Nerf keys?

Please, I love to use keys sometimes but if you were to nerf them then make it NOT for the hatch. I also kind of hope that it isn't not be something like "One key per survivor". You might think I'm silly but I'll explain why that might actually be a buff.

In most instances, a key is used in a swf. The survivor "probably" is going to get tunnelled not matter what. If the "nerf" is one key per survivor then wont every survivor run a key, it isn't a nerf if it's countable. Just imagine killer mains, 4 survivors with blood amber, lol.

  • Buff the hatch so it appears directly at the beginning and chests have a 50% chance of containing a skeleton key or be a mimic that eats you up.

  • When people ask for key nerfs it's essentially always about the Hatch.

To explain why people (mostly killer mains like myself) want it, it's because items that let players skip objectives need to have serious restriction. This is why nerfing Moris was justified, and Brand New Parts further back. But Keys have the potentially most extreme effect out of all of these, potentially allowing Survivors to skip completing several gens entirely and immediately end the match, with its only restrictions being the Item requirement, the minimum gen requirement, and having to locate the Hatch. Not really sufficient when we're talking about a win condition IMO.

You know, all jokes aside, that isn't a bad idea. Not literally "eats you up" but a 50% that a key might be fake. If you use the fake key then the entity will kill you.

  • Buff your patience?

It's clearly in the works, as has been said but it's not as simple as changing the value of the mori from 1 to 2. The keys need a complete rework.

Edit: ngl didn't read the post sorry, but I'll leave that there for people who come to rally behind wanting a key nerf

the "one key per survivor" aspect of key nerfs people have talked about is using the same no brain usage idea of nerfing mori's by just making it only on death hook. I'm not saying that it's a good or bad nerf for the mori but it was litterally said we didn't think hard on this and came up with something quickly and implemented it while not talking about keys in the same idea so people took the change one variable in the game to make the nerf happen and thus the one key per survivor per escape, changed hatch stays open time to 0. NOW they say they are re-working mori's AGAIN and will put it out with the change to keys. That's why this idea was put out and no one truly expects it to be that way but now that they said they were re-working the mori nerf that lends credence to the fact they knee jerk reacted to the survivor aspect of the mori vs key argument and found a way to placate the survivors at the cost of the killer base.

Though the survivors ARE their bread and butter, you loose ONE player that plays killer and then 4 people have to wait that much longer, 10 lost, 40 have to wait that much longer, 100 then 400 have to wait that much longer. Assuming the number of people playing survivor stays constant and either doesn't stop playing or switches to killer. but it shows that though 4/5ths of the game will generally be survivor players the 1/5 remaining has a dramatic effect on the other 4/5ths that play the game (again the numbers for each side stay static and only killers leave the game.)
