Spirit and Blight, original characters that are Hella viable
-
They will eventually remove the scream and blood, I believe

Then if it was designed to be a casual party game why are we forced to play in a competitive way?
We aren't. We could easily play more casual and not sweat the results.
Many just prefer to get 4 out or 4k as a win.
-
Second objective....um...let's see.
I know, save teammates, heal teammates, waste the killer's time running around things, cleanse hex totems.
Or maybe, Sabo some hooks, take hits for teammates, open chests, pallet saves...
I don't know. If we could only think of one more thing survivors could be doing.
-
The game is designed to be a casual party game.
It was us , you,, me, the Royal We, that turned this game into , well less than casual.
And quite possibly, started at the first teabag.
-
SWF is not going anywhere. If you have a problem with it , find a different game.
NOT to mention, without SWF, what do you think would happen to kill rates?
That's right, they would rise, and actually lead to killer nerfs.
No, let the swfs play and raise their MMR and play the sweaty ass killers.
-
I have never been one to subscribe to the belief, that a particular character, chosen to be played by a large and diverse player base in any way correlates to playstyle.

A fair point, but "optimally" isn't exactly hard in NOED's case. Literally all you have to do is open the exit gates and leave as soon as you see NOED activate, unless you're the unlucky SOB who gets hit with it. I do empathise with that being unfun for the person who gets hit, so the only change I'd support is NOED announcing itself as soon as it activates, that seems fair.
Not to say that you should be too harshly criticised for not leaving the trial, but if you're choosing to potentially give the perk value by playing into it then I really don't think it's fair to start complaining that the perk is too strong.
I certainly agree, survivors should just leave. I never understood the insistence on trying to get 4 out when you could easily get 3 out.
And I don't mind being left if the others leave.
But, I guess, after so long on the game, and so many escapes, the fun for some may be in the challenge of saving the one even if it turns into a 4k.
But, yes, if you choose to do this, then you shouldn't complain.
-
@jesterkind said:
Yes. It's moderately powerful IF survivors haven't done bones (not likely, in fairness) and IF they choose to risk giving it value by going for a save or lingering in the trial, you trade out a perk slot until the end game, and survivors can deactivate it after it's spawned if they choose to take that risk.
If survivors play optimally against it, then it's at most a single kill.
Optimally is the key word here.
Have you played solo q in awhile?
Optimally is rarely associated with solo q gameplay.
-
As a stand alone argument, as a perk in a game, Yes.
When factoring in the often unfun playstyles people use when crutching on Noed , I guess, still Yes.
But it's not a healthy perk for the game, nor does it make for fun tactics in the majority of games it is used. And it never feels earned.
-
Yeah, get back in your DeLorean and set the year at 2021.
Hit 88 mph and you'll be back in current DBD in no time!
-
-
Just another example of the Devs Console Bias
-
What are you talking about?
You are losing, so you DC?
Now you are crying about the penalty?
Am I right?
If so , please DC a couple hundred more times so we don't have to deal with this until 2023.
-
I hope not. Last thing Boons need are a buff.
-
I can't do another No Ones Even Dead discussion.
But , I will ask, why care what survivors think of it?

Holy god I just wish "artsy" people would stay away from horror. There's slow burns, then there's literally nothing happening for an hour. "Unsettling atmosphere" is part of the setting, it shouldn't be considered the entire plot for a movie.
Damn, I loved all these movies!

Very comprehensive, since queue times depend on time of day, region and X-Play on/off (alternatively platform if X-Play off).
Btw in eu, X-Play on, at peak hours (8pm and later) killer is instant. Afternoon, 30sec-2 minutes. Morning, no idea i have work and something else to do on the weekend mornings.
Survivor, overall no idea, don't play.
Thanks!

Considering how unhappy killers have been lately. Your lucky to have found a match at all.
My q times as survivor are instant.
HBU?
My killer times actually take a bit.

You should play her again to see the difference. You don’t have to main her just try her out for a few matches.
So true!
She's like a Corvette in the garage waiting on a sunny day.
Guess I should rev her engine a bit!
Will do

Understandable. It can be boring playing the same killer over and over again. That’s why I play a variety of killers.
Me too. I always play a variety, but she was my main one for the longest time.
-
I dropped her, about a year ago. Love Spirit, but after two years of maining her, I got bored. I could almost play her with my eyes closed, lol
-
What about my challenge to save X amount of survivors?
-
If anything, Mikey should be buffed
-
Yes, by getting 0 kills your MMR will go down
-
Yeah, you should fall back a bit if you keep losing

I have been tunneling quite a few Mikaela already. Her new playerbase kind of annoys me. I do not do it BECAUSE she is Mikaela. I do it because a Mikaela happens to be the type of survivor who is asking for it. Lol.
No idea why it is happening otherwise. Maybe to stare at her from behind while you chase?
How do you "ask" to be tunneled?
-
Not anymore.
I did main Spirit for two years and a few killers bookend around her.
But anymore, I just play who I want. Often , now I play 2 solo q games, then a game as killer with the last killer I versed using their build.
-
Sounds like it is time for a break, my friend.
-
Play how you would like to verse, and you are always winning.
I never understand why people become the things that they despise.
And, you can't abuse DS anymore
-
I feel you!
I was saying the same thing last night, after countless offerings were lost trying to play a few games.
I guess that is business tho, we are easily replaced. Obviously they care more about bringing in new players and cash than retaining long term players.
######### business model , IMO.
But, judging from how bad customer service is IRL, it must be the norm nowadays

sure, if that's where your gymnastics brings you, in the thread about figuring out why survivors bm and pointing out to a slight derailment that there's a bigger cause and effect relation with killer bm than survivor bm
i never said i liked it, that it was okay or that anyone was at fault so please avoid strawmanning me, much obliged
I was referencing your statement about how, when a killer does it, you can understand why.
-
Unless he is letting everyone live, he will climb right back up

usually you do something to get whapped on hook by killer, it's a bit more clear-cut there
So, blame the victim mentality?
It's okay because YOU can understand why the killer does it?
-
If you think solo q is easy mode, then your doing killer wrong.
Plus, don't be naive, both sides BM, if you're a BMer, you probably do it regardless of the role you play.
-
Do you remember when many killers said it was fine and didn't need a nerf?

So this is still an option. In fact, I'm sure the devs would first test this among the high skill MMR teams. They might forbid a match under a certain MMR threashold for example, then anyone above that threshold had the scaled decreasing addons and perks based on their individual MMR.
Once the system is tested, it could bleed out into the other MMR's when queue times get too long. Perhaps having a killer with reduced ruin, or using off meta perks because the meta perks are too reduced, would make it more fair for survivor's who have no reduction in abilities.
What do you think of the larger idea though? Pros, cons?
I guess I am most doubtful of BE's ability to code it. But I do think eventually they will adjust something in higher MMR, probably gen speed.
-
Na, let the sweats play with the sweats and the chills play with the chills.
-
What is the effect of the pumpkin 🎃?
-
Majority of my games are tunneling and Noed anyway.
-
I'd say Bubba, but to each their own!

Given that BHVR have confirmed that for a killer, MMR is solely determined by the number of kills they get in a match it's pretty much the definition of a win.
Well, at some point in life, we begin to define things for ourselves.
So, I don't give a ######### about BE or their MMR.
I play for what is fun to me and to my own definitions.
-
I also enjoy their post and insight. I respect those that came before me as well their dedication to the game and forums.
Godspeed my friend, may the best of your DBD games equal the worst of your future games!

I wasn’t around long enough to know what it was like to play with or against those add ons. I’ve seen gameplay though, and it looked miserable as survivor but so fun as killer. It definitely needed a change though.
Oh yes, so fun as killer, quite OP for sure. Miserable as survivor, no doubts, many hook suicides and DCs. I can't tell you how many times I would start a game with a grab and instantly get a DC or two.
Glad to see the Spirit is still out there, haunting "those/us" pesky survivors!
I love going against Spirit, I am sure all the time playing as her makes it fun for me.

I miss Prayer Beads (the interaction we had until the update, not the old broken version), I don't know why they removed it as it wasn't OP or anything, but it was fun to get grabs with it.
I hear, I miss the old ones, not as survivor, but as killer, they were so broken, and fun.
-
I always thought MDR was overkill, probably why I have over 200 of them
But with old prayer beads and discordance, the grabs, oh the grabs, so much fun
You could almost guarantee a grab to start each match.
