The recent patch was an absolute buff to basement Trapper. Trapper Sack + Makeshift Wrap is NUTS. You get all your traps at the start of the trial, you put a buttload of traps in the killer shack, get a survivor into the basement, and let the magic happen. You don't even have to worry about stepping in your shack & basement traps thanks to the new Makeshift Wrap add-on, and if a survivor DHs through a trap outside of the shack, it doesn't even matter, their fate is sealed.
I haven't tried it but I've seen others use that build and it's really cool.
Oh I definitely want to give this a try too!

Also, dont forget that these campers and tunnelers will straight up dc if they see a gen rush happening (3+ gens done and not a single hook yet).
Losers will tend to remain losers. Nothing BHVR can do about them.
Actually sometimes it is fun to let a gen rush happen. Wait, wait, wait, then boom with NOED or chainsaw..... Down to the basement you go. No decent bloodpoints for you my friend. ๐

Funny. Lots of claims that the new ranking system is a poor indicator of skill..... yet somehow after, and during a game I can tell you exactly if the survivors I'm facing are red rank or not..... and whatya know it... I'm always right. Funny that.
-
To all those saying "have fun, and don't worry about getting kills"..... getting kills **is** fun, hello?!.
It just so happens that tunneling and camping is very often the best way to guarantee a sacrifice or two. And I'm telling you..... that, and anything else is more fun for a killer than getting 4 clicky click teabaggers in the exit gate, waiting and waiting right to the last to finally escape.

Excellent feedback thread.

No? Why would I do that? I'm wasting both of our time. The match is over, let's go on to the next one.
I'll never understand people. The other player isn't a prop for your weird power fantasies.

Bubba and other instadown killers/builds soft-counter this, but wow do people hate playing against instadowns.
The good old cheesy NOED+NWO also works well.
I run Plaything on the majority of killers (I just really, really like this perk despite it being a bit meh) and this also helps with boons.
Good tip, thanks.

My threads are very important because they raise important issues with balance. Survivors are usually at a grave disadvantage. My posts are not all the same. Even if they were, why is it ok for a nerf Dead Hard post every day?

You clearly aren't playing the new meta.
Facecamp and get 2 kills as Bubba.
Any facecamps after that is just extra to show off your skill.
Deadlock and Corrupt and great stallers.

well, you seemed to care about it. you were gathering data, right? I do see your point, though.
I honestly do care more about fun, but knowing that I'm winning within the game's rules is still nice.
also, I figured you'd ask anyways.
I'm not sure you got my point, but all good :)

How about we learn to play against the killer before everyone starts yelling op nerf.
Amen to that

I think it's sweaty and scummy. But it's not against the rules at all.
Just not something I enjoy on either side, personally.
You mean you haven't slowly followed the last crawling survivor right up until they are at bleed out point, or near the hatch, only to scoop them up for a hooking

@Sluzzy said:
Every patch brings a killer with little to no counterplay.
The new killer is an even stronger doctor where nobody but a few elite teams can even possibly survive against her.
All gameplay mechanics need to be called "killer sided mechanics" instead of being fair. The hatch mechanic is now designed strictly for killers alongside end game collapse.
Maps becoming more and more killer sided.
In my recent matches, all Iridescent survivors and an Ash-Level killer is winning.
When are we going to start getting patches that address the imbalances and bring the power of killers down a few notches?
I think we all agree it would be a miracle if this killer was released without any major nerfs from test. So I'd reserve judgement until, as with all killers, the inevitable happens.
-
It's clear the devs want us to camp camp camp.
I say let's stop fighting it an embrace it. Who's with me?

I play killer 70% of the time, and I don't camp or tunnel.
some people t-bag, but if they t-bag, they're losing distance in chase.
it's just a game. I respect many people take it serously, but I don't care a ton about 4ks all the time. (although I do 3-4k about 90% of the time)
No offence intended, but this did make me chuckle...
"I don't care about my kill rate, but I'm going to immediately tell you all what my kill rate is" ๐๐
-
Exactly this. Survivors hypocrisy is unreal.
Basically they want you to do everything you can to make sure they have fun, while simultaneously not caring one bit if the killer has fun. Facts.
-
Not powerful enough. All need Buffs.

@JacksonWise said:
Seems to me like this combo would put survivors in a lose-lose situation. Either do Bones and deal with the effects of Pentimento or don't do bones and get punished with NOED.
Just curious if there is something I haven't thought. Also, not saying any lose-lose combo is automatically OP or unwinnable since others already exist like running BBQ and Iron Maiden.

So.... "in theory". If everyone playing the new killer in test "just happens" to get zero kills and 4 escapes (ooopsy), there would be no reason to nerf....... right? Just ya know, in theory.

Yeah agreed.

Speak for yourself, I totally never expected another killer nerf. There wasn't a staggering amount of precedent to clue us in. This was extremely surprising.
I am always expecting killer nerfs. Literally all the devs do now is make the game harder for killer and easier for survivors #Facts

@vacaman said:
It seems like they have decided that killrate is a way to balance around killer power. Cenobite is the highest killrate killer right now, and surprise surprise, it's getting nerfed in the PTB.
Last patch the lowest killrate killer was Nurse and she was buffed. Pig was nerfed (her best addons) because she had one of the best killrates. Plague was buffed, one with the lower killrates, spirit and wraith got nerfed, they were at the top. If this is true and not just a coincidence the next one to be nerfed will be Bubba, Myers and Hag.
Lol all it is now is killer nerfs and more survivor Boons. Yay...๐คฆ๐คฆ

Killers getting nerfed again. What a complete none surprise.

He was never fun to play against before or after his change and the only thing the tubby toad is good for is camping and nothing else. I have played against SEVEN Leatherfaces today and not a single one left their first hook, even at 5 gens. Leatherface is a massive problem and even now with Circle of Healing camping has become much more prevalent.
The devs are always saying "iT'S a VaLiD sTrAtEgY". Well tell me devs, is this your "Valid strategy" that you had in mind!?

-Chase survivor.

-Down survivor.
-Hook survivor.
-Repeat this process until all survivors are sacrificed.
I've added in the "survivor rulebook edit" for you. Just for balance an all that.
-Chase survivor (but not for too long, and as long as they haven't just been unhooked).
-Injure survivor (but then go after someone else).
-Down survivor (as long as you haven't chased them for too long)..
-Hook survivor (but immediately run away and never look back).
-Repeat this process until all survivors are sacrificed (but by no means allow any survivor to be sacrificed until you have hooked all of their friends also.... twice).
Easy.

I like the fact that the collision is there for the most part, adds a level of strategy and skill to the movement in the game. However I feel there should be a mechanic to allow the Killer to override the survivors hitbox for the purposes of hooking.
I like this idea.

It is for Bubba because there is no possible way to save someone.
Lets do say someone gets saved off the hook, his saw will last so long that it will outlast borrowed time.
Yeah, I often chase down a BT recipient for giggles.

He is Pay To Win for sure.

@JPA said:
Why is it still a thing in this game that survivors can block a hook.
Hooking is already slow enough as it is (wastes far too much time, about a third of a gen just to pick someone up and hook them), but it's even more annoying when you have 0 hooks, 2 gens have already gone, and people still decide they're gonna try and deny you that one hook.
If someone hook blocks me, I'm quite happy to just go after them instead, throw the game and camp them to death tbh.
The Killer already loses collision after they hit someone, so we don't need hook blocking to be a thing for "realism".
If I'm carrying a survivor and I'm near a hook, hooking should get priority. I should be able to hook through the survivors.
And don't hit me with the "just use starstruck", or "just use mad grit".
- I don't have these perks on every Killer
- I'm not running a useless build for the rare occasions when someone tries this annoying tactic on me, cause it's actually not that common
Also I just had a game playing Demo with literally no perks for STBFL, someone tried this one me, and well I ended up losing the hook but with 3 slugs. It was funny, but I still think this "mechanic" should leave the game.
This is definitely up there for me as one of the most frustrating mechanics for sure.

It's very rare that I see an actual high level survivor genuinely make a mistake and then Dead Hard saves them. I'm pretty sick of people parroting the same "Dead Hard undoes survivor mistakes so nerf it" argument, because if it is, it's likely just indicative that you aren't that good of a killer, and the survivors you're facing also aren't that good.
As a killer main, I often see survivors make a mistake "using" Dead Hard (straight into a wall for example). So I'm probably in the minority of killer mains who don't see DH as one of the bigger issues (yes it is annoying when they do use it successfully lol but hey ho).
However I appreciate and understand the arguments by those against it.

I say we remove ALL perks and items and go back to just our skill. Let's see how well anyone plays without Perks backing them up.....without items holding their hands.....and this goes for both sides.
I'd love this as a specific game mode. Be very interested to see the results. Great idea!
