Even if you were to buff it - how exactly? (im not saying they should be buffed im asking how you would buff it)
I think what the OP was suggesting was that they increase the pick up time again so you get a better chance to get into position.
-
They are fine where they are honestly. It shouldn't be something that happens often. The ways you said killers could counter it were all there with the extended pick up (minus the new perks obviously). I feel that any change to it would drastically affect the item too much for one side. Right now you have to be in the right place at the right time, or hope the killer makes a mistake and it should stay that way. The option should not always be present.
-
There is only one thing that I agree with in this post and it is that the Yamoka Estate should be reworked. Often the gens will spawn further apart than other maps making only certain killers viable like you said. The grass also hides scratch marks which takes away the killer's main way to track down a survivor. The offerings should stay as they are a one time use and you lose it upon burning it. The only way the map offerings could be detrimental to your game is if the map is say Haddonfield and they all run Balanced Landing to loop you around the Strode house. However if you were to rework the map then this wouldn't be a problem. Keep in mind that the killer can do the same with map offerings where they use them because a certain map goes better with their build such as an impossible skillchecks Doctor on the Meat Plant or a scratched mirror Myers on the Institute. It can be used both ways. Splinters should stay because it lets new players test out what killers they like and might potentially buy. However I could see an option in the menu that stops splinters from generating all together for people who don't wish to see them.
-
Yes! I have been saying that this feature should be able to be toggled in the menu for a while now. It constantly causes me to hit walls during loops and occasionally I will miss a hit because of it. The worst thing though is when I'm about to chainsaw someone (Billy main) and the aim assist is like "nah, f*ck you mate" and stops my chainsaw right before it connects because for some reason it thinks it has locked on and connected when it really hasn't.
-
@Dehitay said:
Since when does auto aim work with lunges? And if it does, why does 360'ing ever work?
It always has since I've been playing the game. The 360 breaks the aim assist or something along the lines of that.
-
When is the freddy patch set to release? (if there is a planned date)
I have heard July 23rd which is Tuesday.
-
Thought this post was gonna be about a competition for survivors to make perks that could be implemented in game. Kinda sad now :(
-
Killer mains love to make this claim that survivors have a set of rules killer's should abide by, and to their credit it's true in some areas.
This post has some major hypocrisy in it. You say that it isn't right to classify all survivors as whiny and toxic but then go on to say that these are the made up rules killer's have for survivors. So you didn't specify some killers but you just said killers which implies in general. So it isn't okay for killers to classify all survivors in that manor but it is okay to do it to killers?
-
@GrootDude said:
He put it in his video because the survivors rulebook for killers gets mentioned more, I think he knows about the killers rulebook for survivors.
Exactly! And it was a f**cking joke! People take some things way too seriously.
-
He is fairly useful when played correctly but obviously he isn't as good as killer's such as Nurse or Billy. He power is great for area denial and can make safe loops unsafe and unsafe loops a hit/down if he knows what he is doing. The bottles will slow survivors down and force them to throw pallets down early in a safe loop and in unsafe loops, when used with a mindgame, you will typically be able to hit the survivor through the pallet due to them being slower. When caught alone without pallets the tonic essentially gives you a free hit unless they have dead hard (which add-ons can fix). His map pressure is lacking, but if you can end loops fast enough then it shouldn't be too much of a problem as a perk like Pop Goes the Weasel or Ruin will take it from there.
-
It's because of mainly the toxicity. The community is already super toxic and as more people come to the game I find it increases more and more. No one wants to play a game where they have to put up with toxic players 24/7. The other major problem is queue times. They are incredibly long right now on the killer side (at least on console) and it gets annoying waiting 15 minutes to find a lobby just because you would rather play one role over the other. I have heard YouTubers/Twitch streamers say that the game is no longer fun to play like it used to be and I don't think they would still be playing it if it wasn't for the fact that switching games would kill their channels.
-
What you are suggesting could potentially be worse. Where you here during the bug where you didn't have to time flashlight or pallet saves? That made playing killer a living hell! What you just suggested was adding the pallet part back in, but as a game mechanic instead of a bug. Imagine you have survivors gen rushing and you are being looped. When you finally down them, they know that they can wait at the pallet instead of dropping it which leads to a free save from another survivor which will presumably be following them around for said save. Rinse and repeat this process for anyone else. It's a good way to make killer super unfun.
-
If I play a killer with a one hit down (which I typically do as a Billy main), I will go for the unhooker because if it works then there is still one on the hook and one down. Otherwise I will be that guy who slaps down the person being unhooked if it is done right in front of me. Unhooking in front of the killer is practically begging them to hook the same person again and is a bad play all around (especially without Borrowed Time) so I have no problem with capitalizing on said bad play for another hook and a faster chance to eliminate the survivor from my game. I am not afraid to admit this. Am I someone who tunnels? No, but I will take advantage of you farming your teammate.
-
Well Mettle of Man got ran into the ground. Not saying it didn't need a nerf because it did, but holy ######### they killed it.

@NeonAlien said:
Ruin is def the most annoying for me. Mainly because I have to go against it 9/10 games, and I dislike the mechanic because it makes the already tedious repairs even more tedious. Most of the time I can deal with it and Power through, but sometimes it really wears me down, combined with all the bugs and useless teammates. If it wasn't the most used perk, I wouldn't dislike it as much, but as it stands I've come to hate this perk. I'd rather have noed every game than ruin.
Also, nurse calling. Once you figure out a killer has it, it's already too late. Though I totally get the appeal, I love to use it on spirit.
Honestly I think that is why it annoys most people. It just gets annoying when you play against a killer running it practically every match. Also the Bond thing goes back to what I was saying before. Sometimes you'd rather not know what your team is doing.
-
@Spicybarbecue said:
DS,BT, Adrenaline and dead are are all crutch perks that shouldn't even exist in a game like this.
also NOED but killers are basically forced to run NOED right now
I'm not going to debate this too much, but technically all perks are crutches in a way as they help you do something that you would have a harder time doing or wouldn't be able to do at all without the perk.

Just in general. I mean why abbreviate when most newbies won't know the meaning? Especially when you are typing lots anyway?
Don't mind me. Just my 2 cents
That's a good point. I myself don't tend to abbreviate, but a lot of others do it on the forum.

@Aven_Fallen said:
It is mostly not only the Perks, but more the people who are using it.
Survivor Perks:
We are gonna live forever:
Still a terrible farming Perk. Had a prime example in my team yesterday, only unhooked me and was hiding afterwards. I got no heal (because it does not give any Stack..), was found by the Killer because I was the only person he saw and was hooked again soon after.
Borrowed Time:
It is a great Perk. But BT does not mean that you should run to the Hook when the Killer just hooked a Survivor.
Self Care:
Also depending on the people using it. Like, stop wasting time using Self Care on the other end of the Map while the Killer has Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia. Just annoying, especially, when the last Gen is about to pop and said person has Adrenaline.
Bond:
As stated above, when it is used wrong. Bond is such a great Perk, but two things annoy me:
Sometimes I dont want to see what my Teammates are doing (or better: not doing)
And then those persons who think that it is cool to run to other Survivors to lose the Killer.
Killer Perks:
NOED:
Simply a dumb Perk. Yeah, yeah, cleanse Totems. Which is not optimal at all, because when I spend those seconds to cleanse one Totem, I basically have to cleanse all Totems on the Map. And if I manage to cleanse 4 Totems, it still can activate.. And I dont want to mention the amounts of time where I cleansed all Totems and basically wasted my time, because the Killer does not have NOED. I dont care about the BPs, Boldness is easy enough to get.
Also it does prevent learning Killers or how to loop. You can win Loops easily with 4% extra MS and some people are too good at doing damage reduction just because of NOED so that they dont want to learn more about their Killer(s).
Franklins Demise:
Just annoying, not even a good Perk. It usually annoys me, when using a White Ward, because then I decided to actually bring a good Item. Aaaand its gone. Also I ran into a Troll recently, who just smacks one Person with Franklins and then DCs (Franklinks Tier 3 being his only Perk).
Pop goes the Weasel:
Not because of its own effect, but more because Survivors sometimes dont get that the Killer has it (even if it visual different from a regular regression) so they tap the gen, which allows the Killer to use PGTW again.
Haunted Grounds:
Again, mostly because of other Survivors. If there is no Hex active, no reason to pop the Hex Totem. Especially not, when another Survivor is standing behind you, waving to not cleanse this thing..
Dying Light:
Such a terrible designed Perk. Promotes only tunneling, and makes the game boring when the Killer manages to activate it. And most of the time, he will lose anyway, because he gets it to work too late.
Monstrous Shrine:
The pure existence of this Perk is what annoys me.
I feel you on the bond part. Same goes for empathy or any other aura perk. There is some points when you wish you didn't know about that guy in the corner doing nothing cause it just makes you angry.

No, not meant to directly attack anyone. although BL for Balanced Landing and BL for Bloodlust could be confused as well
-
Ghostface is honestly fine where he is. He has a good amount of counter play, but can also be devastating when used correctly.
-
The exposed at base for hitting a survivor directly should definitely be part of his base kit. It would help him more in chases and reward killers who have better accuracy.

Against Survivors:
Decisive Strike if used by a SWF group. Honestly, it’s really annoying but I can see the purpose of it being used to discourage tunneling, however it gets annoying trying to figure out who still has it prepped and ready whenever you’re near endgame.
OoO is one of those perks that just frustrate me deeply. No bad player will ever be caught using it, because if they were, they’d be dead, but when used by someone who knows practically every loop in DbD and how to spam the crouch button, it’s pretty annoying.
Against Killers:
Franklins. Honestly, it’s pretty annoying to go against this and, I get it, most of the Survivor’s kit that they’re given is pretty broken right now with the ‘gen rush meta’ and ‘toxic flashlight player’ builds, but when you lose something like your Ranger Medkit, then it’s really depressing.
Haunting Ground. The cuck of the hexes. Expecting Ruin? Nope. It was Haunting. Git gud. Honestly, I find it funny that totems are supposed to be secondary objectives, but hexes like these just punish the Survivors for trying to do their objective...
Haunted Ground has screwed me so many times with the help of my teammates. Even my friends can screw me with it! I'll be in a chase and they say "Alright, I'm getting this hex real quick". Before I scream "Don't touch that totem!" I am exposed and immediately go down because look at that, some douche wasted the pallets.
-
I'm not too crazy about changing it and this is coming from someone who plays both sides fairly often. I hardly use a mori, but occasionally I will throw one on if I have a ritual or just want to have a little fun. The only thing I could see changing is that third option. The biggest problem I have with it on the survivor side is my pip. I don't care if you kill me. Screw it, I'll move to the next game, but I don't want to de-rank because I was tunneled for a mori kill. They should probably lower the rarity though. They are hardly ultra-rares. I find them in every other bloodweb on Billy and Myers.

@thesuicidefox said:
This might sound weird but...
Thrill of the Hunt. Mainly because killers usually run this to protect Ruin, which means they will be SUPER campy on their totems to the point they will throw the game to protect their totems. It's just really annoying that killers can't accept that totems aren't meant to last the whole game. If they would just take the chases to get the hooks they can generate enough early pressure to make Ruin worth it and therefore don't need to protect it as hard. If a killer does it as part of a particular build, like with Devour, it's not so bad and more understandable why they would protect their totems. But when a killer just throws it on so they can camp their Ruin super hard it's just irritating. Just to spite them I ignore the totems and rush gens, then I do the totems after all the gens are done.
I also hate Urban Evasion as survivor because people that use it insist on playing super immersed all the time and have 0 sense of urgency. They will be crouch walking everywhere and don't seem to understand that sometimes you want to, no, NEED to run places.
Completely forgot about Thrill of the Hunt, but yes I understand exactly what you mean. I have seen a Billy chainsaw camp his Ruin before because he was using Thrill. It gets quite sad and irritating after a while. It's like "come on bro, I want to play a normal match" and all they care about is their damn totem.
-
She can be fun, but if survivors know the counter and can loop you turn into an M1 killer with essentially no power. It's really up to you at the end of the day but I wouldn't recommend it if you have other killers such as Spirit or even Ghostface that you have yet to buy.
-
After reading this thread, I think what this person is trying to say is that it is not guaranteed to get you off the hook 100% of the time if you used luck offerings. This is a glitch where the game resets the luck back to 0 if your luck goes over 100% since the game does not register it possible. So in conclusion, it would be a luck perk since the luck from luck offering override the luck from Deliverance causing it to not always be that guaranteed escape. Both people are right. It does give you a free self unhook if you got a safe unhook before hand but it is also a luck perk as luck offerings can bug out the 100% luck.

Is it a chat in dbd on PS4 or are you talking about messages on menu?
They are referring to messages. As someone who plays on PS4, I can confirm that we do not have a post game chat. This makes things worse though because since we have no chat, players go to your profile and message your inbox constantly instead. The easiest way to fix this is by going to your setting and making it so only friends can add you to message groups which is what this person did.

Killer: noed, but most times u can tell, if a killer is running noed if he plays suboptimally and gets no downs. Special appearance by Billy and 3-blink-ruin-nurses :/
I personally never have problems with adrenaline (knock on wood) because survivors who attempt to run it in my games die before they can use it.
-
It is a glitch right now. Just to see if a theory is correct, what platform do you play on? Console or PC? My friend on PS4 noticed this last week. You can see a survivors black figure through walls when within a certain range if they are facing in the same direction as you. I have seen it once in my game as well.

Urban evasion. It is very useful perk even I've been running it for a while, but some teammates hide with it all the time. Gotta go fast sometimes!
Yeah, it can be really useful for immerse play styles, but there will always be those people running it who don't know the difference between being immerse, and being useless to the team.

I've been saying since the week it launched. Devotion is utterly pointless and whoever put it out in it's current state is an idiot. It does literally nothing but give us currency that we were already getting in the post game anyway. It offers no rewards, we can't display it, and we can't benefit from it in any way. With the upcoming archive and battle pass I don't see them ever doing anything to not make it a worthless addition.
"It does nothing but give us currency" unfortunately it doesn't do that and that is the problem. All you get is the shards from going through the levels to get to devotion. Like you said though, you can't even display it! Although that might be for the best as it would just give killers another excuse to dodge.
-
Your first mistake is that you are relying on Ruin to keep the gens from getting done. Never expect Ruin to stop them from doing gens as good survivors will work through it and yes, they will hit the hex skill checks. Focus on applying pressure to gens instead of just looking for survivors. As for everyone hitting the hex skill checks? It could be possible. Rank reset just happened so you might be playing with skilled players. Also matchmaking sucks. As for them knowing where you're at, low ranks on PS4 are typically filled with Ghostface so people could have Spine Chill as a counter which lets them know when to be vigilant. Or once again, it could be good survivors who just know how to watch their surroundings.

That's a really good point. I never thought about the opportunities that would open to hackers. Shards would still be a reward because all the shards you get while leveling don't amount to much. It's honestly a joke. You'll be lucky if you can get one very rare (purple) outfit with the shards given to you in those 100 levels. I say start off with a 5,000 shard bonus and then increase it by 5,000 every 5 (maybe 10, but honestly I can't see anyone having the time to hit a devotion higher than 10) devotion levels. The main problem is that it doesn't reward anything for the effort put in and that the shard pay off within the 100 levels doesn't get you far. People who want to buy cosmetics with shards feel that it is almost impossible with how low the payouts are and shards as a devotion reward would greatly boost that.
Hell, with all the outfits they constantly release, it probably wouldn't kill them to let you get one free purple outfit on any one character you want every devotion level

I don't think they want to remove the cap because it's a pretty safe way to catch blood point hackers.
Anyone going over 1Mil who hasn't been reimbursed points is a sure-fire ban.
Removing the cap makes it very easy to get around that and just ebony mori/insta heal every match you go into.
I don't see anything else they can give us besides shards but you earn them as you go so is it really a reward?

I still like the idea of every devotion level adds 100K onto the max points you can hold + maybe a small permanent boost at end game, maybe .5% every devotion level, meaning at devotion level 10 you'd have 5% more bloodpoints every match, it isn't a lot but it's a nice enough reward if you play a lot.
While I do think that you should be able to hold more bloodpoints, I think the solution to that would be just remove the cap all together like they did with the shards. But I don't think the community would accept that as a reward. Most people want shards as a devotion reward so they can buy outfits.

Sure glad they're making more stuff they can sell instead of making the game better, though. Always a good sign.
Can honestly say that I have taken breaks in all different increments before because of this. I spend anywhere from days to weeks to months away from the game and always come back thinking something will change. The first wee that seems fine, but after that I realized that nothing changed or things were made worse. Especially with the toxicity in the community. But that is another post.

its just immaturity in all honesty. take the loss or win i don't care just like leave me alone
I can confirm this. I have had adults join my parties/come into my inbox on console saying that I should get a life, kill myself, hope my family dies, etc. What you said is 100% true. It all boils down to immaturity

So January/February at best.

Hopefully they rework the way you level up devotion too. Right now it's based on time spent in a mach rather than anything gameplay related. As a killer, I can sacrifice all 4 players in under 10 min and will only receive a little over 300 devotion progression. Same as survivor if you or your team manage to finish your objective and escape the trial fast. I think it should be more based on the points that you earn in-game.
Agreed. And considering they are going to give survivors more points it would work well if it went off of points instead of time.

You shouldn't have to change your play style for other people, but unfortunately, this is where society is at now. Report them and even submit a ticket to the devs if it helps. If they start getting to you too much try to talk to someone and relax for a bit. Also would recommend taking a short break if it starts to get to you too much. Sometimes you just gotta take a bit to get your head about. All those messages back to back just make you feel worse.
-
Agreed. It felt like I actually earned shards faster with the old system. Once you get to the higher levels, it isn't so bad, but low levels are a joke as well as devotion. You literally get NOTHING for devotion except a little green number to show off and say "look, I've been playing long enough to hit devotion level (insert number here). Leveling up is very time consuming. Devotion should have a reward.
-
I am tied with two killers. The first one is Spirit. She teleports/glitches whenever she walks which can make it difficult to mindgame at times. On top of that, she doesn't have a vault animation, so it gets a little annoying if I don't know that she is going through the window. The other killer, and I know this will be surprising, is Wraith. I don't run Spine Chill or Premonition so not having the terror radius to judge when I should get off the gen really screws me over regardless of what rank I'm playing in. After he pops up, I typically panic which leads to him getting a free hit.
