No. Valid tactic.

Or just don't care anymore, man.
That's what I do now. As long as I'm getting to actually play matches and kill 2 - 4 guys, I'm fine. Who cares what the emblems say.
-
Honestly, totem number indicator would possibly kill NOED.
But at the same time, it *may* encourage survivors to cleanse once and for all. That means killers would slightly gain some time in the process. Maybe it will be better *not* to equip NOED and instead capitalize in that time gain with another perk.
If this NOED nerf proceeds, I would only suggest to increase cleansing time 3 - 5 secs.

No. It's just a gigantic waste of time.
There's no point in resetting your progress to Zero and losing all addons/offerings you may have acumulated, just to get virtual clothes. Who cares about that stuff, for real?
The "better chance of getting good stuff" is a myth. It's all RNG and I have literally hundreds of the best addons and offerings spread across all the characters I play.
All the killers I play are P0 50 with full Tier III perk repertories. Anytime I come up with an idea for a build/loadout, I can carry it out immediately. I value that much more than anything else.
IMO what matters is learning to play, winning matches, being versatile, etc. Will prestiging a character make you a better player, help you win matches?
No. Then there's no point.
-
30 seconds later, you only have 1 perk left

Ok, here's the compromise I'd propose.
The effect of Enduring on DS is 40%, but DS can only trigger for the last person to be hooked. If the killer hooks someone else, your DS timer instantly ends, and if the newly hooked player has DS, they'll have the timer for 60 seconds after unhook, or until another person is hooked.
This keeps the perk valid for anti-tunneling AND it prevents hook diving and punishing the killer for doing what they should be doing - hooking targets of opportunity.
This is an idea I could get behind. There's no reason to punish non-tunneling killers at all.

The only thing is that players adept. You should have known who you had recently hooked or had a general idea. If someone's running at you injured or getting in the way, there's usually a reason for that. It's like if someone runs at you while injured, good killers will expect a DH and wait for it.
My point is, under this specific scenario, DS is handing free escapes against even Non-tunneling killers. New DS is being marketed as an anti-tunneling perk.
Chasing and landing 3 hits on other people, downing and hooking another survivor, and THEN downing again the first guy (because he didn't equip SC or a medkit, or couldn't find someone else, whatever) after he decided not to hide, run away, etc is NOT tunneling at all. Or are we expanding the definition of that word now? Tunneling (an already made up word) now includes being downed after the killer has landed 3 hits on other 2 survivors, even hooked one of them?
As you say, killers must adapt. In my case, quick and effective adaptation comes through the use of a perk called Enduring, which I didn't equip on any killer outside my pallet-eater Trapper or Bubba, and now will certainly consider equipping.
This thread is talking about removing Enduring's ability to counter new DS, thus trying to force non-tunneling killers to eat DS under these scenarios and there's even talk about a longer stun DS. As a result, I disagree and post my opinion on it.
How about survivors adapt to new DS, and if they equip it, understand that there is now a counter named enduring?
Trying to force a playstyle, which in this specific case would be even dumb, illogical and highly inefficient for the killer, punishing him even after playing by the "made up rules" (which is already a stretch), is not healthy for the game in my opinion.

Getting mad at something is ALWAYS the responsibility and decision of he who is getting mad.
Getting mad at videogames is just another sign of childish and spoiled behaviour.
Insults, threats and every other offense spit out after the game has ended, when it will have absolutely no effect in said game's outcome, is the epitome of immaturity.
Why are 10 yo kids playing this game, anyway?
Stupid youtube videos showing kids throwing tantrums and breaking stuff, yelling insults and even crying.

@Condorloco_26 That's only if the guy playing Freddy is a trash killer, which most Freddy's are honestly. Freddy is VERY hard to use effectively, but when you know what you are doing with him you generally don't need to use those lame tactics. It's just people don't want to put in the time and take the L's to get better, so they take the path of least resistance and tunnel/camp, which are awful strategies for him.
Yeah honestly I gave up trying to get better as him, focusing instead in other killers. So like I said, I'm not the most qualified to talk about him.
Maybe now, that I don't give a rat's ass anymore about pips and ranking, I try him for a 2nd chance.
-
Wraith does some squats.
-
That's the thing:
He's weak and annoying at the same time. Being weak leaves him with fewer options, mainly the ones more frowned upon by survivors. Being annoying is just the cherry on top.
But honestly there are some good Freddys that post regularly in the forum, so perhaps they can explain better.
Anyway, my escape rate against Freddy is like 2%, and my kill rate as him is like 2% also, so certainly I am not the most qualified guy to talk about him LOL
-
I use it on my Trapper. When I get "blessed" with a pallet heavy map, it works wonders. I just break every pallet and kick every gen. Every 5 kicks you've already saved 1. Clearing 20 pallets in the same time you'd clear only 16 without it, is a good thing to me. Those saved seconds mean a lot.
Besides, survivors don't gain too much distance after dropping the pallet, since they usually wait to the last instant to do so, and some tbag or self care on the other side.
Now, BS coupled with Spirit fury and Enduring, give you the speed boost PLUS it's a free hit every 3rd pallet. I just had a match 2 or 3 days ago where my SF was activated 5 times in the new map. Landed hits on all five. That means a lot of pressure on survivors. And you can almost insta-down the survivor if you land the first hit at the same time the pallet breaks on your head.

It still forces medium vaults.
Ok maybe I'll give him a try with a chaser/pallet eater build. Just to see how it goes.

If you look at the Killer order there, the five free Killers (Evan, Philip, Max, Sally and Anna) are first. After that, all of the payed Killers are in order. However, Bubba came AFTER Herman, so he was in the wrong place, which annoyed me to no end.
Hope that explains it.
Whaaaaat???
On PS4 I've always had:
Mr. McMillan, Mr. Ojomo, Mr. Thompson, Miss Smithson.
Miss Sherwood, Dr. Carter, Mr. Myers, Anna.
Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Krueger, Miss Young, Mr. Hawk.
Miss Yamaoka, "those undesirables", and now Adiris.
Anna traded places with Mr. Sawyer in my PS4. Is it different for every platform??

r u saying hes a bad killer??? how can u outrun his bottles. he can aim and throw it anywhere. he can block off paths with it. also his toxins can do a lot since u cant fast vault, u run slower, and it gives u exhaustion. on top of that hes so fast. hes literally a tier 1 killer. probs the best killer in the game other than myers and mr. billy.
Kind of. Yes you can aim and throw wherever you want, but it takes ages to do so, you slow down while doing it, and flying bottles are too slow to be thrown far away and NOT be dodged entirely, meaning survivors just turn somewhere else. Most of the time you're only left with the option of throwing them at survivors' feet to land a hit. But you might as well just hit them normally if you're that close to them.
The only real advantage that Clown had at the beginning was shutting down loops in those dreadful T-wall L-wall combinations, but as far as I know (and the reason I quit playing him), this was changed and survivors didn't see their vaulting speed affected anymore.
Forgive me if I'm wrong about this last thing, but I haven't played him since. Was it reverted? Intoxication affects vaulting speed today?

i don’t know why Clown gets a bad rap. He just requires a lot of pratice and a lot of cunning. Clever combinations of his add-ons can make him devastating. You’ve got to get good at “trapping” in real time during a chase, AND get good at accuracy to take advantage of the slightly better hinderance and action interupt, or to have any success with Redheads Pinky Finger.
We don’t see many Clowns because he’s difficult to master, which makes people jump online saying he’s not very good, leading players reading such posts to not purchase the Curtain Call chapter, or just not bother with him if they do have the DLC.
Do you have some examples of effective builds?
I'm thinking maybe I'll give him a try again.

In my case it was Huntress and LF switching places...

Maybe because people can *almost* outrun his bottles.

I don't see any pallets

The new map has tons of pallets, especially around the temple that are basically lined up to help you in a chase.
That's great, go there. That way I'll break them all in a single chase with my pallet-for-snacks build.
😎

@Coriander said:
Some maps, like Shelter Woods and the new one, seem to have very few pallets. There are plenty of spaces where it seems like a pallet should be, perfectly positioned to have one between them, but large empty spaces where there are only a few trees/rocks (or ruins in the new map) that you can only last so long in a chase. I'm not that good at running forever, and with Scratch Marks, Bloodlust, and the fact that killers move faster than me, it can be difficult. Guess I'll have to keep practicing and "git gud."
The problem is you're getting there *after* they were already broken

Yes, ignore what anyone else says otherwise.
Countless times people would say so and so cant be in the game for "reasons" but as long as the entity can grab the person or thing within a certain period of time it's fair game.
Here's an example of people who keep arguing that Chucky cant be in DBD.
Their arguement- He's too small, Can't lift survivors on the hook, cant see him on the maps running around, wouldnt be a fair fight in pallet chases.
My arguement back- Chucky can work because if any if these people actually watched the movies you'd realize that Charles Lee Ray was on the verge of death and chanted one of his black magic spells which allowed him to transfer his soul to the good guy doll.
During this moment this would be the perfect time for the entity to snatch Charles because it feeds off hope so Charles last chance to continue living is him putting his soul into the doll.
Him transferring his soul itself would essentially make him weaker/susceptible to being overwhelmed by the entitys power and dragged into the entity's world/realm.
*Therefore we can now have Chucky in DBD as his human form but able to use his Good Guy doll as some sort of assistance in the game , kind of like the pigs RBT.
*Another point as to how this can work is because literally bill died in the L4D2 campaign and was literally snatched while he was in limbo and lives partially in the DBD realm.
So my point is as long as you can prove and logically make a killer appear in the DBD realm anyone is game.
I didn't know that about Chucky, never watched the films and always (ignorantly) thought of him as silly. But now it all makes sense to me. And your idea is good, I would back it.
And yet, suckers like Legion make it into the game.

I see what you did there.
I'm literally laughing my ass off.

Or:
Enduring, Spirit Fury, Chainsaw killer
But most importantly: Don't fall for cartoony chases! Fake you're going after 1 guy, switch targets, come back for the first guy and catch him with his pants down in other area.
And when all that fails:

Thanks for your replies guys.
Yeah thinking about it lore-wise, it would be hard to justify the presence of DEATH (the force) itself in DbD.
At most, the Entity would recruit a human and dress him up like the ancient and traditional physical manifestation of Death. Like @TAG already said. And even that would be only for the Entity's shits and giggles.
BTW where did you come up with those names? They are really cool LOL
-
For those who still care:
How about making Brutality, Deviousness, Hunter and Sacrifice points have 50% weight on gaining/losing pips, and let the emblems get the other 50%? Yeah yeah I know some of them overlap already, but still.
Some killers get kicked in the nuts by the chaser emblem, while even maxing their deviousness for using their power optimally.

I was *this* close to basement hook all four identically-dressed-obvious SWF- Feng Mins once.
Last Feng DC'ed when I was about to pick her up.
I missed that perfect picture. Maybe forever...
