You are quite right, it may well have started there.
With Tapp, they got Danny Glover's likeness but had a man named Dave Blake do the VA work

Which is what makes these recent liscensed DLCs, starting with Ash, quite a bit different, in that they actually have the actors fully signed on aswell.
Started with Tapp actually, Tapp looks very similar to Danny Glover

Imagine if the killer could just eliminate a team when the survivors were about to win "1 in 100 times".
Survivors would be flipping their #########.
But that wouldn't happen though would it?
Gaining a key isn't a guaranteed escape, you still have to find the hatch and are still vulnerable to the killer, simply kill the survivor with the key...
It's not rocket science

When he opens an exit gate, good god, he looks so damn squinty it's a little hilarious. Ash looks better in lobby than he does in game by a little bit so I'm looking forward to seeing ingame, inmatch Steve.
And then his eyes when getting pulled out of a locker lmao

It's the auto aim, the auto aim will quickly lunge if a survivor is near your killer, thus if they dead hard they'll avoid the quick swing of your auto aim

What does that have to do with what I said?
That is what the whole thread is about. Both finding keys and RBT's revolve around RNG so technically it does have something to do with what you said.
If RBT's RNG is fine then the RNG of keys is fine

The Survivors don't deserve to live if they can't search five boxes in two minutes. :P
But the survivors don't deserve to escape if luck is on their side and they find a key even though then it's still not guaranteed that they will escape.

They don't deserve anything for getting lucky.
Then let's get rid of RBT's because she doesn't deserve a kill if she gets lucky and RNG is on her side :)

They don’t seem rare enough in my personal experience as killer. Probably a third/quarter of my matches end in hatch escapes from a key obtained using plunderers Instinct. It’s quite aggravating. If survivors were being mori’d that frequently, they’d be pretty pissed.
That's funny cause even when I use plunderer's I still kept always getting brown toolboxes and medkits, I don't usually run the perk so 🤷♂️

It's much higher then 1% since the chest rework.
Even if it was 1% the point remains the same. Any serious game is skill based not luck based. Should the killer get a 1%chance for every survivor to just be automatically sacrificed each trial?
You can't compare a key to a sacrifice, every single game has luck involved with RNG, it is extremely rare to get a key so the survivor deserves to open the hatch if they were lucky enough to find one.
-
@Might_Oakk said:
Survivors bringing keys in is fun. The killer can try play at preventing early hatch escapes. Having a survivor team escape because they got lucky is silly.
Just had a fun match spoiled by this for the 1000th time.
You do realise how rare it is to find a dull or skeleton key in a trial chest?
Quit being so dramatic and accept that they got the 1 out of 100 in getting a key out of a chest

There was nothing sarcastic about it, you worded your sentence that way, in a way that it wasn't executed in the way you wanted to sound like, what you should have said instead that would have made it more clear (and yes I understand what you meant to said but still) "Wow complaining about survivors vaulting a pallet? Just break it" but instead said "complaining about vaulting a pallet?" Which could reference anything, but in that case, people reading that could just assume that you are saying that I'm complaining about vaulting as a survivor and I should break the pallet or referring to me vaulting it in general.
And also "humans have human abilities, they gain nothing from the entity" is not false, I don't know if you don't read my whole replies or something, but I have clearly stated several times in my past replies saying how that I know that this game isn't all based on reality logic did I not? The only things from what I know so far that the entity gave them is perks and pallets, and really the only other thing the entire gave them is aura reading, now of course going back to what I said earlier, I've should have stated saying survivors gain very little of anything from the entity, but still that can be seen as nothing.
No, the entity gave them the ability to run endlessly without tiring and fall from great heights, there's always an answer as to why the video game parts are there, the reason survivors can do such things is because they are the only abilities the entity gave them.
The entity gave them pallets and windows to defend themselves, indeed, but the entity also allowed them to run endlessly, never bleed out (when injured), heal without the knowledge or supplies, repair generators without the knowledge or supplies and fall from great heights.
The entity gave killers abilities so they also gave survivors abilities to stand a chance. It's pretty easy to understand

Ash looks 90% like current Bruce. Close enough to be obvious but still a little, tiny bit iffy. Nancy and Steve both 99.9% look like Natalia and Joe though, which is a huge step in the right direction.
Indeed, I feel like Ash's eyes are a bit too small than Bruce's irl eyes, they nailed the chin though 😂
-
@MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky said:

So you solely followed my logic? Okay let's point out a few things.
I point out the fact of how some things that the survivors are able to do is inhuman and does not make sense because of how it would work in reality, and with that I said that almost (not all) any games you find, there's always some sort of reality aspect to it, but I didn't say this game was entirely run by reality did I? No, just like how you assumed that I said that I shouldn't be able to break any pallets to catch someone when I clearly didn't even state that at all and after stating that you didn't bring it up again and of course the way you worded your sentence "Wow, complaining about vaulting a pallet? Just break it" So as a survivor I should not value a pallet and break it as a survivor?
Going back to when I said that, this game follows some reality logic, but not entirely by it. If you were to look at the fall distance at some places, like off a hill or some mid-height places people can still land correctly if they did it right, of course the animation of how it shows the survivors falling off is not correct, but them stuttering and not be able to run or even move for a few seconds after falling is realistically right, especially from mid-height areas, but that doesn't mean that dead by daylight needs to go full realistic mode and if a Survivor jumps out of a window as high as one of the windows from red forest or haddonfield should be injured or die, there's games that contain game mechanics and realism mechanics and you usually find those in asymmetrical games because of balance reasons. The survivors are solely human, unless you want to look at them as half human half God (or immortal) or half human half demigod for some reason.
And I never said it was my logic did I? Though I did get "my" logic from the lore of the game and understand it.
So you assumed two things so far on me, thinks that the survivors in this game or half human and half immortal, ask a question to me that didn't make sense ("complaining about vaulting a pallet?) And now you blindly jumped into "my logic" and try to use it against me without thinking about?
Okay, frankly what you said is an assumption of what I meant.
First off you were complaining that it wasn't realistic for a survivor to full on throw themselves over a pallet without any momentum to do so. I didn't say anything about you breaking a pallet as survivor, it's quite clearly obvious that breaking pallets is exclusive to killer so don't give me those sarcastic smart ass replies.
Secondly, you said and I quote "Humans have human abilities, they gain nothing from the entity", false, as I mentioned above, the entity grants the survivor the ability to run endlessly without tiring and can fall from great heights without any injury.

They would have to pay the actor's for their likeness in game as well so it is definitely going to cost more than other Licenced DLC's
A prime example of this is if you compare the price of Ash and Leatherface's paragraphs, Leatherface's cost (I live in the UK) £1.99 whereas Ash's cost £3.99, this is due to Ash being voiced by Bruce Campbell and also because they had to pay for his likeness whereas they didn't with Leatherface.
This sums it up basically that the STRANGER THINGS chapter will cost a bit more

Time to put real time into games that dont sellout for fan service.

I’m not sure if it’s an exploit, but I find looping really boring for both sides. It’s not exactly scary or engaging to just run around a rock a few times to avoid the killer, but it works. I almost feel like I’m sabotaging my team by not looping because I’m not being as time efficient as I could be. It’s not how I want to play, but I feel like I have to.
And as killer, I feel like I either need to play anti-looping killers (Nurse/Spirit) or have a more difficult and boring game.
I hope looping is looked at in the near future. It’s overall not a very interesting or fun way to play.
Looping is the funnest part of the game, it's especially fun when you're an experienced survivor and the killer that's chasing you is around the same skill level, makes for some interesting chases.
Chase is fine and should stay the way it is

Killers in the entity realm, have supernatural abilities from The Entity
Your whole argument right there was just pointless and flawed really easily
Incorrect. Following your logic, if the survivors were solely human and didn't gain any abilities from the entity then that means they would tire and die from falling from heights, both of which doesn't happen in Dead by Daylight.
Your reply to my whole argument right there was just pointless and flawed really easily

the devs defined humanoid as "1 head, 2 arms, 2 legs, walks upright."
But perhaps the Demogorgon can go on all fours for a bit and use an attack similar to the Pigs dash attack and when the Demogorgon is on all fours they get an increased movement speed? Basically a mix of Pigs and Legion's power

I never said it wasn't likely. I said I would rather have Joyce or Nancy. I feel like they just gave into all the fangirling over Steve just to keep them happy.
I don't mind Steve it's just that he's like an empty shell compared to 4 or 5 other characters.
Even Murray Beamuent had more of an appeal. He has a mission to find hopper and ALEXEIIII! unlike Steve who just tags along for no reason. I don't care about the character of Steve but you know it's season 4 next and maybe that'll change.
Steve literally saved Nancy and Jonathon in season 1 and won a one on one with the Demogorgon (sadly can't do that in dbd D;).
He also tried to protect the kids from Billy in season 2 and also helped Dustin and kept him safe.
In season 3 he storms into a Russian base and wins a fight with a Russian security guard.
He's definitely important.

None of the survivors are underage, as stated by the devs in a previous livestream. They're all at least in their 20s.
Well if we take into account that Laurie is 17 from the first HALLOWEEN and that Quentin was 16/17 from NOES (2010) and they were taken by those time periods then they are indeed underage

yeah I'm excited, really curious about how the Demogorgon is going to work, I was actually more expecting them to use Billy for the killer.
Same, well you can't trust the devs, first they said that they wouldn't do a Clown and also wouldn't do a non humanoid killer so I'm not surprised that the Demogorgon is included.
I'm just gonna be excited to add Steve to my list of licensed male mains, it was originally Quentin, Bill, Ash and Tapp but it'll now be equally Quentin and Steve then Bill, Ash and Tapp.

Personally I'm hoping that they rework wraith so it takes twenty real life years for him to uncloak. It's unfair how he can hit you with a basic attack
And tier one bloodlust is way to strong, maybe bloodlust should in fact slow a killer down to 80% movement speed to punish them for being in a chase for too long because being hit is unfair :kappa:
Killers are fine where they are, survivors need buffs though 🙂

I'm aware a lot of people do, and even if by some chance a second survivor randomly shows up, we are still getting a killer, this is already known.
I guess you're right, I honestly don't know why having two survivors would deny a killer showing up.
I'd also think that the lack of a summer event could lead to two survivors.

I think that Dwight would give motivational speeches at the campfire and offer support after rough trials, also plan out future strategies by drawing them out in the dirt or something
Bill would have a small group gathered around him as he tells tales from the war and the apocalypse, always gives an important life lesson at the end of them
Ash believes he has some sort of competition going on with Bill on who can tell the best stories but deep down he has a whole lot of respect for the Veteran. He always talks about the crazy adventures he's had with Pablo and Kelly and uses them to try flirt with the girls, kind of like a "Oh hey, did you know I beat a 700 ft tall demon by myself" kind of thing
Ace likes to show magic tricks or card cheats to whoever is willing to play along, also joins in on telling stories and talks about all the run in's he's had with debt collectors (a lot of them are extremely exaggerated but hey, he wants to have crazy adventures too) Also tends to crack jokes and cheer up whoever is looking sad
Claudette always checks up on survivors who come back from trials not feeling 100%, helps them by whipping up whatever medicinal thing she can at the time, offers a lot of advice health and well-being wise
Quentin is always trying to find peace and quiet to get some sleep - he eventually gives up on it and just settles on staying up to watch over everyone while they sleep (occasionally dozes off whilst doing so)
Like Claudette and Dwight, Jane also likes offering support to other survivors but mainly focuses on emotional support. Encourages other survivors to vent to her and she comforts and offers advice best she can
Laurie always preps everyone for trials by making sure their they have everything they need and have their head in the game. Teaches everyone how to look after themselves and hold a fight
Jake tends to keep to himself and mainly just listens in but if a conversation happens to catch his interest, he'll start engaging more and be a lot more open
Feng likes to talk about her days when she was an e-sports competitor and focuses more on the more happy memories of her gaming career, reminiscing on her wins and the best games she remembers playing
Nea likes to playfully stir up other survivors to have a little fun, seems to pick on David the most as they both tend to make the most trouble, also likes to tease Dwight but in a more caring manner like a "oh you poor baby, looks like I gotta save your butt again."
Jeff and Kate exchange music tastes and provides music and entertainment when everyone's settling down. Kate spends time teaching Jeff how to play the guitar, which he overtime gets good at
Also this is just a little self indulgent headcanon but I think that Dwight likes to quietly sing along with Kate when he thinks no one is listening
You forgot Detective Tapp D;

1- I've stated something at the end
2- reread your own sentence again and see if it makes sense
3- I've never stated how I should never break a pallet anywhere
It's a video game, who cares about realism, it's all about balance. A survivor can stand still and fast vault a pallet, whoopy doo. It's the end of the world.
Vaults have been nerfed enough, now why are you complaining about vaulting a pallet of all things, I guess you having a problem with a survivor being able to throw their body over like that even when they're standing still means I can have a problem with Hillbilly sprinting around a map that first with a chainsaw for the exact same reason that it isn't realistic.

Insta flashlight? yes, why should survivors be able to instantly save someone in less then a second when the killer is picking up someone and not be able to avoid? and with pallets, they just put it down, killer goes to break the pallet and survivor just clicks for less then one second and then gone, even lightborn was useless against it
Self care? yes, why should a perk that helps you to be able to heal yourself be at the same speed as when someone heals you? or near that speed? its like I have a cut on my back but my friend can heal it up quickly because he has a good vantage point on it and can see where it is, if I try to do it myself I would have to feel where the cut is and even then, I would have a hard time patching it up because im having to push my arms back behind me
Window vault change? Of course, it didn't even remotely make sense that a survivor could just look away from a window while being 2 feet away from it and then make their body quickly flick towards the window and be able to have enough speed and distance to fast vault it and and it should go the same for pallet, makes zero logic that a survivor could just be able to push their body against the pallet and somehow have enough speed and zero distance to fast vault it, or even standing standing still near the pallet vault zone and yet somehow with magic has enough force and speed to fast vault it. This change was to help stop infinites (But it barely did because the infinites themselves are the problem)
Yes this is a game, yes its the entity realm, but that doesn't mean the devs put in some reality logic in it from the real world
Wow, complaining about vaulting a pallet? Just break it omegaLUL

I think survivors should need to find a generator part, and install it on the gen they want to do. Make it so a gen cannot be worked on unless a part has been installed. That would make the game extremely well balanced, and slooooooooooow things down a little.
Yeah but then come the complaints "OHHH survivors find parts too quickly!!!"
