away from the game.

This isn't a both sides issue. Survivors are not the ones running around making giant complicated whine threads about how every killer is a terrible player that needs their hand held and having most of the survivors on the forum mass upvote it as if what was said is profound. How about instead of making threads like this you call out these killers(And sure, if you see a survivor doing it call them out too.)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2547752#Comment_2547752

Nope. I like the Wraith nerf(Already preparing to be dogpiled for that opinion too.) But I have also supported nerfing Boons and even Dead Hard. Biased my ass.

Threads like these are meant to call out all of those kinds of threads.

All I wanna do is have fun in this game. And there's no point playing the blame game on this. It doesn't matter who the ######### makes the threads. I'm just tired of all the useless squabbling that happens on either side.

Yeah, then I would change you can use it healthy too...

I can agree with that. Now Dead Hard's only requirement is that you're injured. Removing i-frames and allowing you to use it anytime you want without even being injured imo wouid still keep the perk's viability while making it less annoying

  • I know this is a joke answer but...

God, I'd want him to mow down survivors with heavy weapons

  • Remove the i-Frames, gives the perk more distance and it will be a fine exhaustion perk to use.

The issue with Dead Hard is the invincibility it gives you. It's already strong to use for distance, the fact you can dodge projectiles and swings with it is a bit much.

I'm saying this as someone who avidly uses Dead Hard in their survivor games.

  • @Aneurysm said:

Bhvr were also naive to think changing the appearance and names of ranks would get players to understand that they aren't used for matchmaking anymore.

I played a survivor game the other day, we all died. Another survivor was angry we were all silver and gold but the killer was iri 1. I tried to explain, he didn't get it.

Two game later I play killer, one particularly salty survivor says she hopes I enjoy being stuck in gold forever. I tried to explain, she didn't get it and called me a gold noob (half true, I am in fact an iri noob now)

So for the surprisingly high amount of people who ranks mattered to, grades also do because half the playerbase seems to still think they're used for matchmaking as well as a reflection of your elite dbd skills.

BHVR needs to make this very clear in the game and also overhaul how the pipping system works.

Not the matchmaking, how PIPPING works. Because right now Pipping doesn't encourage you to do anything but play as mercilessly as meta as possible. Because if you want to get Iridescent on Gatekeeper, you need a lot of gen regression. If you want to get Iridescent on Devout, you are going to need to tunnel one person out to get a chance of farming the remaining 6 hooks for the 9 hook bonus out of the remaining 3 survivors. If you want to get Iridescent on Hunting, you need to CONSTANTLY chase survivors and ending chases quickly. Which IMMEDIATELY runs counter to the other Iridescent category, Malicious. If you want to get Iridescent on that, you better make damn well sure you aren't instadowning anyone and hitting them as much as possible.

Same with Survivors, but it's EVEN WORSE for Survivors.

If you want to get Iridescent Chaser, you need to get in chase. But getting in chase means you won't be able to do gens and get Lightbringer points, but doing gens all the time means you most likely won't be going out there and healing and rescuing survivors for Benevolent. But if you're going for Benevolent you're most likely also trading yourself to save someone who might be proxy camped and oh look, you can't get Iridescent Unbroken anymore.

The Emblem system is just so dumb because it doesn't reward players playing with common sense. It rewards players for actions in the game that could even be DETRIMENTAL to the players because of the playstyles it encourages.

I still support the idea of MMR in DBD, but I don't support it alongside the current Grades/Emblem System

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2546594#Comment_2546594

Oh, but just to clarify, I'm under the impression that MMR is actually the same system with slightly modified criteria, just not one that resets monthly. I mean, they had to start with a baseline somewhere, right?

I agree, they had to get the data from somewhere. And supposedly, it should've naturalized because the data we got from the Emblem System was essentially junk data.

Except it didn't. Because we still rely on that data, because we still feed the MMR from that exact same system with the Emblem System.

  • Honestly a trans flag would be so cool to have.

  • I have another theory as to why MMR is like this.

It's not that they're disguising it as the old ranking system.

It is the old Emblem System.

I go into more detail on the thread I made for it

    @DelsKibara said:

Hear me out for a second.

I think I found out why MMR might be putting people against survivors/killers that are better than them even if they are "playing normally".

I think the Emblem System is screwing up people's MMR because the Grades are still very much dependent on it. So you can't just realistically play how you would want to play if you want to get Iridescent 1. And yes, I know grades don't matter for some people. But it is the only thing close to a win condition for this game.

I feel like this is a massive oversight. There needs to be something else that rewards pips than the Emblem system. Because right now if you play casually or you don't care for kills, you're punished with your grades. Even if you don't "depip below a grade", you're still incentivizing people to run as much meta ######### as possible. Clogging up high MMR.

But basically... With how Grades incentivize you to play a certain way, high MMR is becoming full of players who should not be there purely because of how it allegedly functions. Survivors increase MMR by escaping, Killers by getting 4ks. And Killers at 1900 MMR gets 1700 MMR for everyone else.

Right now, Grades are the old Emblem System. And because of this, it's causing everyone's MMR to be manipulated or artificially inflated. Because I assume even casual players wants to get to Iridescent 1 because it's supposed to be more about playtime rather than skill.

But with how the old Emblem System works... That isn't really possible. Since the old Emblem System also encourages you to play according to the pipping/emblem system.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Grades are still a competitive metric. So, no, it makes sense that they are tied in with MMR, even if it's just a correlation.

You want to get Iridescent? You need to do well. You do well? You get harder opponents. And unlike Grades, MMR doesn't reset. So long as you keep going for, and reaching, the Iridescent Grade every reset, you're going to keep getting harder and harder matches.

    But that is my point.

Grades were pretty much advertised as how much you played the game rather than how well you played.

    2021-10-07 01_09_37-Developer Update _ September 2021 — Dead By Daylight.png

Since Grades aren't supposed to be a measure of skill or competition since MMR is supposed to handle that from now on.

Ironically, the fact that Grades uses pips as a system overrules MMR. I can't believe I am saying this, but I think BHVR may have unintentionally created a system that is exactly identical to the previous system. Though that is me giving them the benefit of doubt.

People will go for the closest thing to a win condition they have. And the fact that we still use the Emblem System for Grades means people play in ways that increase pips rather than playing how you would normally want to play.

It might be the reason why High MMR feels bloated similarly to how Rank 1 in the old system feels like. Because everyone is going for pips. And what do you need for pips?

Escaping as Survivor = Iridescent/Gold Unbroken

Killing as Killer = Iridescent Devout

While I still find the leaks for how the MMR works to be under some doubt, assuming they are real, the game is actively encouraging people to play in such a way that is detrimental to how MMR should work. Since Killers allegedly increases their MMR by getting a 3/4k within 10-15 minutes. And survivors allegedly increase their MMR by surviving or decrease it by dying.

I feel like this is a MASSIVE oversight on BHVR's part. Pips should not be a measure of actions in game if the goal is to play "how we want to play". Because the Emblem system is, as we ALL can agree, unhealthy for the game and completely unintuitive as a means of a win condition.

It actively punishes you if you do not farm the survivors out of 9 hooks, it actively punishes you even if you got downed once and not hooked.

The Emblem/Pipping system needs to be completely overhauled so MMR actually naturalizes without this system clashing with MMR.

  • Please. I want anything to lessen the grind.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Instead of averaging the groups MMR, it should take the MMR of the highest ranked player and use that for all survivors.

This might discourage people who play with newbies.

Although.. Maybe it could also be an average of everyone's MMR, times a multiplier to the MMR.

    2 Survivors is 1.2x, 3 Survivors, 1.4x, and 4 survivors, 1.6x.

Say your MMR is 1500 on your survivor and your teammate is 750.

That means your average MMR is 1125 x 1.2, or 1350.

    Same with four survivors.

    If a 4-man has 1900, 1500, 1200, 900.

Instead of 1375 which is what it is averaged, it would be 2200.

  • @TAG said:

I think until a proper WIN CONDITION is hammered out, we're never going to have a proper focal point to balance around.

Just talked to people I played with about this.

The devs needs to define a clear win condition. Even if DBD is a casual game, as long as that doesn't exist, this game will have a rough time.

It doesn't even need to deviate from what we already have too.

Killers needs to kill, but the Entity wants to feed.

So instead of the hook system we have right now, what if there is a threshold to how much the Entity is "fed" based on how many times a Survivor is hooked? 3 hooks still kills a survivor. But getting into stage 2 on your first hook doesn't reward as much as finding and hooking someone a second time after giving the Entity a "varied" meal. Meaning you are encouraged to go after different survivors to fill out that threshold.

We can also ditch the Emblem System in favour of filling out this meter. You get 2 pips if you get 80% of the meter filled for example.

Not only that, we also know the Entity loves the hunt. It wants us to toy with the survivors. So it would reward the chase as well as the hunt. If you can keep finding survivors, you get rewarded. If you can keep downing survivors in a chase, you get rewarded. But if you let them go by letting them off your grasp, or letting them sluglged for too long to be rescued. You can get punished for it.

As for Survivors, you would need to do actions that increase their "Hope". Since that is what the Entity feeds on. So doing generators, healing others, thwarting the Killers by doing totems and escaping chases. Stuff that gives the Survivors hope for survival. And this way, you can go all game just being the designated chaser or saver and not do gens or get killed in the end and still win when the game is over.

Because you did enough for your team for you to help them escape.

In my opinion, this system is MUCH better than what we have right now with the Emblem System and gives you a designated win condition. Because in my opinion, "winning" is pipping up in a game.

With the winning condition being how much "hopeful" the survivors can get to escape and how much the Killer "feeds" the Entity. We can balance the game around more than just a Kill/Escape ratio. Because even if Survivors die in 75% of matches. As long as the majority of them "win" their games by doing enough to contribute to the team to help 1 or 2 survivors escape a harrowing death it should be good enough.

This way we can start buffing perks that helps towards that game state and Killers can feel like the threatening monsters they are.

Obviously it's not perfect. But a clear win condition is DESPERATELY needed for this game.

    A. The new ads is not something you can simply adjust to it's incredibly restrictive on turning movement. The shots you could have previously actually hit but can't now is going to mean extra loops and more expense of time the thing slinger doesn't have.

    B. The zoning is heavily dependent on packing ads movement add on's so now he's an add on dependent killer akin to myer's and his stalk add on's. Other then that many survivors will be able to do the same thing they have previously been doing to beat slingers putting distance and los blocker between you and him.

    C. The terror radius often meant you can get fast down's because your opening shots didn't always have to be with your harpoon. Now your losing more time shooting, reeling, reloading, shooting, reeling, reloading.

    D. the stun reduction is the only nice thing I can say about the changes but it does little to nothing to stop the time being hemorrhaged by all this clunky trash mechanics.

The slinger game's I won were the one's I actively shot my gun and landed my shots. The slinger games I lost were the one's I spent trying this nonsense zoning crap. Not only that but you have no idea how tight your shots get against better survivors. They never give you an angle unless its a brief second on top of your slow ms this makes slinger frustratingly difficult to play. The quick scope meant you can thread that needle.

If your actively prepping your ranged weapon in advance, have a breakable chain, limited range, I ask the same damn question every time why not huntress? Sell me on slinger tell me how he differentiates himself in a way that makes him stand out.

Even with current Slinger, really good survivors will not give you LOS. And if they do, it's a split second.

You want to get a long shot on large open maps? Good ######### luck, with how tight his projectile is sometimes it feels like you phase through survivors.

Indoor maps with lots of corridors is why I don't think quickscoping should be taken away. It's so hard to get a moment's grace to land a shot when survivors can turn the corner on you before you can even land a hit.

1 2 3 4 5 … 55
