  • Try this build:

BBQ, Agitation, Sloppy Butcher, Monitor & Abuse as perks

    J. Myers memorial, Dead Rabbit as add-ons

You'll have a really small terror radius in EW tier II and NOT in a chase, so make sure you're always looking for good angles when approaching gens. You can surprise a lot of people and get quick hits.

    J. Myers memorial will let you stalk a lot faster and always 99% your power until you're piggybacking someone 😈

Don't engage in any cartoony chases, since that's Myers' main weakness. Feed your EW and catch someone else with their pants down.

At times I even take BBQ to make room for Make Your Choice. Myers is a beast on most maps when played right.

  • THIS!

This is the scroll of truth man! This should be the "Welcome" image in the main page of the forum. And add: "Please do not start threads about these topics"

So basically "jUsT CleaNsE aLL thE toTeMs"

Now tell me how do you do it if you are getting chased all game and you are playing solo?

If they truely pop 5 gens while the killer's on you, means you're really good at chases.

Win the last chase too and escape, both doors and hatch should be available fast for such an efficient team.

Camping has been hated in pretty much every multiplayer game ever made.

It's no less cheap in DBD than it is in Call of Duty or any othee game.

Infinite respawning in CoD and similar games allow the 6yo playerbase to run around like headless chicken emptying magazines with little or no consequence. Why is *that* the acceptable and promoted playstyle, is something I don't understand. That is not simulating combat at all. At least not in a logical, tactical or strategic manner.

If you play or watch matches of R6 or any other semi-realistic shooter as an example, you'll see a great difference. People running around like idiots go down like flies, while defenders must "camp" certain angles, doors, windows, etc to protect their objective. Obviously, if they cover some hatch for too long, they risk a breach somewhere else.

A well designed shooter won't have any completely safe spaces where someone will just camp for the whole match without being punished, be that getting injured or killed, getting his teammates injured or killed too, or failing the objective.

Good game design is the key for a dynamic playstyle, IMO. And while camping may be a legit strategy under certain circumstances in DbD, it's also a highly punishable and risky one, both during the match and after it, in the score screen.

  • I'm with OP.

If gen rushing wasn't a legit strategy, there would be several built-in locks to prevent it.

If clicky clicky teabaggy teabaggy wasn't thought as a valid taunt, in game mechanics would not allow it.

If looping wasn't intended, hitboxes would be the same for killers and survivors.

If camping wasn't at least viable and designers didn't want any kind of play around hooks, either an impassable barrier (for the killer) would form around the hooked survivor, or the survivor would just respawn after some time in other location.

If tunneling wasn't a valid tactic under certain circumstances, survivors would have built in invulnerability for a longer time.

If urban evading wasn't legit, Urban Evasion simply wouldn't exist. Claudette wouldn't exist either.

The same can be said about hiding in lockers, bodyblocking (the non-bannable version), taking hits for your teammates, blocking hooks, 99% hook sabo, etc

Items, insta healing, keys, flashlights, moris, iridescent addons, etc. All are GAME.

If it's in the game today, it's VALID today. There are only a few things that are considered exploits, griefing, and are bannable offenses. Everything else is game.

The devs make the rules of the game. You decide to play it. Its only mode is PVP, where one side's objective is to butcher the other one, that tries to escape and prevent being butchered. It's not a game about tag, or merry-go-round. Every activity with two sides pitted against each other, will feature each side doing whatever within the rules that brings them closer to achieve victory.

Your idea of fun is only that: yours. No one should be forced to accept it, or conform to it.

And if all this is too much, there are hundreds of great single player games out there.

  • No. It's a legit tactic.

Hey all you colorblind folks! I was just digging through the Dead by Daylight Reddit when I found this post:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/7sq8wp/omg_is_this_what_you_killers_have_had_this_whole/

Apparently if you're on PC a program called Vision can help you? Might be worth a look, eh?

Thanks a lot, I'm sure people on PC should try it at least and see if it helps.

Sadly there's also a bunch of us on console, where this kind of options are unavailable.

This isn't a bad idea if we change other things about DS such as decreasing the timer to 30 seconds and increasing the stun time to 3/3.5/4 seconds. Besides, BT does the same thing so what gives?

I wouldn't agree. I was even suggesting it shouldn't proc at all if you hook someone else during the timer.

If you want it to work all game long like BT, which is already powerful enough, make the timer match the 15 secs of that perk.

  • It was already my least favorite map.

But yes, now it's almost impossible to track gens and all other auras.

    Hopefully they fix it soon.

  • Why stop at twice, make it work every time you're downed!

    C'mon guys.

Get used to your new DS, as killers got used to new BBQ. Not as strong, still works for something.

    Or equip new perks.

    Or learn some jukes

  • @IamFran said:

And locker heaven too. Is there a map with more lockers? There are even a zone with about 6 lockers together.

Only good for the huntress as killer.

Yes and no. You can't throw over any of the loops. At least there are a couple of areas where you find open space...

  • And on top of it, hooks are scarce and too far away from each other

  • Lmao yes it's insane. I ate at least 15 pallets bc my Spirit fury was activated 5 times in my last match there. Enduring, SF, BS Trapper BTW

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

Has this issue been resolved yet?

At around 2.4 with the engine upgrade, gen, hook, totem, trap and dying state survivors auras had an increase in brightness that at least helped me find them. But that's only me. There are several other players that didn't experience any improvement.

Now they brought down brightness of said auras in some maps, making it just unbearable to play killer (ORMOND I'm looking at you).

Very good point, but DS can be abused by SWF or hook diving. Enduring should affect the DS stun but the current under a sec stun is tbh not fair.

*I know its not good counterplay but DS does have a timer, slugging people in that scenario could have been wise if there is an obs in the game. These are all my 2 cents, Im happy though that I have been getting a lot of feedback from both sides!

Yes almost certainly they were SWF hook divers in those scenarios I described.

Either your suggestion about Enduring not having such a hard effect on DS, maybe just alleviating it,

Or my suggestion about DS not proceeding if someone else has been hooked in those 60 secs,

Those are two reasonable options the devs could consider.

But making enduring not work at all, or lenghtening the stun timer, IMO are not the best suggestions.

  • @HighQualityDonut said:

DS sucks to deal with, i agree. For the longest time, I ran a double exhaustion build instead of running DS purely bc of how unbalanced DS is (Dead Hard and Balanced landing, devs reduce pallets? just abuse the environment lol) but new DS is really interesting in that the only time you will get a DS off now is if the killer decides to try and rehook you right after you get off the hook.

Enduring makes the perk a gamble to use, although it was a gamble already in the first place to use since whether or not you use the perk is completely up to the killers targeting. If you are lucky/unlucky for the killer to go for you again in that 60 sec grace period, you should be allowed to get a smidge of distance when DS'ing him, instead of the current "u stabbed me and i recovered before u hit the ground lol"

I try to play around my teammates (despite the legion chapter lowkey being a mess, I fell IN LOVE with Aftercare. Being able to give my location to teammates is huge, plus I can see which teammates actually use that information to be efficient) but sometimes you just gotta look out for yourself. If DS is going to be an anti tunnel perk, then at least let it do its job. Enduring needs to not affect DS, or DS stun needs to be 4 secs to match the old DS (which I don't like cause it punishes non-Enduring users)

All you guys are thinking is to punish the tunneling killers, but yesterday I got hit with two DS in the same scenario:

Surv 1 is hooked, surv 2 saves her,

    I chase and 2-hit surv 2,

surv 2 is hooked, surv 3 saves him,

I chase and hit surv 3, BUT mid-chase I run into Surv 1, who hasn't healed or hid, or ran away. Obviously I down her, and eat DS immediately after. All this happened in less than 60 seconds obviously.

No enduring equipped, surv 1 gets away, surv 3 gets away too. Punished for no reason, or at most, punished for capitalizing on the other players' mistakes. Really made me think about equipping enduring on all my killers now.

If you all are going to ask for enduring not to work on the stun timer, then make new DS not proc if someone else has been hooked during those 60 seconds.

You never knew if you were hidden from BBQ half the time due to the fact hitboxes are bigger than you think and the generator protection is ???.

It was a ######### counter against BBQ with so much known, the only time you could guarantee it was when you could hide directly behind the gen as the hook was directly ahead.

Due to that killers used it as an excuse to camp.

You're talking about 1 counter against BBQ. There were around 4 or 5 at the time, now we have specific perks working against it and giving you an edge (Distortion), they made lockers hide your aura too, etc. You're all trying to eliminate the only perk-form counter new DS has?

And I'm not talking about camping, I'm talking about perks that were once deemed too powerful get downgraded to the point of being half useful, or situational at best, and the playerbase has to adapt.

    Its the same on PC.

Literally yesterday I chased a nea and aimed for her, but missed. First I thought I got auto-aimed into the wall as usual, but then an injured sound appeared and a P3 sprinted out of the dark....

    Talk about jumpscares...

Seriously they need to do something about this

  • @Carpemortum said:

I've only seen maybe 3. Which is weird on console, because youd assume it's more work to setup an auto swing on console, than it is to actually play the game.

Ofc, one was faking it as hillbilly w noed. THAT was fun to watch.

Really? People have too much time...

  • Both perks work as intended and take up 1 slot in the loadout screen. If you think it's not powerful enough, equip another perk like small game. Get rid of that dreadful NOED before it procs, so we don't have to put up with 100 weekly threads about it.

Even if enduring works on the stun timer, the killer is still getting stunned, the survivor still drops from the killer's shoulder and the chase is lenghtened. You guys have to understand it's not a no-skill free escape anymore. It's a chance at a escape, only. And it is really strong in the endgame, and still punishes non-tunneling killers in certain scenarios anyway.

When killer meta perks get gutted (BBQ), everyone makes a choice. Either equip it, knowing it's inferior to the previous version, or replace it with a more useful perk.

  • @F5arTheB5ard said:

Has anyone else on ps4 noticed how incredibly dark all the maps have gotten. I was chasing a David on the game, downstairs and he literally tucked into a corner and I walked right past him. If the chase music didnt pop I would of had no clue where he went lol

Good luck on finding Claudette and Tapp when chasing them down to the "House of Pain" basement in either Springwood or Haddonfield.

It's also ridiculously easy for almost any character to disappear in the Game's 1F, a Claudette hid into a locker literally in front of me and I saw nothing. I only knew because of the sound she made.

  • Such a topic.

Gamewise, I don't care too much about any survivor's appearance. As long as they have the same hitbox, I don't have to worry. They all walk and run at the same speed, anyway. And since I play mostly killer, they all hang in the hook the same way to me.

Now on another note, having people from different backgrounds and lifestyles represented in media (games in this case), will always bring acceptance and attention from those feeling they're being represented, and it is the general trend in this time. I sure welcomed the addition of Jeff "the metalhead" Johansen, for that exact reason.

Now in a more serious tone, being overweight or obese is really not a matter of opinion, acceptance, or attractiveness. It is a matter concerning health. And a matter of public health in a larger scale.

In societies where the obesity rate for adults is over 30%, it is normal and expected, to have a lot of people defending that condition or trying to gain acceptance. But the long term impact on each individual's health and later on the public health system goes beyond any opinion. And those are facts that are being measured every day and are out there for anyone to read.

If fat shaming is a term, fact shaming should be one too, by the same criteria.

  • If you think insults validate whatever you're trying to communicate, you're wrong.

Sometimes, though sometimes not. You have to realize a lot of people who hurt people are hurt themselves. It's the thought of spreading good. If you spread bad, bad stuff will spread. If you spread good, good stuff will spread. It's all about how you want to approach the matter.

In real life, your arguments make a lot of sense and are respectable. Hopefully more people thought that way.

In this videogame about people chainsawing others, slashing with machetes and cleavers, hanging in rusty meat hooks and eating each others' guts, I'd say let the bully learn the hard way.

In that phrasing, you would respond to a poke of the eye with a poke to their eye, not poking your own eyes.

My english is not perfect, sorry.

What I meant is the usual offender gets a taste of his own medicine, by the actions of others. And then stops offending.

A bully stops when someone beats his ass, or gets punished.

  • Not exactly. Normally, when an eye-gouger gets his own eye gouged, he stops eye-gouging others.

  • PS4 still features the same turd flinging I've experienced since the beginning.

When you have to delete conversations started by other players just to make room for the messages you get from your real friends, I'd say we have a problem.

  • Don't give a damn and problem solved

    Play for fun

    Play for BPs

If you're a killer, play for kills

If you're a survivor, play to survive

If you're SWF, play so your friends can survive too

They don't give peanuts nor cookies at R1 anyway

  • No. It's perfectly valid in all circumstances.

The ONLY toxic version, which actually is bannable, is bodyblocking as a killer and NOT hitting the survivor, thus trapping him for an indefinite time with no option of escape.

The survivor version is exactly the same, blocking a teammate in a place where he can't move at all.

Everything else is valid. Blocking hooks, taking hits for your teammates, block stairwells to trap people in the basement with the intent of hitting them, block doorframes or windows to prevent escapes, etc.

  • This. Chase music blasting, and that audio cue when "finding" survivors, prevent killers from hearing footsteps and breathing correctly.

  • I think it's fine. It works even in cases unfair for the killer:

Today in a match: Hooked Claudette 1. Adam saves her, I go after Adam, put 2 hits on him, hook him. Claudette 2 saves him and while chasing her, I run into a healing Claudette 1. Downed her, and I eat DS.

I guess I picked her up in the 59th second.

There's no way I should be stunned any longer. Why should I?

  • Equip Small Game instead. It's way more useful.

  • Nope. Survivors already have 3 lives and new DS gives them an extra one in an unfortunate case.

It's even a real strong endgame perk, almost guaranteeing a free escape in certain scenarios.

  • Yeah but my boy Bubba also suffered. And there's no light for him.

  • Yes it's the most colorblind unfriendly forum I've seen :(

And BTW Ormond resort got reworked or something. Can't see anything of the important stuff, as a killer.

Impossible to see auras of gens, no hooks, no totems

  • Yeah well, meanwhile let's see if Not Queen can give us a time frame for your specific question.

  • And it's been almost a year since they gutted Tinkerer. Right before Kate/Clown if I remember correctly.

At least they should change the name of the perk. It has nothing to do with tinkering.

  • It's like Item #348 on the list.

Give'em a break. I guess the year roadmap put a lot of pressure on them and they've been pushing so much content out that they just have a truckload of issues now.

Personally I'd prefer no more new characters until they fix all the bugs, get Freddy (and possibly Legion) reworked, fix the endgame, etc. But they need all the money from the DLCs, so...

If they released a "season pass" complete with daily, weekly, monthly rituals, and obviously all the rewards, they could possibly allocate resources to all those areas that are clearly lacking now.

  • Just add a timer and that's it. No need for surrendering or suiciding. Or bring NOED and make them pay for not leaving ASAP

  • If there's a single dull totem left on the map by the time the exit gates are powered, NOED comes into effect.

IMO it's fine as it is now, and I wouldn't touch the Haste effect, which makes it a real strong perk. Survivors not recognizing totems as secondary objectives is a problem that should be adressed in the tutorial and the description found in-game. Maybe even an official statement from the devs.

And then in every thread talking about gen rushing, where a common argument is "what else are survivors supposed to do?" We all answer "Totems". There you are. Look for them and cleanse them.

I've just grown used to all the BS that goes on in this game lol

Yeah. And sooner or later, it'll be time to move on, too.

  • So that's the idea... Getting rid of all the old and bitter killers... Creating a new killer player base for whom all this stuff is considered "normal gameplay"...

    It all makes sense now...

Seriously though, I really hope no one gets fired. It's a videogame, anyway.

Imagine chasing a survivor with a non-tryhard killer. Survivor kites you from safe pallet to safe pallet. You finally get a hit. You keep chasing. You are about to get another hit and nope, Dead Hard. Darn. You burn through a couple more pallets, get pooped around a couple T walls, what fun. You’re about to finally down this bastard and oops... gens are done, Adrenaline pops. Survivor sprints away fully healed. Darn!

You catch back up. By now your chase has removed most pallets on the map. You get a hit in. Nice. You’re about to get another hit in... nah, survivor has some bullshyte perk that is OP as fawk and your hit bounces off.

Survivor runs to open exit gate, you chase, turn corner to see all four survivors butt dancing. Irate, you uninstall the game. Hours later your rage sours into depression. You take up drinking. Eventually not even the smooth warmth of quality liquor can ease your pain. You graduate to hard drugs. Weeks later you wake up in a dumpster behind a TGI Friday’s where you’ve been sucking **** on Tuesday nights to get enough money for another score.

One night a John decides hes not going to pay and laughs at you. His laughter hurts, but it doesn’t hurt as much as beating you’ll receive from Qwyrone if you turn a free trick. You give chase. Suddenly you’re the killer. This person doesn’t have any BS perks or abilities. You catch him and smash his head into 13 pieces.

You die of gonorrhea in prison.

    That escalated quickly.

@Warlock_2020 Well I used to care about ranking for a long, long time, going out of my way to reach R1 every month on both sides. Then I realized I don't even get a virtual cookie.

And now this. Time to stop caring, at least for me.

    Let's all have fun

  • @thesuicidefox said:

The problem is the new pip conditions. Requiring that many points to pip basically means you have to play perfect AND survivors do too. If survivors are potatoes and you don't get enough Chaser/Devout then you can't pip even if you body them.

It's just as bad for survivors. If the killer is bad then you can't pip because you don't have enough opportunities to get emblem points. You need to do 3 gens by yourself for iri Lightbringer, which almost never happens. If killer camps you can't get Benevolence.

Red ranks will be a ghost town because nobody will be able to get there.

And I think it's exactly what they're shooting at, one huge fat pool of players stuck on the 5 - 12 ranks every month, so even if there are proportionally fewer killers, survivors will still be able to get faster lobbies than before.

  • @Warlock_2020 yeah I know. But if it's flawed or badly designed, I think there's no point on being brought down about it. What would ranking up in a broken system mean, anyway?

As long as I can keep getting matches and killing 2 - 4 survivors each time, I'm having fun.

Or I'm trying to stay positive, I don't know :/
