I had a Nea in my match against the plague, and every time I unhooked her, her timer was already going till broken and she'd start self caring under hook because I wouldn't heal her, and then her and the meg would go and cleanse the moment they got broken, the plague wasn't even very good. They were both yellow ranks. The plague a green rank, for reference I'm rank 3.
I'm really hoping that MMR fixes the matchmaking, because if it doesn't, it might ultimately end up in DBD's death

Sure but I think they can't do it cause it will oversexualise the character (imagine a bulge in the lower half^^), a kimono skin for both should be possible tho.
Also thanks to you I learned what spirit wear is a sarashi, I always though it was just a kind of mortuary bandage to cover chest and genitals.
Just because Oni is male doesn't mean its over sexualised, its no more sexual than having a bugle in his other clothes, just basic anatomy.

I have to agree, I'm undoubtedly gonna want to die completing those challenges so mercy would be greatly appreciated lmaoo

Key users are usually selfish and leave you behind tho. A good way to gte killer's attention is use OoO
I use OoO as well but more often than not its playing the game of ignore the object and tunnel everyone else to spite them, consistently, I find the fake key adds stakes to them ignoring me, though they aren't aware its fake
-
All these people shunning key users, it could be a broken key, like, you'd rather sandbag a possibly innocent person than actually play the game?
I use broken keys to grab attention because I need practice, I get if I brought the key to get an early free escape, but people need to stop taking stuff at face value ://
@ The Topic
I dodge lobbies with two or more matching names or incredibly bad/toxic survivors I've met before, or people with offensive names
-
I almost always use at least one of the killers teachables on them (unless I'm doing a REALLY specific build) because I like to keep it thematic to the character!
E.g. on Trapper, I ALWAYS have agitation, even without basement its still good to run, on Blight I could run any and/or all of his teachables at any given time, and unpopular opinion, I like undying on its own for the aura reading! etc etc.
The only killers I COULD use all three teachables on would probably be Blight (with tinkerer as fourth, ruin would be overkill competing with blood favour for the dull totems, plus being meta is boring), Hag because all her base perks are pretty strong, and Clown (because coulorophobia and bamboozle are fun and PGTW is just strong)
-
I'm actively trying to get tunneled, so I'll bring a broken key or a skeleton key with blood amber if have one spare, along with object!
I get its toxic but I don't use the keys to escape, I just want to practice getting chased!!

ah how could someone not think of this before?!

MMM blight and trapper for sure, my two main killers :D
-
I feel like this post is trying to rally the me vs you players on this forum.
Both sides have their ups and their downs.
Entitled survivors say killers have it easier.
Entitled Killers say survivors have it easier.
Really this question should be aimed at a rank area.
Because at low ranks to about high purple its smooth sailing and very much killer sided, but the moment the survivors know what they are doing (moving from purple to red ranks, ignoring any and all boosted potatoes), its survivor sided for sure.

I don't understand this thread. You came in 4th in a grey ranks match, and somehow your teammates were the problem?
There's a 99% chance they were keeping the killer busy all match, it doesn't yield many bp with the 8000 max per emblem
-
Cheryl and Felix are my two mains (with David just behind)!
Cheryl because I'm a silent hill fanboy, I hope she gets more skins!!!
Felix because he is so dapper and high key sexy!
and David for very obvious reasons, big boy muscle man
-
I like this idea but would be incredibly hard for the devs to implement and that 99% means we would never see it, especially with issues on balancing and debugging the game as it is, extra modes and questlines like this would be bugged to hell, suddenly half the reports here are, I escaped but didn't further my objective, or i cant get this painting from haddonfield it doesn't work, etc etc. :((
-
You think cocky, toxic survivors are bad for the killer, they are even worse team mates, they follow the killer all round trying to get flashlight saves and getting downed, then teabag and get themselves tunneled, then decide to force a DS, then either suicide or DC when they get knocked down again.
I don't find annoying to go against, I get things annoying to go with

I like a challenge that's fun and engages me in different ways, like going up against a good Blight or Huntress. Very hard to play against but also very rewarding. I don't like a challenge that literally involves me not doing the one thing that's actually fun to do in this game as a survivor, and instead wants me to AFK on gens and crouch around the map. There is a very noticeable difference between a good challenge and a bad one.
I get where you're coming from but that's someone's choice to play like that against hag, I've found I'm more successful when I play very aggressively against hag. Plus that's more fun, she's a 110% killer so pulling her into a chase where she doesn't have time to reset the nest of traps I just set off means I can take her attention and aid my team mates who at least one of them are doing gens.
It's a choice to play a certain way against a killer, it's also a choice what kind of challenge you want it to be!
-
because some people don't like a challenge
-
Pig, for sure imo, just working on a gen and then suddenly she's honking and running at you like she got sprint burst, scary #########
-
I've started running DS yesterday because I am running a build that gets me tunnelled (for practice), and I've found, the fairest thing to do is let the DS spin out if you aren't being tunneled, makes life a lot more fun for the killer, I had my fun with the chase, I don't want to spoil the killers time
-
I mean, look at the bloodpoints as well, if that's not a red flag ://

"masterpiece". the only thing that has been released is a demo. why would you call an unreleased game a masterpiece? have you even played it?
Yes, I love it, and ofc I'm over exaggerating calm yer tits
-

it isn't even released yet
Yet it is already a masterpiece of a game, and if a RE chapter were to be released, hyping up the new game with it would be an amazing revenue stream for RE's creators.
Though if it were it would still be an old game because I doubt the devs or RE's creators thought that out ahead of time
-
The changes for clown are great and a step forward, but I'll be able to loop him even worse than before, his bottles were enough to get me before, now he can do it faster :((
-
I actually enjoy playing against him, makes using object fun (I don't use it to be toxic I'm trying to get better at looping and running the killer so I put it on to grab their attention). Plus it gives me as a survivor a challenge.
I will say though I went against a rank 15 yesterday (I got matched with all yellow ranks and a single purple) rank 3 btw, and he had everyone but me on death hook within four minutes! It's insane (not like the purple was a potato either, I've matched with them before and they are pretty damn good).
Thing is, Freddy is balanced in moderation.
His kit is full of great things like anti loop and time wasting and a deceiving lunge, but put that all together and it creates a overtly strong killer, with the rework Freddy went from one extreme to the opposite, almost like BHVR did it out of spite. Yes Freddy is bearable but in the hands of someone as skilled as Otz or OhTofu there's no point in even playing the round, you're gonna lose no matter what you do.
Either way he's not OP, just overkitted with a complexity targeted at appealing to noobs (he's really easy to understand, easy to use, and easy to execute)

Yes, I get angry when I know if I had competent team mates we would have escaped. I get angry when I loop the killer for 5+ minutes, and only one gen was done. I get angry when my team mates go down in 2 seconds and suicide on hook. It's frustrating to be good at the game and losing not because of your own skill.
My "hate" isn't the issue here. The issue is people being carried to red ranks when they shouldn't. Why do you think most people would rather play SWF?
People are carried to red ranks for no good reason, yes, but all you can do is grind your teeth and bear it, its better to look past stuff than dwell on it.
No matter how good you can get, there are people who are going to be worse than you no matter what (even if they earned their way to red ranks as well), that's the way it works, people get better over time, there's nothing that can be done except hope they get better and you can move into the next round with better team mates, being angry achieves nothing but making your life unpleasant!

Let's face it, people on the forums like to over exaggerate to make everything that they don't like sound game breaking. It's what killers do with swf groups, which in turn makes solo queue sound like a miserable experience when it's honestly not that bad.
I mean, some people who should be sitting in green ranks are boosted to red because of communication alone, when I have played swf (which is the rare occasion, life has been exponentially easier because of the large amount of communication, the qol change is insane).

Funny, i do keep statistics as well as a 100% solo survivor. Somewhere between rank 2-4, and i have an escape rate of about 80% since the mori nerf (was between 72 and 75% before that) Also not running meta perks, unless self care is one (and i see it often in my games, so maybe it is)
To topic: As a solo survivor, you depend very much on your teammates (as it should be). in red ranks, you get decent teammats most of the time, meaning that most people acutally work on gens. They might not all be good at chases, but at least they play the game. But from time to time you get games where all your teammates have a serious gen-allergy, and you will do the work alone.
Oh, and if someone dcs or hook suicides early, you basicly screwed (although i had several games where the remaining survivors still finished the 5 gens in a 3v1 game, with any number of survivors still escaping. They were actually the most exciting games).
Damn, that's a pretty good escape rate! How often is it 3/4 man escapes (not being rude, genuinely curious)?
Self Care is a bit weird, there is a section of people who use it religiously (particularly Blendettes), and the people who hate it because it wastes time (I myself use it in a couple builds, but only with desperate measures, which is also a generally helpful perk).
I do love the tense 3v1 and 2v1 matches, it's so fun!

So you're telling me, someone who runs kindred every match, that I should be happy for my 3 selfish team mates won because they decided to abandon me on hook instead of saving? Lol that's not how this works I'm sorry.
good for you running kindred, but acting like this is what turns people away from the game! Hate and anger creates, you guessed it, more hate and anger.
So that is how it works you just want to be angry at something, I've been left behind for no reason whilst running kindred, there's ######### all you can do it about it, move onto the next match and have fun in that one...

Me dying and my 3 team mates escaping because they didn't save me from first hook isn't a win for me.
Never once played selfish and would rather save a team mate than leave. Me not liking team mates who were carried to red ranks by SWF and can't loop for more than 2 seconds doesn't mean I am selfish. I'd consider it common sense really.
I never said that wasn't the case, look on the bright side that your team got a three man escape, as long as you didn't do ######### all all round you at LEAST safety pipped right? Otherwise you're doing something wrong.

Yea, people don't like to lose.
4k hours here and I'm always between rank 1 and 2 (unless there's a reset). It is bad. It is bad to lose not because you suck but because other people suck.
but there is a big difference between dying and losing, losing is a 1/0 man escape, the game is balanced for a two man escape (or so the devs say), so dying, whether your team mates are good or not, should not matter if you did well and served your purpose, people who end up bitter because of bad team mates play selfish and become the ones leaving behind, where as I like to play for the team as a whole, maybe I'm just very happy go lucky but that's how I see it

It's funny how people on this post think I'm saying all survivors are like that when I have not said that once.
I never said you said all survivors, and I'm addressing the people on the three pages of this post who seem to act like that's the case.
-
Survivor:
No Mither
Hope (its nice but I feel it has more potential)
Vigil
Pharmacy
Lucky Break
Up The Ante
Killer:
Monstrous Shrine
Surge
Beast Of Prey (goes great with obsession perks, has more potential than it is showing)
Bloodhound (I want more reason to use it, as a colour blind person it's the only way I can track blood)
-
As a Trapper main, I can confidently say he is absolute trash. I love him and his kit to bits but he needs a buff so bad, he's the only killer that wastes their own time getting their power for a small chance of getting benefit from it (all others that have to collect get an immediate or easily achievable bonus from it). He needs to become more efficient most immediately (traps toward centre, yellow bag basekit) and he needs an addon rework.
The only killer that comes close to how trash Trapper is, is Wraith, but at least his power has guaranteed function (in some matches I can't even get some of my traps because survivors swamp me too early and leaving to get them is a 100% loss)
-
half the people in this post stink of entitlement!
yes there are a vocal group of survivors who want ezy mode bully the killer time, some not most
but there's also a group of killers who think doing gens efficiently is toxic and survivors should just hold w and not escape
everyone likes to win but not everyone wants easy mode, get over it. Someone people are gonna be toxic #########, but not everyone.
-
No, it's not, anyone who says otherwise just doesn't like dying!
I've been keeping a statistic count, I have a 43% escape rate as a rank 3 survivor, but I almost always pip or double pip (unless my team gets absolutely destroyed, getting some bad luck can set me back quite a bit). Going into solo survivor (and swf, you save your friends and die, no one complains about that), you should 100% expect to die for the good of your team, 90% of the time I'm taking the killer on a 4/5 gen run and I end up making my points up on totems and healing others, and when I'm not doing that I'm full well pounding gens for the sake of the person in chase and going for saves, risky or not.
Keep in mind I'm also running non-meta builds 90% of the time cuz that ######### is boring, the closest I get is running the occasional adrenaline or dead hard, so people who says you need x or y to do well is full well not right, and neither is anyone saying solo queue is bad (it IS how the game was designed)

I'm sure there are plenty of brainlets in the DBD community who would enjoy the asinine gameplay the Twins bring.
And no, the Twins being an unhealthy addition to the game is something most survivors and killers can agree on. I haven't seen a SINGLE survivor play against them and have fun, I have seen some killers that love to how close you can leave Charlotte or Victor to the hook and block basement.
That's just people exploiting it, I for one love going against the twins, and playing them without body blocking or slugging or camping. Sorry if that's too much for some people's brains to handle but I like it
-
I see them a lot still.
I also still use them
The cypress moris are a particularly fun reward imo
I shove on an ivory if I see a player that I've had a bad experience with before
-
You don't speak for the whole of the community though, there are a portion of us that enjoy facing and playing the twins
-
Yellow bag and logwood dye should be base kit
Tar bottle should be reworked to become a camouflage kit that blends traps into surroundings
-
Jeez, who y'all getting matched with?
Every match me and my teammates manage to split gens fairly and do them whilst others are being chased, and beside the occasional idiot they all have common sense too
-
Honestly though, I 50 50 survivor and killer and I've got to say
NOED is ######### stupid
In my opinion it should become a token based obsession perk. For every time you down the obsession you gain a token (up to 4/5, I'm also thinking maybe gaining a token or two changes the obsession to prevent major tunneling), in end game, a token can be used to instantly down someone (tokens are also used on hits against hooked people and injured people) as long as NOED's totem still stands under normal conditions!
This stops it becoming a safety net for killers who want to do nothing and not improve and shows baby killers they actually have to try
-
Any clown cosmetic ever
-
Once had a three man (ny three team mates) flame me in post game chat for using visionary.
One of them bought a game offering and I did four of the five gens solo that match, whilst catching chases and watching them do nothing on bond.
I doubt we would have won if I hadn't had that perk, gens are an ass to find on The Game!
On the killer side I got accused of cheating for using Mad Grit and Agitation.
And a four man got ultra mad at me for using bitter murmur (all blendettes with reagent offerings) as Blight
-
@Moundshroud said:
I've made this suggestion before, and I'll do it again. NOED isn't a problem as it is now. However, if you want to really drive home that people should do Totems, I would make the following change.
- NOED activates the same as now.
- Anyone who has NOT cleansed a Totem suffers Exposed.
- The exit gates are blocked to anyone who has not cleared a Totem.
- Killing the now lit NOED will end all effects as normal.
Why do I suggest this? It should make it clear to people that Totems are an objective and you SHOULD do one.
I like this idea, but then you'll still get the team mates who don't bother because they think they are too good to get hit with NOED or just don't care and want to depip, and then what indicates to the killers who's expose and who isn't

That first paragraph is hardcore generalizing. You literally have no idea whether the player who's bringing NOED is doing it because they hardcore rely on it or if they are doing it because they have zero viable perks to stop generators. Seriously the options for Gen slowdown for new killers is very poor. There's basically only Unnerving Presence which isn't great, Lullaby which falls off hard, and Thanatophobia which doesn't function on most killers.
That second paragraph is assuming that anyone using NOED is just about incapable of introspection. I've never once had a game where we got to Exit Gates powered where I thought I played particularly well, whether I am using NOED or not.
Unrelenting is not the poor man's STBFL. Unrelenting works on missed hits, STBFL works on hits that connect which lets the Survivors get less distance off of getting hit. Completely different. In theory, Unrelenting never ever helps you because you never miss. Granted theory is different than practice and you do sometimes miss, but it isn't often enough to make Unrelenting good.
I can't comment on how those perks help or don't help people with colorblindness because I am not. I am however going to say how they help (or don't help) me personally. In all honesty FoV should be an option slider and Shadowborn reworked to be something else. Blood Hound isn't terrible but I wouldn't call it fantastic. There's at least 3 tracking perks in the base set I'd pick over it. Predator on the other hand can actively hurt you because it makes it less likely that scratch marks will splash up onto trees and walls where you can see them from significantly farther away.
I'm aware that Lullaby is pretty good for awhile. When I started out as Killer I'd play Huntress with Whispers, Thrill, Lullaby, and... something else don't remember exactly. Problem is that Lullaby falls off and when it does, it falls off hard. Iron Maiden is a Legion teachable and not relevant to the current discussion. Huntress's other two perks are Territorial Imperative and Beast of Prey. TI could potentially get you a down in the basement which isn't bad, but it is 100% dead weight if the Survivors don't go in the Basement and kind of Dead Weight on low mobility killers. Beast of Prey is honestly hard handicapped due to being tied to Bloodlust 1. Having undetectable during chase is actually really good... but it getting reset whenever Bloodlust does makes it useless.
Honestly fair enough, I'll reply in full when I get up tomorrow, but just wanted to say idfk why I thought Iron Maiden was a Huntress perk, my bad lmao

Who said they were relying on NOED? Who said they aren't playing normally as best they can and only packing NOED just in case matchmaking bodies them? Or because the base set of perks has exactly zero strong generator slowdown?
To modify your analogy, learning to walk a tight rope without a safety net is a terrible idea because you're new to this... you're going to mess up and it'd be nice if you didn't get crippled off of one mistake. Likewise, when you're new to killer, you're going to mess up and it'd be nice if you didn't get absolutely stomped for 1-2 mistakes that maybe weren't even particularly obvious.
Also, Unrelenting is garbage. Meanwhile, you've also got Wraith and Huntress as 2 of the 5 free killers who have basically zero good teachables between them. Lullaby is good against bad Survivors but the other 5 are bad.
Because people who use NOED rely on it as their safety net that's always there to save them, because most games, survivors don't do bones (for whatever reason, inner strength supremacy anyway).
Everyone is gonna be bodied by matchmaking, but the people who learn from it aren't the people who use perks that reward them doing bad. A baby killer could go into a game against all purple and red ranks, get a lucky down then camp the hook after being ran all game with NOED, they get a lucky snowball because some claudette decided the killer wasn't good enough to knock her down whilst she was rescuing in his face. Suddenly he gets a 3/4k and takes that away that he played well and NOED is a good perk. Being bodied by matchmaking should be a learning experience before it should be an excuse to use #########, broken perks (not just on the killer side, survivor side as well).
Unrelenting is the poor man's STBFL, whilst not as good, if you aren't running other obsession perks you know if someone has DS, and it isn't nearly as niche, providing a constant bonus, better than the learning curve obsession perks have at lower ranks.
Shadowborne is an amazing perk and is actually really useful! As a colourblind person, if bloodhound can fit in my build its surely welcome, and when I first started I found tracking scratch marks very difficult (not including my colour blindness, I can vaguely see fresh scratch marks on dark maps because they glow, on light maps it isnt as bad, there predator is useful.
Lullaby is actually surprisingly good up to about green ranks, good starter perk as it makes skill checks difficult. Iron Maiden is an amazing perk, it isn't given enough credit, at low ranks way too many people hide in lockers, good starter perk. Beast of prey is outright useless I can't argue there.
-
In all actual fact, this is a connection problem more than anything. There is no exploit, just ping.
