They are both pretty bad perks.

Remember me requires attacks on the obsession to even activate. Also has no effect on the obsession which can render it worthless if that survivors alive at endgame. An extra 16 seconds to open the final gate also is not that good, not nearly the strength of bloodwarden or no way out which are pretty balanced perks.

Huntress Lullaby is also pretty bad, it can be removed from the game without even having any effect on survivors. Hex totems aren't exactly hard to find most the time in DBD.

1: you can kill the obsession and the perk still works. In fact, you should be killing the obsession if you're using this perk.

2: 16 extra seconds in endgame might not be as good as No Way Out, but it's still decidedly better than Huntress's Lullaby.

Ye I get that in that sense, however cheating and a gameplay strategy are completly different things, if he would do that by lets say if the Killer uses a Mori, then I wouldnt say anything about that cuz I do the exact same thing, or with noed. However Tunneling, Camping and Slugging are heavily needed strategys which still has plenty of counterplay and also dont even pay off sometimes if you do that so I dont really get the point of calling someone out for that. Even if that is meant in a funny way, there is absolutely nothing funny or weird about it, its like that someone would laugh at me cuz I have Autism. Its just there and it exists, sure its abit of an exagerating example since I dont have the choice for it, however the strategys are basicly in the base game needed and exist since the beginning of dbd for a reason, we all know how balanced dbd is.

I doubt they are talking about general "camping" and "tunneling". It's probably the fringe stuff they're making fun of, otherwise they're being weird.

Tell me a logical reasoning behind face-camping someone at five gens. Scenario: You've found this person as the game started, because they were within your line of sight as the camera panned around.

Or defend tunneling someone out at five gens. Scenario: You've chased this poor ####### around the map, and it's clear that no gens have been worked on, and yet this dude must die? Why not go for the unhooker either time--clearly nobody is doing anything, so it's a perfect time to commit to two hits!

You can't--it's dumb. The correct answer is "go spread pressure" because worst-case scenario they get pulled off hook and you get to cut their death timer a bit shorter when you catch them again.

Do you have a problem with a survivor poking fun at that sort of behavior post-match? I know that I don't.

Calling out general camping and tunneling is pretty silly though, yeah.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing the killer get hit by my blast mine

Watching a survivor unknowingly trap themselves in a corner with Lightborn after getting stunned by a blast mine :) *laughs in instant-down killers*

    Bonus satisfaction:

Hearing the snap and scream as a trap placed minutes ago suddenly performs mid-chase.

Watching a Zombie getting ran about, then suddenly go zoom towards the unsuspecting survivor.

    Playing dirty?

Also if you are not upset about it what is the point of it calling it out then? Dont really get the reason behind it then, I mean its not like some Killers like me give really a ######### if you say that xD

So if you call out a person for blatantly cheating and laugh at them, you're being salty?

Because even if that's on a different level, it's the same reaction. I'll poke fun at someone if I want to, no need for them to try and project their own insecurities on my words.

I believe that's the point he's making. You're misunderstanding because you're getting distracted by a perceived slight.

Sometimes, an opponent plays in a strange or unorthodox way--nothing wrong with calling out that it's different. There's not even necessarily an implied insult attached.

(And yes, "survivor main," "idiot," whatever--I get that people will accuse me of being stupid and salty. You know I play killer too, I commented on your post with advice about more obscure killer mechanics)

  • Why is Huntress's Lullaby valued the same as Remember Me? Furthermore, why does HL cost any points?

It's an interesting idea you have, but it's a step in the opposite direction of what the devs have said that they want (balanced perks--they want perks to be equally viable, or at least that's what they said).

You're right, DS is way more punishing to some killers than others. Like hypothetically, if for some reason they decided to add a killer that could straight up teleport directly through solid objects in the direction of the survivor, ignoring all pallets and windows, I think such a killer would have to worry about DS even less than huntress or blight. Potentially quite a lot less!

There's no way they'd make a killer like that. Imagine just ignoring the basic principles of the game as a killer power, jeez.

Honestly, they'd have to have some kind of crazy drawback to make that power work, and it's be too hard for newer players to learn--again, no way they'd make something like that.

But, if they did make a killer like that, I vote they name that killer "The Spirit."

    ... Wait a gosh-darn minute--

Woah, partner, slow your roll--I'm seeing a lack of meme charge speed add-ons, and that's unacceptable! How else am I going to charge my chainsaw at Mach 2 and cleave through a pallet into a survivor?

I'm not sure I love your other changes either, even if I wouldn't say no to some dynamic changes.

I'm personally okay with Billy where he is right now--sorry @GeneralV, but I like how his new add-ons can have interactions with his perks and the roar doesn't bother me overmuch.

Also, hot take: if the overheat "does nothing," why complain about it? It's obviously having an effect if it bothers people, even if it's not necessarily a good one.

Conclusion: maybe a 3.5 second bump stun instead of four seconds.

  • Why would I 99% the door? Because I left it to open the other door--don't worry about going down, Jeff. I'll be there to take a protection hit for you, bro.

More seriously, it's usually because someone just went down and I want to be able to get them safely--all the same, I'll still die for them

  • To be fair, survivors never know when your perks or items will come in handy. There's always a risk that the items and/or perks that they bring won't mesh with the killer's playstyle (i.e. a sabo-squad matches with a Pyramid Head).

Theoretically, there should be no reason to heal with a medkit against Plague, but I have escaped due to having the ability to heal myself normally in addition to cleanse-healing.

I agree with the idea that Plague has a good design--maybe survivors have to play a bit differently, but I personally think that's a good thing.

Of course this counts for Killer add ons too.

And i know there are offerings that prevent you from loosing them but i think you shouldnt loose them if they dc.

Complaining about how your opponent played in a game is just being salty.

You can claim you don't intend to be salty but if you truly weren't you would have no reason to ######### in end game chat in the first place.

Having heard "Is that a tent, or are you just happy to see me?" from a survivor was so genuinely funny that I repeat it whenever I get hard face-camped.

Peole romanticise old freddy but i assure you as a person who mained him pre rework hes better off now. Espicially since hit and run would be even worse due to the current meta. Let me remind you old freddy literally waiting for dream transition as survivours finish the last gen was normal freddy gameplay.

There was nothing redeemable about old freddy. New freddy is still not interesting but if you forced me to choose between one or the other. New freddy at least functions. The dream transition needed to die.

I see your point and raise you PTB Freddy. Because frankly, the "redeeming quality" of old Freddy is that he had an interesting dynamic rather than "let me put things on the ground that will slow you down sometimes wait please stop leaving this loop for the one next to it"

I'd like to see a number of killers have their original terror radius numbers returned, and others to be experimented with. For starters, Pig and Legion, should both have a 24 meter terror radius, and in the case of Legion, 32 meters in Frenzy. From there they could look at other killers, such as Ghost Face.

For a second I missed the "32 meters in frenzy," and I was all "woAH, HEY, HOLD UP YOU ABSOLUTE PSYCHOPATH" heheheh

Why 24 instead of 28? I feel like that was an excellent point to have her be somewhat stealthy while not having the "I'm not in chase yet?" effect that Huntress can have (which would become a problem with her traps)

You can literally hear her lullabye before anything else, its loud. The notification you get that she's using her power is even louder. On PTB she wasn't really sneaky or stealthy even in her invisible form because you could hear her coming and see her since it revealed her in 32 meters. And it was directional.

I got confirmation that my friend's audio setup is busted, so it's good to hear what it sounds like from others.

As someone who played this game already before Nurse released, I can confirm that she was never 115, not sure where you got that from.

She used to be the same speed as survivors (100%), then was nerfed to her current, slower speed and stayed there ever since.

My own fault for misremembering--I knew they slowed her down, I just was certain it was from 110-115%

You are absolutely thinking about this (and taking this, and going about this) the wrong way.

You're sure I'm the one taking it the wrong way... because I came up with a reasoned argument as to why Nurse's blink-attacks shouldn't count as specials being as they're the only way she can get attacks??

I want you to play a game with Nurse--doesn't matter what add-ons you use, use the best for consistency--and I want you to use the best perks you can without using a single perk that triggers on an M1.

I'm thinking that your performance won't change all that much if you're a half-decent Nurse player.

And that changes the point, how exactly?? My (or anyone elses) ability to play Nurse has absolutely no bearing on whether she blink attack should be special or not. The determining factor has to be some objective measurable metric based on killer (i.e. the character) ability. And Nurse has no ability to chase survivors down for a standard M1, unlike literally every other killer.

Unless, of course, you're just complaining to have something to complain about. Yes, Blight has 115% movement speed; he just goes zoom. Nurse ######### teleports. Keep in mind that she used to be 115% speed as well.

Ah, see, this just shows you haven't got a clue what you're talking about whilst saying I'm thinking about it the wrong way.

Yes, Blight has 115% movement. That means he can literally chase a survivor down and hit them **WITHOUT USING HIS ABILITY**.

Nurse CANNOT do that! She CANNOT chase down survivors because she's literally slower than them!

Ergo, you cannot equate Blight's lethal rush attack with a Nurse blink attack, despite the speed of movement, etc. I'm really struggling to understand how you're failing to see the point so spectacularly.

Keep in mind that she used to be 115% speed as well.

    Oh really?

Well... checking the Wiki, it seems the first change to her was in Patch 1.1.2 where she was nerfed from 100% movement to 96.25% movement.

When exactly was she 115%, and why is that relevant at this point?

Ah, you're going out of your way to misunderstand the argument, got it.

    Nice b8, chum.

Edit: Actually, I'm going a step further.

I want you to say outright that you think Nurse should be able to down survivors in one hit. That's all you have to do: just admit it, and nobody will make fun of you for it.

Because that's the argument that you're deliberately ignoring. It's not about getting hits without teleporting all game, you absolute goose.

    Don't pretend it is.

well its time for the mods and devs to correct it, because it is sure pretty quick compare to execitioner and deathslinger

It's not a bug, it's a feature. That, and it takes two hits for a survivor to get injured from it. Let alone downed. Would you rather take damage whenever nemesis or a zombie hit you instead of taking infection first?

Also, just doge the hit. I understand that's not the answer that you want, but sometimes things in this game seem hard or unfair until you understand them.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826928#Comment_2826928

Well, I tell you what. Play a game with Nurse where you only blink and do basic attacks (i.e. no blink attacks), and then let's see how strong you are.

You are absolutely thinking about this (and taking this, and going about this) the wrong way.

I want you to play a game with Nurse--doesn't matter what add-ons you use, use the best for consistency--and I want you to use the best perks you can without using a single perk that triggers on an M1.

I'm thinking that your performance won't change all that much if you're a half-decent Nurse player.

Then again, others bring up a fair point in that they're are other killers with power-assisted M1s other than Nurse, so I'm not that hung up over it.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/312004/1-rather-unknown-mechanic-or-interaction-of-each-killer-which-barely-anyone-uses-does

Nurse: Her blink attack is the ONLY one ability in dbd that doesnt count as a special attack (which it should).

Why should it count as a special, exactly?? It's not like she can get M1 attacks (in general) any other way, given that she's literally slower than survivors!! Forcing it to be "special" indicates she can rely on the normal use of her power and thus make use of a whole host of perks that trigger on this... which is simply not the case.

So, would love to hear a well thought out and considered argument for why her blink attack should be considered as a special, the same as other killers whose specials supplement their basic attacks.

You can get m1s without her power, you just have to be incredibly clever--however, I'm sure they mean that Nurse's power-assisted m1 should be considered "special" for terms of game consistency. They aren't wrong that Nurse gets a lot of effects that other killers don't using their powers--Blight's rush attacks (for example) are special attacks, and shouldn't trigger things like the Exposed status--it would be insane if they did.

Would you be amenable to the idea of Nurse getting her hits differentiated if she got some of her joke add-ons replaced with old!Nurse add-ons? I probably would take that trade, but I'm curious to know how others feel.

@BenZ0, The Shape can tier up eight times maximum in a match, which comes out to a total of seven T3s, this is something that I know for the purpose of grinding out The Shape's unique achievement.

Another fun fact! All killers have the same base carrying speed! This means that Nurse actually moves faster than normal when carrying survivors

  • @Tranquil_Blue said:

I'm pretty sure your Myers fact is incorrect. Basekit Myers should be able to get to Tier III up to 7 times, if I'm not mistaken. With certain addons, however, it takes more stalk points to get to Tier III for the first time, so in those cases, your maximum number of Tier III's would be fewer.

You're absolutely correct on that, I can't believe I missed that mistake when looking through the tips

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

Know what screw it I have a couple more.

Specific killer interactables, such as Pig Boxes, Freddy Clocks, Onryō's TVs, or even Pyramid' s cages, will spawn where Chests will. This can be used to varying effect on different killers, naturally, with the knowledge best served on Pyramid Head.

Pyramid Head's cages also have a built in timer, and if you remain too close for the duration of this timer then the cage will teleport to the current furthest away spawn, pausing the sacrifice timer in the process. If you play smart, you can force a survivor to run across the entire map only to send the cage right the way back. With Ruin, the effect can be devastating to team progress.

Nemesis' whip has a hitbox that pushes forwards. If any collision gets in the way of this hitbox, even if it is then clear on the other side again and in theory a whip over an object should hit, it will not go over the object. Looking up as Nemesis seemingly raises the height of the tentacle and so can allow for better hits over objects provided you know where the survivor is as they likely won't be on your screen.

A survivor who has the Endurance Status Effect, either through Soul Guard, Borrowed Time, or Mettle of Man, will not be put to sleep if hit by Freddy while they are awake.

Trapper has a grace period on his traps and, provided he doesn't leave the hitbox of the trap, can walk all over a trap for as long as he needs without being trapped himself.

I actually didn't know that Freddy fact, that's really neat!

I'll throw in another: Trapper and Hag have their hitboxes move back slightly when they place traps--this means that clever players can bait a pallet drop (or, in one memorable instance, a Head On) and doge what could/should have been a stun

  • Trickster has a lullaby, but apparently only in a ring around the edges of his TR--if you are undetectable, it will sound like you're leaving as you get closer.

  • Yeah, the learning curve for this game is incredibly harsh, and the in-game resources are rather lackluster. Hint, hint.

    Wow, that's adorable

Sure, and I've had some people who were the first in my frenzy chain pull that off. But if you aren't the first... I'm perfectly happy eating the pallet stun and chasing you. I've also had far more Survivors than I can count mess that up. Throw the pallet before I've hit them and before I've even activated Frenzy and then I just activate it, vault, and stab them.

I was more making light of when one should Dead Hard a Legion stab, but fair enough!

Also Demo fact that I think is kinda well known, but I mention it anyways, because most Demo's I played against don't use it:

Shredding from a hill or any other elevation gives you so much more distance than just walking.

Hovewer, Shredding from an elevation doesn't seem to ever hit a Survivor, I guess because the Hit Box of it is around Demo's arms and not his legs.

You can hit a survivor from a hill, but getting the timing down is atrocious.

I can add a few Legion ones. Honestly if there's one killer where I've run into the most people who just don't get it, it's Legion.

Biggest one is that a pallet stun is actually much shorter than Frenzy's fatigue state and kicks Legion out of their power. So, if you stun a Legion in Frenzy who was planning on cancelling Frenzy on you, you're actually helping them.

Second biggest one is that while Frenzy is active, Legion holds their knife above their head in a reverse grip similar to Myers in tier 3 and their breathing also gets significantly louder and more ragged. If they're in this state... you do not need to use Dead Hard. Ever. You aren't going down.

Unless they're trying to knock you out of your power to keep you from finding one of their teammates, which is the only valid reason (that I know of).

  • Nemesis zombies will also react to the sound of gens being worked on nearby--they don't enter "chase," but they do move towards them. I don't know if this is the same for healing, totems, and chests; nor do I know if perks can effect this.

I'd recommend getting an allergy test, to see what causes your diarrhea. Avoid that substance.

If my best friend abandons me because she wants to have no friends, shall I try to convince her otherwise and maybe rekindle our relationship, or should I just accept that the person I used to spend all the time in school with is just gone?

Kidnapping is the answer. It shows them that you're invested in your friendship and concerned for their emotional well-being due to their current life choices.

Edit: what are some good perks to synergize with PWYF on Trapper?

  • I mean, if a gen is being done at triple the normal speed, chances are it doesn't have that many charges--even with Built To Last, they're only going to either do 1-2 gens very quickly, or finish 3-4 gens "in your face."

While frustrating, I dislike strong medkits more. "Boy howdy, don't mind me and my nine self-heals with only my medkit and Built To Last. Good thing this killer doesn't know they need to commit to every chase! Gosh diddly gracious, what a silly goose! Time to heal in five seconds again!"

I actually suggested a similar change sometime back. Predator making footsteps louder and Lightweight making them quieter.

@topic I've suggested it in the past, make Insidious trigger after a hook. It gives you the undetectable status for 30 seconds during which you can still move around. I think it would be a really interesting perk.

Honestly, even with how Insidious is abused, I like how it is now. I'm a sucker for theme, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, heheh...

I wouldn't be at all surprised if your suggestion became a new perk in the future, though.

NOED is interesting to me because it exposes how people truly feel about game balance. It's pretty much a discussion about risk vs reward and NOED users love reward with little to no risk and NOED haters like actual fair game design. If you like NOED I can already tell how you want to balance the rest of the game.

    What an interesting generalization, friend!

I personally think that NOED is in a much better place than it used to be, and I don't mind using it or going against it. I also understand that I'm fairly out of practice with the game in its current state.

Though, to be fair I do like the design of Devour Hope more. Not sure why, tbh.

here’s a simple one- I would take away the cooldown from any means necessary.

Woah, hey--no taking away my convenient in-game timer! How else will I keep track of time? A clock? Don't be ridiculous, clocks are expensive.

    Two reasons

    1. They'd not closed their game since the Nurse was killswitched (unlikely given this amount of time)
    2. They were cheating - I do hope you reported them, in case

There's some charity streamer out there right now playing nurse nonstop to raise money to support a children's hospital.

They haven't slept in four days; little do they know, their efforts will soon be interrupted...

Almost has stepped down from playing on stream (DbD) for a while. He may come back in the future.

Auto-correct may have eaten a name there, friend.
