It shouldn't be random that a survivor can spawn next to my hex as well. lool,
No doubts,

depends on the survivors reaction to it. you can get a so called balanced game tunneling and camping or you can "play fair" and lose a ton. Take what you can get and enjoy the salt.
game is tilted. it was unbalanced but it's wrecked for now. Can't wait for another pretty similar game coming out soon. Sick of this careless crap.
Yes, but why chase higher MMR games?

So you agree with me then it sounds like, otherwise why are you hesitant? is it because idk it's weak as #########? lol
I think they are against SWFS, not so much in Selfish q.
But, yes, hexes have always been RNG reliant

Whats the high reward; being cleansed in two seconds now; why survivors hexs cant be destroyed ;;
They will be nerfed into the ground in 6 months, after BE gets their money.

No, it's high risk, high loss chance tbh. Play it in high ranks and come back
I don't run hexes, to much rng involved, unless it haunted.

High risk, high reward, right?

Thing is, I'm not even talking about the survivor experience. When I play killer and I slug it's to wait out DS or whatever and it's boring AF. I cannot imagine doing it for LOLs when the survivor is right next to a hook, there's no chance for DS, and just hooking the survivor kills them. Just standing there for a minute or whatever staring at the ground and puking on them. I just don't get it from a killer standpoint(working under the assumption there is no DS, no chance of escape, whatever).
In this case, I would say you found a salty player that just wants to be a dick.
-
I think this is BS, just went against a SWF that was using them
-
I think it may have to do with the experience level of the killer.
For newer Killers, it is indeed fun and important to get 4ks.
For those of us that have 4kd countless times and dabble in survivor enough to know how unfun it feels, probably not so much anymore.
-
@Thrax said:
there is little reason to not tunnel anymore. i don't find it fun. let the player count sink like the first 3 swamp castles.
I'd argue there is little reason to tunnel anymore. To get a higher MMR?
And hence, tougher games.
-
Tunneling is good for players whom primarily focus on kills as a win.
Getting 3 v 1 asap, swings the odd significantly in their favor.

Well, I wonder how good I will get with Plague in 6 months...
Yeah, I have been thinking about running her for a bit, myself.
-
Just give it 6 months, and I'm sure it's getting nerfed. They gotta get their money first.

Bubba is fun to play! That's why
Plus, don't have to sweat boons as much with insta downs

''abandon chase meta'' that has only been the only way for a killer not to lose a game. abandon a chase and keep pressure on all 4 survivors. it's not a ''meta''
It's become much more prevalent over the years.
Same as gen rush, just gets stale

That would make sense, if the perk in question was Tinkerer.
Gens are the primary goal of all survivors until there's only one of them left, Thrill of the Hunt exclusively allows side/optional objectives to be protected by its usage, meaning the killer could be dropping a potential hook and gen delay to protect a non-critical aspect of the game.
Which should be okay, it's the killer's prerogative whether they guard the gens or not, however it still remains up to the survivors to complete generators and actually escape.
True . I just believe they wanted boons in play, and killers would have just ran old thrill and few would have bothered to run boons and focused on the gen rush.
Now, people will try boons, at least for a bit. Instead of a constant battle just to try and light a boon in a match without getting chased off

Weird direction to take game balance in considering they're also simultaneously buffing the Survivor's ability to hide almost everything they do from the Killer in multiple ways without any strength reductions to compensate their buffs AND the fact that without those location perks many lower tier Killers are significantly less of a threat than they already are. Do you really think they want Killers to just wander aimlessly hoping to encounter the Survivor's without reliable sounds or scratch marks to go off? I doubt even they'd go that far.
This is probably just the devs playing it safe like usual, since they didn't want Boon Totems to be immediately discovered by the Loud Noise notifications. Now that doesn't excuse or justify the developer's actions here, I'm just supposing that they're being wary about new mechanics and it's likely not them actively looking for ways to nerf Killer perks.
Is your first post in response to me?
I am honored.
Certainly a good point, but I do think the devs want chases and not the stale meta of hit and run and get notified of where everyone is.
I believe they thought boons would give killers a reason to leave hooks and have survivors do totems, slowing gen rush.
But, of course, theory and application are two different things.

It's hardly free if you bring a perk for it. It costs you a perk slot for a perk of variable value. When something costs you, it's the definition of not free.
I think you took Free to literally.
How about, with minimal effort.
-
I think they are trying to get away from the abandon chase meta through perk notifications.
I. E. Tinkerer.
Make killers actually work to find survivors and win chases instead of free alerts.

-
Yeah, but that is not new. New survivor released, no killer released, a lot of people are playing survivor now.
There may be a few killers sitting out in protest as well, Boon totems are not popular

depends on how the rest of the match goes
Considering you can usually tunnel one out and get another, before gens are done, I'd say MMR goes up.

Haha, just have a Wraith tunneled a Mika with 4000 BP. Since many plays Mika now, a new character with not many perks. Its super easy to tunnel off them for easy kill. Easy increase mmr to max for that Wraith.
And after 2 weeks when people back to their main, we will see who will cry.
Yes, exactly. IDK why with MMR one would want to tunnel.

If killer tunnel me out as soon as possible, Im more happy now that he will face hardcore survivors next match. While my next match is chill
Before mmr its sad to get tunneled out because there is no guarantee that the next killer isnt a try hard.
That is a good point. If you want to tunnel, then have fun with the bully squads
-
I don't play Slinger much, last time I did I got hit by a Head On squad, kinda ruined the experience for me.
-
Not even on twitter, although my MySpace account is blowing up!
-
They give me 400k in Bloodpoints in codes, and I have to spend 900k to get one of the two perks I want. And still only have tier 1 Kindred, that bothers me.

Super condensed version: An NFT is like a digital receipt that says you own a JPEG, without any actual enforcement of that ownership, and the system that generates that receipt uses more energy than some small countries + is doing serious harm to the environment. They're a scam, and they're unjustifiable for legitimate businesses to associate with.

I don't have a massive issue with Dead Hard tbh. I kind of see it the same way that I see other exhaustion perks, it'll give you that boost but then it's not going to help you for the rest of the chase.
Dead Hard basically allows you to be greedy, it lets you get another loop around a pallet for example - it's not a mistake when survivors do this, it's intentional, they know they have Dead Hard so they know they can make the loop before dropping that pallet, or make the window.
I still think Sprint Burst is a stronger exhaustion perk, but I feel that Dead Hard is more frustrating for some players to play against.
I think the problem with DH, like other perks or gen speeds , is in the hands of top tier players, it can be game changing. Sure, your average player may get another few seconds out of it, but for others, getting to that pallet or window could be another minute or two.

Ok so I’m going to confess that as of late I’ve been crutching on Dead Hard. Please don’t nerf it now lol.
I actually have done the opposite and recently left it behind. I agree, it can be a strong perk and allows you to greed more and play injured with less fear.
IDK if it's OP or not, but on god tier loopers it probably is.

Given the way MMR works, the devs are clearly intended on rewarding selfish survivors who do gens and leave their teammates rather than a team effort to get everyone to escape.
It sucks for what it is, but MMR rewards killers for camping and MMR rewards survivors for leaving others for dead.
Yes, so true.
I guess in theory, if everyone stopped worrying about their MMR and played more for team fun, then survivors could go for saves, die , lowering their MMR and increase the killer's MMR giving them competitors that really want to sweat and leave a teammate behind in a 6 minute game.
Sounds just, I guess.
-
I totally agree that it is quite effective. I know, everyone says, just do gens, but unless you only care about escaping yourself, it is hard to do.
Why? Because we are on a team, and I want to attempt to get you before second stage, so you have at least a chance of hitting DS, if you don't run it, well you were going to second stage anyway.
I hate when teammates leave me to die on hook because of camping, I run DS, just get me off.
So, why I don't like it, I understand why people do it. But, it's the same for the killer, you must only care about the kills and not the game.
I am much more of a journey person than a destination person. If I die or only get 1k, it's more important how I got there, than just getting there.
But, at the same time, I understand others are about the destination.
-
My survivor build is the info build, I prefer, Kindred, Bond, Windows, and DS for a bit of self preservation.
My killer build, I have been learning trapper , I run Starstruck, Agitation, Haunted and MYC on Trapper.
Try to get someone in the basement and have fun!!!
-
I actually run into the opposite. Rarely do I see Bubba's facecamp unless down to one genny. Most of the Bubbas I face, actually do pretty well, know how to use their saw and actively pressure gens. Bamboozle and BBQ Pop Bubbas are what I see mostly.
-
Finally the Windows Buff is coming!!!

That the choice you make knowing its not the optimal play. So you are risking an easy win for enjoyement out of the match nothing wrong with that. Honestly a player should not complain about other choice of perk. Like you said maybe he was counting on the other guy having DS so he took a chance.
On a personal note most of the time i had more out of self care compare to all the other perk in the survivor arsenal only because after my gen i dont need to waste time looking for someone else i can just self care right there or go for an end game unhook when only 2 people are alive
Certainly is an individual choice. I'm a big proponent of playing how and what you like, and letting others do the same.
-
@botrax said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2567014#Comment_2567014
If the killer is camping what are you doing going for the unhook instead of doing gen. Again this is a survivor issue not a perk issue or killer issue but mostly the inability to the survivor to do the correct play.
Because we are playing survivor. And, getting the guy off before second is the team play. Sure, if all you care about is getting yourself out, then pound gens.
But, unfortunately, I care about the enjoyment of my teammates and competition. So, once again, saving before second gives them a shot at hitting DS. If not, then same result, they go to second.

Depends, I don’t stick to a consistent build, but yes I have been lately. I don’t WANT to use it though, which is why I’d prefer having BT.
I prefer DS to BT. It's a perk I bring for this reason, not one I expect others to bring.
DS is superior to BT IMO.
-
@Lynxx said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2567006#Comment_2567006
Of course not, because most survivors don't take responsibility for their own survival.
Right, I traded my BT long ago for kindred, don't need BT if you know where the killer is, and l agree, run DS if you want to assure your second chance.
-
@botrax said:
My question what kind of stupid survivor unhook in front of the killer with no BT. This is not a self care issue but mostly a survivor who believe in the survivor rule book
Or, getting a save before they go to second against a camping killer in hope they get a shot at DS instead of hitting second stage.
-
Do you run DS.
-
It is the ultimate compliment a killer can pay you. The face camp after a long chase.
It's an acknowledgement of how much of a thumb in the ass you were during the game.
And bonus, no raise in your MMR.
Congrats!

Lil bit of both. DBD is the least scary 'horror game' around, and if anyone's truly scared of the other side or their loadouts they should probably drink less caffeine and stop taking it so seriously - but also, no really, the only people who need to crow about how un-scared they are are the biggest scaredy cats around (on the inside) :P If you took it personally, oh well, my bad.
No sweat, I see your point.
I don't necessarily think it is 100 percent accurate for all of us.
But, it is a valid point, one I will keep in mind when I post. I think it's the Marine Veteran in me to come off a bit intense at times. And from that perspective, I can promise you, this game is the least scary thing I know of.

Fun little hyperbole is just good framing, friend.
I don't know what you mean.
You think I'm really scared or I am missing sarcasm as I am prone to do?
-
I don't fear anything, I'm the ######### killer.
The moment I'm scared of a lobby is the moment I become a survivor main.
