  • Can't play DBD right now on PS4, what kind of bugs are you running into?

  • I don't think it should be easy to earn it, but this is totally unfair, and that can be easily seen by anyone who is aware of what end game collapse does. I could see them reworking it so it would say something like this "Left Behind: Be the last (or only) survivor to escape the trial 50 times."

  • Whatever they do, hopefully they can make it so it doesn't just apply to the basement and instead apply it to all hooks. Wouldn't mind making what monstrous shrine currently does a base thing since the basement is a dangerous place and should be high risk-high reward anyway.

  • Yeah, it's even worse on the killer side with the excessively long queue times. You wait 20 minutes for a game just for everyone to leave.

  • @mdlat said:

PATROLLING: going from place to place to check for running generators and survivors working on them.

Benefit: you can establish a route with primary generators to patrol to that survivors will be more likely to try to activate.

Drawbacks: your Terror radius tends to be a dead giveaway and survivors will tend to hide long before you have them in sight. If you can't get them in sight and chase any down to hook any of them, they will dance circles around you.

TRAPPING: killers that are able to use this tactic can set up any kind of trap that will help catch the survivors off guard.

Benefits: you can usually get I Survivor to come across one of your traps limited to The Killers abilities themselves. ( the hag having especially useful trap as she can teleport to her traps and they are unable to be deactivated).

Drawbacks: aside from the hag, killers that are able to use this tactic do not have effective traps and survivors typically Escape or deactivate them before the killer has time to arrive. Most Killers do not have the capability to use this tactic in the first place.

FISHING(CAMPING): most effective yet also most frowned upon even though it is a tactic actual Killers use in real life. Capturing a survivor and lingering around the area to wait for another Survivor to attempt to rescue them.

Benefit: you can almost always draw in other survivors while patrolling the immediate nearby area to keep your bait in sight.

Drawbacks: staying around your bait can leave the rest of the area open for survivors to work on generators and finding useful items. ( plus people get pissed off whenever you use this tactic because more often than not they fall for it and die. Even though with the setup this game has, it is more specifically geared for fishing then anything else.)

    "Important note"

Any and all tactics killers are able to use in this game regardless of what it is or how unsporting it May seem are the only tactics available in this game.

Don't complain to because you lost. Bashing for any reason is an unsporting behavior that is commonly not tolerated among the game moderators.

You can disarm Hag Phantasm Traps, but it requires a flashlight.

  • @Peanits Close this thread please. My question has been answered.

  • @Shaped said:

You said you were too lazy to "rewatch" the stream and now you are saying you didn't watch it. Make up your mind... smh.

Make up my mind? So are you calling me a liar and saying I watched it? I just woke up and my brain isn't fully working yet so excuse the mistake in the post. I know what I did and didn't do and I can tell you that I did not watch that dev stream.

  • @Shaped said:

Read my comment history then. What more do you want me to say? Freddy is not getting a nerf. You watched the stream and still asking this question?

I didn't watch the stream or I wouldn't have asked the question. It was just hard to tell with your comment because I have seen quite a bit of people in any thread that has "Freddy" and "nerf" in the title typing "no" and leaving so I wanted to make sure I was getting a valid response.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

The devs said in the stream they have no intention of changing Freddy anytime soon.

    Thanks!

  • @Shaped said:

    No.

Did you actually read my thread and present this as an actual answer, or are you one of those people running around to any thread with Freddy and nerf in the same title to leave that comment?

  • I didn't like Badham originally, simply because the map design left me with a feeling of I'm about to lose this game on both sides (but survivor was typically because my team was bad so I'm mainly referring to killer), and now I feel like they made the map bigger and a bit harder for the killer to pressure. On top of that, me constantly getting the map makes me hate it even more because I like variety. Oh, I forgot to mention that all versions of the map kill the frame rate on console (at least on PS4) so that's fun.

  • Thanks! I hate using anything from my inventory so I just save it while hunting for new things. It led to this pile up/mess in the long run XD

    Okay, lets see...

I have 16 brown medkits, 19 brown toolboxes

17 yellow medkits, 33 yellow flashlights, 11 yellow toolboxes

12 green keys, 9 Mechanics toolboxes, 8 green flashlights, 19 green medkits, 11 green maps, 9 commodious toolboxes

5 engineer toolboxes, 3 purple medkits, 4 purple flashlights, 1 lonely purple key, 5 Alex's toolboxes

6 rainbow maps, 3 red keys

32 winter party starters, 6 third year party starters, 1 lonely halloween lunchbox, 6 chinese party starters

    and no spooky flashlight

There is room for improvement in my collection.

(sorry I didn't answer earlier I had to go to work before I could look it up)

On my P3 Ace I have: 50 Brown toolboxes, 53 brown med-kits, 42 yellow toolboxes, 57 yellow flashlights, 47 yellow med-kits, 22 green flashlights, 22 green (mechanic's) toolboxes, 16 green maps, 18 green med-kits, 18 green (commodious) toolboxes, 5 broken keys, 14 purple flashlights, 14 purple med-kits, 14 purple (engineer's) toolboxes, 12 purple keys, 8 purple (Alex's) toolboxes, 13 red keys, 13 red maps, 54 winter party starters, 18 will o' wisps, 18 third year anniversary party starters, 27 Chinese firecrackers and 20 All Hallow's Eve lunchboxes.

For add-ons I have: 27 Syringes, 17 Brand New Parts, 15 Odd Bulbs, 15 Blood Ambers, 10 Crystal Beads, 20 High End Sapphire Lens, 13 Milky Glass, 31 Styptic Agents and 15 Weaved Rings.

  • Dwight. They always look like they have no idea what they're doing.

  • Don't forget that the symbol indicating a survivor has No Mither should also be removed. The perk would actually get a chance to be used if it wasn't on display the entire match for the killer. Without the symbol, there is a good chance the killer could forget (especially if they have more than one injured person), but as long as they see you are broken, they will pick you up immediately.

  • Pallets get annoying after a while, and I can understand the frustration since you don't really have time to run around the map to see where every pallet is located, but saying they should nerf him already is a bit too far. Give people some time and then we will decide if he needs tweaks. But when people cry out for a nerf immediately, we get exactly what happened with original Freddy.

It may be fun for you, but even at purple-red ranks, it's not fun to go against. Especially when my framerate dips when lunging. : P

I never have problems against SWF when I play killer at high ranks. Maybe it's just a me thing. I agree that the frame rate can be terrible though.

Yeah i have quite a bit on my claudette as well. it made the game alot more scary back in the day

It also made anyone wearing dark clothing a nightmare for the killer (especially on the Macmillan Estate or Haddonfield). On top of making it hard for the devs it was a major balance issue.

To each their own, but I cannot play killer without Whispers. It's a useful radar that helps to narrow down where survivors are (and just as importantly, where they AREN'T). I think it's the best all-purpose killer perk in the game. I don't have an issue with it interfering with sound cues, but it could probably be changed to a visual-only cue that accomplishes the same thing.

I do just fine without the annoying voice in my ears. I have never had a problem finding survivors so if this ever does happen it should at least be able to be toggled.

  • I can see why they got rid of them. It makes things easier for them with the lighting on the maps. But I still have quite a bit on Ace and wouldn't mind them reworking them to add them back in for use.

  • I would hate having whispers built in on my killers. It takes away from being able to hear footsteps, groans of pain, etc. and instead gives me a useless notification that someone is in the area by ######### my ears. It would be good for new killers, but not experienced ones.

  • Billy for the win! Although I have been playing less of him. I might start playing Freddy more now!

  • Agreed. The slow does feel a bit underwhelming. The pallets are so much more appealing.

  • @Boosted_Dwight said:

He was only out for one day so I doubt survivors are gonna do well against him yet.

    This!

  • He is fine right now. People need time to learn how to play against him. Otherwise we just have a repeat of his release.

  • I would hope they have enough sense to not touch him. Otherwise we have gotten literally nowhere since his release.

  • No perks should be removed. I'm tired of seeing threads like this where people think the best solution is to remove everything. Some changes to a few perks might be necessary but everything needs to stay. The answer is not to remove perks but to balance them. If the devs were to listen to all these threads then we wouldn't have any perks left!

  • If they do this then I will stop playing the game. Prestige is an accomplishment. If you can buy bloodpoints then you have pretty much bought your prestige and it no longer becomes an accomplishment. Prestige is the only thing that keeps me going. Without it I would have quit a long time ago.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

I would give them the ability to kill the last survivor by hand if they have that ritual, that way it isn't overpowered and they have to actually down the last survivor in the trial to make use of it, making it challenging, but rewarding(and the last survivor would die anyways). Or give them a Cypress Memento Mori if they don't have any Moris until they complete the ritual(for example if they are given a Cypress Mori, and use it but don't complete the ritual, they're given another).

Sounds good to me! It's just so annoying seeing it and knowing that even though you want the points, you have to delete it because you don't have a mori on that killer.

  • @Mew said:

God, i miss when rituals used to give you so many points (i loved getting 75k just from doing a wraith daily... it was tasty.)

i like the idea of giving that specific killer an ivory till you get it though. Itd be nice.

    That would work!

  • I am having the same problem. I think it is an issue on behaviour's part.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:

That'd be nice. Since its such a "high bar" ritual if you don't have a mori or kill perk so your suggestion would make sense.

Sure rituals are there to make you try other Killers/Survivors but this one specifically only works if you use the Killer requested.

Or dump hard earned BP into them, a Killer you don't use, just to get back some of the BP you spent to get the mori.

Exactly! Thank you for understanding what I was trying to say!

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/583831#Comment_583831

This, if I get it on someone without a Mori it stinks but I just delete it. It’s worth the chance to see it every once in a while

Hence why I said KEEP IT! But make so the game can only give it to you on PEOPLE YOU HAVE A MORI ON when you do get it. Everyone seems to be missing the point of this post.

  • I like playing with friends. Always fun when we can use strategy to outsmart a killer and being on comms usually creates more funny moments then you get while solo queuing. There is also something satisfying about seeing someone chase you for as long as they do only to hear the gens go off one by one.

  • I always enjoy seeing Haddonfield, not just because of the loops with Balanced Landing but because I like the way the map looks, Blood Lodge, Less penalizing if people waste pallets, and Ironworks just because it always seems to go over well.

I hate Shelter Woods because it's too open, The Meat Plant because I can never tell where the killer is at and the double floors annoy the ######### out of me and Badham Preschool (before rework, haven't played on reworked version) because f*ck that map. All my games there end terribly

You can still mindgame the pallets. It still works most of the time. Does that make it less boring? It could. But will it help you put and end to it faster? Most likely.

Also this is assuming it isn't a safe loop.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Crazewtboy "Looping" in general isnt boring, but on maps like Gas Heaven, where you have giant open areas you can CLEARLY see over...Its completely braindead. You can see everything a mile away, and theres no skill taking place of running in a circle. Jungle gyms can be gamed on both sides, but the 2 ft garbage piles with a pallet... Completely breaks any tension since they offer perfect view from long distance as well as just being time wasters instead of engaging play.

You can still mindgame the pallets. It still works most of the time. Does that make it less boring? It could. But will it help you put and end to it faster? Most likely.

  • The only problem I have with him is that you can literally outrun his chainsaw sprint making it super easy to deny him the hit.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Crazewtboy Never said it WAS fun. Turning your mind off cuz all you have to do is hold a button and keep an eye out for a killer you can easily spot on the other side of the map over abunch of piles of 2 ft garbage is boring. Thats why Im refering to the jumpscare myers games where you have to constantly be vigilant about every doorway around you and be ready to move at a moments notice.

I don't quite understand what your saying. Are you talking about looping? If so are you referring to killer, survivor or both?

  • The problem extends to both sides and all boils down to the people playing. Welcome to DBD! There is a lot of people in this community on both sides who can't take a loss and feel the need to blame everyone/everything but themselves. People get mad because you damaged their over-inflated ego by beating them in an online game, so they message you and attempt to ruin your day so you can suffer as well. Best way to go about it is to disable your messages in your settings. Sad that you have to resort to that to play a game you like in peace.

  • @LordGlint said:

It doesnt even have to be a matter of slow survivors are forced to hide in bushes though. ATM with many pallet loops, theres 0 mindgame at all. You can clearly see over the 2 ft pile of rubbish your looping around. Compare those to instances of a typical scratched mirror myers game on Lerys where EVERY room you walk into could result in a surprise. Running in circles around garbage is...boring. Those jumpscare myers games are typically fun for everyone involved.

As someone who plays both sides, I can tell you that holding R1 or M1 for 80 seconds isn't fun either. Both sides have boring, tedious aspects.

  • I wish they would have kept the concept of safe hook saves as well. That way you could still prevent more than one person from getting it and you have to work for it. I agree that it needed a nerf, but in it's current state it is practically useless.

  • Lag switching is basically where someone turns off their connection for a few seconds before quickly turning it back on, causing anyone running off of the host's connection to lag so bad that they normally can't move. You can typically tell this apart from normal lag because the killer will be standing in one spot and then teleport to hit you.

  • @johnmwarner and @KillermainBTWm8 I wasn't suggesting we get rid of it. I suggested that we only make it available to killers who have a mori in their inventory. I still want the points, but all my moris are on Billy, Myers and Clown and not the people it constantly gives me the ritual for.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    Uhm, Rancor? Devour Hope?

Some people might not have those perks.

  • @Nea_Death_Experience said:

This encourages you to play all killers. I only play 5 in the roster so I scrap the rest

I get that, but it is still stupid that you lose out on points just because you didn't have a mori on that character

  • @Mc_Harty said:

Welcome to the bias that is Dead by Daylight. People sling ######### all the time at each other and see what sticks.

    "You're a survivor main, you're a killer main..."

If the forums aren't consistently arguing about which side is the biggest victim, I'd be worried.

Unfortunately this is too true. It's one big ######### storm over which side has it worse and what should be done to the other side to fix it.

  • Not my entire build but one perk tends to fluctuate with whatever fits my mood. I run Self Care, Dead Hard (which I just recently swapped out for Lithe to see if I like it better) and Adrenaline at all times. My last perk right now is Windows as I was playing solo survivor earlier but if I'm annoyed with being farmed off hook it will be Decisive, if I feel like going for saves it will be Borrowed Time and if I feel like gen rushing it will be Prove Thyself. Rarely I will use a perk other than what was named above for my last perk.

  • Survivor is just a skin so it is really whoever you think looks the best or whoever you have the most perks on. I main Ace because he was my first P3 level 50 survivor. Plus I don't see a lot of P3 Ace mains so it makes me feel special :D

    in l Comment by Crazewtboy
  • As someone who used to be a P3 Billy main, I can honestly say that I don't play him as much anymore because it gets boring playing the same person. That, and I rarely play killer anymore because I don't find it as much fun as I used to.
