Why are huntress's hatchets circles

It doesn't make sense i can vault a window and some how get hit threw the window all because her hatchets are circular it doesn't make sense.

Comments

  • yes it does. its swirling in a circular motion goes through the window and hits you

  • Because if they dare touch Huntress she won't hit anything, as it happened once.

  • I think Huntress watched that movie Wanted and learned to curve her hatchets.

Swirling in a circular direction on one axis isn't a reason for it to be a beachball.

Iirc they tried to make it an accurate hatchet box then but for some reason they've never tried a very squished cylinder. Not publicly anyway

they also hit through wall and around corners (no joke)

this game is buggy af and killer sided ( if u think otherwise check the stats)

been like that for years prob never changes

Sorry, you're complaining that a projectile attack... went over the window with you?

Huntress' latency problems are something to complain about, but that is an intended feature. Every projectile in the game can hit you when they vault the window. How is this even an argument?

Probably because, if they try to do that, something else will break.

  • They once adjusted the hitboxes to match the hatchet's model, but it suddenly became a lot harder to hit their shots so all the Huntress mains complained and it got reverted.

  • the hitboxes are not circular

as a matter of fact, they are actually like this

  • The primary problem with Huntress hatches is the server lag rather than the hitboxes. DbD needs more/better servers.

  • Huntress problems is just BHVR being Cheap with servers. Same with Stalking on Myers and Ghostface and GF's Reveal Mechanic.

Why not? They literally work fine for those two barring usual latency issues.

Huntress' code is probably outdated so I'm guessing that's why but that really shouldn't stop them

It's actually spinning in all directions forming the perfect beachball, what you see is just an illusion such motion creates.

So when the hatchet spins like this and most if not all similar weapons irl spin like this (such as a tomohawk), less risk throwing wrong and seriously miss target, it actually does spin a full 360° while staying perfectly on target?

    Polish_20210809_173122156.jpg

Now, I'd suggest trying some weapon throwing out because not only is it quite fun but you can also see that if you threw a weapon such that it were to spin 360° in the air, it would also never be able to consistently hit a target directly in front of it like the hatchets do.

There is, therefore, absolutely no reason for the hatchet to have a beachball shaped hitbox when a very squashed cylinder works perfectly.

Just keep practicing and eventually you too will be able to pull off the every axis 1 direction trickshot.

Again, they tried ONCE, instead of fixing it, they simply gave up.

  • Huntress be doin' shot put with her sphere-shaped hatchets.

Yeah that wasn't funny I know, I just needed an excuse to put something here.

  • The only thing that makes me not mind the huntress hitbox witchcraft so much is against high level survivors they are generally unphased by the pressense of her and juke a good 50% of the shots, it doesn't make it less bullshit but once you're used to facing her enough there's a decent enough level of counterplay.

Nothing I just said though helps the average solo q hero.

Well,Trickster and Deathslinger have completely different wind up and projectile speed.

I feel like Huntress hitboxes are okay for the most part. It's latency and desync that's causing those "interesting" hits.

I still don't see why they have to be so big. Huntress is supposed to reward precision

I'm sorry dude, but your probably just new to the game. Of course, when you are below 500 hours it's heavily killer sided. You don't know how to loop/counter certain killers.

Maybe play for a bit longer and learn the game, it's not killer sided.

Everything is in the survivors favour (gen speeds, rng can be balanced, more survivor sided maps, almost all killers have counters, more survivors than killers) but often bad players can't take advantage of this.

"gen speeds, rng can be balanced, more survivor sided maps, almost all killers have counters"

none of what u said is true bru

1.2k hours and always red ranks (look at the god damn stats before you talk)

    also i play solo only

loops been nerfed alot just like maps and gen placing

    gen speeds been nerfed aswell

YOU DONT KNOW THE KILLER BEFORE THE GAME STARTS SO HOW WOULD I COUNTER IT IF I DONT KNOW WHAT KILLER I AM FACING

go try to get red ranks as solo survivor

They tried to make it a rectangle but the hit boxes between the surivor and hatchet were so jank that it would go straight through you 90% of the time so they reverted it

and changing the surivors hurt box would make every killer get hits they shouldn't

Most killers (all except spirit) have counterplay in the game, I'm not just talking perks.

Maps favouring killers (dead dawg and indoor maps (except game imo but that's debateable) which consists of 4/5 maps.

Now then, for survivors: haddonfield, mount Ormond, coldwind (corn is stupid), red forest maps ( all are way to large), game, lerys usually is difficult for most killers, midwich can be a ######### dependant on how bad rng leans to survivor but it's always survivors sided to some degree.

Loops have been changed (no infinites, less linkable tiles) because if they hadn't killer would literally have to pray the survivor doesn't know how to link tiles or they insta lose. As a general rule, rng for maps (whilst having extreme examples) is as balanced as they can be for that map. Except cowshed cuz ######### that.

Gens go way too quickly. 80s is way to small. And when did they get nerfed? You mean the NERF to toolboxes? And even that didn't do much. Base gen speeds are way to quick. And I'll go into depth with this. We can have a whole discussion on this alone.

I play solo survivor for the most part, a bit of 2-3 man swf with two friends who are way below my rank and experience (they have like 200 hours in the game, to my 3000). I'm red rank on both killer and survivor. When I say I'm not getting anything from swf with them except a laugh when they get the ######### scared outta them by a gf or Mikey.

For killers: I play nurse, hag, deathslinger, huntress and Mikey (a new pickup for fun)

Survivors don't matter to me, so I just pick whoever.

Everything I said is true, aside from all (I forgot spirit) killers being counterable. And I'll defend each and every point needed

did you check the stats before you wasted an 1h on that essay? even the ones from 2 years ago say its killer sided, also the higher the rank the worse it gets and imagine playing solo surv only

also i dont play killer because it is just way too easy and boring (just doing the daily missions)

Lmao, Imagine not being able to spin axes 360° degrees in all direction at the same time in real life.

You just have to practise more.

It's both. Regardless of latency, you can be struck through a solid obstacle due to the excessive hitbox.

*The stats* you are talking about don't differentiate between suicides on hooks and DC's from normal kills. Most 100+ game analytics I've seen that differentiates these show a normal kill rate of around 60%, maybe a bit more or less. A lot less killer sided then people would think.

Edit: and we can chalk this up to the fact that most players aren't the best at the game. Most are less then green ranks (which means they basically know very little on the game, so will die more due to not knowing how to play).

I play a lot of solo surv bud, and I'm fairly good at it. I'm rank 1 consistently. I also have 3k hours in the game. As you get better at survivor it becomes increasingly survivor sided. Against newer/bad players it's heavily killer sided. But as the survivors get better it gets more survivor sided. The killer needs the survivors to mess up to get hits. That also means that the better survivors get, the harder killers gets. Until tournament levels in which it is extremely survivor sided.

You say killer is easy and boring, but play survivor? This must be a troll. I play survivor to detilt/ relax. Survivors get downtime, and there's 4 of them. Killers a lot more difficult then just holding m1 on a gen for half the match bud, as they constantly have to be in chases, mindgaming whilst worrying about the other gens and the time this chase has taken. Killer is the more difficult role, period. Nobody who's played this game for an extended period of time (1k+ hours) says anything different. Hate to break it to you, your just wrong.

Bruh the red ranks stats are worse than the low ranks stats
