Been playing billy for awhile, and I just installed the new mid chapter update and he feels so ######### now. Not sure if it's just me but turning feels broken and unnatural, same with survivor but not as bad. Anyone know why?

He is bugged to high hell.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

Billy is most likely bugged. I will not touch him in this state.

Agreed. Not until a hotfix. And that hotfix needs to get here fast

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Must just be a visual glitch. I can't imagine the character specific challenges not unlocking lore. Dwight's story has ten chapters. There has to be something on the first rift for him alone.

Wouldn't surprise me. This new patch has nothing but glitches

  • I try to stay positive but I understand where everyone is coming from because I'm in the same boat. It gets stale when every patch brings another handful of problems. I am thankful they brought the update out given the circumstances right now, and that is why I haven't made a thread complaining to add to the problem. I just play the game less until they fix it. But I agree that the least people could do is give some constructive criticism

  • Heard that there is a lot of dead zones. Not that I would know. Didn't get a single reworked map. Didn't play that many games because the amount of Legions was getting on my nerves.

  • @indieeden7 said:

You really like making these threads huh?

Better off just pretending like you don't see them. People like this typically can't be reasoned with.

  • I played a couple matches as survivor. Got put up against some annoying Legion slowdown builds and a couple Ghostface's which camped the ######### out of me. Because matchmaking is so absurdly broken, I got a high rank killer with white rank survivors. I became so fed up that I had to get off the game and haven't got back on since. Don't know what it is, but every new patch seems to brings the combination of toxic players and annoying gameplay.

  • Survivor is a tie between Hawkins and Saloon. One map has hallways that will screw you, and the other just has ######### placements for everything (gens all towards middle, hooks right next to each other, etc.). As killer I'm not particularly fond of Haddonfield or the Disturbed Ward of the Asylum because of the safe window loops. I don't have a problem with meat plant as survivor. Once you learn gen placements and loops it isn't all that killer sided. Just make sure you don't three gen yourself with the remaining gens on one floor

  • While keys from chests are BS (I know all too well. Just had a game last night where it screwed me) the solution is not to balance it with something equally as broken/toxic. The real fix would be to nerf the key and balance the mori. But lets be real, the odds of a key spawning in a chest is 1 in 100 unless they are running plunderer's instinct.

  • Survivor is probably Adrenaline. Become so used to running it that I just kinda rely on it now. 9 out of 10 times I don't have it, I die after last gen pops. On killer I would say BBQ and Chili or Ruin

Tbagging is not "unfair" it is more an attempt to taunt or demoralize someone and then feel good about yourself. I laugh especially when they do it too long and get downed and get hooked... had someone not paying attention and i downed her (character, not player didn't know if player was a he or a she) at the exit, I got to pick them up and hook them.... they cried "you're a dick!!! you should have let me go, i was at the exit!" I told them "you should have left instead of trying to taunt me there, I got you and I don't have to do anything you expect I'm supposed to kill you in game." they cried more and I laughed.

the short of it is, it's hilarious when people think it does more to hurt people.. lol it is not unfun really... just stupid to do it for that. I mean there are ways to use it to be nice, to show someone something... instances of "good" tbagging, 1-3 dips in recognition of a good play or a thank you to another survivor, another possibility is to stand on the hatch and dip several times so the person on the hook can see where the hatch is. things like that....

This. It is so frequent with people. I have a rule of thumb on both sides. If you could have left and you died going back in for whatever reason (tbagging, hook save, etc.) then you can't get mad about dying because it is your own fault.

  • Thank you! Hate that there is multiple variations of basically the same map

  • I agree 100%. It is way too easy to remember someone's name and be an arse to ruin their fun. It's not uncommon to want revenge on someone who was toxic before and a lot of people in this community will hold a grudge. I personally have done it a few times when someone had the nerve to personally message me with insults. But that is beside the point, the point is that names need to be hidden until after the match. No one should have to change their name to make sure they aren't targeted by a killer

  • The main problem is that they are typically used immediately at the start of the game. A person gets unhooked and the killer will immediately down them again and kill them outright which is not fun for them and handicaps the other 3 pretty early, giving them a low chance of survival. I can 100% vouch that while it may be cool at first, getting screwed by a mori every other game because you are SWF or Prestige 3 or have a item that could be OP, etc. gets old quickly and makes the experience stale

  • I know right! Such positive vibes being put out

And by certain, do you mean the wannabe mainstream streamers that no one watches or cares about?

Clearly people care if they are copying what they're doing

  • Certain Youtubers/Twitch streamers have been tunnelling people wearing the outfit for not reason other than to ruin their fun. That is where the trend is coming from

Where did you get this data for this proof? For all i see is a mere statement, not really anything to back it up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1209092#Comment_1209092

How the heck did they get that high and never learn to look behind them? Have they never face a ghostface, Myers or other kill that needs you to look around with your eyes or be caught off guard by them sneaking up on you?

As long as you can do a gen, make a save/heal, and run the killer for more than 10 seconds (which they do by wasting pallets, you rank up. You don't have to be good to rank up and that is the problem.

But I used to get red rank consistently and now that I've not played as much I only get red rank right before reset. Red rank as survivor is really o ly based by how much you play. Not how well you play.

    This.

  • @Lavos99z said:

I've noticed that as a green rank killer I consistently get either really good red rank survivors, or really trashy survivors who scum the entire game in SWF while rolling me and being cocky c*nts saying "ggez". Maybe THAT'S just me but hey. I've watched streamers with similar issue.

Definitely seems like a middle ground doesn't exist. Unfortunately for me, it seems to be the terrible ones that get into all of my matches

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

According to other Users here, all Red Ranks are 100% skilled, often found in 4 man Squads and Killers have never a chance to win a game.

So it might be just you.

    XD

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

i only give credence to Ranks 1 and 2 since, in the words of Tru3, those players are consistent.

still get a number of boosted monkeys, but you'll notice 1/2 is way better than 3/4

    I have noticed that

  • Agreed. The problem is solo survivor needs a lot of changes to bring them up to speed. On top of that, solo queue is worse because you aren't the power role. As killer you can at least try to stop it, but as survivor you kinda need your team. If they suck, it screws you and at higher ranks I notice players only get worse and more selfish

  • It won't get removed. It will be changed at most. The mori is a key gameplay element and it isn't gonna be going anywhere.

  • @th3 said:

The fact that you consider the game to also be survivor sided makes me want to laugh out loud.

Believe it or not, once you learn the meat plant, it can be a good map for survivor. Lots of walls for line of sight break and mind games and plenty of windows for loops. Only downside to the map might be totems and even those can be somewhat memorized

  • While I'd be somewhat okay with the light change, that would be it. If you can't complete the objective, an alternate escape should be harder, like finding hatch, and if hatch is closed, finding the door. Right now the door spawns can screw killer just as much as survivor

That's the worst thing you can do as killer. Two injured survivors is better than 1 downed and 3 fully healed.

Yeah, but the faster you can get someone out the quicker the game will snowball. So it makes sense when you know they hook bomb because they won't be on gens. Strategy will work when they hook bomb, especially if they don't have borrowed

  • Option 2 is a lot better. While it can still be abused, it won't be as much as it currently is.

  • Another issue is hook bombing. If you hook bomb before the killer gets the chance to leave, it only makes sense they would go after the injured and re-hook them because the game will snowball more the quicker you get rid of a survivor. Can't really blame a killer for that. So hook bombing would definitely have to be addressed with this

  • @WhTe_Tygre_DBD said:

When you are not in a chase with the survivor that got unhooked for 15 seconds, the perk deactivates.

Timer is too short. You could very easily drop a chase for 15 seconds and find them again afterwards. It should deactivate when the killer hooks another survivor or you start working on a generator.

  • I feel enduring should work against it. Honestly I don't know why they ever changed enduring in the first place. It was a lot better when it could be used against all stuns, and it wasn't all that OP. If they wanted to keep stun times the way they are then I wouldn't care

  • Only time I ever teabag is if I need to get the killer off of a survivor that he is camping.

  • Agreed. Borrowed Time is a good perk but so many people just dive bomb the hook and the killer will go after you anyway because they didn't even get the chance to leave. Decisive should remain the same, but the timer needs to stop after someone else is hooked. That way you don't get free immunity

  • While you technically did team, I think you'll be fine. If they do anything to you, they would have to do something to her too for refusing to participate in normal gameplay

  • I was just talking about this the other day and I agree, it is absurd that you can't regen the tokens. I don't know why it was even made like that. I'd be fine with it working like detective's hunch and dark sense where you regain a token for every generator that gets completed for a max of 8 tokens.

Glad it was sarcasm. You had me worried there mate! But yeah, you're right. Those comments will pop up eventually

The biggest tip I can give is get comfortable with both sides. Play survivor if you feel you're getting rolled as killer and vice versa. Just level up one survivor to the point you feel comfortable (all the perks you need) and stick to them for a while. It seriously helps to see the other view when it comes to this game.

This is an amazing tip! Playing both sides helps a lot. You get to see and learn how the other side reacts to different things and you can use that knowledge to counteract what they do. If you patrol gens as killer but can't seem to find anyone, but as survivor you notice someone hiding somewhere, check that spot next time you play killer and you might just catch someone with their pants down

  • @Ghostwithaface said:

Yeah being able to choose your daily ritual would be nice. Do you want a survivor one or a killer one. Sometimes i feel like playing survivor but get a killer ritual. Sometimes it's the other way around.

Which making say even the lowest reward be 50k blood points. That would be about one level 50 blood web, if you spend it wisely. So not all that much. Yet would still be nice if you are trying to get tier three of a certain perk.

Exactly! I have days where I just don't feel like playing one side! I always seem to get killer rituals when my friends are on and want to do SWF and vice versa

  • The easiest mind set to have is to keep telling yourself that it is just a game and that everyone loses some matches. The ranking system is unfair and it really isn't worth ranking up, but inevitably you will rank up so reminding yourself that everything will be fine and that one loss doesn't mean anything will be a life saver. If you ever reach a boiling point where you feel you want to rage quit, take a break, do something else for a while and come back refreshed with a new attitude

  • Running certain perks doesn't really determine toxicity. But the rest of it is normal. You should never prestige all killers at once especially if you are high rank. Always keep one person leveled up to play during prestige times. As far as the messages at the end, it's better to just turn off post game chat on PC or change your message settings on console

  • The changes to killer were needed. It is possible to dominate a killer when you are coordinated and that is what the game should be balanced around. You can't balance around new players because the game starts out too hard for them. They have to grow their skill and will ultimately get better at the game. Experienced play is what you have to balance around because that is where people know what is good and when to use/abuse it which is what balance is meant to change

  • @FFirebrandd said:

Heh, yeah that would be nice. I don't often play survivor but when I do I very much prefer stealth. That's why I'm actually going to use shards on Zarina. Girl's got 2 perks that work with stealthy gameplay.

I need to start leveling her up. Been putting it off for a while but I really like her perks

  • @ad19970 said:

I do think that some maps have too many empty spaces that should have a few more objects to hide behind.

Exactly! Maps like Shelter Woods are basically setting you up for failure if you aren't by the outskirts

  • I'd be fine if the styptic agent did what a syringe (but for one state obviously) did and the syringe just took a longer period of time, or did something different for healing all together, but anything else I'm against. I've hit a couple killers with the syringe the way it is now and it can be the difference between a 3k or a 4 man escape

  • @HarryToeknuckles said:

It should only be active after two hooks, replacing the death hook

The problem I see with this is that there is a lot of stubborn/petty people in this community and I fear survivors would just let themselves die on second hook to deny the killer a mori

  • @YaiPa said:

I don't even know... they removed passive madness increase because it was annoying for baby survivors, just to replace it with the static blast, far stronger and probably even more annoying.

Honestly this is true for me. Static blast is so annoying as he can trigger it at will and screw you. At least the terror radius proximity was passive so you had some time to react. I would take that over static blast any day.

  • @Cheers said:

This is one of the more killer sided maps to start, so you not escaping makes sense.

The first thing is The Salloon is a great place to loop aslong as no walls are broken, and the killer will rarely catch you if they are.

Second of all, if you know where the killer is, run to the opposite side of the map and work on a gen there.

Finally, there are alot of objects to crouch behind on the side opposite of the Salloon, many killers fall for it.

    Okay thanks!

Well I guess it's important if you took the time to post this. I mean, you could've just moved on, but instead you wasted your time here too. Thanks for contributing

Never said that it wasn't important. I said it didn't help the issue. There is a difference

  • Yes if there was a limit. I also feel that multiple people should have to put someone on the blacklist for it to be final and possibly have a dev have to review it.

  • Posting threads about whining doesn't help. Honestly it defeats the purpose because it creates a thread whining about people whining
