here's what frustrates me even more.
I just played a bubba game against total potatoes who ran into my chainsaw repeatedly.
and then the game crashed for no reason.

I don't know why but that made me laugh harder than it should have

Today's been really odd, my survivor games have been far superior than the norm with teammates that have functional frontal lobes as opposed to sandbaggers or immersed troglodytes that never touch a generator, and my killer games have been way easier than what I'm used to. 4K'd every match except the ones that I let purposefully leave.
Very strange.

While i agree that the notification removal was unneeded people are underselling the buff it got quiet a bit.
28 uninterrupted seconds to cleanse a single totem is a lot of time. Especially vs killers like doctor or perks like infectious fright that can interrupt the cleansing action without being there
Cleansing a totem only takes 14 seconds, 21 with thrill (assuming no dull or hex totems have been cleansed already).
A single chase lasts about that long assuming the survivor isn't bad or the killer isn't godly.

Hex totems take longer to bless and I did say hex totems and even then 36s on a normal totem is an amazing time waster hex thrill was buffed so now you don't need to defend your totems survivors are shooting themselves in the foot if their if their doing anything with totems while thrill is up
36 seconds on a regular totem is not feasible, even with two Thrill perks stacked on top of each other. It takes 14 seconds to cleanse a hex totem, with TotH it becomes 21 seconds (after the increase to 50%). Basically a quarter of a gen, which is almost negligible considering the fact that about two survivors can be on a generator without worry, since one can be chased/hooked and the other will easily cleanse a totem before a chase is over, then potentially go for a rescue.
The issue isn't having a hex turned into a boon, it's that your hexes are easily dispatched with no chance of preventing it aside from dumb luck.

Unfortunately, a survivor can also just spawn right in front of your lit Thrill and get rid of it forever. All your numbers mean very little when the value is not guaranteed.
Great you mention that, literally had a Haddonfield game where I walked up to an afk survivor that spawned right in front of my Devour Hope

The time it takes to bless a hex with thrill up is just over half a gen that's amazing value even if only happens once in a game. If they bless two hexes while thrill is up it's one perk that bought you just over one extra gen passivly. If you manage to intrupt them once and they loss all the progress on that blessing it's by far the biggest time waster killers have for survivors.
RIP bless squads v a pinehead who knows how to find his box
Half a gen with no great skill checks, toolboxes, or perks is 40 seconds.
The time needed to bless (not cleanse) a totem, with none cleansed/blessed already and Thrill in use (and no survivor perks at play) is around 36, so less than half a gen.

I think they are trying to get away from the abandon chase meta through perk notifications.
I. E. Tinkerer.
Make killers actually work to find survivors and win chases instead of free alerts.
That would make sense, if the perk in question was Tinkerer.
Gens are the primary goal of all survivors until there's only one of them left, Thrill of the Hunt exclusively allows side/optional objectives to be protected by its usage, meaning the killer could be dropping a potential hook and gen delay to protect a non-critical aspect of the game.
Which should be okay, it's the killer's prerogative whether they guard the gens or not, however it still remains up to the survivors to complete generators and actually escape.
