  • I get where this is coming from but ngl in any other light it would sound like a survivors attempt at disguising as a killer to make killers blame themselves 😭😂

  • @VolantConch1719 said:

Considering just how item happy the group I went up against for my Adept Twins was (it's honestly the perk that helped me the most), I would say that Hoarder doesn't directly warn them, but good Survivors could probably pick up on it when they notice the abnormal amount of chests.

Lol, I'm yet to go for my adept (or use hoarder generally) so I'm excited to see how much information I'm going to get from it, especially on a smaller map like Midwich!

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/223626/hoarder-revealing-itself

    No.

Survivors will only pick up on the perk if they’re savvy enough to correlate that you’re quickly appearing anytime a chest or item is touched.

    Oh that's great thankyou!

I'm well excited to try this build now!

  • @AhoyWolf said:

I think it doesn't, not sure tho, literally nobody uses Hoarder.

Yeah, I would test it out with a friend but none of them have been online for a couple days :((

If anyone seeing this has capacity to test it at the moment please do so and feed back here I'd be ever grateful!

  • @Mr_K said:

I would error on the side that it does warn them.

One would think but you never know, some stuff doesn't like Plague's iri addon for the puke aura reveal, which really should at least be shown in the debuffs section!

  • In this match I was Trapper and trying out iri stone.

A nea was taunting me at the door as I was going over (it was 99'd so she knew she'd be fine) but somehow she hadn't clocked earlier into the match I had iri stone on and as I arrived, the disarmed trap had reset itself and as she went to open the door she trapped herself, pure absolute bliss!

    It is an official cosmetic

I'd love to see a 3D modeler give this a look over!

You might like plague, she gets lots if survivor location pings from infected survivors screaming and cleansing. And once you go corrupt you are nearly unstoppable at loops and snowballing. Plus, corrupt intervention and infectious fright are primo perks. (Idk if you meant free as included with base game or free as in purchase with auric shards)

You also got demo who's shred is great on loops unless they have tight geometry, good mobility and player detection with portals. He just can't stealth due to the stomp stomp of his feet

Legion can easily keep all survivors injured and has decent mobility and can find survivors with killer instinct. He just has trouble downing survivors, but a perk or 2 can help with this. Plus, discordance is my favorite perk.

Freddy travels around well, and uses snares to stop loops and locate survivors. Crap perks though

Oni can find injured survivors easy, has great mobility, and can Insta down. But hard to use.

And, unpopular opinion, the twins are good. Find survivors with victors idle screech, can down survs in quick succession, deny loops by leaving Charlotte body to body block a window, etc. And coupe de grace and oppression are fun to use

Charlotte actually can't body block a window whilst dormant (if they vault from the other side, it pushes her model out the way), it body blocks the same side though.

Survivors don't seem to realise this yet though and dropping victor whilst blocking one side of a mindgameable pallet scares 'em off well good.

  • A good blight, a PH, a good Twins, Nurse, Hag, a good Spirit, a really good Oni, a smart smart death slinger, Freddy, Ghostface, a god tier Myers, a god tier Clown (TheClownIsKing is probably one of the few players capable of that though) due to his massive chase potential!

Most killers could if the player was really good with them tbh, but those ones particularly.

The ones who 95% couldn't take on a smart coordinated SWF without addons would be:

Trapper (especially if object is in play, there is no way for the killer to counter it besides tunneling, but they usually make the best looper put it on).

Wraith, the pressure he has basekit by being close to untrackable because he could be cloaked at any given time is completely destroyed by smart survivors on comms, object helps him more than hinders him though.

An average Myers, his pressure isn't enough if survivors can share information on his whereabouts at all times, allowing you to leave his TR for infectious or pound a gen when you know he won't be beelining for you. Object helps him tier up early on though.

Doctor, short of the survivors being idiots doc's basekit without addons isn't enough to pressure a 4 man swf on comms, his strength in and of itself comes from making survivors uncoordinated because they cannot communicate which makes it difficult to play alongside his power, the moment people can share info and make sure to deny doc of the info he needs to function he becomes very lacklustre, especially at high levels against good loopers. Object has little effect on Doc

I have been hearing that one doesn't have the increased shard price. Honestly just a bug it looks like. Otherwise it would be 2700 just like Repressed Alliance is if not for the bug.

Or what if we're both wrong and Babysitter has been in the Shrine before?

I checked the wiki and this is its first documented time, I was on the page just last week and remember seeing 0 next to number of its appearances

  • He is balanced, but he's just so boring to play as and against once the PH player hits a certain level with him!

  • @Ghost_Face_Main said:

When a certain perk makes its first appearance in the Shrine of Secrets, it costs more than those that have already been in the Shrine.

This is babysitter's first time though

  • Wow, a unique perspective! An absolute REVELATION! Never before have I seen such a well though out and original opinion on this forum! For that I commend you!!!

    /s

  • Item Thief Trapper is one of the most fun things in the game, they just can't resist going back for the items, especially with hoarder (and its inevitable buff when the rarity code gets re-done so it's not broken) it's great fun!

  • At one point i was a ph main, before i realised his gameplay had no variation or high level of skill to it, you hit a skill cap with his power and then your skill with him rises as you get more skilled in chases generally.

I've played Oni a few times, I like him but I only really enjoy the bloody glove anti heal build because its OP but fun asf! His power is collecting a ton of blood for what is essentially a louder bass boosted hillbilly!

I really enjoy Twins and they have a negative reputation for the amount of slugging they can do! They have a lot of other uses though and generally a lot of people use them inoptimally, Victor's main utility is to end chases not go halfway across the map to injure someone who'll be healed by the time charlotte gets there, he's also probably the best totem defense in the game (a devour hope build is amazing on Twins)!

I'm yet to play Deathslinger but my opinions on being against him vary on the type of player, someone who's good but doesn't camp or tunnel, fun like most other killers, but the moment a deathslinger is scummy the game just becomes really unfun for the person subject to the scummyness!

Blight is currently on fast track to become my new main over Trapper, he's incredibly fun and his power has an extremely high skill cap that requires prediction, foresight as well as being fast paced and just really damn fun!

  • @Nossy said:

Maybe cause its the first occurence of this perk in the SoS or its a perk from the last licencied dlc ?

    Could be a bug tho.

This is the first ever time babysitter has been in the shrine. No price change there!

  • Going around and using bear traps to trap survivors but it's balanced and well optimised, seems like only a dream at this point though

Play in the evening, between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., in the EU region and 80% of matches are 3 to 4 SWF. It's horrible. Especially against Russian SWF ...

I do play during those times, I'm EU by default. I'm queueing killer right now in fact, I'll make this brief though because I'm loading into a lobby as I type.

It isnt as bad as people make out, sure you get a couple and those unpleasant matches stick out but that doesn't make it the majority!

  • How dare you be so bold yet so right!

  • Yeah and punish the people who play with their friends for fun, pog move.

Seriously, when I SWF with, you guessed it, friends, we make it out less than I do in solo because we mess around and sandbag each other, my friend wanted their rank 1 achievement recently so we decided to be sweaty and we couldn't go three minutes without pissing around with each other and getting 4kd again.

There is a lot of over exaggeration in this community about how often people get 4man swf object comms sweat squads and it's really unhealthy for the community, swf is not an issue, it's how SWF can be abused that is the issue!

    Seriously...

ohh I got one, what about the combain exploit? you know the one where survivors can literaly get to the hay and magically walk up to the window area from there and the killer cant? I guess u were never infinite looped on it before...

to me that seems way worse of an exploit than watching a stairwell, which im not sure how the killer did since I can never switch to the baby when that close to the hook

I can walk up there as killer, kinda sounds like a you problem ngl. Also if you're chasing properly they can only get one good one way loop out of a harvester unless you're mind gaming yourself like a plonker.

And yes if it were a problem that would be a major exploit but funnily enough it's not.

Idk why you're so set on justifying body blocking basement to me, sounds like your trying to justify your own scummy behaviour to yourself ngl, you're clearly the type that would do this shamelessly

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

If you think trapper is bad, you never played him with iri stone and purple sack.

have you ever played him without addons (how killers are made to be played)? His base kit is way too lacklustre to be viable at really high levels without addons (coming from a Trapper main). Killers shouldn't need addons to be viable.

  • I started as survivor about three months ago, my first killer game was a mess and I didn't pick up killer again for a few weeks!

Needless to say it was weird self teaching myself everything without a guide or teacher, it took me getting downed by a tier 3 Michael five times in one match to clock exposed meant you could be insta downed and at first thought that was just what Michael did as his special thing and was confused as to why he'd just stand there sometimes.

I also had to teach myself to move past camping and tunneling instead of getting frustrated by it!

Slowly but surely I'm learning more and getting better, as far as game knowledge goes I know quite a lot but I'm still learning how to apply it and get better every day.

It's nice you're helping your friend because I know I wish I'd had a teacher when I'd started!

I always find it funny when survivors try to window tech blight.

When will they realise the chemicals make him all seeing!!

  • I think I've played against one Blight ever.

But I personally adore playing as him and I might end up maining him over Trapper at this rate!!

He's got such good gen pressure and good mobility built in.

Right now I'm running bitter murmur, myc, dragons grip and blood favour.

I've 4kd my last 8 games without fail (not that is the fun decider, it would have been fun if they all ended up escaping as well, his power is just too fun)

  • @crowbarman said:

There's also death in the basement. That's an option.

If you didn't pick up on it, I was being sarcastic. Body blocking is an allowed mechanic, whether to make you die on the hook or prevent someone from being hooked.

Yeah but blocking someone from entering an area of the map isn't fine.

Go to another hook, or get some hits to scare them away before pick up. It's an allowed mechanic because it doesn't completely ######### over any chance the killer has.

If survivors bodyblocking hooks meant the killer had no possible way to complete their objective that would be bad, but that is not the case.

In case you can't tell, I don't care if you're being sarcastic

  • @crowbarman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1905870#Comment_1905870

I recall many times where I am literally blocked by several survivors trying to do a hook.

    Do seriously think that's okay?

    Are there other hooks? Yes

Are there other exits to the basement? No

    Grow tf up lmao

  • The amount of money behaviour would make if there was a monetized option to make Billy's and Bubba's chainsaws make funny sounds.

They are just losing money on having audio packs.

  • Lost a survivor only to turn a corner and run right into them.

Another time I was just swinging at random bushes on dead dawg because I couldn't find anyone and I hit someone!

  • The only instances of a killer ever DCing in any of my games is because they couldn't keep up.

It's happened to me three times, two times the killer just simply couldn't catch me and gave up, and the other time four gens popped at once in the early game, their shroud of separation ######### them over big time.

I get that it can be unpleasant as killer (from first hand experience) but they consciously make the choice to DC instead of sticking a match out! The only person at fault there is the killer.

BM is frustrating but a DC over it is stupid, so is a DC over anything in this game!

Saying survivors are at fault for playing a game is just stupid and sounds high key entitled and I'm kind of dissapointed at some people in this threads attitudes, of course some people think a killer DCing is funny and that's not good either.

Overall this thread is full of irrationalised viewpoints that haven't been weighed properly by the person writing them, and though that's representative of the DBD community who take everything wayyy too seriously, it's frustrating.

  • DS isn't worth the shards tbh, it's over rated, and if you're any semblance of a good survivor, there's a 95% chance the 60sec timer will run out before you get a chance to use it because in fast paced high level games that's too fast!

I've found more success in just using perks that mean if I do get hooked, I'm not going down soon after!

  • Soul Guard is only meta when run with unbreakable for whatever reason, I've never seen anyone other than me run it without

  • Why is topknot so strong?

I play Oni once in a blue moon so I haven't had much chance to focus on his addons or what makes him better or worse, I use anti heal aura reading Oni when I can because that's fun but outside of that he's had like maybe 4 or 5 uses from me

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

Wait a second, how did you change the type of letters? Can you do that from the mobile phone?

    Probably a font app

  • If there's two of us left at 4 gens or more there is little hope so I'll just pump out gens till the killers finds me and run them until i either lead them to the urban evading nea by accident or I get downed or they leave me.

I hate the idea of crouching around whilst we wait to be the killers first victim, nothing would be more boring!

If I'm going down I'm going down swinging, and maybe the other finds the hatch.

  • @JPA said:

Just leave, you're not entitled to get a 4 escape every game

Did you seriously think this was an okay response to a player literally blocking a gameplay mechanic of rescuing team mates, you can defend hook but making it outright physically impossible to get to hook for the save is game breaking! This isn't an, I'm entitled to my 4 man escape, its, a player was exploiting a design flaw to make someone elses gameplay experience miserable. Grow up man.

  • On my Blight (I main Trapper and he NEEDS early game slow down to have a fighting chance), I run Dragons Grip (to bait for the exposed I don't actually care about the regression), Make Your Choice, Blood Favour and Bitter Murmur (its good on large corn maps particularly, they never see you coming).

But it's fun to not care about gens and instead just do fun chases.

  • He is incredibly strong, but only if the Blight player has actually practiced and put time into him, he also requires a lot of foresight and a heavy dosage of common sense, which a lot of DBD players don't have.

Whilst he doesn't have as high a skill ceiling as Nurse it's still pretty damn high, and much harder than Spirit but still as oppressive as her.

If anything his collision and pov need to be fixed before a nerf is considered.

Playing on indoor maps (which I roll a lot), takes a LOT of practice at Blight and I do no where near as well as on outdoor maps.

Blight doesn't have that much disadvantage on corn maps I'll say, hooks and generators are bouncable, and survivors also have corn blindness, with blights base outfit you are INCREDIBLY hard to keep track of, and if you predict right, a blind lethal rush into the corn can be a death sentence for the survivor, because they have no warning before needing to juke you and rely instead on you being unable to track through corn.

Also someone said it above, high tier killer doesn't always mean broken, it can also just mean very effective! Let killers have something nice seeing as Nurse is bugged to ######### and Spirit is, well, Spirit...

  • Just knocked out seven 4ks in a row tonight as Blight without a single gen regression perk (unless you count dragons grip, but I just like the instadown, its funny baiting the gen tap)

    For reference my build is

    Bitter Murmur

    MYC

    Dragons Grip

Blood Favour (it's a weaker hex perk but I love it, also, it's funny watching people run for the pallet save only to realise they can't and getting smacked down)

  • Phaw I got hit by a blood warden NOED gamer yesterday and it was the most fun and tense 60 seconds of a match I've ever had. The obsession was about to be hooked and me and the other guy were injured, so we went to leave, but as I was about to go through he was hooked and blood warden activated, I nearly ######### myself istg, so instead me and Quentin pulled off an injured rescue mission against a Freddy with the killing intent of a tiger hunting a gazelle.

    Fun asf ngl

But side note NOED is broken

  • If I need an obsession I'll be big brain and put on For The People or Blood Pact (instead of bond particularly) instead of trying to waste a 1/4 of my build on a perk that activates for 60 seconds twice per match (if I'm unlucky), with even less chance of being used, I don't get downed in that time unless I'm being farmed anyway, I'd much rather have a useful perk that can read auras or instantly heal.

The only fun DS changes is it makes the killers game less enjoyable because someone thought they'd bait a grab and force them to eat a five second stun...

  • Anti heal build for sure

    Colorophobia

    Big terror radius presence one

    Sloppy

    Dark Devotion

With the addon that makes survivors absorb blood and reveal their aura

  • This is really damn extreme, a perk is meant to help a survivor not punish them, these effects aren't warranted for 3 seconds of aura reading that you can get off a better perk like dark sense or alert...

E.g. Deliverance, one of the better perks in the game, broken for 90 seconds, its balanced, it doesn't exhaust you, it doesn't deafen you, it doesn't give you blindness, and it's much better than this proposed effect for object.

OoO would go from the best aura perk in the game (BBQ in second) to the worst in the game with this change. It needs to be nerfed, but in moderation, to make it less stressful to the killer whilst still actually providing the survivor a benefit

No I don't have a better idea but object is a finicky ass thing. If they are gonna change it this much they might as well give it a complete rework so it's not an aura reading perk anymore!

Fyi deafen is in the game alreadt (I think Wraith is deafened when in stealth, and Hag's disfigured ear inflicts deafened on the survivor)!

  • @Zayn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1904097#Comment_1904097

I main Blight and I think that would be pretty broken. A good Blight will be able to get free hits at practically every loop especially if they are a flick Blight. It needs some sort of downside to really promote that high-risk, high-reward gameplay.

I mean yeah, I myself play a lot of Blight (Trapper main tho).

But I'm just thinking about bringing it up to that level of other iri addons, they ARE rare for a reason, it's not a free down like iri head or whatever exposing perk you can think of, but it still provides a benefit out the gate that adds and edge to gameplay and changes the way he plays.

I personally think the idea ers on the kinda unbalanced but not really sort of area, what sort of downside would your propose, because a downside would definitely make sense!

  • Iri blight tag should make every rush (including opening rush) a lethal rush, and once it uses all tokens it becomes an insta down.

That way it still has capability to be insanely useful but keeps its high risk high reward insta down intent

  • Lights flicker in areas where there are unfinished gens on inside areas or maps, best example is the Haddonfield house!!

The best tip for finding gens is if you ever don't know what to put in your build, use visionary, it prevents three gens and actually makes it really easy to find gens!

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 28
