If im running a full heal build (WGLF, botany, self care and well make it) then it's a decent perk and makes self care actually really strong. If I don't need bp then I'll swap WGLF for BT. It's a decent build for altruistic survivors.

Self Care isn't affected by WMI though?

Do you? Sorry, must never had someone have it when they save me ( not a commonly seen perk ig)

Yeah it's a good perk I'm surprised so few people run it

  • I like this idea but more importantly

I cannot physically stand the sight of that italic laughing crying emoji, it's disgusting to look at

Sorry, I may not have been clear in my last post.

I run self care because I don't trust other players to be around to heal me, so I would rather run it and get healed then risk no heals from either gen focused survivors (those that will focus a gen with an Injured survivor indicating them they wanted healing ) or aren't around.

In most scenarios, I'd agree that self care is less optimal and takes a lot longer than even a normal heal without well make it, no matter with. But there's 2 issues with this. One, we don't know if you have well make it (we don't know your perks) and two, i have met too many people that can't do basic skill checks. I don't want to risk you giving away my position whilst injured if your not running well make it and they have sloppy or thanat.

And the scenarios I meant were let's say 2 people were on the hook, or one slugged and one hooked. This is where I'd rather them rush to take advantage of the killer only being at one hook at a time.

You get a notification if the person has we'll make it

  • I run a build based around being injured most of the time and I know you won't 99 my heal so I'll do it myself.

  • Stake out like you said but consume a token to vault a window or pallet 5% faster

As a Cheryl main that uses Repressed Alliance I'm kinda offended lol

Same, worst thing is I messed up and repressed a gen instead of committing in a game earlier and it lost us the whole match, hit well close to home :'(

  • Doja Vu so op, buffing already op generators, survivors shiulsmt be able to see gens gens op survivors op nerf suevivoe or I uninstall 😭😫😠

  • My boy Felix isn't there :,(

  • Buff your patience?

It's clearly in the works, as has been said but it's not as simple as changing the value of the mori from 1 to 2. The keys need a complete rework.

Edit: ngl didn't read the post sorry, but I'll leave that there for people who come to rally behind wanting a key nerf

Agree with this response for Cheryl. I main her and have also played with a lot of Cheryls. Cheryls are mostly very competent players who will do anything needed of them, but most seem to do it for selfish reasons i.e. points, stacks, etc. Mostly focus on altruism, don’t really go out of their way to engage the killer but can hold their own when the killer finds them (most times lol)

Ngl as a Cheryl main I have to say that's pretty spot on, this matches other Cheryl's I meet for sure and I'm pretty sure matches me. I'll only go for altruism if the person is nearby otherwise I'll stick to my gen. I wont trek more than 20 seconds to take a hit if I'm not running mom or wglf. Looking at it I play for to help others for selfish reasons, though I guess that how the survivors probably would be in the trials anyway!

Less capable more like more fun because they won't sweat for a 4k and cry when a key is used

Ooh look at you changing focus

Look clearly you dont like killers being better than you so no suprise you get pissy about a Leatherface which requires forethought to play against

  • Lmao why don't we buff your brain cells before you post a nerf x thread

LF is perfectly balanced idk why some people see him as an issue, imo hes a bit weak

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/224401/to-killers-would-using-the-new-ooo-be-toxic

I'm fine with it I only have 1 concern if the killer has nurses and the surivor has self care and ooo could they use that to get free wall hacks mid chase if they lose the killer?

I was thinking this, using OoO against a nurses user would be strong, a lot of cringeslingers use it so it would be very strong keeping eyes on him during chase as he relies on line of sight, wallhacks allow you to easily deny that

  • I had an idea that was similar (but it turns into an obsession perk to introduce new killers to the obsession mechanic).

Every time you down the obsession gain one token up to a maximum of eight tokens, whenever the obsession is hooked the obsession changes (maybe whenever the obsession is unhooked or dies because otherwise NOED may become too obvious, but i don't want it to be furtive chase).

Once the exit gates are powered a remaining dull totem is cursed with this hex. Hitting a survivor with your basic attack causes that survivor to go into the dying state, and consumes a token. Tokens are also used up when hitting injured and hooked survivors. All tokens are lost if the allocated hex totem is cleansed!

The only issue is I have is the obsession transfer without making NOED obvious. It shouldn't have the same effect as furtive chase but that'd be the only way to really disguise it! If the obsession doesn't transfer then it just encourages unhealthy tunneling!

Felix Richter: In my experience, pro Felixes are extremely rare, and not just because of the fact that he's new. His gen-finding perk is built for new players who don't know where the lights should be, and his other perks are extremely general.

Cheryl Mason: Good Cheryls are like what Claudette was actually supposed to be, they play like David but more stealthy and focused on healing. Bad Cheryls read the perk descriptions once and think they know what they should be doing, leaving the obsession immediately after healing them, blocking a gen that the killer is close to, and relying on soul guard for pretty much everything it can be used for.

Elodie: I don't know, she just released.

Tell that to Visionary on the game 😎

Also hi I'm a pro-Felix, well at least I like to think so

    Imo (from common experience)

Felix - Thinks they are better than they are and go for much riskier plays than they should, often getting themselves killed.

  • It's you think that your opinion and retaining you matters more to the devs than the majority retention that they are providing for.

    also this is just stupid

  • This is about as informative as any of Donald Trump's tweets, gonna need more!

Situation, killer or survivor, how many dead and how fast?

  • Depends on effect priority, with code you can't have too many complex rules dealing with one thing so with aura reading activated aura reading its going to depend on whether aura blocking or aura reading take priority in the code, the latter means sole survivor has synergy, the former does not

  • Also watch Oh Tofu play the Twins he does it splendidly

Yui gives me lesbian vibes tbh, Also Felix is the closest one to be an LGBTQ+ character

SEE I thought that but guttingly he has a pregnant wife and there is reference to him being a little boy so unless they're just referencing his unconscious he couldn't be a trans man and he isn't gay, maybe bisexual, but he definitely identifies as a man.

  • THATS WHAT I SAID

Also feeds heavily into the daddy issues thing but that's a stereotype lmao

  • Lol no

I'm not gonna let you run away when you try to mindgame the most unsafe pallet possible

  • I'd like an answer to this, because in all honesty I'd like to run new OoO as distortion on steroids with less chance of having to deal with keeping track of the 3 sec reveal every 30 seconds.

  • It's not 30secs, its 3 secs that occurs every 30 secs

And a dev confirmed only you performing the healing action robs DS (so no healing others or self caring, medkit or otherwise)

  • On every map there are four "corners" even though they aren't always corner, four points of an circle/diamond

The cages spawn in the radius of these points in a set location (at the one as far as possible from PH), I recommend you learn the locations of the cages on each map to make the decision which is smartest on the spot otherwise it's a guessing game, which the killer shouldn't be relying on. I personally save torment for quick moris in most instances anyway, makes snowballing ten times easier

  • Lmao

Killing yourself on hook drops you if you do nothing as is implied by your post and you get more and worse survivors the more you depip, the only thing MMR will do is continually give you bad survivors if you don't try

Ngl you dont sound very good yourself

Deathslinger, especially with monitor and abuse (also dubbed as Stealthslinger).

    *dickslinger

  • I play him anyway he's great!

  • Thematically, for Laurie's character and Halloween's story it makes no sense.

Additionally, as stated in the games description, you can be selfish

"Be a team player... or not" etc etc.

There are perks specifically targeted towards selfish play because that is a supported playstyle, even if everyone in the community looks down on it, also god knows sole survivor has saved my ass, hid me from a blood warden (just walked around the walls, he couldn't see my aura), hid me from the final BBQ, allowed me to heal endgame against Nurses, it's great for skilled survivors (in solo queue) because you know you can't always rely on your team mates, and if I have a space in my build and I think it works out I'll throw in SS, I think in it's current state Sole Survivor needs a buff, not a rework.

  • I'd also like to correct the title

    *lack of killers

  • A shocking amount of achievements in this game are achieved by a max of about 10% of people! And I've done over half the achievements in three months.

I think it honestly comes down to DBDs retention issue, people buy the game but rarely stay due to the atmosphere and how mentally unforgiving brown ranks are for new players!

  • Being robbed of my iri devout emblem, dcing and killing yourself on hook essentially robs us of much needed hooks (I've depipped because three people suicided on hook before, I got four hooks that match and because that made it end so quick I couldn't make it up in other categories)

  • Twins is probably the character I am best at, able to consistently get 4ks without slugging!

Tip 1: Choose one of four ways you want to utilise Victor! Victor is most effective as either, a slugging tool (most common, easy to snowball), a pressure tool (just hearing shrieks is enough for survivors to move away from gens in a bud to avoid Victor (I've done this like twice so results are inconclusive on how effective it is as of yet!), totem defense (amazing, but you have to switch back to Vic before he dies passively every now and then, only really worth it for something like devour, even better with certain addons! Charlotte can also do this but it's a pain having to lug her to wherever your down is, plus that leaves your totem exposed) or as a chase ender (most effective use of Victor, always injure with Charlotte and end chases quickly with Victor).

    Tip 2: Loops

Charlotte should be played like an m1 killer, you're a clown main so you'll understand the way this functions quite well, bring some chase and gen perks and you're set if you're a good player, I don't have a ton of perks yet so I wont recommend a build for you as it certainly won't be the most optimal, oppresion is a god send tho fyi (as it means you can manage multiple gens whilst pressuring normally). Use her to injure (and down if you aren't using Victor as a tool to end chases quickly). If you used Victor to end a previous chase and you don't have him back at a strong loop, leave, there is no point wasting time bringing him over to you, it's just best to move on if the survivor doesn't make an exploitable mistake, you're a completely m1 killer without Victor (think of Clown if you had no bottles, nightmare right, you surely wouldn't chase someone for too long without bottles).

    Tip 3: Zoning

In her dormant state, Charlotte is essentially a breakable wall (unless vaulted into, then she is moved if possible or collision is lost). Survivors can't move her and she can completely shut down amazing loops by positioning well before releasing Vic to finish off the job. (I also find if you wanna play totem defense, just using insidious and looking down is a funny way to trick them, it's like playing the standing still spirit mindgame, if the survivor isn't observant they'll fall for it!).

Victor is also a good zoning tool, survivors, especially injured ones will be incredibly fearful of Victor and will run away (never try to use Vic on a healthy person unless they are about 30 metres away max or you'll get absolutely no value from it!)

    Final tips

I suggest going into a game with a friend and learn best spots to body block loops with Charlotte and figure out angles and distance for jumping through windows and over pallets.

Particularly explore god loops like the fun bus or iron works main building, the saloon is a tough one but there are a couple good spots depending on the survivor.

I hope I could help, I'm not the best but I'm quite handy with the Twins :))

  • Silent Hill is an absolutely timeless series and it will lie on in my heart and many other's hearts for years and years to come, I want more SH content, ######### RE its great and all but SH supremacy for life baby!!!!

  • I personally love the DS change, (there are lots of misconceptions about deactivation but it's not as unfair as people try to make it sound, if someone heals you under hook it doesn't deactivate but the moment YOU perform an action it is deemed you aren't being tunnelled (because you are safe enough to perform that action, you wouldn't start cleansing a totem or self caring in the killers face would you?!).

OoO I feel is a step in the right direction but at this point is essentially Distortion on steroids and doesn't provide a strong enough downside on revealing all killer aura reading unless they have undetectable (even then the perk lights up so anyone with a brain can piece two and two). Plus every 30 seconds you get a free aura read on a detectable killer if you're the obsession (its too hard for the killer to keep track of to be valuable apart from free wallhacks during a chase, but then if the killer is detectable the survivor gets it too), which I rarely get even when I run stuff to increase obsession chances, in fact I get it more when I don't run increased obsession chance perks .

  • Human nature, it's stupid but in the end people think other people's suffering is funny and try to make the other sides life miserable, its a convoluted form of patriotism

  • I mean, sorry some people are good but I don't think their thousands of hours of practice is cheating, in actuality 80% of people in red ranks are swf boosted potatoes ngl and they are absolutely terrible, the others have lots of practice and there is a chance you know what you're gonna do before you do. Of course, there are hackers but there definitely aren't as many as you think!

This post actually made me laugh so thanks. The clickbait-esque title and the s h o c k i n g decleration there are hackers in this game as if absolutely no one knew, then subsequently presenting entirely fabricated statistics estimated off of facts you made up.

  • I mean, the people are still there but as time goes on more people are whining and less people are asking for help, I made a post recently asking for advice and help and all I got was incredibly helpful responses and attitudes (barring learn a better killer which was a bit jarring).

People just don't know where to go in this community for help anymore because of the hostile atmosphere and environment a lot of players and forum posters create, it isn't pleasant and is scary, god knows I wouldn't have known what to do three months ago, it would have taken me way longer to get to grips with the game and be at my current level if someone hadn't taken me under their wing to help me!

"Nah man, most certainly needed because even to the most skilled red rank killers these perks were nightmares, DS hasn't been much of a problem compared to OoO but its abusability needed to be fixed."

Oh sry I mean not only Green but also Red Rank Killer who Tunnel and Camp wanted this... Yes that Sounds better

No there's no tunneling or camping involved, oh suddenly I have to give the survivor a free second chance because I downed the other two remaining pussies in your death squad within 60 seconds?

I don't think so, tunneling is chasing the same survivor consistently through choice! and DS has absolutely no bearing on camping, I won't bring up OoO because that perk has no bearing on either and your clearly just upset you can't abuse a broken perk (DS anymore), shame for you ig

    Low bait

The Nerfs are Not needed and only bad green Rank Killers who Camp and Tunnel the whole time wanted this.

Nah man, most certainly needed because even to the most skilled red rank killers these perks were nightmares, DS hasn't been much of a problem compared to OoO but its abusability needed to be fixed.

OoO was completely broken and bringing one perk shouldn't, absolutely shouldn't be a hard counter to a multitude of killers, in its current state its still way more benificial to the survivor than the killer (i'll go as far to say its less detrimental for the killer but has far more utility for the survivor, its basically distortion on steroids post-change)

  • Yeah common sense dictates that but DS was able to be abused really heavily and if paired with UB (yes im bringing this up idc) it was a literal minute of full invincibility!

Can't say I've ever had a killer slug an entire team at 5 gens in purple ranks tunnel yes but slug no

Because you're landing less capable killers because you purposely derank to stay in purple, seeing as you're "purple by choice"

  • @ILoveDemo said:

    And for you too

That Show that playing survivor make fun. So why make it unfun with tunneling Killer?

no people play survivor because survivors make playing killer unfun, the irony

  • Nice bait

They aren't nerfs its balancing the perks whilst still retaining their core use and effectiveness!

  • Basically makes it a better version of distortion, this means distortion NEEDS a rework because its basically redundant (as its only real use was exposing what aura reading the killer has and allowing you a chance to play against that before they can use it on you), new OoO is distortion with aura reading thrown in if you aren't the obsession, you also get the additional effects if you are the obsession, distortion is now redundant and the downsides of OoO aren't strong enough to use Distortion instead for safety! Even when OoO doesn't show auras because of undetectable you still get the info that they can see your aura at that given time!

It additionally becomes an easy hard counter to IAEars and aura reading addons! It does the same effect as kindred basically with BBQ so you don't have to use Kindred for a perk slot (unless you want coordination value) because most killers use BBQ and you'll see which direction they go!

Additionally with really heavy aura reading builds (or addons like bloody glove and black incense) it'll basically be current OoO and gives more accommodation to the survivor to play around it than it does the killer to play around what the survivor is doing!
