  • Feng 100% for survivor. She has some great variety in her cosmetics. Killer it's probably Legion. Though honourable mention to The Pig. All 3 of her cosmetics are really good and mix with each other extremely well.

  • This isn't a console thing. The last 2 pc people I faced used Ebony moris and tunnelled off hook. I would say the reason there might be less urban users on pc is because a lot of experienced console players move to pc whereas experienced pc players never move to console.

I don't know much of what went wrong with Resistance, but from a lot of the early launch feedback I heard about Hunting Grounds is was that:

    1) Predator queues were too long (go figure, right?)

    2) Only one Predator type was even remotely viable, and the rest got toasted by the squads in record time.

No clue if issue #2 was ever fixed or not, as I stopped following it at that time.

I never tried Resistance because the only way I could find to buy it was to buy the main Resident Evil game, too. And I long ago lost interest in the Resident Evil RPG games.

My ex got me into the resi games a few years ago. I bought Resi 2 and 3 and really enjoyed them (less 3). Thing is I played resistance once and didn't enjoy it at all. It just didn't feel finished and I just felt drawn back to dbd.

I never followed the Predator game much but from what I seen it was something similar to what you said.

Though I feel their main issue though is that their main fan base is dbd players. They are trying to make similar games to dbd to capture some of that audience, without doing enough different to keep them.

  • I use the vial and the tome 1+2 max archive charms. Nobody uses the charms that aren't the level 70 or archive ones so I don't understand why they keep creating so many for the rift.

I tried both versions during free weekends and such. To me, the design was flawed from day one. You can't have one person, especially the power role, be all ranged attacks and super jumps and speed, and the other side be unable to fight back pretty much at all and hope for jukes and dodges. Especially when you get players into the Hunter role like myself with FPS experience. I track Tracer and Genji all the time as Soldier 76 or McCree in Overwatch, there was nothing those runners were going to pull that I haven't already faced for hundreds of hours over there (at the time, I have well over a thousand hours in OW nowadays).

Predator: Hunting Grounds, though I haven't played it, seems a bit better in design in that both sides are ranged.

I could see how if you did have experience in the FPS genre you'd do pretty well in that game.

I wish those games did better. I remember a few months before RE: Resistance and Predator: Hunting Grounds came out I hoped they'd give this game some decent competition but it seems like they just couldn't keep hold of the players who tried out those games.

It doesn't shock me in the slightest. Back around the time the Rift was first announced, the Lead Dev over on Deathgarden mentioned that Deathgarden: Blood Harvest was being kept afloat via profits from Dead by Daylight, so he didn't feel a need to start monetizing the game yet or worry about the low player count as far as development.

But over here in DbD Land, we got the Rift introduced around the same time.

And then, as we all know, Deathgarden: Blood Harvest bombed and was shutdown, the second time their Deathgarden I.P. bombed.

Meanwhile, we can't get bugs fixed at a decent rate over here anymore.

I always say imagine what happened if the game was bought by a decent sized studio. Imagine how quick all the bugs would be fixed lol

I do feel bad for those who got into Deathgarden.

There was a wonderful post by @kamisen that explains the changes and they are quite significant.

    Here's an excerpt:

The current tome (including non-official stats) yields a total of 348 fragments. That's only 8 more fragments than Tome I that BHVR stated was too grindy. Now, obviously our queue times has approved somewhat since back then, but they cut 57 fragments since last time, almost 6 levels. You get approximately 0.8 fragments per game played. This means you need to play approx. 70 matches on top of the one you needed to play since the last tome. That's quite a few games.

    Tome I: 340 fragments

    Tome II: 393 fragments

    Tome III: 405 fragments

    Tome IV: 348 fragments

This is quite annoying to see. This is the first time in a while where I've played extremely little of the game. The only time I've played recently is when I've been playing a drinking night and that's it so I'm currently not looking good for completing the rift.

The game already makes enough money off people buying skins and dlc. They also get money from people purchasing the game so I don't understand why they need to do this.

Just disappointing to see the business side come ahead of the player base. Then again they still release annoying linked skins that don't need to be linked so maybe they started acting like this sooner.

  • For me the effect should be changed to something like this. The killer and survivor share each others auras every minute for 3/4/5 seconds. This way it isn't op in a swf since they don't get the information often.

  • This has to be one of the dumbest looking swf teams I've ever seen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • Freddy is a very good killer but doesn't not op or over buffed. The best thing about him is that he's easy to pick up and do well with without having to master his ability.

  • Crossplay was an excellent addition to the game. I have mates who never would've played this game if it wasn't for crossplay. Also the que times have vastly improved since it's been added.

Very well-done, bro. It's exactly the same path I went so far. It's sad to hear you won't continue this series, thank you bro!

@CashelP14 have you figured out any better path?

This is the most optimal path, mines was slightly less. It would've been 30k Bloodpoints less than this one. I sort of rushed mine because I was eating and didn't check it properly.

@bobcat946732 let me know of a more optimal path which is the same as this one.

    I'm back from the Dentist!

Here's the route I took which assuming I didn't make any mistakes should save 10 nodes vs 9 which will be 440000 bp instead of 410000.

Hope the dentist went well mate. That is a better route mate well done πŸ‘ I rushed mine a bit since I was eating but fair play πŸ‘ normally I check mine a few times before uploading it but this time I just wanted to eat lol

I'm sticking to mine since at the minute I've only been playing survivor so I'd rather reach the end while avoiding killer completely lol

Would it be better to go one notch to the right on top, a straight line on bottom, lightning bolt all the way up and then connect via the 2nd row? That saves 10 nodes doesn't it unless I messed up somewhere. I'd art it out but I'm a bit late for a dentist appointment so I'll check it more thoroughly when I get back. I just looked at it in a rush, appreciate this post though!

I'll check it out in a minute see if it's better.

true, but there are limits to how well you can do based on what killer you play as due to power limitations ie. a good clown vs an ok clown is not that big of a difference as the power is so one dimensional whilst a good trapper vs an ok trapper has a much larger difference. and besides this is more about the peoples general opinions on killers not the actual performances of each killers with there best perks and addons.

The problem is people base their tiers off a few factors so it's hard to make a proper tier list without any rules. I always consider a killers tier based off a good killer playing them, with their best perks. Some others base it off best add-ons included or no perks and add-ons.

  • @xenofon13 said:

If you ever can't find it type in my name and it'll be in my discussions. You can also just go down the first page or two of general discussions. Thank you for looking for it mate πŸ‘

I always try to have it posted within the first 10 minutes of release. That way people can do their first challenge, then see my post before deciding whether to collect it or not. Thank you mateπŸ‘

  • If I was holding a drink right now I'd raise my glass to you lol

  • Gave my answers. Hope no one gives killers D tier since no killer deserves to be there. Every killer in this game is at least C tier if played by a good player.

  • Tell that to the baby ranks who get destroyed by killers easily

  • Cool idea. I'll give one survivor and killer perk.

Hex: Hide And Seek: All totems on the map have the hex applied to it. The game starts with a 15/20/25% penalty to all action speeds. Every totem cleansed reduces this action speed penalty by 3/4/5%. This hex perk trumps all other hex related perks.

I'd lower the numbers to 5/10/15% if it seemed too strong. Feel it would slow the early game down very well while also having no synergies with other hex perks.

Close Call:Β When you have nothing between you and the killer, you make good with what you've got. After vaulting a pallet or window during a chase you gain a token. For every token earned you gain a 5% increase to vaulting, up to a max of 3/4/5 tokens. After dropping a pallet all tokens are lost. Windows are now blocked after vaulting 4 times.

Good perk to run when your teammates waste all the pallets. The numbers could be dropped slightly to 3% if it was too strong with Resilience and Spine Chill.

  • Bring full meta but still don't be toxic.

Really like the power and the lore. I think the perk "puppet master" is a little underpowered. Other than that, great job!

First off I'm really happy you liked the lore. Writing stories isn't something I'm great at so I appreciate that you enjoyed it.

I'd like to know how you'd buff Puppet Master? It's a perk I want to give the killer a very good reason not to slug, while also giving the survivor an escape if they're good enough.

How about the killer sees where the hatch will/has spawned while the 3rd survivor is slugged. It would give them no reason to slug since they know where the hatch will spawn.

Also did you see the add-ons?

  • Have you defeated a souls game without using summons?

  • @EntitledMyersMain said:

I want this in the game.

Thank you mate πŸ‘ is there anything in particular you like? Also do you think anything is too strong?

  • Sounds extremely fAiR. I'd say since the game is a 1v1 then anything that affects other people outside of the 1v1 should be removed. So goodbye Infectious Fright, BBQ, Thrilling Tremors and many perks that effect the 1v1 unfairly.

Also killer abilities will need slight nerfs. Myers needs removed since his stalk can unfairly effect me if he got stalk off someone else. I shouldn't get sick when a sick survivor interacts with me and corrupt will need massive nerfs. Oni will need nerfed and so will Legion.

Alright Behaviour, time to get to work.

  • Early game slowdown mechanic. Once that's added then there shouldn't be anymore complaining about gen rushing.

Yet somehow I still think there will..

  • That's really interesting. Here's mine in order of who I'd axe first to last:

    1. Hag: I will miss you ruin
    2. Deathslinger: He isn't fun to face or play as for me. His perks won't be missed.
    3. Trapper: Won't miss his perks or gameplay.
    4. Wraith: He's alright but his perks aren't worth keeping. Other killers are more fun than him.
    5. Oni: This is where I'm struggling. I find his camping ability too annoying at times. I'll miss Nemesis but Leatherface doesn't need it anymore.
    6. Freddy: I have no problem with Freddy. He just isn't as fun as the ten I'll probably keep. I don't mind losing some of his perks.
    7. Clown: I'll miss pop and his diverse set of cosmetics but his ability just isn't that interesting.
    8. Demogorgan: I really like playing Demogorgan with STBFL. Problem is his ability isn't anything special and his perks are trash.
    9. Spirit: She is class. She has amazing cosmetics and some amazing perks. The gameplay can be soo much fun but I find her counterplay too little at high ranks unless your using Iron Will.
    10. Pyramid Head: This was almost Bubba. I don't like his new change and they didn't fix his camping ability. However I couldn't get rid of my main and can't get rid of BBQ. Pyramid I find fun to face but his perks just aren't that good.

This was extremely tough. Legion only survived because I find them really fun go play. Also Discordance is very good perk that I like to run on some characters.

Once you get past the first 4/5 it's extremely tough to choose who to cut. Especially when you lose the perks and map too.

  • Why hasn't anyone posted the Legion rift cosmetic for Julie? Also Greek cosmetic set for Feng Min is pretty good.

  • I only run her P3 because I think the rest is pretty bad. This is why I wanted her to win the cosmetic contest.

    Here's someones design they made:

Yes that's what I'm thinking if everyone is basically swf then u can balance the game with that like any teambase game would do.

It would help new players while not affecting the top players as much. Just need to buff killers accordingly to help negate this.

  • They should add comms then balance the game better after.

  • Alice from the movies πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • It's Kate who's risking the ban not you. Not your fault she led you straight to the other survivor. You wanted to kill everyone so it's not your fault that you had to let Kate get off your shoulder to do it.

I'd say from now on still kill the Kate after you find the other girl. Then it shows you weren't working with her since you didn't let her escape.

  • Good horror movie villains will hold your attention the whole time they're on the screen. I go to Hannibal Lector in both Silence Of The Lambs and The Hannibal tv series. Both portrayals of the character were excellent and you could never take your eyes off the screen when either of them were there.

Same with Kevin Spacey in Seven. The second you saw him you couldn't take your eyes off him. Jigsaw in Saw is another who just owned the screen every single time he was on it.

For more general reasons as to what makes a good horror villain (or villain in general) is someone who you can sympathise with, understand their logic or relate to. They can also be someone who seems really nice and calm but can just flip at any given time. Lastly someone who you know would get you if you were in that situation. One horror villain I remember is Joe from The Following. He was incredibly charming and you could see why people feel for him and would've done whatever he said. He's evil but he can fool you so easily into siding with him.

  • This is the reason people play swf

  • @Talmeer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1552962#Comment_1552962

I would still say that a fully equipped and trained swf squad, or 4 experienced solo survivor win most of their games, if they play together and not against each other.

But what killer bufffs matters so I look anyways just at 1 specific killer (if he gets buffed or not) - the rest is from minor interests for me^^. The same I can also say about survivors nerfs or buffs.

It's hard to say exactly who'd win. If the killer is good enough he should beat the 4 solo players. It's tougher against a 4 swf since if they have over 2000 hours each (like most really good swfs have) it'll be tough but not impossible. The thing is swf is literally the only challenge most killers have unless they get a terrible map or play a meme build.

I'd say right now is definitely the most balanced the game has ever been.

  • @xEa said:

    Welcome back

First of all about Resident Evil:

The game was like expected a big fail. There are currently 250 people playing it, while almost 40.000 play DBD.. on average. Not saying that many players = good game, but DBD players might have tried it out but most of them obviously did not stay for very long.

About ballancing: I dont know what you want, they released nothing but killer buffs in 2020. Deathslinger is hated because survivor dont have any power in a chase, same with Pyramid Head who is very strong... try him out. Same with Oni..very powerful and very punishing too.

And the maps... Many got reworked, are much smaller now, they removed many strong windows and strong loops in general, more Deadzones got created etc.

Also genspeed got nerfed a bit, on top of many other nerfs like the toolbox nerf (they are pretty useless now compared to old toolboxes)

The new maps are very killer friendly aswell: Saloon is Killer sided, Hawkins is very killersided, the new Yamaoka is killer sided.. well Midwich is a total mess... its just horrible design.

New Killer... yea i dont know, lets see how he plays when he is live, but just from my very first impression i am also not very excited 2bh.

The toxicness in DbD is unfortunatly still a thing, probably will always be. I dont know if Devs can (or actually want to) change that in the new future.

This is very true. Don't forget they are also getting a new early game slowdown mechanic added. They even added individual killer MMRs so people trying out killers they haven't played much with can get easier games.

They also buffed Doctor and made Bubba less perk dependent (even though I'd prefer the old one).

Billy was changed but after all the changes to fix his overheating I think right now it's in a good place. Ruin was "nerfed" however their reasoning was correct and the new one is extremely good.

I think it's hard to say survivors are OP when they've done so much to close the gap.

  • Hex Undying is probably really good with Ruin. Also if it works with Haunted Grounds then it is extremely good. It's really good with NOED also.

Lastly imagine it with Thrill of the hunt. You can tell when someone touches your totem and you can tell when they commit to it. Also if they finally destroy it then it'll respawn again.

Sure, bro. Looking forward to your post, last one is pretty good !

Last one I made had a bad mistake which I'll not be silly enough to make again. First time I made a mistake since tome 1 lol

It's good to see though that your able to find your own path without needing any help.

  • Having no trailer is extremely disappointing. Feel like they didn't capitalise on the hype properly, like they didn't with Deathslinger.

  • Thats not what I meant exactly. I needed to know which challenges were the master ones to determine if your saving the maximum amount of Bloodpoints possible. Also I would be wary that they might change something between now and the release.

I wouldn't worry about this stuff yet mate. I'm waiting till it's release then I'll create my own one.

  • They better release a trailer. The reason why I believe the Deathslinger chapter felt so underwhelming (for me at least) is because they didn't show a trailer till after the ptb had begun.

They just sort of released the ptb and went "here he is". The mini trailer isn't enough to build up hype in my opinion. People underestimate how much hype a trailer builds up.

Also not official info, be prepared to have thread closed!

It won't and shouldn't be closed. I always wait for the official release because I worry they might change something last minute.

  • This doesn't show what challenges are masters so it's hard to know the best path.

  • He is extremely easy to counter. If he's coming towards you then run to a window since they are extremely strong against him. Don't hide in corners against him either.

I'd say any killer seems strong when your new to the game. However he's actually mid-tier right now. I'd still prefer the old Bubba.

  • Telling a new player not to run self care. Yes at higher ranks you should start using other perks but as a new player you really should start with claudette.

You can't rely on randoms at those ranks. If your going to hide then you should use the best character for it. Also I think Empathy is an extremely good new player perk since it gives a lot of information.

  • I'm always an addict for multiplayer games. It was Call Of Duty Black Ops 1/2/3 zombies for the longest time, then fortnite for a short while and now this. If I wasn't playing with mates then I couldn't play solo or killer for more than a month tbh.
