  • Great. So now we'll never know if we're facing a SWF team.

There better be some SWF nerfs to compensate.

I honestly hate killing a solo survivor first. Since I've seen SWF teams try and lead me, (or to me when I'm a survivor) so killer changes targets from their friends.

    They're just #########.

There's a reason why people hate playing against SWF, and most of the time, it is the extra communication they get out of game. To completely track and outwit the killer with the "bonus aura perk" that lets them replace all aura perks with annoying perks like DS and adrenaline.

It's why 2-3 gens can get done within the first chase, cause of looping. Since they instantly know when killer is busy chasing and not gen checking.

I actually like the thrill of the hunt. Why I liked Evolve Version 1. That after all the hide and seek, you became the hunter.

The difference is. Evolve made sure it was balanced for parties that had coms, while DBD just does nothing about it.

Evolve v2 stripping away all the hide and seek hunting, making combat happen much quicker, and look what happened. Game's dead.

I know it doesn't apply to Rank 1 high game, but it's incredibly frustrating for the mid rank.

I think it's relevant to compare the two games, because it's the same monetary system in place. New paid characters, free maps, and NO other gamemodes.

That's why looping is such an epidemic. Quadruple for SWF teams. Because if they know a killer is being looped, they're free to gen rush.

I stopped buying new chapters for this game for a reason. Because countless balance changes without actually adding any new content, is absurd. The game needs variety, variables, beyond just perk load-outs.

There needs to be something to mix up games. like instead of Gens, water pumps that drain a new area or something.

Like if the game had no hex totems, and then added them. That's a worthwhile new content update, but the devs refuse to do anything unique anymore, and instead try to shovel ######### game balance due to the bonus ability of outside coms.

Do you not watch dev streams or actually play the game? Are we forgetting this past event as a test for secondary objectives? Also you cant compare dbd and evolve. Evolve is intended for both sides to be able to ELIMINATE the opponent. It's not just jude and seek.

Also, looping is a tactic, not an epidemic, and if you are subject to looping for 3 gens, a single random survivor can do that without swf. Learn to peel off someone who's looping the [BAD WORD] out of you.

"I am playing as a killer. What changes will I notice with the new matchmaking system?
As a killer, the noticeable difference is that you will see all four survivors appear almost simultaneously in the online lobby."

So the Devs now cover up all SWF groups to avoid dodging?
No way to prepre myself and equip some Moris?
Just another step to shove SWF down our throat?

Where is the nerf to SWF to balance that out?
Every time killer get something, the survivor get something to balance that out, but not the other way round.
    Crap doublestandards.

My guess… they intentionally screwed up the killer queues for the last couple of weeks, so that we are now glad to get faster lobbies.

Pretty sure it wasnt done to hide swf, but a side feature that happens. It sounds like if waiting to pool all people together, then bring them in for ease of lobby. Yeah 4 are gonna pop in immediately, but eh, treat every game the same. Play your game regardless of swf or not. If all 4 have similar names, outfits, or all 4 flashlights yeah obvit's obvious, but swf doesnt ruin the game, they just make it a better challenge as killer.

dude is a total badass. Gunna main him from day one. DBD is the only game that will be able to actually drag me away from Red Dead Redemption 2.

the only reason why im leaving RDR2 to play DBD is because i beat it last week and im 100% it and doing everything takes a lot out of ya, but other than that RDR2 is a blast

You couldnt have 100% it. You dont have online trophies yet ;) .Also, online drops this week, sooo, are you sure about coming back to DBD? Lol.

I agree gen placement needs to be looked at. other day was in a random solo que match on swamp and literally two gens right next to each others so close that I got leader from the person working on the other gen. this should in my opinion never happen. some will say it was because he ran by me but the fact is he didn't we both finished our gens about 10 seconds apart and I kept the leadership for the duration of doing the gen over 40 seconds with neither of us moving. i have also seen two gens spawn upstairs in a Haddonfield house. one on the left side room from the stairs and one in the right side room both upstairs.

See, now those are relevant examples. OP's was about a 1v1 situation (literally just 1 Survivor spawning), which is not relevant for balancing purposes.

How not? Both use rng gen spawning to place generators. It shouldnt be if only 2 people connect, that all gens spawn closer to the center of the map. They should be just as randomly placed, regardless of number of generators spawned.

Ops example is fine, you just want to roast him for it being 1v1 kyf and not a ######### 1v1 real game. And before "you wanna balance around 1v1", no, but as said above, the number of gens should NOT affect the randomness of their placement.
  • I own the shape. while leveling up cannibal to unlock bbq and chili teachable i was forced to buy the black splinter despite the fact i already have the shape. im serious wheres my blood points i worked for those!

What I find stupid is even though I own all killers, I keep getting splinters for freddy, michael, and leatherface. Leatherface is the first killer I bought. So much for splinters being for "killers you dont own" eh? Pretty good job.
    • Remove the key item from the game and make the hatch spawn open as soon as 1 survivor is left regardless of generator completion.
    • Make it so the last survivor automatically has the exposed status effect.
    • Make it so the area around the hatch maybe 10 meters (number can be played around with) is a "safe" zone, in which the last survivor while in the zone no longer suffers exposed and the killer can't grab the survivor out of the hatch.

This change would make hatch play much better and the killer would still have a 50/50 at getting the last survivor.

Until the survivor sits on hatch teabagging until you decide to walk away...

Same reason people say kate's outfit is tomb raider plagiarism. Because regular jackets and things are generic. Simple. Doesnt mean its gonna be a bad design. But it's common clothing...
  • Can you all stop that Until Dawn BS? Its a ######### "game".
Yeah it was a decent story, and getting to make certain choices was cool, but I got it when it was free and uhh....am glad I didnt pay for it. It's like telltale games horror but makes you set down your controller so you dont get caught XD.
  • A friend of mine got hate mail the other day in Spanish, all he understood was #########, etc. He basically said f off. Then he started getting texts in Spanish talking about "you're marked". Hoping its eerily coincidental, but some of these people have the salt worthy of the boondocks xbox killer.
  • The spirits also only happens whe  you're extremely close, invisible, and cant see survivors. It's an ethereal noise around her.

The huntress is literally humming the song. For it to not be directional wouldnt make logical sense, and would also buff her a considerable amount that imo isnt needed.

The spirit auditory change was almost necessary to make her useable, and they're not exactly the same idea. The spirit is only during her power, so it being directional made her power almost useless.

Should we get rid of freddy's directional noise as well? Js....

Hell, the wraith needs ADDONS to make his bell non directional.

To clarify: Keeping people out is camping, because the killer is just standing there to prevent an unhook. Camping is not bannable. In a minute or two, you'll bleed out and be sacrificed.

If you were in the basement and not hooked, that would be different. That would mean that the killer is holding the game hostage.

But hes not camping? Camping is using them as bait/ sitting and watching them. Not preventing the attempt of unhook. If that's true, why did they remove body/face camping as a possibility? Because its exploiting it..

So is it cool for me to hold up a killer falling through grim pantry while we do all gens, THEN let him out? It's not an infinite game if we choose to finally allow intended gameplay, right?
  • @Carpemortum said:
    Peanits said:

No. What they're doing is essentially camping, which is not against the rules.

I thought blocking stairs to prevent gameplay was holding the game hostage/exploit? Hes not just camping, hes straight preventing someone from even attempting an unsafe unhook.

For the millionth time on this forum, that is not holding the game hostage. Holding the game hostage is putting the game in a situation where it would go on forever. Holding the game hostage in a similar situation to this would be if the killer somehow trapped all 4 of you in the basement, stood at the stairs and decided to go afk. That has the potential of making the game last an infinite amount of time as long as they keep standing there. However, in this situation the hook timer will eventually run out and you'll die, the other survivors are allowed to go do gens and escape. Same thing with slugging, you'll bleedout eventually and you'll be able to play another match. No one is being locked into the trial until they DC.

So I can block some killer on grim pantry drop, and keep him there, as LONG AS my team does gens and we leave after? Even though it stops the killer from actually playing the game? Because I thought ochido got banned for that exact thing.

No, they are using intended gameplay mechanics with a countered gameplay mechanic.  By not allowing them to even enter for the attempt is exploiting his collision to end that person, period. Not camping with risks of safe or unsafe. Simply saying, "no, this is how were playing this game now".

Your comparison of flashlight saves (which require timing and an intended mechanic) and standing in the path of a player to prevent ANOTHER intended gameplay mechanic, is ludicrous.

Camping is also an intended mechanic, as is bodyblocking. What's not an intended mechanic is Survivors being able to ignore the Killer's presence.

Hes not camping. Camping implies sitting and waiting for another to come and unhook to get hit or deter them from. He is literally blocking the path from gameplay and its exploiting the same as falling through the grim pantry and keeping the killer there. Or is it ok to do that if the other 3 survivors are doing gens so that the game eventually ends? It's a bs arguement and you know it. Just because the game isnt completely held up doesnt justify blocking g the path and exploiting a collision box.

Its preventing intended gameplay mechanics by not allowing an unhook. How is that hard to get? It's like when people sat inside you on hook so you couldnt get saved. That got patched out because it was exploiting a mechanic or collision box in an unintended way.

Also, no one was hooked? His first line says he was hooked...

The Killer doesn't have to allow for an unhook. Survivors using flashlights when Killers pick up other Survivors also prevent gameplay mechanics (carrying and hooking).

I had a match yesterday against an insidious LF, he killed 3 and there was only one gen done. Repaired the one at the shack till 20% or so and went do another one (i knew he would camp it like hell).
Worked like a charm, i had enough time to fully repair another gen and get the hatch.
    So satisfying :)
This. This here is why camping is fine. Bc if the killer is gonna just camp, you can get work done with no fear.

I do not tape my games, but I got screwed several times lately.
The guy was already on the ground and running and took the hit like a champ. No effect at all (no DH or anything).

I've had both happen. It's completely inconsistent. I'll unhook myself or get unhooked and go down before I'm off or in contro, but I've also had people come off the hook, take two steps, get hit and run off without borrowed time. So it's basically a 50/50 atm.

    https://youtu.be/xOeayuKEPJ8

Just one I have clipped on hand atm.
  • So correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they fixed the fact that killers can hit you while being unhooked to down you instantly? It said in patch notes that you couldn't be harmed until you regain control of your character a month ago maybe? But Killers hit survivors before they can even move when unhooked and instantly down them anyway. Can't we just fix it to give the survive an actual chance to control their character even a tiny bit before being instantly downed off the hook? I even uhooked someone today and as I was unhooking them they were hit mid drop and were down immediately. Any chance this can all get fixed pretty soon?

The only area this fix seems to have actually fixed is with deliverance unhooks.

Deliverance unhooks  are terrible for me atm. Especislly with sprint burst. If I try to run before I hit the ground I basically rubber band in place until I come to a complete stop.

If you are good enough at her (and you're not on like...Lery's or Haddonfield), yes, yes she is.

You struggled against marths depip squad sooo

Bruh it was literally the sweatiest team on the planet, I didn't use Iridescent Head, or Instathrow, or Ruin, and I was on Swamp of all maps...with Huntress. Also I still won.

Obviously yeah it was hard as balls but there's pretty much 0 teams that try that hard. A normal SWF can be destroyed by a good Huntress.

Idk man... I seem to be encountering depip squads 30% of the time at rank 1. All use meta perks, gen rush, etc. I hate it
Just because they all rock "crutch perks" doesnt mean they're Depip squad. I've had games with 3sc 3bt 3ds all flashlights and the 4th with heal perks and a bnp. 4k. Just run the counter crutch perks like ruin, noed, bbq. Boom.

You get maps from the Macmillan estate, Coldwind Farm and Autohaven WWreckers more frequent as they have the most variations (each one has 5) while most others have only 1 except for Swamp and Asylum both have 2. The devs also showed in one of their last dev streams that all maps are played or or less the same amount of times

That's cool, but if every cold wind farm has the same color palette, see through jungle gyms and corn fields, I'm gonna get just as sick of it back to back regardless if its farm 1, farm 2 or farm 5.

The context was that "fun" is subjective, to which I replied that some people find playing to win fun.

You are the one saying that playing to win is inherently negative. You're also pretending I agree and am somehow "defending toxic behavior" by merely explaining that fun is subjective. You are being disingenuous.

In direct response to the statement that trying too hard is bad for the community. Not that "people find it fun to be the best they can", you simply responded to the remark about being bad for the community as someone may find it as "fun".

It's unfair for me to label every knife killer with being a myers reskin JUST like it's unfair to say a wendigo killer would be a reskin of hag.

Freddy has claws too is he a reskin of hag no. As you said its the nechanic that makes a killer.
There is so much that can be done with a wendigo as killer. Climbing then dropping on someone would be nightmare fuel. A mechanic which makes it so survivors running power the killer up kinda like bloodlust. Imagine the pig ambush attack except its above you ready to pounce from the next room. I have pretty bad ideas but there are so many others which will work a dream.
Except climbing on walls is a reason why they shot down the xenomorph as potential killer. Would be too hard to animate and work mechanically into the game.

I also never said hag or freddy were similar? Hag isnt a wendigo...imo.

Also, I meant the core character, not the power. Meyers is meyers bc of who he is. You could give him a bat and hed be scary.

Logically though? Not wendigo more than likely.

Hatch can still open if everyone is alive with a key (this is why hatch is bullshit because no you dont need to be last. If you have a coordinated team everyone can leave with 2 gens still left.) . Yea NOED imo is a crap perk that shouldnt of been buffed. Before the buff I wouldnt consider it a crutch because you would have to of invested some BP into the RNG based bloodweb leveling system but now it makes my blood boil when i do play survivor and havent been downed the entire game because of how ######### the killer is just to get [BAD WORD] a NOED tier 1.

That actually is untrue. It will not spawn unless there are X+1 generators done where X is alive survivors. So a full team would need to power 5 generators and then use a key.

These people still don't even know how the game works, no wonder there is no end of complaints from the same people.

Actually I just think the whole idea of a wendigo is pretty universal and would be a creepy killer in a game getting lost in killers which are there for novelty reasons and being just fun.

It would enable new interesting gameplay mechanics to work. I don't want a man with a knife as killer because I bet they are similar to myers who is his own character.

    Every single clue.
The one you are pointing out with the names on the walls I suggested being days survived trapped after an avalanche or something like that happening. Days survived until being forced to eat eachother to prevent starvation. Susan in this case died earliest so I suggest she was injured in the avalanche and died shortly after obtaining injuries.

I still think a wendigo as a killer makes sense and would be sick and I'm hanging on to hope that they went with it.

I realise some of you are sticking with the safe bet by saying its a mad man with a split personality like everyone says it is just for the sake of being right. I want something creepy really bad and a man with a knife is just so bland. This is the perfect opportunity for a wendigo and I would hate for noone to say "hey, devs see me here I want a wendigo as killer so bad. It would add that layer of horror which is desperately lacking.

I'm not obsessed I just want to show the devs or whoever that a wendigo has a genuine place in this game and anyone comparing my idea to the hag just because she's a wendigo like creature then all I say is that ideas can spark new opportunities for a better diverse gameplay and mechanics. The wendigo could scream its own existence to you. A wendigo isn't a creature that places traps and teleports, a wendigo is some weird clicky cracking creature with no sense of humanity which hunts and stalks its prey. The hag is a sorry excuse for a wendigo killer because in essence she's just a shriveled up old woman who knows a bit of magic that's it.
You're definitely obsessed with the wendigo theory. Otherwise you would have left it as "I'm hoping and heres why".

  • Behaviour missed their chance for better killers for next DLC

    1. "The thing" from the thing. It would start off looking like one of the survivors. The killer can do Gens with survivors but each skill check regresses the gen. (skill checks are more frequent for the thing) being close to survivors while in disguise increases the things power. As the power increases survivors will hear the heart beat from other survivors so they wont know who the killer is.

The survivor can be R.J. MacReady from the original movie

    2. Wendigo. Can see the aura of survivors from any distance if they are moving or doing any action. Moves at 130% and can crawl. But needs to hit 3 times.

Survivor can be a native American (male or female doesn't matter)

New mechanic can be sliding or crawling under obstacles. Killers would take time going under except for the wendigo which can crawl (this mechanic also works for the thing) sliding under as survivor takes time to get up to recover.

    3. Yeti. Can charge towards survivor and if they can successfully hit survivors it will knock them down. Moves at 110% speed, charge speed is 125% but is hard to maneuver.

Survivor can be a very strong, athletic hiker (male or female)

New mechanic can be bursting through certain walls (which would be a killer perk or built in mechanic)

    Open to feedback
First, they already said it wouldnt be licensed, so the thing wasnt ever going to happen this season.

Secondly, how did they "miss" an opportunity for two very bland killer ideas? Yeah, they would fit...the...snow....but come on, wouldnt you rather have a killer with something different?

Thirdly, they never said it was the killer, so its possible still, and they can always release them later....I was personally hoping for krampus, but just because they didnt go with what I wanted personally, I'm not going to scream "omg they missed their opportunity jesus they need to get their shot together".

So tired of people being ungrateful because they already assume it's not exactly what they wanted so they're not happy....

Hey guys. I want to talk about a problem in DBD. It has to do with the perk Decisive Strike.

Currently when we look at perks, we see that some perks get more attention then the others.
Survivors almost always run perks like Borrowed Time and Surveillance as you can see in the Graph below.

But when it comes to Decisive Strike, not many people run this perk as you can see above (PS4 statistics), it's because the skill check is hard to hit and when you miss it, you have no more perk. This is stupid of course. Why would you run a perk that you won't have? It's the point that you always get it, so why punish (ps4) players for missing it, of which some suffer from a worse fps.

Decisive strike's skill check should go slower and when you miss it, it should still activate or the stun time should be longer.

    Thanks.

ps4 lol. everyone on pc or tons of people uses this perk. its gives you a get out of jail free card for what making a mistake. thats why they plan to nerf it. it punishes the killer for doing their job! stun time should be longer yeah thats a no. survivor is easy mode. this post is just stupid. the devs see this i bet they would laugh at it and be like hell no. lol. so because of low fps you think this deserves a buff. get out of here

You fell for this? So how many of your teammates run surveillance? Or did you miss that part....

rank reset is a dirty and unfair practice with the only goal to force you to keeping playing

because if you are rank 1, you would not need to achieve pretty much anything else

so they steal your playing hours and efforts to rank 1 and make you do it over and over from imposed lower rank

Why do you try to reach rank 1 at all? There are zero rewards or benefits for it, actually you get punished for it if you play solo or killer

    You play with better players.
I don't think so .Some time i wonder how this surv got rank one if he play like noob.Way to easy fir surv and as killer you rank up if you want this or not.And on end what is the point rank up? None just foe some number that is all.
So you beat the better players and play against...bad players at rank 1?

I don't mind the reset, but every month is what makes it seem almost not worth wasting actual effort. I may hit 1 again, I may hover around 6 but in 3 weeks it wont matter!

It's not cowardice to prevent a game you know is not going to be fun.

Yeah , we all know it's not fun to lose. It's completely not being a pussy dodging over and over ;)

There's a difference between losing and being trolled by the opponent. Why are you pretending you don't know this?

Being trolled only works if you give into it. You can still lose, be trolled, and have fun. You just do what you can and move on to the next game. I literally had a game last night with 3 unbreakable, 3 sc, 3 UE, 3 adrenaline, an obsession DS, 2 flashlight 2 toolbox join at once. Walked out with a 4k. Sure I may have only got one and they could have teabagged and whatnot, but then I know they're that bad to need to troll a win like that, and I....move on to the next game.

SWF whether terrible with friends or super stacked out is still a game that can be fun. If you dont let the "omfg its cheat with friends I cant do this" mentality set In. ;)

@ChesterTheMolester The hag isn't a wendigo. How insulting. The hag is a no good street worker and you know that.

Well we already have a guy with a knife. Wendigos can be much much more complex than the hag.
Could be a survivor trying to not turn into a wendigo,  like his friends did. He can see the reflection creeping closer to within kinda thing. Tallies may be days until they turned or just dates like the marks on the door for the spirit teaser.

I see it as pretty cowardly to play in SWF. It makes the game easier for those survivors, to the point of virtually game breaking, and often hurts the killer.

Like you aren't coordinating at all? Sure. And I'm the Entity.

The game isn't balanced for coordinated survivors.

You can act like you aren't doing much but against a threat, I'd wager you'll start sharing more and more info, and playing harder and harder using comms to your advantage going well beyond the solo survivor's abilities.

It also allows for extremely bad match making.

And don't forget to rag on the survivor side of things. They DC plenty, too. They have the option to back out of bad ping games at the least.

    @Rebel_Raven
Is it easier with SWF? Yes
BUT you fail to realize that most swfs play with friends just because they like to play with their friends, not because they are sweaty ********.
We are NOT the depip squad.

This and several times when I've swf'd one or 2 people are on their cellphones talking to their gf and so can't tak anyways. There's other times I'm playing and can't talk due to people sleeping so there's no real advantage in quite a few of those games.

For most of my swf games it's with 1 or 2 and sometimes 3 to teach newbies the ropes and hopefully let them earn some bp. The other games we screw around quite a bit and joke about mistakes on both sides and we always say gg afterwards unless it's a camper at 5 gens etc.

This whole 4 mans swf swat team excuse is just that an excuse for every game where the killer gets outplayed or when there's even a 2 man swf. In over 1500 hours of playtime on both sides I've never seen more than 100 total groups of highly coordinated swf groups.

But I've seen hundreds of solo q games where the solo q's look like a 4 man depip squad, quite a few of those I was a survivor and we just all knew what to do. We knew when to rescue and when not to, when to do gens and when not to etc.

After quite a large amount of them the killer would get salty and say swf trash etc, all because they got their butt handed to them. It was a convenient excuse just like here on the forums, it wasn't because they weren't very good or that they made way too many mistakes it was swf.

Do you think Monto or Marth or any of the other top tier players got as good as they are by whining about swf and using that as an excuse not to get better?

Funny, I keep running into sweaty SWFs. Nearly every time I give them a chance, outside of events.
If I didn't constantly run into people trying to use SWF to their advantage, I might have a better opinion of them, and I'd probably dodge less.

Believe me, I get it. You just want to play with friends. I absolutely do not blame you for that. SWF in itself isn't bad.
I blame the people pushing SWF advantages who are way too common.

Still, I feel the tone of the thread is screwed up.
Calling people names because they don't find it fun to gamble with people that might just go out of their way to ruin their fun, and abuse things not intended (Coordination, and communication. I don't really give a damn about SWF in itself)

I'm not interested in becoming "top tier." I don't have time for that. I'm not a streamer, and I don't have the time to invest in being as good as one. I really wish I did. I enjoy this game for some strange reason when I generally hate PVP entirely. Survivor, and killer.

Hey, I'm all for removing the excuses, or validating them.
Lets mark SWFs, or filter them.
And/or add a BP bonus to killers depending on how many SWFs are involved in the match to indicvate how many were SWFs.
This way someone can see they got whooped by 4 solo survivors and can't make the complaint with any validity.
Or if they go after an SWF they can either meet a not sweaty group looking to have fun, an absolutely ruthless group, or a toxic group.
People looking to dodge SWF are probably going to do it anyhow.
Trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better than to dodge an SWF will only last so long with them, and if they don't know what to look for, they will ALWAYS have that excuse.

And hey, there's always the people that don't dodge, even knowing what to look for. It's not like SWF will completely lose games.

You can't convince me that most SWFs aren't mostly sweaty when my experiences say otherwise.
They aren't out to screw around short of being toxic/BM. Maybe some are trying to teach? I might have ran into one game like that.
But they're generally out to be as ruthless as possible in my experiences, and that's pretty ruthless when they can basically break the game.

So if you dont care about being top tier why do you care when you lose to "sweaty they hards" wasting their items. Why not laugh....
  • fake....new killers added to end of list, not randomly in middle.
  • Why will a survivor wield a tanto point knife?
    Decisive strike?

Why would Kate carry two ice picks? The look. Its possible. Not likely. But possible.
  • Interesting how Laura doessnt have a beanie on...

NOED doesnt activate until the doors open. it doesnt counter hacth. Even then it onjly sometimes give you what? 1 kill? Thats if it doesnt get taken down first.

Hatch doesn't open until everyone else is dead. Even then, it only sometimes allows what? 1 survivor to escape? That is if the killer doesn't find them first.

I never said that NOED counters the hatch - he asked what the "safety net" mechanic for killer was and I said that NOED is the killer's safety net. I then went on to argue that NOED is more of a safety net/crutch than the hatch, and also that it's easier to secure kills with NOED than it is for the last survivor to escape through the hatch, giving reasons for both viewpoints.

If you want to read my arguments above and then bring up more points to refute them, I'm more than happy to discuss the issue further. I'd just rather not have to repeat myself, that's all.

The noed safety net can be removed before useful. The hatch cannot.

I like them, I just think they need to have less luck involved. You shouldn't be able to take it off after just one box.

A thought I had was to double the amount of Jigsaw boxes available and assign a key when trapped. That way, only 1 of the boxes will get the trap off. Instead of it being RNG or luck with every box, they just have to find the 1 box with their key.

It does assign a key when trapped. Devs said that a few q and a ago when talking about luck and rng. So "your box" exists as soon as your trap does. You just have to guess right.

I wish it was instant, but sucks to the developer that got trolled live by Flashlights.
