I love The Game and don't want it to be disabled again (I'm in the minority on this, I don't care) but something should definitely be done about unbreakable pallets. That should never be allowed to occur. Turn the map off for the three minutes it would take to delete that pallet and then put the pallet back in some other time when you figure out what the problem was.

A real quick fix would be to just remove those spots as possible pallet spawn points. But considering this wasn't always an issue. I don't understand how hard it is to just go back to the old layouts that actually worked properly.

Yeah honestly RPD is the worst map so far, and I thought BHVR couldn't get any worse than with Hawkins, ha.

In all seriousness though, did BHVR even playtest it before releasing the chapter? I would think they play a few matches with every killer to see how a map feels before releasing it to the public, so who the ######### played RPD as a killer and thought "Yes, this is fine" its honestly incomprehensible for me.

Hillbilly, Nurse, Huntress, Demogorgon, Oni, Deathslinger, Trickster and Blight (unless you're literally a god blight player) are incredibly affected by the layout of the map. That's over 1/4 of the killer roster that can't properly perform on that map. And if that weren't enough, literally every other killer is also affected just by the size of the map itself.

I will never understand how BHVR could green light a map like this. Like, I knew they don't play their game, but this was such a confirmation

I agree with the rest, but Demogorgon is strong on this map. His portals have plenty of blind spots to sneak up on survivors during undetectable. His pounce is garunteed in corridors cause they're so narrow. His ability to see heartbeats is incredibly useful on a map where hiding is a lot easier than normal. And unlike most mobility killers, his map traversal isn't brutally gutted by the map layout.

  • I think it's almost entirely dependent on the killer whether this is a breeze or a nightmare for survivors. Those narrow corridors severely help killers like Demogorgon and Twins, yet the sharp turns are cripping for killers like Huntress or Trickster. Stealth killers have their natural indoor advantage, while mobility killers are crippled like usual. Nemesis is right at home here since his zombies in those corridors are utterly brutal.

  • I don't know if the new matchmaking actually affected the quality of my teammates. But it does seem to make rank reset have less of an impact on quality as the previous matchmaking did. If it's affected killer queue times, I certainly haven't noticed. Does it only affect queue times for low ranking killers? Cause at my mmr, I'm not seeing anything different. Mornings are still as slow as they were so I play survivor, and nights I still get killer games almost instantly.

I haven't actually played dbd this week so I didn't realise how badly this challenge was bugged. Here's an alternative path that can avoid this challenge for a little bit.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UGQF8NXLP2PH/sketch-1631829316794.png

I don't think that path avoids the problem challenge.

Self care is legit a harmful drug and should be banned :^)

So that person didn't risk them going down with you and you're blaming them. The irony is people like you often say this stuff in situations where self care probly would have saved you in the first place.

  • I was wondering if there was a problem with this. Unfortunately Engineer's is a gateway for the most optimal path I've found for saving bloodpoints so this is inconvenient. Also probly why there's no bloodpoint saving post for section 4 yet.

  • @KerJuice said:

I have encountered some really nasty builds out there, that don’t require hexes- so I’m definitely not sharing. I had to give it up to the killers for having such a devastating yet unique build. Complete nightmares to go against. I definitely don’t want the masses to catch on. At least with this, you can do totems. But yea, this is definitely a good one. Did y’all make it out lol?

Indeed. Let's definitely not mention Agitation and Starstruck on Doctor.

  • I'm closing in myself. See you in the fancy pants lands!

    achieveProgress.png

  • You're probly using his power at the wrong time if you think it's weak. If the survivor is in front of you in the open, just punch them. His power is for vaults and pallets. And once he gets to tier 2, it's insanely strong at pallets; even if you miss the survivor, you destroy the pallet.

  • @Impose said:

Unfortunately this is just a "welcome to the Game." The map after its rework is a bananas survivor sided map that has, depending on its rng, upwards of 5 god pallets, the vault drop, loops with double pallets, two god windows, the basement double pallet, and several safe pallets/loops that can be extended.

Pinhead simply cannot handle it. He's not a good killer, has basically no map pressure, and safe pallets absolutely ruin him. Your only hope really is to luck out on a 3 gen and tunnel a survivor out of the game asap, while trying to control center top gen near stairs so you can have easy movement

. Few killers can handle that map. Pinhead is not one of them. Nurse and Spirit really are the only ones that can do it. Blight struggles on that map. Oni can struggle on that map. Pyramid Head can struggle on that map. Spirit can even struggle on that map depending on RNG. Nurse really is the only killer who doesn't mind that map simply due to the fact she can invalidate the god pallets and vault drop. And even then she's VERY hard to play on that map as you cannot aim down cancel your blinks and the sheer amount of walls/ups/downs can bork with your locations.

My honest advice, anytime you play on that map as killer, don't go into it with high hopes. You'll just get frustrated after you've broken your 13th pallet.

I'd suggest stealth killers over Nurse and Spirit on the Game. There are a number of killers that benefit from a lack of line of sight and they're strong on indoor maps.

Yeah, interesting how other hex perks are decidedly linked to Undying.

...in this case, Undying was coupled with Haunted and not the other hex (Plaything) that was equipped in Pinhead’s build.

It’s a wonder if certain hex perks take precedence over others when multiple hexes are used with Undying, or if it’s all just equally random🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm pretty sure Undying just restores whatever hex was cleansed first.

  • It still adds all 3 chains? I never used it on injured survivors. I thought it only did 1 chain.

  • @Seraphor said:

    Maybe, stop worrying about MMR.

Who cares if that players MMR is raised because they escaped with a key? 1. It's a single match, it probably won't make much of a difference. 2. They're only shooting themselves in the foot is they do it intentionally, because MMR only serves matchmaking, leading to harder matches for that survivor.

MMR isn't a medal to brag about, or a goal to achieve, or something to get jealous about, it's literally just the matchmaking algorithm, working in the background, to try to match players with similarly skilled opponents.

MMR being about matchmaking is exactly why a less skilled effort shouldn't increase their rating as much.

  • People don't seem to understand how incredibly powerful aura perks are. Even for swf players, they're super strong. Contrary to whatever you may be told, swf players don't magically know where their teammates are all the time. The best they can do to quickly find each other is to meet up at certain landmarks. While a totem counter being basekit only affects NOED, Bond and Kindred being basekit would be extremely powerful in all situations. This would be like the killer being able to see any time a gen or totem is being worked on.

  • Damn those selfish killers who don't abandon the endgame hook and their best chance at securing more points. They should go to the 99% gate where they can't possibly stop the survivors there and then allow other survivors to unhook safely and body block so that all the survivors get an easy escape.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I want to p3 & every perk every survivor & killer mostly because i'm gonna play anyway so might as well have something to aim for.

Would also like every achievement but I think a couple are probably beyond me without serious farming which I don't do as a killer.

& pretty much to hopefully have a 50% escape streak playing all survivors using only their adept perks (already above that so that's something)

Ah, that's the same as me. I actually got to the point where I had all killers at P3 with all T3 perks unlocked around a year ago. But every time they add a new killer it gets harder and harder to do. I still haven't managed to P3 all the survivors yet. I think I'm only at 5 of them. And I only have all T3 perks on Bill.

I apparently lucked out with the achievements by doing the most difficult ones back when they weren't as difficult. Now I'm down to Taking One for the Team and the 3 new Hellraiser ones that got added.

  • This is one of the reasons the Not Today achievement is such a bad idea. If it was just 5 times, I could understand. But 50 times just encourages toxic gameplay on a long term basis.

I am quite sure they removed them because they were procing to give early stuns with hit validation which was cucking you out of a hit even when they scream and spray blood... And it would inform them of exposed perks despite you apparently not hitting them.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I've never actually seen it happen. But if you can get pallet stunned on the same side of the pallet as the survivor and it negates the hit, that would be ridiculous.

  • I'm amazed at how many people are saying Trapper would win. If he's starting with a reverse bear trap on his head, then he's kind of screwed from the get go. Especially if you take Amanda's personality into account and that she wouldn't provide him an actual means of escaping it. Trapper is pretty much dead in this scenario. I think he has more chance of a draw by killing Amanda as well rather than actually winning.

Healed myself, kller hit me, I healed up using medkit, killer hit me, healed using medkit. Did that on repeat until medkit ran out first time, stopped healing, waited for built to last to replenish 50% of the medkit after 10 seconds, continued healing with medkit, killer hit me, repeat until it ran out second time. Medkit ran out of charges second time at the end of my ninth self-heal using only the medkit.

I also made sure the killer had a completely empty loadout, only the 4 survivor perks were brought in.

Lol, I didn't expect anybody to go this far with it. That's cool.

I don't think that's a good thing. Modern day horror is just cheap jump scares and both games had a hand in that.

Gotta love the way people make snide comments about "cheap jump scares" in an attempt to devalue something like FNaF while simultaneously trying to imply that classic horror movie franchises are of excellent value. The double standard is ridiculous.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

150? You have that high of a failure rate? Did you mix up Deliverance with Slippery Meat by accident?

It's probly because I'm not capable of being a complete jerk. If you did this in close to 50 games, you're either lucky as all hell or you screwed the hell out of your teams.

  • The annoying thing is that half the maps seem to lack a great height fall. I honestly just jumped off the edge of stairs in shack into lower staircase in basement just to get some progress which gave the killer a free smack.

A lot of falls just don't count towards that challenge.

  • Actually, after another game, the counter went up. For some reason, there was a lot more lag updating this achievement than the rest of the achievements I've been working on recently so I just thought it didn't count.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

    Where Did They Go!?

As a near-exclusive solo player, this was an absolute pain. I eventually got it out of the blue, and out of sheer luck. Truly a case of “the stars need to align”.

I also got that one by pure luck. There was a bug in the game a long time back where instead of survivors getting that achievement when all 4 survivors escaped through the hatch, the killer would get it instead. I've since 4 man escaped through hatch a few times so I wouldn't say it's too far in the difficulty range. Especially not if you do it with SWF and a rainbow map in addition to a key.

  • @Jacoby2041 said:

I used Slippery Meat and Up the Ante for that one, even though it's not a guaranteed chance it's better than having to unhook someone first

The 24+ meter Huntress downs was super hard/annoying to get. The worst part is that you have to DOWN them with the hatchet, not just hit them. So any snipe shot against a healthy person doesn't count. To get this one I pretty much had to play friendly or get an afk person and snipe/drop them a bunch. If it wasn't for that workaround I'd say this would be the worst one

Gen/totem grabs and pallet saves are also hard because you pretty much have to rely on the other team making a mistake. But it only takes 5 pallet saves which isn't too bad, and Power Struggle self-saves count. On the other hand 25 gen grabs and 10 totem grabs are not so easy. Not to mention there's a chance that instead of grabbing them the killer will just tap them on the shoulder and count to 3 while they run away. Maybe there's some strategy I haven't thought of yet but I'm sitting at 6 out of 10 totem grabs, not even sure how I managed to get that many

250 protection hits for an unhooked person is difficult not only due to the number required, but mainly because protection hits are buggy as ######### even after they "fixed" them. I can get what should be a protection hit and it not count 70% of the time. Add on that it's not just a regular protection hit but a protection hit "near a recently unhooked survivor" and it might as well be 500

Edit: forgot to mention Evil Incarnate is a ######### because people can deny you from getting it, 3 blink Nurse grab achievement was invented before Nurse got changed and it's way harder to do now, and Left for Dead achievement is also outdated because it was invented before EGC was even a thing and there was a perk to help with it (for those who don't know, Left Behind used to give you BIG gen repair speed when you were the last survivor before they changed it) it's basically rigged to be impossible now unless the killer lets you go

Power Struggle works for the Rescue Mission achievement? That's actually one of 3 achievements I don't have yet so that's helpful information.

I'm surprised so many people are having problems with the Skilled Huntress Achievement though. Is the Nurse's Calling trick not well known? Nurse's calling t3 has a rage of 28 meters while the achievement requirement is 24 meters. For me, it was just a matter of enough games with open maps. Especially maps with a high up vantage point to through from.

  • I forgot about Left 4 Dead though. I did it before the hatch rework so it was easier for me with the killers just camping the hatch. I guess it would be a nightmare to do nowadays.

  • Are people actually complaining about pre dropping pallets? This is the preference for pretty much all killers. Doc and Clown are the only ones I can think of that might have reasons not to like it, but they can just smash through and continue on just like every other killer would.

  • @Astrian said:

    Run Ruin.

Never kick a gen again in your life

Survivors running Blast Mine / Repressed Alliance now have 3 perks instead of 4

    GG

They really are doing what they can to make Ruin the main killer perk again.

  • I hate to say it, but your connection is probly better than the servers themselves. BHVR didn't really go all out for their servers.

  • I finally accomplished it by hooking a survivor right next to an exit gate after gens were powered. They opened the gate, I waited for them to move in for the unhook. Then I threw yellow at the gate entrance and purple at the hook. After so much carefully planned attempts to get them to run certain ways or whatever, this is the only thing that worked for me. This challenge is way too hard for something that intentionally hinders you.

  • Does anybody have any advice for that first clown challenge? Not only is it incredibly self destructive, it's also surprisingly difficult to pull off. The only way I can get it done is be getting survivors to loop around a pallet and putting both kinds of gases in their path, but I'm at red ranks and survivors at these ranks won't loop against a clown cause of experience.

  • The primary problem with Huntress hatches is the server lag rather than the hitboxes. DbD needs more/better servers.

  • If he's spamming shock, it should actually be rather easy to unhook in front of him. That ability has a very easy to time cooldown.

  • NOED has 3 counters

    1) Cleansing all 5 totems ahead of time

    2) Cleansing the NOED totem after gates are powered

    3) When it's blatantly obvious that NOED is now in effect, don't screw around with the killer and just get out

The fact that some people don't want to do any of the above is a failure on their part moreso than NOED's.

  • It originally meant that the killer is camping. Nowadays people don't seem to understand that, but I just treat it as if that's the case. If somebody's waving their arms, I just stick on the generator. Hopefully, people will learn the meaning of that movement eventually.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Only thing he needs is removing the speed boost from infecting survivors and a slight buff to his mutation rate gain while also nerfing the addons accordingly.

Some addon changes to make them more useful would also be great. It's just kinda sad that he doesn't have any really good addons

I wonder what rarity it would be worth if there was an addon that spawned new zombies next to generators exclusively.

  • I find Nemesis rather well balanced. You should probly only be using his power through windows and pallets and regular hits otherwise.

  • I might not mind this survivor buff if it didn't come with other powerful survivor buffs but not a single survivor nerf or killer buff when the killer is already at a disadvantage in general. They really could afford to do something about SWF after 4 years now.

  • @GoshJosh said:

This on top of NOED, Blood Warden, and the about-to-be-buffed No Way Out would just be oppressive. While the trial isn't over yet, survivors have completed their primary objective up to that point. There shouldn't be some massive sway against the direction the match is headed. Which is why NOED gets so much hate.

Oh, I forgot about No Way Out. But even with it, I don't see the killer being able to get more than 4 hits in normal circumstances before the switch is unblocked. Hell, it'll probly still be a struggle to get more than 2. Especially if you're using NOED which just lowers the amount of hits you can get. To be honest, Deerstalker or Nurse's would be more powerful than NOED in that build if you're going to focus on getting hits instead of getting your safety hook.

  • Iron Maiden only speeds up the locker opening and closing animation. His knife grabbing animation seems more time consuming than Huntress' hatchet grabbing animation so I don't think Iron Maiden would even be much of a time save on him.

  • I think the biggest problem with the chat filter is the morons who decided what gets censored. It should also be optional.

  • I didn't even realize there was a grab challenge. But yeah, those things are impossible playing normally at red ranks. So I just down a survivor and then take them to a gen and keep dropping them till they get released and hope they work on the gen in front of me.

  • @Nathan13 said:

keys are getting nerfed I just wonder why it's taking so long and does anyone know how they're getting changed??

I don't know how they're getting changed, but the only reasonable change I can think about is adding a charge time to opening the hatch like opening a chest.

  • I haven't actually had a single survivor game against the Trickster yet. I spent about 5 games playing as Trickster and moved to survivor to see what it was like to play against him and still haven't managed to see it. To think that a new killer could be this unpopular is almost impressive.

I'd argue behaving as if everything is yours to do with as you see fit, regardless of what the owners want, is worse.

Getting a power for Jason would be as simple as looking at his own game and pulling ideas. Teleporting using the mist; walking right through dropped pallets and breakable walls; seeing survivors' auras for a set period of time. They could all be power ideas, and none of them were OP in F13th, a game that survivors only had one chance in once the already rare pocket knives ran out. But yeah, someone would find some reason to call map pressure OP.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2002016#Comment_2002016

    You got it backward, buddy.

Miller only has the rights to Jason a child which isn't the iconic killer DbD would use. It should be possible for BHVR to get the rights to the adult killer Jason. However, the one way to garuntee a copyright dispute would be to balantantly rip off the F13 game.

  • I thought saying survivors should get 5 perks was going to be the most insane thing from the original post. But who the hell told you that overall the community here is good? This is probly the most toxic community I've ever seen in a game.

  • There were so many better options. This was the laziest thing they could have done. While it's better now than it used to be, what's utterly ridiculous is the rarity of an offering that has been reduced to an aesthetic. If it's not actually going to help, then the rarities should be brown, yellow, and green.

1 2 3 4 … 31
