About Quentin... Is it possible that you are thinking of Glen? Because he and Quentin are similar characters and Glen did die.

Maybe. It's been so long since I've seen any horror movie that isn't Halloween.

Wait, really? Did Tapp die at the end of the first Saw? I apologize, it's been a long time since I saw it! 😃

Quentin definitely lived through the events of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, and Ash is alive and kicking. As for Laurie, I suppose it's a matter of which continuity you're following. I wasn't even thinking of Halloween Resurrection, I must have blocked that horrid movie from my brain. But she lived through the two that counted, H20 and Halloween 2018!

Yeah, he did die. He was shot and bled out on the floor in the hallway (I think, it's been a long time for me too). You are right, resurrection did suck but I wouldn't consider the new Halloween as a sequel since it is a different timeline. For me it will be Halloween one, two and H20 that counts. Quentin definitely dies in the original. Don't think they were looking at remakes when they considered it.

  • @Science_Guy said:

Dying isn't required to end up in the Entity's realm. In fact, most of the Survivors are probably alive.

Remember reading somewhere that they all died alone and the entity was there to get them at the time of death. Highly doubt it since most of them disappeared.

  • @Rydog said:

My guess is: Approximately the same way Laurie, Quentin, Tapp, and Ash wound up here. They're all alive in their respective franchises, too.

No. Tapp bled out on the floor in the first movie. Laurie died in the final movie resurrection when Myers dropped her off the roof of the hospital, and Quentin sacrificed his life to Freddy so the others could survive. Not to sure about Ash. Never watched those movies.

No. Each stack of PWYF would give 10%. If you have 3 tokens (i.e. a 15 seconds chase) then the next pallet you break will be broken 30% faster.

Still only a ten percent up from Brutal Strength that disappears afterwards. Still would prefer Brutal Strength.

  • @ad19970 said:

That's too much. For Clown, you are pretty much adding four of his addons to his base kit, plus repair speed decrease. I feel like they need to be buffed in other ways. Don't forget that they will receive indirect buffs with the coming map reworks, hopefully.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/644290#Comment_644290

If you safely throw down a pallet you don't get hit by a killer. If you do get hit it means you dropped the pallet to late. The exception of course is connection problems, or perhaps some weird bug in the game.

Maybe it was connection issues. I haven't played against a lot of laggy killers recently and I haven't noticed the issue as much.

  • I have not encountered this bug. I used a rainbow map quite frequently yesterday and it highlighted everything. It might just be a glitch. Try restarting the game and see if that helps.

  • yes. EST is Eastern Standard Time and ET is Eastern Time. Same thing, just one is shorter to say.

  • @Justice said:

Why do you think it would be too much? Nothing besides hindered actually affects a chase (and that is only vaulting, not pallets), and the debuffs all disappear after being healed which Survivors should be doing anyways after evading a killer or being unhooked.

Hindered does kind of affect pallets. The killers can already hit you even though you safely threw the pallet down, so good luck even making it to the pallet with that extra slow.

  • The problem with this idea is that it would essentially be a worse Brutal Strength. Your suggesting would put tier 3 of play with your food equivalent to tier 1 of Brutal Strength. On top of that, Brutal Strength you have the entire game and don't lose it after performing an action. The only reason why you would run this over Brutal Strength is because you don't have it unlocked.

This Stranger Things chapter will bring many new player to the game. We have to be sure not to be total Ass Hats to these people. Be nice :)

”So much for alternating between them” ######### are you talking about? They’ve never alternated between them. They dropped Freddy & Pig back to back after that it was Clown, Spirit, Legion & Plague, 4 Original in a row now Ghostface & Stranger things.

I believe at one point they said they were going to alternate between licensed and non-licensed.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

Good luck, the game doesn't tell killers the most efficient way to play, so newer players in the killer role will camp the hell out of their first hook consistently until they hit a barrier, and then that will determine if they stay and try to find better, less frustrating ways to get their kills or leave. New survivors will hit that same wall sooner rather than later, because they're being camped from their very first game. In the end, it's the newer players that will determine whether they stay or go.

@Crazewtboy More experienced killers might actually make them stay, as they don't camp as much. It's the newer killers that camp the most, because they don't know any other way.

You make a good point. I didn't even think about that. I guess in the end it will boil down to the newer players. This certainly isn't a game for people with no perseverance though. You have to be able to look at your mistakes and adapt. People who can't do that probably won't end up liking the game. I wish them all luck though. We all know this is not an easy game to learn.

  • SWF REGROUPING! It took an eternity to add it but it is finally here!

  • @Chickenchaser said:

Making a new survivor must be pretty easy for the devs. New audio, and skin is All a new survivor really is visually.

Perks on the other hand are a little different. I don't expect 6 new survivor perks. I would assume both survivors are going to have the same exact 3 perks.

It's Most likely going to be the same price as the other licensed killers imo.

Seems interesting, but not what I'm expecting. You could be right though. There is definitely a catch in here somewhere.

  • When I play killer, they might (on VERY rare occasion) get mercy from me when I decide to stop chasing to do something else such as break a pallet which I know won't affect me or check on a totem that I know nobody will find. For the most part though, I treat them like any other survivor in my game. As a survivor I do the same thing. I fix gens and if they chase me I loop them (but I attempt to be a bit more lenient. I'll go for unsafe loops instead of a loop like shack) and even juke them. While I believe your first few matches can have a big effect on how you view the game, they have to learn somehow and sugarcoating the experience for them will only hurt them in the long run.

  • I have never had this problem before. What platform are you playing on? People disconnecting because of a mori is insanely childish but it doesn't surprise me. I guess the best advice I can give is to keep trying.

  • I completely agree. People always let their guard down with new DLC in this game and it typically ends the same way every time. I've noticed that people are dropping their guard even lower this time though just because it is a crossover of a show they really like watching.

  • Hopefully. They are also reducing the perk grind not just for us current players, but to make the game more appealing starting out for newer players. I know the two biggest reasons people leave is the toxicity and the grind. One of those is being fixed. Unfortunately their will always be toxic people in this community. It is a multiplayer game and some people just like playing that way. In regards to immediately playing against an experienced survivor or killer, they better hope the DLC doesn't drop at rank reset, because that might ruin their plans to recruit more people since EVERYONE will be lower ranks. I think a good way to fix this might be so people with say 500 hours can't be paired with someone with 10 hours. There shouldn't be allowed to be a massive gap like there is now.

You're right. I completely derped on that. I blame the fact that the building's central AC broke Saturday morning and it's consistantly been 90F (32.2C) every day so far. x.x

Yeah, as a general perk would kind of make sense.

Feels bad bro. Hope you don't die of heat stroke.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82308/since-sabo-is-meh

    Pass.

It's already annoying to have 2-4 toolkits in a match these days. I always see people 99% every hook and then break it when I'm about to hook someone.

If people could just sabo at will, without either a perk slot or toolkit, there'd be 0 point to playing Killer.

Add to that that pallets are a one-time use. They already remove Bloodlust (lord knows why. Bloodlust is USELESS unless every pallet is broken. IE: 10 seconds before everyone leaves/dies) so being able to reset them would be a HARD Killer nerf.

The OP wasn't suggesting that it should be base kit for all survivors, but a generic perk that you can get in all character's bloodwebs without having to unlock any teachables

  • The only thing that bothers me is tbagging. It shows cockiness and to me that is a personal invitation to deflate their ego. I still play a normal game but I ensure they don't get out that game.

  • No. Legacy should not come back. As much as I want it, the bloodweb progression is being made too easy now and it would be disrespectful in a sense to hand it out to anyone.

  • Two words: Decisive Strike. If you find yourself being tunnelled every game, this is the perk for you.

  • They are giving an extra survivor with three extra perks. It already sounds too good to be true. One of the survivors will have some garbage perks guaranteed.

Lol who are these people that complain about $5 or $10? If you are so destitute that you can't find $10 to throw away on something, how do you own a television and console, or pc capable of playing dbd? Skip a meal at McDonalds and there you go, free stranger things content. Get a grip.

Hey buddy, in the real world, something called bills exist. You don't always have money to throw away on a game.

I don't like to trash consoles bc I use a PS4 but this is so true. The higher I go, the worst survivors become: much more selfish, selfentitled, trolls and even toxic.

At least at lower ranks even if ppl suck at least most of the time they are genuinly trying *as a team* to escape. Higher-ups are there so *they* survive ######### everyone else. It's even worst since the new hatch mechanic!

I play PS4 as well. What you described is exactly what it is like. Another reason I hate red rank.

  • @HatCreature said:

I'm sure the bundle will have 1 Survivor and the Killer, the other Survivor will probably come too but by them-self. Whenever a Chapter comes they give us the option to buy each one solo if we don't want both, I'm assuming they're doing that with this.

I learned my lesson from the Plague chapter when I bought the bundle, I am not buying the Survivors unless I know their perks are good, I was very dissatisfied with Jane; unless they don't take away the Sprint Burst combo then it wasn't a waste.

I don't think so. Typically when they come by themselves it is an individual chapter and they are grouped all in the same chapter. Although it would be nice for people who want the chapter but don't want both survivors.

  • Definitely will not be normal price. If I buy this DLC at all, this will be the one where I buy individuals with auric cells instead of the chapter as a whole.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/639086#Comment_639086

    Boo-hoo?

You're preemptively unhappy that DLC with MORE CONTENT will probably cost more to buy.

It takes more money to make that content, so it makes sense it would cost more. But here you are trying to rain on everyone's parade because we're getting more content than normal.

What's next? getting angry that they won't give away content for free?

It's like going to a car dealership and going 'I want this new 2019 Subaru but it COSTS MORE than my 5 year old car! Why!?'

You seem to be missing the point. We didn't ask for this extra survivor. It was just added to the chapter. Because of this, anyone who didn't want this extra survivor will now have to pay a higher price for the chapter. As I've said before, we could have easily done without one of them and just had one survivor and one killer as we've done previously. But clearly you didn't read the other posts and I refuse to continue discussing with someone so ignorant such as yourself.

  • @TheUnendingNightmare said:

If you want BP then yes as a killer but no as a survivor.

Getting easier survivors is a great way to get easy chase points and such.

As a survivor this mean anything you'll do Will be harder bc of bad teammates.

Although, I met some terrible teammates who were rank 5 so.... -_(G_G)_-

Here on console I find that the higher rank survivors seem to be stupider than the lower ranks.

  • @venom12784 said:

It's funny people complaining about something you don't have to buy. The maps are free. You don't need the new survivors or killers to play the game. You can buy new with blood shards.

Not this time buddy. Shards can't be used to unlock licensed killers. And that's right, this is licensed!

  • Highly doubt that considering you had the nerve to impose that I was de-ranking so I could bully killers. Not everyone is this community is a toxic douchebag so it would be appreciated if you could stop grouping us together.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Except at its core, it doesnt fit the game. But yeah, great for all the people who yelled about a ST chapter even though it's an 80s sci fi show with horror nods.

Yep. Great for the game. So let's get Frankenstein next. Hes horror. Or maybe the cheschire cat. Being trapped in a new world tripping acid is pretty scary.

Devs have had some real stinkers lately and this feels like a really shallow fanservice attempt to structure the hemmoraghing that theyve caused.

But hey, mass appeal worked for fortnite.....

As I said before, it's because they knew how much money it would draw in. You're right though. It doesn't really fit and feels like it was put in as more of a money/popularity grab for the fans of the show.

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

Honestly, who cares even if it is a bit more?

At most it'd be like $10 USD for a killer and 2 survivors. 9 new perks for your characters 🤷‍♀️

Thats if they go higher than the normal price which they haven't done before so this OP is jumping the shark a bit...

Considering they raised the price on the Pig's recent cosmetics I think it's okay for me to jump the shark. At the end of the day, they are after money.

  • @Galklife said:

just derank to use my toxic build (yes some killers called that toxic) plunders, bond, small games, hope xD

funny enough most players that de-rank (except small % of ppl that everybody think its majority which want easy games) just wants to play chill game, this game has no "normal" or "casual" queue, its only rank on which (funny enough) many ppl thinks its competitive game and sweat their asses of, and those deranking players would play casual mode to not worry about purple add ons or playing vs 3 killers all the time or vs mori every 4th game.

Imo deranking to at most R7 is fine (its rank on which im trying my best to stay and not rank up)

ofc to be clear, those who de-ranks to make killer feels miserable should get punished, but dont throw all ppl into the same box

so as long as there wont be 2nd que (for example without bringing items and add ons, and non bp offerings) ppl will de rank to have chill games without having to be slugged for 4 min because killer wants to 4k or without players for whose gens are before friends, BUT devs many many times told, player base is too low for 2 queues

That's what I'm saying! We shouldn't all be grouped as people who want to ruin the experience! As much as I would love a casual queue, I can see where they are coming from with the playerbase thing.

  • @LCGaster said:

You can buy characters separately, if you don't like one don't buy them

Typically if I buy something, I buy the whole chapter. But this might be the first time that changes. I refuse to pay a higher price because of an extra survivor. However, I'm not buying anything until I see some gameplay.

But its definitely gonna make the dlc cost at least 11$.

    Yep.

  • @Gardenia said:

Tbh, OP I agree with you. I saw the trailer, I've never been into stranger things but it's interesting how many other people throw all caution to the wind when they're ready excited about a new chapter. I might just wait this one out, until I see the perks or PTB, and then I may only just buy 1 Survivor because I don't think I can play killer anymore.

Yep. And it typically ends the same way. We throw caution to the wind, it turns out to be garbage (or turns into garbage) and then we all get mad we wasted our money. Once I see the perks and the price, I'll decide if I am going to buy it.

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

Yeah just, uh, don't buy it. Problem solved.

In a world of lootboxes, you really want to complain about DBD's transparent DLC content?

    Ok

I don't buy lootboxes so they don't really affect me, but yes lootboxes are garbage too. They shouldn't exist in the gaming industry and anyone who thinks they are good needs to have their head examined. I just don't like that there will be a price increase in the DLC because of an extra character.

  • @Jesya said:

New DLCs every quarter and weekly cosmetics aren't needed either.

If BHVR had an opportunity to get both Nancy and Steve why would they pass it up? It's a good addition to the game and the majority, so far, seem very pleased with it.

Sorry I just don't see why you seem to be upset over this. Because of a potential price increase? Because they are adding something into the game that makes the community happy even though it isn't "needed"?

You just can't please everyone all the time. Sorry you are unhappy about the cost that has yet to be revealed, and this DLC. Maybe next time bucko. I'm going back to the hype train.

Have fun with that, and when they reveal the higher price, I will be watching for threads complaining to say I told you so.

  • @Jesya said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/638361#Comment_638361

They are sharing profits with the license holder. Of course they are going to increase the price.

DBD is a business after all... you know... the end goal is to make money.

They have shared the profits with other licensed chapters in the past for the normal price. There is nothing wrong with that. We have always had a survivor and a killer in past chapters and there was no need to change that. The extra survivor was not needed. I know the main goal is to make money. That's why they did this crossover in the first place. They knew it would make more bank than any other DLC because only God knows how much money people are willing to spend on a videogame character.

  • @Jesya said:

You are probably right that this DLC is going to cost extra. It's licensed and there are 3 new characters 2 of which were most likely paid for their voice in the game. You don't have to purchase it. Capitalism is great, isn't it?

Maybe instead of being a debbie downer look on the bright side. I already see people on twitter saying they are going to purchase the game now. Now there won't be those threads that the game is dying because there are lulls in the amount of active players.

So while you didn't want this in DBD... many others do and are very happy.

If it cost extra I don't plan on buying it. But I love how all the backlash I'm getting is not from my main point, but from my opinion. All the backlash is coming from the fact that I didn't want a stranger things chapter instead of the point of this post which is that it will cost extra because they decided to add an extra survivor which we could have done without.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    Don't be a downer.

I doubt one Survivor is going to tack on $5, but if you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm hyped, and I've never even seen the show.

You can doubt all you want, but at the end of the day, it is ultimately about the money. They already raised the cost of Pig's cosmetics because they knew people would buy it. Wouldn't surprise me if they do the same with the chapter.

  • @Science_Guy said:

Well, I was already miffed that another licensed release = shards useless yet again. I didn't care for Jane so, now it's going to be a full year of shards saved up before another survivor comes. Meh.

Same. I was really hoping for an original chapter. Personally I find the ones behaviour makes to be better than the licensed ones. So much for alternating between them.
