  • I don't play Ghostface that often, but I've always wondered if you could grab someone off a gen while crouched. Never got the chance to test it. Can anyone confirm?

  • Is it actually working for you? Last time I checked was last night and the answer was indefinitely. Nobody could get into a match because of a global error.

  • Not gonna lie, at one point I said imagine if a killer similar to spider-man was in the game. He could swing above the map and web survivors to slow/stop them. Obviously this should never happen but it was fun to imagine.

  • It is a global issue right now on all platforms. The devs have not spoken on the issue.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

4 people in the Xbox category just posted this, too. Seems like a global issue with DBD right now all of a sudden. Idk how these keep happening lmao

Wouldn't be surprised. I'm on PS4. Figures it would happen right as the rift releases.

  • Myers will forever scare the ######### out of me. God forbid it be a scratched mirror game...

  • I regret buying Cannibal. He just seems so bad. I never end up using him and feel like it was a waste of my 5$

  • Thank the Lord they changed it! It actually works with his other perks now. But yeah, it can lead to some pretty ######### sportsmanship.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Question is, does it really NEED to be fulfilled by everyone? It is 100% optional to spend money on the Rift Pass, you only get Cosmetics and nothing which will affect the gameplay.

You can buy the Rift Pass at anytime, so when you unlock many things on the free Track, you can decide later if you want to buy the Pass to get the Premium Rewards.

You are acting as if every Player should get the full Rift Pass (and 1000 Auric Cells back because of this) without having to put much effort in.

You are fighting a losing battle. It's better to just keep it to yourself at this point and let everyone figure things out for themselves.

  • Yes, you will get flamed indeed. But allow me to make some logical points.

    1. Yes what you said is true, this is probably the most toxic community anyone has ever seen. However that toxicity is on both sides. Not just one. One of the reasons the community is so broken up is because of this finger pointing. People don't know how to look at things from both sides and so the community ends up divided between survivor and killer.
    2. Mettle of Man and Decisive Strike both needed a nerf. Did they kill Mettle of Man? Yes, I'll give you that one. Decisive on the other hand needed a change and is still a good perk till this day. It became what it always should have been; an anti-tunnel perk instead of a free escape. It does this well.
    3. Killers receive the short end of the stick at times too. Remember Legion? Sure he needed a nerf but they killed him because survivors requested it. Nurse just got changed as well.
    4. The devs have said multiple times that they won't put a voice chat in the game. They can't see how it will fit in. That being said, stopping the timer would just lead to some survivors abusing the aspect. They can sit around the hook for as long as they like waiting for an unhook, but if you try and stop them, you are now to close for the hook timer to go down and thus the survivor is not being punished for hook rushing. But if you don't stop them they unhook and get away. See the problem?

They have been working to close the gap between SWF and solo players for a while now and they are still in the process of doing so. Until then, utilize what you have to counter camping (Decisive, Borrowed Time, Kindred, Adrenaline -in some cases-). I play both sides enough to know how frustrating camping can be, but look at what went wrong in the game and fix it next time. If you died to camping, say GG and move on to the next. If you died because you tried to make a save while they were camping, adjust the next time.

Makes sense. I'll change them to a lower number then.

Nice. I like all the ideas now!

Well, it only works when Survivors are in the terror radius. Thanatophobia affects the entire map.

Maybe I could reduce the values a bit though. 25% is a lot.

Yeah. This could be worse than map wide. I would take 16 over 25 any day

  • @Trwth said:

If it's not obvious already, I really like writing stuff like this. There are so many perks in Dead by Daylight, yet still so many are never really used. Now I'm not trying to shift the meta here, but I would like to shed some light onto some perks that could use a bit more attention so that they aren't completely left in the dark to never be used. As always, feel free to share your ideas!

    Beginning with the Survivors' side:

    Buckle Up

Unlocks potential in one's aura-reading ability. The recovery and wiggle progression of dying and carried Survivors can be determined by the intensity of their auras at a distance of up to 48 meters.

When you heal a Survivor from the dying state to injured or healthy, both you and the healed Survivor see the Killer's aura for 4-5-6 seconds.

    Deja Vu

Unlocks potential in one's aura-reading ability. Paranoia paired with the horror of failure drives you to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

When you repair 1-2-3 generators for 30 seconds, its aura will be revealed to you at a distance of up to 128 meters away. If the Killer breaks a generator affected by Deja Vu, the generator's repair progress can be determined by the intensity of its aura until it stops regressing. If the generator is trapped, then its aura will be revealed in yellow.

Deja Vu can only affect 1-2-3 generators at once.

    Distortion

You start the trial with 3 Tokens.

When any generator is completed, gain a token. When your aura would be shown to the Killer, Distortion activates and a token is consumed.

For the next 10 seconds while Distortion is activated, your aura and scratch marks will not be shown to the Killer.

    • Distortion does not activate while you are in the dying state or in a trap.

    No One Left Behind

It is inconceivable to leave someone behind.

Once the exit gates are powered, your altruistic action speed is increased by 40%-50%-60%. Any injured Survivors within an 8 meter range of you will have their grunts of pain reduced by 50% and leave no scratch marks. Once out of range, this effect persists for 15 seconds when out of range.

Gain 100% more bloodpoints in the Altruism category.

    Pharmacy

You have a knack for finding medicine. Searches through chests are 40%-60%-80% faster and the noise created are reduced by 8 meters.

Pharmacy guarantees an Emergency Med-Kit with the Self Adherent Wrap add-on on your first completed chest search. After your first chest search, all chest searches afterward will guarantee a Camping Aid Kit with the Rubber Gloves add-on.

    Vigil

You look over your friends even in dire situations. You and your allies within an 8 meter range will recover from the Exhausted, Hemorrhage, Mangled, Hindered, Blindness, Madness, and Oblivious status effects 20%-25%-30% faster. Once out of range, this effect persists for 15 seconds.

    Flip-Flop

You have an uncanny ability to escape the inevitable.

While in the dying state, your recovery progression is converted into wiggle progression when you are picked up by the Killer, up to a maximum of 50%-60%-70% total wiggle progression.

    Lightweight

Your running is light and soft, making your tracks harder to follow. The sound of your footsteps are reduced by 75% and your scratch marks stay visible for 2-3-4 seconds less than normal.

    ---

That's all I've got for the Survivor's side. Some perks that may still need looking into are Mettle of Man, Sole Survivor, Left Behind, Slippery Meat, Solidarity, and Wake Up!.

    Moving onto the Killer's side...

    ---

    Coulrophobia

Your presence alone instills great fear. Survivors within your terror radius will have their repair, healing, and sabotage speeds reduced by 15%-20%-25%.

    Cruel Limits

Your ties to the otherworldly manifest when your prey attempts to get away.

When any generator reaches 50% repair progress, receive a loud noise notification from that location and all windows and vaults within a 24 meter radius from the generator will be blocked by the Entity for all Survivors for the next 22-26-30 seconds.

Cruel Limits can only trigger once per generator.

    Insidious

At the start of the trial, you receive the Undetectable status effect for 60 seconds. Any time you hook a Survivor, you become Undetectable for 20-25-30 seconds.

    Mindbreaker

Your distressing presence drains and weakens your prey.

While repairing generators, Survivors are afflicted with the Exhausted status effect. Any existing Exhausted effects are paused during repairs. After ending the repair action, Survivors will be afflicted with Exhausted for 8-9-10 seconds.

Injured Survivors who are repairing a generator with more than 50% repair progression will be afflicted with the Oblivious status effect as well. After ending the repair action, Oblivious will linger for 8-9-10 seconds.

    Monstrous Shrine

Your fervent care of the hooks in the trial have aroused the Entity's interest. When you hook three Survivors, the next time a generator is completed, all generators will be blocked by the Entity for 20-25-30 seconds.

    Remember Me

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

Each time you hit your obsession, you increase the opening time of the exit gates by 5 seconds up to a maximum of 20-25-30 seconds.

When three Survivors are killed or sacrificed and you close the hatch, the opening time of the exit gates are increased by 15 seconds if the obsession has been killed or sacrificed.

The obsession is not affected by Remember Me.

    • The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

    Shadowborn

You have a keen vision in the darkness of the night. Overall brightness is increased by 25% and your field of view is increased by 9-12-15 degrees.

Field of view gains do not stack.

    Territorial Imperative

Unlocks potential in one's aura-reading ability. The auras of vaults and pallets are revealed to you within a 18-22-26 meter range. When a Survivor is 2 meters from a vault or pallet, its aura will turn white.

    Tinkerer

When a generator reaches 75% repair progression, you receive a loud noise notification and the Undetectable status effect for 10-12-15 seconds.

    Unrelenting

You recuperate faster from attacks made by your main weapon. Your missed attack and successful attack cooldowns are reduced by 15%-20%-25%.

Missed and successful attack cooldown reductions do not stack.

    Beast of Prey

Your lust to kill is so intense that your connection with the Entity is momentarily lost, making you totally unpredictable.

    After gaining Bloodlust Tier 1:

    • Your red stain disappears.
    • You gain a speed bonus to vaulting and breaking.
    • Gain 50% more bloodpoints for actions in the Hunter category.
    • You cannot exceed Bloodlust Tier 1.

Breaking pallets will not cause you to lose Bloodlust. You lose Bloodlust when you hit a Survivor or lose the chase.

Beast of Prey has a cooldown of 100-80-60 seconds.

    Fire Up

The increased pressure of losing your prey fills you with anger and gives you unsuspected motivation. Each time the Survivors complete a generator, Fire Up grows in power.

    • For each generator completed, exit gate or hatch opened, gain a 4%-4.5%-5% speed bonus to picking up, dropping, breaking pallets or generators, and vaulting for the remainder of the trial.

    Overwhelming Presence

Your presence alone instills great fear. Survivors in your terror radius suffer from inefficiency.

Affected Survivors will not be able to perform Great Skill Checks. All skill checks performed while in your terror radius will pause their action progress for 2-3-4 seconds.

    Surge

Your eerie presence charges the air and interferes with technology.

Putting a Survivor into the dying state will cause all generators within a 32 meter radius to instantly explode and regress. This applies additional regression of 8%-9%-10%.

    ---

And that's a wrap. Like the Survivors, here are some other perks that could use some improvement: Iron Maiden, Lightborn, Mad Grit, Spies From The Shadows, and Hangman's Trick.

Feel free to tell me what you think. I know that most of this probably isn't gonna happen, but hey, it's fun to brainstorm.

I like everything except for Coulrophobia. I feel like with that change it would just be a better version of Thanatophobia and no one would run Thanatophobia anymore.

  • Billy. No ultra rare add-ons period. Bubba doesn't need an add-on change, his entire power needs to be looked at.

  • I was drawn to Billy from the get go just because of his amazing map pressure. The fact that he is a high tier killer is just an added bonus.

  • These are all good perks, but my vote would have to go to small game. It's an extremely useful perk to counter NOED along with any possible hexes they may have. If they don't have any hexes, you still get points for cleansing the totems! It's a win-win

  • @suli033 said:

@Crazewtboy Why would I say they recover from exhaustion in 8 seconds that's abit silly ain't it lol I'm saying 8/10 seconds of exhaustion while sprinting making it 32/30 seconds to recover.

Ok, thank god. Hey, you never know with some people these days!

  • @suli033 said:

Vigil should be buffed to allow the survivor to recover 8 seconds while sprinting with or without the other effects. This would make it a stronger perk but not an OP perk by any means.

Are you suggesting that they recover 8 seconds of exhaustion while running or that they FULLY recover from exhaustion in 8 seconds while running?

    Thanks!

  • Welcome to the survivor side. We have loads of fun in store (and a bit of rage)!

Some tips right off the bat are to stick with one person to level up, as you have been doing so far. Don't worry about bringing other survivors up right now. That will come later. Focus on building your roster of perks on one person for now. When you buy your perks, buy things that fit your play style. It is more important to have perks that you like and fit you and not the meta perks because while some perks may be good for some, they might not work for your play style. You'll want to pick your play style right away. Either learn to be a runner (looping, distracting, saving) or learn to play stealth (not getting caught, doing gens, doing totems, etc.) If NOED seems to be a problem, bring small game. It works wonders on totems. For the most part, the rest is memory. You already know the maps, and I'm assuming how to play against killers. Now use that information in reverse against the killer. One of the hardest pills to swallow on the survivor side is that the killer is ultimately in control, they can play however they want, and you do not have the right to escape. These are the things that people get the angriest over. Once you accept these things, you can remain calm, and that helps you play more reasonably while also having more fun!

  • Leatherface is pretty simple to avoid. He slows down when he charges his chainsaw giving some time to put distance between you. Try to use windows to avoid it. Always make sure you have a bit of distance between you, or an object like a pallet or tree. If you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, run around a box and hope that he hits it while trying to turn. A 360 will rarely work on the Cannibal because of the chainsaw hitbox.

As far as Billy, I main him, and I can tell you his biggest weakness is turning. You get to a spot where he can't use his chainsaw (typically a loop) then he will be forced to use his hammer. Some Billy's will only use their chainsaw and if this is the case, loop them. If you happen to find yourself in an open field with him revving up the saw behind you, your actions should depend on how good he is. If he is bad, he will expect you to run straight. Cut to the side and do not give him a straight line. Do not fake one way and cut the other against a bad Billy because when he goes straight you will run right back into him. If he catches on, change it up and go the opposite way. A good Billy will anticipate your turn. This is the time to fake one direction and cut back the other way as he will not chainsaw straight, but to the side where he thinks you'll go. If they catch on, change it up once again. A good tactic against a good Billy is to run straight. They will expect you to play smart and cut to the side, so if you play dumb and run straight it will catch them off guard. This has limited uses though and should only be used when you have no other option.

  • The devs do not ban directly for the use of custom icons however there is no guarantee that the anti-cheat won't pick it up as a third party system and ban you automatically. I believe the developers will not revert this ban either.

  • The posts telling people to stop complaining about something is just as pointless, if not more pointless than an actual post complaining. You aren't even offering anything new for feedback. Just yelling that others don't share the same opinion

  • @beatddb said:

I keep reading it all over the forums: "NOED is such a crutch perk because it rewards the killer for being bad", and I believe this can't be further from the truth.

You, as a killer, can play good and still have the 5 gens completed, specially if you're using low-tier characters.

NOED doesn't rewards the killer for playing bad, it penalizes bad survivor gameplay.

Another thing some people have been asking is for a totem counter on the HUD, this wouldn't just be a big nerf to NOED but also a buff to gens. Because if the counter reachs zero, no one will spend time searching for totems and they instead will do gens. And we have enough of gens speed complaints already right?

NOED is not a crutch perk nor an OP one, just cleanse the totems. :)

I agree. If you don't want to cleanse totems as survivor then that is fine, but don't complain when the killer then has NOED. As far as it being a perk that rewards bad gameplay, it CAN be. It's very controversial. When used on a lower tier killer than yes, it doesn't reward bad gameplay, but instead can just help you collect that final kill or two. However, because it is so easily accessed, newer players use it a lot and they rely heavily on it. Due to this they do not try to get better at other aspects such as gen control and literally use NOED just to reward their own gameplay. Of course they paid for the game, they can use whatever perk they want. Just wanted to point this out.

  • @WickedKatz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/95450/noed-does-not-rewards-the-killer-for-playing-badly

Your post is further from the truth. NOED does reward bad players, since the main objective is to do gens and prevent gens. The survivors dont have to check all map for totems, noed activating doesnt mean bad survivor plays, it means the survivors were focused on doing gens. If you compared noed and adrenaline, which is the most common killer main thing to say, Noed activates if you dont do the Gatekeeper objective as killer, and Adrenaline activates if you do all of your objectives of the Lightbringer category. This means that noed is a noob perk, and it rewards players who cannot prevent gen completion

If you view things this way that is fine. Focus on the gens. But then don't complain if you get hit with NOED. That's all I'm saying.

  • #########! Thanks for the warning. I haven't even logged in yet so I'm glad I know what I'm about to be dealing with. I have noticed their is more mori users during this time, but hey, what can you do. They paid for the game, they can use whatever they like. It's just as bad as new killers being forced to play against a group of high rank swf because they were all reset back to white.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

Maybe keep mori as it is but have the hatch spawn after 2 complete gens.

Imagine if all survivors had a key and the killer had an ebony mori.

    Talk about a spice storm.

It's very rare that you see that scenario. Most of the time it will be one or the other, not both sides with ultra rare add-ons. As much as I try to stay neutral between the sides, this would be a big middle finger to anyone who plays killer.

  • Well, I'll give you props from the start. When I saw the title I thought this was gonna be another thread hating on a feature that hasn't even been fully released yet (in a way still kind of is) but instead it's about servers. I understand your frustration, but from what I've heard, the servers are starting to work fairly well. It could be because you are further away from the server for your area which will give you a weaker connection overall.

  • The only thing I really relate to is the gen destroyer builds. It is a MASSIVE action speed debuff, even worse than Legion (who I would rather play against comparing them and this build). As a couple others have already said, if I spawn in and see you have that build, I'm either disconnecting or letting him kill me simply because the game would be a waste of my time. I'm gonna die anyway so why prolong it?

  • As a survivor, I just play the game. I loop when needed, do gens when needed, and make saves when needed. The only time I don't care about my team is when they screw me over. Otherwise I follow the "No man left behind" rule even if it means me dying

As a killer, I aim to kill all four in the less painful way possible (most of the time). I don't camp, and I try not to tunnel. But at the end of the day, I am a killer and you get no mercy.

  • My bad. It used to be suggestions and feedback. Or at least that was where I used to see them moved to.

  • There is a specific subforum here for suggestions and feedback. You can post any ideas there. They do look at them but I don't know how often.

  • It could be a variety of reasons. People could get mad and disconnect because they were outplayed. There is always that slight chance that their internet really did just die on them. There is application errors and game errors. Some people de-rank, and this means they will just disconnect regardless of where they were at in the match. Finally, the person could just be having a really ######### day and some random BS sent them over the edge.

  • I agree with most of these things, but a couple stand out in particular.

    1. The shrine. I absolutely agree that the shrine should be 8 perks. 4 survivor perks and 4 killer perks. Each side would have 2 "meta" or extremely good perks, one mediocre one and one highly situational one. This would lead to some more variety in shrine since people have way more choice, compared to now where you can look at what the best perk in shrine is, and know what perk will be in the next god knows how many games for about a week or two.
    2. Struggle. Personally, I've never had a problem with wiggling, but struggling should go. It makes the survivor side unfair for people with health problems and on top of that, it doesn't work half the time when you are pressing it. A lag spike or simply the button press not registering can lead to an unintentional early death.
    3. Billy's Ghosthits. As someone who is a P3 Billy main, I can't tell you how bad this pisses me off. I have a chainsaw lined up ready for a down, only for autolock to screw me and stop just short of the survivor, causing them to get away. I'd like to know why this is even a thing.
    4. Doctor and Frame Rate. It's not as bad as it was before, but it still isn't great. I don't play against a lot of Doctors, but when I do, it is agonizing. His ability drops the already 30fps on console down to -5fps. Combine this with overcharge and lullaby and they are guaranteed to miss skill checks and regress those gens.
  • Most times I am extremely bad at knowing when to drop a chase. My desire to catch them convinces me that it is the best option no matter how long they have ran me for all ready

Can you link what the roadmap is?

I hear people talking about it but I neer saw it

It was the year three roadmap. They announced it sometime during this stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyWcUp8RcSE

  • @Dragonredking said:

It's been 3 year, if they wanted to give reward it would already be in the game by that point.

The ranking system is garbage, being high rank only "reward" you with worse matchmaking time...

They might as much get ride of rank alltogether

False. They talked about how they wanted to add rank rewards in the future during their year 3 roadmap stream.

I could say the same thing about survivor.

Its holding the game hostage, because they arent doing gens.

    Or......

Its holding the game hostage, if the last 2 survivor arent doing gens and they camping the hatch.

So both sides can say, that the other side is holding the hostage.

I just simple say, its a game tactic and nobody hold the hostage.

I view the hatch thing as a hostage situation as well. As long as their is more than one survivor left, someone should be attempting to do a gen. Not both sitting in a corner waiting for the other to die. Guess personal opinion is what truly determines what is a hostage situation for the player.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/678393#Comment_678393

I understand not chasing someone, it's obvious bait.

Not picking someone up and hooking them next to a gen is just giving up pressure

Yeah, but apparently some people don't know how to pressure correctly. All they care about is making sure people aren't on gens at that point. Nothing else. Not hooks, or hits, or points.

  • @Acromio said:

It shouldn't even have a cooldown to begin with. He's a laughing stock.

Now allow me to ask, have you actually played as him yourself? If so, what seems to be the biggest problems that you are having. I've seen multiple people say they love him.

  • Honestly, I think it is fine as is. I could see possibly giving it one extra token, but that's about it. The reason why more people aren't using it is because a lot of people are too scared to change from meta perks.

  • @TRB124 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/678375#Comment_678375

It is holding the game hostage, especially if the killer chooses not to attack and hardcore protects the gens.

Thankfully Demogorgon won’t be able to 3 gen as effectively as doctor or hag

This. Protecting gens is one thing, but I've seen a killer straight up refuse to pick someone up or even chase them because they are so worried about gens.

  • @terumisan said:

He can't break his own portals so if you 3 gen and most of his portals are scattered he can't do anything

That is a good point. Hopefully that doesn't change. It'll add some skill to him considering you'll have to think about where you want to place your portals.

  • @ShyN3ko said:

My main concern is that he will be able to use his teleport to hold the last three gens hostage.

    This is not "hostage".

Its simple the 3 gen tactic.

And its the survivors fault, if they 3 gen themself.

And btw he cooldown is too high for the 3 gen tactic and survivor can destroy his portals.

As long as the person is willing to keep playing, then it becomes a hostage situation (for me at least). The gens simply will NOT get done in the right layout, and the only thing you can do is DC. Any scenario where you can't make ANY progress whatsoever due to the other side is a hostage scenario in my book. Yes, they did it to themselves, but there is a difference. People don't deserve to have time wasted due to the killer being so hell bent on gen time just because they did gens in a certain order.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

People who played the ptb, seem to agree that his portals are underwhelming.

Let's wait until it's released and wr try it ourselves

Yeah, I don't judge a killer's power before I play it myself. As long as his power can't be used to hold the game hostage, I'm fine

    1. Original
    2. Alien/Predator
    3. Original

In that order as well. We have received a lot of licensed chapters lately and I would like a change. Plus, licensed killers give restrictions. Their power and mori have to be unique to them. The problem is, some killers such as Ghostface, have similarities with others like Michael, which leads to them creating a killer with a hybrid power of two previous killers.

  • Same. Felt kinda underwhelming that it didn't do any severe damage. There is so many mori kills that have more potential (such as Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly) but the devs are too scared to do it.

  • The devs will not directly ban for this, but you risk being picked up the automatic system as using a third party for cheating.

  • Nobody knows for sure (except the devs and they aren't talking until the trailer drops) but I've heard rumors for the 10th of September. Judging at what time we got the PTB, this is highly unlikely. DLC typically drops two weeks after the PTB closes, so we will most likely get it before this month is over.
